Always wanted to do the coast to coast. Old and unfit! A ha - I can do it sitting down in a car and caching! Win win win with Piwaka54! TFTC
After years on our bucket list and three cancellations due to Covid, we are thrilled to finally be here. Following several cruises we flew from Sydney, Australia to Wellington, New Zealand to begin our next adventure. Picked up our rental vehicle and will be driving, exploring, hiking, and caching both islands for 3.5 weeks. A quick grab upon reaching GZ and soon our ink was on the log, too. With the rain continuing we hurried back to the car. Thanks for adding to our adventure today, Nukeworker and Racquetball Girl, Arkansas, USA
This river name is a bit of a mouthful! As we looked up into the hills we spotted a small plane dwarfed but the surroundings. Thanks for the placement Gracie7 +mum
There was a powerful flow here today I would love when the snow melt in spring ..cache all good and tidy thanks team
We stopped here on the way to ChCh for a maintenance daytrip.
The cache is where is should be and now that we added a bag is All good.
Happy Caching

Found it! This one was hidden in a different place than the others - presumably the wrong place given that the normal spot was available, so that's (the normal spot) where I rehid it. There was no bag for the log. TFTC!
Power trail in car always feels like a cheat. But a cache is a cache. Pleased most were on the same side of the road as I parked. Just give those trucks a wide berth.
#10,049. Day 2 of the extended Labour Weekend geocaching road trip. I flew down with geocaching buddy Infoferret yesterday with a target list of geotour caches, adventure labs, puzzle finals, a few virtuals and a hike to get the DGSC final. We can't resist stopping to pick up a few traditionals on the way to boost the overall numbers.
Heading now towards Kumara but decided to stop and pick up some traditional caches along the road. Another quick find here in this scenic location. Signed the logbook, and replaced the cache where found. Thanks gracie7 + Mum for hiding it here. This cache name reminded me of Hawaii. Didn't see any surf boards or bronzed lasses in bikinis. Maybe the sandflies had eaten them.

Another one of the ones that GSEL (who is more organised with lists on his GPS than I am on my phone) had noted as found but I forgot.
This is a fabulous road to drive, and many thanks for placing this series of Caches to encourage us to stop and stretch our legs (even if only for 10-15m at time), and take in the scenery. TFTC.
Just a note in response to GSEL's log - I haven't worn a bikini since I was 16 (for which the world is duly grateful). GSEL has a vivid imagination.

Heading back towards Karamea along SH 73. Finding what I can along the way. Crossing a number of bridges as I come to them. TFTC
Having fun looking for some of the caches in this series. Thanks for this cache gracie7 + Mum.
A quick find on my way home to Christchurch and will be taking me a long at this rate
We were pleased it was a quick find here as we had decided it would be the last one attempted before Kumara. Often that leads to a DNF but we had success with all the caches we tried in this series today. Thanks very much to the COs for the great effort made with maintenance of their caches.
Found while on way from greymouth to chch with mangoambs. Nice cache, thank you
On a trip to the coast and caching along the way. Lovely spot. Found with everdene22. Tftc
I've been interested in finding this series of caches ever since they were published. Finally, I'm here. I think this is only the second time I've been on this road, the first time was probably a one-stop trip, silly eh! I much prefer taking my time, stopping lots, having a good look around and - - - just breathing the air. Thanks for helping me do just that!
First day of a two week motorhome excursion, heading via the Coast to the lower South Island, picking up a few caches along the way – seven today. Once I got to the “correct side” of the road, this was a quick find. #3314. TFTC.
Time to head home after an awesome weekend caching around the hokitika area.
Early start on a mission to get as many between hokitika and Arthur's pass.
White truck and hi viz jacket perfect camo for these caches

On our way from hokitika to christchurch stopping logs. Danke fürs Legen und Pflegen. Kind regards from Switzerland.
Day 4 of our West Coast road trip and time to head back to Christchurch. Stopped to collect these park and grabs whenever we could safely pull over - had to miss a few as too may cars behind us. TFTC
Despite the rain we stopped for this little container. Biwer original sends Greetings from Germany and thanks for the Cache.
After a quick visit to Greymouth with Nosynel and Ethness it is time to go home. My plan is to get the BtG series completed with a few others. Please excuse the boring repetitive logs! Thanks for the cache, CO.

Down to Christchurch for another weekend trip with boneybruce to pick up TMGT caches, and today's mission is to clear out the TMGT caches on the west coast, and pick up a few other interesting caches along the way. Quick find on our way back to CHC. TFTC!!!

Today we were doing a day trip to just beyond Springfield for a random maintenance check day on ALL of our caches along this route to finish our planned day from last weekend that was postponed due to torrential weather that hit most of the country.
Due to the easy PnG nature of the BtGs series and copy/paste logs we receive we often arnt notified of any maintenance that may need doing. Most of these BtGs we havent visited in 6years so a maintenance check day was created (but in the end not needed)
The log here was nice and dry and we were surprised to actually find our original container.
All BtGs received a new logbook today. All good here. Happy Caching

Last day of the long weekend and a long drive back to Blenheim via Greymouth (yep, that’s right) with the goal of getting a whole heap of ‘bridge the gap’ caches and anything else easily accessible or interesting.
With a lot of kms to travel, there was not room for much more unfortunately.
So a successful trip but the real heroes were the weather and the scenery.
I had forgotten a bit how stunning it can be in and around places like Castle Hill and Arthur’s Pass, and a great spring day with snow-capped mountains for a backdrop made a bit of a self-inflicted slog actually quite enjoyable.
Thanks all COs, and sorry for the cut and paste, but I hope you can understand why. All logs signed Cap/ricnz or variations on the theme.

Onto the trail proper now, it's caching all the way for lots of park n grabs and a couple of modest walks.
It's the last full day of the trip and I intended to make the most of the day and was up with the lark, cockerel more like, and in the car at 0530 ready to get going. I called in for an early brekkie and hit the road early to meet Ricardinho.nz at Springfield. We cached our way back to the West Coast via road barriers and others en route and I set off for home after leaving him in Greymouth after visiting all 8 of the TMGT caches there. Home at 7PM and a decent haul of over 80 caches, including 5 Earthcaches. Awesome scenery and views and a cracker day of weather too. 620KMS for the day travelled and time for a rest!
It's that time of year again when Marlborough residents get a double bubble, two 3-day weekends in a row and a chance to get out there and find some caches. Last weekend I headed over to Golden Bay with ricardinho and we managed a healthy numbers-boosting haul of 82 over 2 days. This weekend I'm planning on finding some already solved Canterbury caches and get me closer to a 5 figure finds number, the big 10,000. At the start of toSaturday this was a 4 day, at the end it was a 120 plus day!!
The Saturday was planned to be a big day and to get over 100 caches in a day if possible and start converting those puzzle pieces into smiley faces. Success was achieved in that we found over 120 each. I personally found my missing Smurfs, Metal Mania, Glossary of Geocaching as well as a number of other solves and collateral Traditionals. The Canterbury weather turned it on and a good day was had with ric.nz driving and me navigating (sort of)
The Sunday was a Geo-art loose ends day. My plan wqas to track down the remaining Smurfs, round up some horses and grab a couple of loose Eclipse mint tins. I also explored the realms of Springfield in preparation for a return across SH73 on Monday.

We are sitting on MissAllysa during the last week of the School Holidays so we are taking her over to ChCh for a couple of days and stopping to do maintenance along the way. Allysa recently got her own account so was happy to sign the log at each stop even if she wasnt allowed out of the car next to the busy road. Due to the last log being a DNF and the easy nature of all of the hides in this series we expected this one to be missing but it was exactly where its suppose to be and in great shape. All good here. Happy Caching
Nana and Aunty Grace are taking me to Christchurch and we are finding some caches on the way. Aunty Grace passed the logbook to me through the window so I could sign my own name. We didnt have Jaxson so I only signed lma.
Pleased that most of the bridge caches were on the 'right' side of the road for us and we didn't need to cross over too often.
One of many bridge caches found today. Most were found very quickly. Thanks gracie7 + Mum

fruitless search on the side indicated, something told us to switch sides - guess it depends on which side the CO was driving... and immediately the cache was spotted, reached into a pile of cobwebs.. this is NZ.. there is nothing to be afraid of here!.. still a primeval reflect kicked in when something "stung " my hand.. life flashes before you.. then you realised it just a bit of dry gorse that has some ended up i the web - perhaps anther cacher's sick humour... ( mm have to remember that) .. log dry safe and sound..
Today I wanted to keep my numbers up before the forecasted rain set in. So the plan was to go up the SH from Kumara Junction to Jacksons.
Cheers for the cache.

there was a bit of damage from the recent storm visible here
Cheers and thanks,

We didn’t have time today to pick up many caches but wanted to do one from this series and chose this one. It had good parking nearby and was soon found- thanks.
We were heading to Christchurch so thought we would go this way. We were really impressed with the amount of safe parking at these caches through here. As we were in a campervan we only stop where we feel safe and where we feel other road users won't get upset with us. Thanks for the BtG series
Today's mission was a drive from Christchurch to Greymouth on my way home to Nelson. Trying to find 'a few' caches along the way. It's been ages since I travelled this route so there were actually heaps of caches to find and at the end of the day my tally was 81. Biggest cache day for me for a while. One of my objectives for the day was to find as many BtG caches as I could. I managed to find quite a few. A few DNFs. A few DNAs due to muggles or distraction. BtG counter = 28. TFTC, Biggles.
1st of our 6 day adventure down to Oamaru for [Oamaru Geofest 2017](https://coord.info/GC6M2V0)
Last weekend there was an accident on this bridge so we stopped to check on the cache and it all good.
Happy caching

Greetings from Australia, We are finally managing to catch up on some logs, found as we continued our trip, log retrieved signed and replaced as found, thanks for the cache and the fun
Mum had read in the newspaper that there was going to be 'works' done on this bridge - so on the way home from ChCh tonight we stopped in the dark to make sure it was still there. Yep. All good here. Happy Caching
A quick find on the way over to Christchurch via Arthurs Pass, Thanks for the whole series.
Little Wainihinihi River today. There's a need for more rain for this one to become big - but please no more rain until we've left the area...
**Thanks** for the cache!

*Finally vacation and time for the trip 'down under' to Australia and New Zealand via China. We’re expecting to see a lot of different animals and flowers and also hope to find nice caches and meet other geocachers during our journey.*

#1469 Found Geocache
On the road from Franz Josef Glacier to Arthur's Pass, the cache searched and found. After completing log, logbook and cache placed back on the same place I found it. Best CO gracie7 + Mum thank you very much for this well done and maintained cache.

I was fortunate enough to be able to squeeze an 11 day holiday out of two leave days!! I headed out west to find some caches, see some sights, and relax before the madness of the semester hits. The weather was unbelievably good, only a bit of a storm over Arthur's Pass on the first day, otherwise hot and sunny. I found a great variety of caches, drive by's, walks, hikes, even a power trail. Last day of my adventure, time to go home sadly... Thank you to all the CO's for their great hides!!!
We are driving from Greymouth to Arthurs pass today and have found a lot of caches so please excuse the cut and paste logs, I normally prefer not to use them. After more than a month of experiencing the laid back NZ lifestyle we are finding much of the traffic on this road today to be in a huge rush which has made some of our stops a bit difficult, but we survived!
We enjoyed the bridge series and found all we went for. Where the log and bag were stowed separately we put them back together. Thanks for placing this series, it kept us amused on the journey

Caching our way over to Greymouth and back during the long weekend, the aim being to complete a GIC licence and also grab more BtG caches. I think the final tally will be north of 200 for the weekend. Stunning day for a road trip.

After an awesome week down the west cost it's time to start heading home. With a slip on the road ahead it gave us plenty of time to do some cashing. Tftc
Today's trip was from Christchurch to Greymouth (one way)... planned it the morning of and making it up as I go along. Set off at about 6am, as my bad luck would have it, last night was one of the coldest nights in years for most parts of the country, so no surprise there was black ice throughout central Christchurch. Wasn't too bad the rest of the way however, I stopped in Darfield for a while to wait for the sun to come up - hard snow on the ground from here onwards. The contractors had done a great job keeping the highway passable. Arrived in Greymouth at about 5pm. TFTC (2110)
Quick stop on the drive from the West Coast to Mt Cook---thanks for helping break up the drive.
On our tour through New Zealand we visited many inspiring places, enjoyed delicious meals, met friendly locals and tourist AND found some Caches.
So this Cache was one on our trip. Thanks a lot for hiding and maintaining.

6751. On our way over to the Wet Coast for a week at Kumara. This was our thirty fourth and final cache find on our journey. Another good safe place to park and another good cache find! Big river and big name. Thanks for the cache. Rodney and Iris.
Out on an Easter Cache hunt where it was all about the numbers.
Day 1. Know how to hold em complete. Now time for some park & grab Trads and Bridges on the way to Arthurs Pass.

On an epic caching mission with Shannonp1 through Reefton to Greymouth over the Lewis Pass, cacheing in Greymouth then returning to Rangiora via Arthurs Pass over two days. Final count for the weekend was over 200 caches. Quick easy find on our way past.
On an epic caching mission with Surveybase to North canterbury, Waipara, Culverdon, Springs Junction, Reefton, Greymouth, Arthurs Pass and back to Rangiora over two days. Final count for the weekend was Saturday 124 caches, Sunday 80 caches. not a bad weekends work. sorry for the cut and paste but it would take forever to log them all.
18084 km from home we found this Cache while our holidays. Thank you very much for hiding and greetings from Dresden, Germany!
Continuing our way from ChCh to Greymouth grabbing the BtG caches. No problem with this one. TFTC
Not such a big river today... we have had a week of fine weather and flows are low.
Weekend caching towards the coast. What better way than to do it with my buddy and my wee doggie buddies, and caches too. Thanks for all the breaks and caches.
