My caching sense was really off again. Looking everywhere, except where i had just stepped over and had thought would be a good place to put one. Maybe i should look better? In any case, another found and signed. All in good condition. Thanks again.
These caches we did at night, by the power of led lenser ! Our first night in town and just having a feel of the caches, doing 20 in 2 hours of night caching, not too bad after a 10 hour drive to get here , all caches are in good nic and easy finds , thanx so much to the placer's , top stuff
Found at 2:29:00 PM, staying in Stanthorpe for a couple of days and grabbing a few caches before continuing on our way North to escape Wagga's winter. We started the Granite Belt Bike Trail this morning and soon realised that if we were going to have any chance of completing it in one day we would need a bit more horsepower so we swapped the bikes for the Geomobile.
Thanks Rainforest Cookie.
Thanks Rainforest Cookie.
We parked on the opposite side of the road as we thought this would be much safer. The bike riders past us again while finding this. I found this one the first place I looked.

Bit of a sad day today, being the last day of the Queensland 2015 Mega Event. Many cachers are already packing up and heading home. Not us though - we have another day to fill in, hoping to find as many of the unfound caches around the Stanthorpe area as we can. Couldn't leave this one behind. Thanks for the smiley Rainforest Cookie
[green]I had a pretty busy day of caching today. An early start had me in northern Stanthorpe then everywhere after that. Once the first event for the day (cito) rolled around I met up with Hotwheelsduo for a bit of caching. We head for the Bike trail multi to add it to the list of types for the day so this one was one along the way. The cache was soon located and signed before heading off to the next.

Well, having hit 2000 for the Mega we're back caching!
Time to finish the Elementaries & the rest of the Apple!
Doesn't hurt to throw a few extras in the mix along the way either.
An interesting series so far in regard to cache names.
Crunched a few co-ords & soon had another smilie on our map.

Last full day of the mega event and time for another pre-lunch caching run. With the weather in general a bit less wet today than it has been it was a bit easier as well. A bit of a generic log on the 28 I found this morning I'm afraid, but I know the Cache Owners will be getting buried in emails and unlikely to have a chance to read them all. Thanks Rainforest Cookie for the cache.
Completing the bike trail as part of the how many different caches for the QLD Mega. Appreciated the variety of cache containers and places visited. Thanks Rainforest Cookie.

After a rather eventful (read expensive, long and tiresome) trip down to the Mega, and spending yesterday and the morning trying to diagnose issues with the car, we decided we had better go find some caches.
Easy find, at 1340hrs. With all the cachers running around town, we decided to head out in a random direction to see what we could find. This is where our adventures took us.
Cheers

When I first spied this series, I thought id walk or cycle it, turns out, its more of a driveable Trail...
Visiting QLD from Central Coast NSW, and attending the Stanthorpe MEGA EVENT for about a week. Camping at the showground, caching days done mainly with SpikeyMikey, meeting up with members of CCG, HAVOC, and others from all over Australia.
Many thanks to all responsible for a smooth operating event, my first Mega, and first visit to Stanthorpe. Plenty of reasons for a near future visit
Whilest it did rain and drizzle almost every day, I much preferred this over hot days, which is what I encounted on the Gold Coast return journey, as well as a repeated bout of coughing with the flu on the long drive home.
Great Puzzles, Power Trails, landscapes, History, Apples!, and company. Politeness and respect by all
Many Personal records smashed this weekend First MEGA, Finds per day, Altitude, etc

Up in Stanthorpe for the QLD Mega Event. The weather may not have been the best, but the many interesting caches found during Easter, made up for it. Congratulation to all Cache Owners.
Visiting the QLD Mega and apologies for the generic log. Wonderful area and a great variety of caches found. Generally, all had excellent coords and were well stocked with large log books. Many thanks to all the locals involved in setting up the mega and providing lots of challenges for us Southerners. Pity about the rain.

MEGA was on so decided it might be a good idea to find some caches. "Some" ended up turning into a few hundred... the most exhausting experience.
Started in the city and pooh corner, ended up leaving a little late for Stanthorpe. Fun weekend, managed to get pushed into swimming across water a few times and finishing off some rum.

It wasn't till we found this one that the cache names started to make sense
It rained on and off while we were riding, but never very heavy luckily. It was still warm enough that I was in short sleeves the whole afternoon.
I think we all managed to get in and find at least one of the caches along the way.

QLD Mega trip 2015 with Sol de Lune. On this almost 400km road trip we drove from Canberra to Stanthorpe caching in all the towns along the way with mostly great success. Around the Mega there were heaps of caches to be done including a few power trails. Despite the weather we got all of the planned caches done.
Day six was fairly gloomy and wet, but we started by heading up to the Bald Rock area, even though it turned out to be too wet to attempt the climb. Then it was back to the main road and trail caching for the rest of the way to Stanthorpe. Thanks.

Day 67 of my trip to Brisbane.
Today is a semi-fun day. After the last couple of weeks of intensive sorting of ju.., er, collectibles at Mum's place, moving, and cleaning, I'm in Stanthorpe, staying for a week, on my leisurely way home out of the heat and humidity of Brisbane. I had a good sleep, and have nothing to do today except take the GeoSchnauzers for a haircut, collect their dog food, and enjoy myself. I haven't escaped the humidity after all - it's raining quite heavily, so today is a GeoSchnauzer-less park and grab day. After adventures with GPS and relying on my memory of same, I've finally dropped off the dogs, after first getting on the wrong side of Storm King Dam. Anyway, I've got my trusty umbrella, and I'm off.
No 11 of 23 today. Thanks, Rainforest Cookie. It's another easy grab. I would enjoy riding the bike around here, I think.
