Thanks Swanky126 for placing this cache and for the ongoing maintenance. Find #10765 on 2/11/2024 at 5:09PMA plan was hatched to ride along the Riesling Trail and collect a few caches. A delightful day in the company of Cheezel and Jolly riding along and signing logs. This is a special place, very enjoyable. We also collected some others that were nearby or along the way.

Naughtybunny and I decided to stop here on the way up north on our road trip. A nice bikeway amongst the trees so off we went for a short walk. Searched GZ for a while and gave up. Went back to the path and noticed something out of place and bingo! Happy to have nabbed this one. TNLN. Cheers.

A slow and methodical find here as Chookster and I headed to Burra for a short break. My GPS had me elsewhere, where we searched a LOT of rocks! As we were heading out, we noticed a spot we hadn't checked and bingo! We emptied a heap of stones, dirt and a manky old wet pine cone out of the cache container before stamping.TFTC Swanky126

Spending a few days exploring and caching around the Clare Valley. Visiting some towns that I haven’t been before so lots of unfound geocaches up for grabs.

Day one was Hamley Bridge, Stockport, Tarlee and Riverton. Very warm today so didn’t break any records and needed frequent stops to rehydrate.

After checking in to the Riverton Caravan Park, I set off on my bike to make a start along the Rattler Trail. Only one DNF on the trail today.

After a couple of hours on my bike, the cool water of the Riverton Pool was beckoning me so I called it a day a headed back to Riverton.

Thanks for the cache Swanky126.

So glad we had electric bikes to do this trail.
The JAMS team ( JJ52,Allister w, Mogni, and sir_spectre minus mitchell&hound ) but Tallbikestan was with us instead and we where out for there usually monthly caching adventure. This time it was over the october long weekend instead of the usual day trip. The taget this time was Drop into the Light a long ladder cache on the way to clare and then to clear the Rattler trail, Riesling Trail, Ne Trail saturday on the bikes and then sunday do the Mid North Channel Country bike trail. Monday on the return home was to get Peter's view a 2001 cache. Of course there was many, many other's found on route to the various target for the weekend, somewhere around 260 found by the team. It could have been more but we were not going at a flat out pace, just steady and getting a blow out on the bike 1.6 km's from the end of the Mid North Channel Country bike trail didn't help. I didn't see any snakes this trip but allister did, he saw 5. The caches this trip where written in as JAMS, i forgot the stamps. Also 1 cache was placed by the JAMS team this trip. Out of all the bike tracks i preferred the Rattler /Riesling trail. I like riding through the very rich ( after all the recent rains ) fields of yellow flowers.

Returned to this series from starting end. I earlier did some from Auburn. On both times it was done by walking. Slow but good exercise. These (MT's) were intervening the rattlers. Thanks Swanky126.

Day fourteen of our short South Australian trip with BettyBoo3747 and the geo-doggies.
Our last day on the Rattler series. We drove down to Riverton and unloaded the deadly treadlies and hit the bike trails riding for the last half of the Rattler series. We then traveled to Tanunda collecting a few caches on the way.

Glad there weren't too many rocks around here otherwise that hint would not have been much use!
Thanks, Robmc.

#19226. Day 14 of our Vic/SA trip with Robmc the geodogs and our bicycles. A day of moving on - leaving Clare and heading to Tanunda for a few days. First though we wanted to finish off the Rattler Trail so drove to the oval at Riverton and rode as far as #31. It was a bit of a hard slog into a strong head wind on the open sections but a pretty good ride on the way back in quick time.

Very pleasant riding this small section of the Mawson Trail. Discovered the cache, added our names to the log and continued on our way.

Thanks Swanky126

Today was a big day out of caching with part of the JAMS crew today it was JJ52 Allister w and myself.
We met up at 7.15am and headed off on an adventure to the East of Clare. We targeted cemeteries and Used2B churches.
All up we found around 50 caches each as well as a bonus FTF on an amazing cache at Spring Gully.
It was a fabulous day and we all had a great time. It was interesting to visit some smaller off the beaten track historical towns.
Thanks to all the CO for putting out and maintaining hides for us to find.
This one took a while to locate Al came up with the goods here TFTC

A caching day had been organised with Michells&hound and allister w to head north and find caches that all three of us hadn't found. It was a great day for caching and we had a lovely day driving on some out of the way tracks and roads, through some of our quaint little towns visiting lots of Used 2B Churches and historical sites. We even made a smallish detour to grab a FTF in Spring Gully Conservation Park. Cool

It was time for a bit of walking so we started off here to find the first 3 then went around and work our way back again. Big Grin Lots of rocks here. Surprised

Thanks for the cache Swanky126. Smile

Doing a big caravan trip around South Australia in these travel restricted times and doing a little bit of caching on the way.
This afternoon caching with some friends from Adelaide - there are plenty to find in and around Riverton on the Rattler Trail.
Out for a late afternoon walk on the rail trail and was able to quickly spot a well worn geo trail that took us to the spot where we spied the rock in the clue.

I am cycling the Mawson Trail from Blinman and Adelaide which has provided the opportunity to pick up a few geocaches along the way, including quite a few between Clare and Riverton today. This one was a reasonably straightforward find, being in an obvious position within a few metres of the coordinates. Thank you Swanky126 for installing and maintaining this cache.

28-Oct-18
The last time I was here, I was on track for a FTF. Searched in vain. Then saw that the coordinates had been corrected by 21.7m. WTF! Didn't post a DNF as I felt I'd been misled.
But that's caching. Smile

Back here and again had trouble getting a solid sat loc. Must be the trees or somethin'

Eventually, I spied a SPOR and underneath was what I was looking for.

Thanks for the cache, Swanky126

Headed off this morning to walk the Rattler Trail, 19.5km containing 75 caches. Happily we got them all. The day was nice for this trip with an overcast sky and lower temperatures. Most finds were nice and quick, some took a little longer and other's we had to repair with the CO's permission. Our walk took us a little longer than we thought it would, but we took care not to run into any snakes today. Saw a group of kangaroo's, which ran ahead of us for half a dozen caches.

This cache was a nice quick find. tftc

Apologies for generic logs. Back to finish walking the Rattler trail, with Darkmoon31, picking up where we left off in May. A very early (6am) departure from home saw us ready to go from No26 at 7am heading out in a very brisk 3 degrees. Making our way down to Riverton we arrived in plenty of time to visit the local Market on today. If you get a chance to do this then try the hot apple juice - Delicious! Could not have asked for a nicer Winters day for caching with spectacular scenery along the way. Thank you for bringing us here. Smile

For the last four years a group of us friends have taken our caravans to a different park not too far from the city.
This year we are in the lovely town of Riverton.
On day two I walked a short length of the old rail trail and found a few of the caches, this was on that I found and signed.
On the way I met a local, walking his dog, who told me how the high school used the land north of the oval as part of their rural studies. Wine is made from the vineyard which in turn is watered by the overflow from the town treatment ponds.
This cache was one that I found.
Thanks.
