Logs
To explore the island today we are going from the east coast to the west coast. We drive over the Arthur Pass through very varied landscapes. Sometimes the valley is narrow, sometimes it is wide. Then again we drive along a wide river delta. We see bare mountain slopes and then again forested mountains. So our tour is never boring. We choose a few caches along the way to search for and log.Earthcaches, labcaches and virtuals are also popular. A big thank you to all owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi
What was supposed to be a quick stop turned into a long discussion between adults meeting and greeting. I went down to the river to build a dam and I logged my name in this cache. I located our previous visit here in the logbook, not as long as Castle Hill, but still a few years back. Thanks for the cache gracie7+ Mum
#3899 Today is day 11 of my geocaching vacation in New Zealand. I'm doing some last-minute geocaching before leaving Christchurch and finding more geocaches along the way to Hokitika.Found it! I initially drove past it and made an u-turn back to take pictures. The geocache was a plus. gracie7 + Mum, thank you for the cache!-crystaloops from Taipei, Taiwan on October 11, 2024 @ 16:21:34[GC4C0FM] BtG: Bealey Bridge (Canterbury) was a D1.5/T1.5 Small Traditional Cache at the time of finding.
On a business trip to NZ, but always make time for some caches. Today was my Birthday fun, so lots of caching to be done! Large biker group not interested in what I was doing as they filmed their crossing of the nearby bridge with a drone... All wasy good here today.
Our internet wasn't loading so had to find this one old-school. Didn't take too long TFTC
Found with Bladesofglory on our campervan tour of the South Island. Great start to a day of driving. TFTC
Plenty of room for parking here, followed my GPS to the right spot over near the river, TFTC
Dieser Cache konnte heute erfolgreich geloggt werden.Danke an den owner fr's legen und pflegen TFTC Schmerzbefreit
Lets try this again. After a small foot injury stopped us from going further last week, we are back to do our maintenance check day up to Springfield... and of course it had to rain (sigh) As it was currently just a constant spit we decided to stick it out as far as we could hoping we would come into the forecasted good weather soon. This was our third stop and everything is all good here. Happy Caching
After spending a rather sleepless windy and rainy night nearby we ummed and arred about what to do today. We decided we would carry on with plan A for the day and find a few caches as we made our way to Christchurch. It is always a great feeling to turn a dnf blue face into a lovely yellow found it smiley. This is what happened here, when we were last in the area we could not find this one but today we followed the phone to exactly where the cache is supposed to be. We signed the log and returned it as we had found it.Thanks for placing these BtG caches, I think this is our last one to turn into a smiley.
Found it on our tour from Hokitika to Kaikoura. Greetings from Germany and TFTCFaM11
After traveling around Australia with Oopie for 7 weeks, we have now been traveling with the camper in New Zealand for 4 weeks. Along the way we will of course also visit various types of caches in beautiful places, including this one. Thanks CO for creating and laying this cache.
Together with Travelser I'm going Down Under. We are driving around with a motorhome. After 7 weeks driving around through Australia we arrived the 2th November in New Zealand. For ten days we will cross the Northern Island and than for 2 weeks the Southern Island.During our trip we of course search for several caches. Most of them brought us to very nice spots, like this one.All the CO's, and in this case gracie7 + Mum, thanks for bringing us here and give our trip a special accent.
#5.580What a stunning view we experienced here. Thanks for placing a cache at this place.TFTC says team mastba from Hamburg/Germany
TFTC was travelling across Arthur’s Pass from CHC to the West Coast and stopped here to have a look at a board…
What a fantastic spot to stop to view the entrance to Arthur's Pass National Park.
Although we had light rain and drizzle all the way from Christchurch to here there was a tiny bit of sunlight beyond Arthur's Pass that gave us hope of some clear weather.
A quick rummage around in likely spots had me come up with the cache in hand.
Thanks for making us stop in this lovely spot

We briefly stopped here to get shots of the river, mountains, and the rainbow that came out. Unfortunately, we had to go before I could make the find.
Day 1 of a 4 day road trip. Today we're heading east to west, final destination Arthur"s Pass. There's a fair few k's to cover before we reach our destination. Bealey Bridge, the big bridge. Didn't take too long to find.Popular spot today. TFTC
Passing through on a tiki tour around the mainland. Thanks for hiding gracie7 + Mum
Found on our trip to the west coast. Just had to be one here. First for 2023. Left a diamond Thanks for the cache.
Heading to Christchurch on a Geocaching mission. A quick park and grab. Stunning scenery. TFTC
Wonderful sunny day driving from Chch to Greymouth. A little bird came to investigate while I signed the log. Thanks for cache.
A quick park and grab while on a day trip to Arthurs Pass grabbing a few roadside caches on the way back. Steady rain falling on this normally dry weather cacher so we had a break for lunch here; TFTC
Making slow progress having to do all the photo shots (and caches when the 2 coincide.tftc
Very well hidden, nice and dry cache. Glad to get a few caches along here - not easy parking g in a motor home. Thank you.
Nice easy place to pull over included one car and horse cart (full of hay and picnic no horse) and a car letting to little dogs have a break. Out with busy paws when clear we had a look and Mr C was happy to make the find. Thanks for this cache gracie7 + Mum.
Setting off from having spent the night at the Bealey Hotel - highly recommend for a stop over in the newly refurbished units. GPS was spot on , I guess having open space helped. Perfectly fine morning. TFTC
I haven't done much caching lately so I decided to go for a drive and stopped here. Great location for a cache ... happy it was a quick find with real good coordinates. Thanks gracie7 + mum.
Heading toward Greymouth to drop off a work vehicle and bring another back, I stopped here to stretch the legs and take a photo for my millions of instagram followers (lol).... This job is certainly enabling me to see a lot of the South Island.. and as a new import from up north, I'm not complaining. I thought there'd be a cache nearby, and there certainly was! Thanks for the placement ;D
TFTC gracie7 + Mum, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 1 today, making this find #2854

Mum had a Lion weekend in Lincoln and so we fit in abit of maintenance on the way home this afternoon. Just a random stop to check on this one today. All good here. Happy Caching
GPS was a bit off for me and couldn’t load any details so just did a search and had cache soon in hand. Tftc
This morning we are going to Castle Hill village. The light at the parc sign was beautiful, so we stopped both for a picture and a cache. We also saw the remants of the old bridge. Both container and logbook were in good condition. Thanks for the cache!
I have been enjoying this BTG series and so many different bridges. Such a lot of work has gone into placing and maintaining them. TFTH
Third cache for the morning. This was about 10/15minutes drive past where I needed to turn off but as it was the one cache I really wanted to find this morning and I still had time I kept on driving towards the rain in the hope I would get to the bridge before the rain arrived down the valley.
Looked at the hint and was befuddled but followed the arrow and was rewarded with a quick find. Cache in good condition.
As the rain threatened to start falling I took a few quick snaps on the phone and jumped in the car to head back to my turn off.
Thanks for the cache. Not much over two hours to get here from home so I think I will have to make a point of bringing the boys out at some stage this year to explore some of the reserves.

I am mainly locating and signing off th BtG series and any others that get in the way.
One of the BtGs.
Cheers for the cache.

Found on our way home. For once there was a break in the traffic and sightseers. Thanks for the cache!
I've been interested in finding this series of caches ever since they were published. Finally, I'm here. I think this is only the second time I've been on this road, the first time was probably a one-stop trip, silly eh! I much prefer taking my time, stopping lots, having a good look around and - - - just breathing the air. Thanks for helping me do just that!
Nice easy find on our way south from Arthurs pass. Thank you so much for placing a cache here. Nice to stop and read about the river and have a rest.

Picking up a few local caches on our rest day, on the way to the cafe for lunch! TFTC
We are heading home. 4 days to get from Springfield to Bealey?? Caching is slow going. Now its homeward bound with a couple of quick stops along the way to break things up. Last of the BtG is Bealey with a quick find here. Cheers
Monday today, and first up is Bealy Spur Track for the morning, then home via Lake Brunner and Murchison later today.
Its Queens Birthday weekend and The Seagnoid, Zara and I are heading out of town for a long weekend to Arthurs Pass, via Kaikoura. Had a fantastic weekend, seeing lots of new places, limestone formations, amazing views, awesome beech forest walks, but getting nowhere fast. Bloody cold at times with -3deg frosts but thankfully the snow stayed on the top of the highest mountains.. Enjoyed driving back via Lake Brunner, Murchison. An awesome few days exploring.

Yay! Not a barrier cache! There is a bunch of peopleplaying down at the river, but they did not see us.
Taybeedragon and I are on a five day extended Queen's Birthday weekend. Happy birthday marm! The plan was to cache the Arthur's Pass route, from Rangiora to Lake Buller. You would think four days was enough to do the 211 kilometers, but we didn't even manage the 130 to Arthur's Pass village before we had to pull the pin Monday lunchtime for the drive back to Blenheim. But on the way we saw some amazing views, strange geology, weird amounts of ice in the puddles, ice on the inside of our windscreen - it was that cold. Caves, wonderful beech forests, rather a lot of bridge barriers and even a cache or few. And there was blisters, sliding down icy grassy hills on our bums (what fun!) and rather a lot of walking. Many thanks to all the cache owners that made this such an amazing trip.

Greetings from Scotland. We are enjoying an extended holiday in New Zealand. Today we decided to take the drive to Arthur's Pass as we had blue skies and sunshine. We drove into the parking after crossing the bridge. The views were spectacular. We are amazed at the valley. It was as flat as a billiard table but we guess the whole area will be flooded during the melt. It is hard to imagine. The water we did see was so crystal clear. While MrF was off with the camera, and the pen, taking photos, MrsF found the cache. It was another 5 minutes before she had a pen to sign the log!

On our way from hokitika to christchurch stopping logs. Danke fürs Legen und Pflegen. Kind regards from Switzerland.
Day 4 of our West Coast road trip and time to head back to Christchurch. Stopped to collect these park and grabs whenever we could safely pull over - had to miss a few as too many cars behind us. Amazing views from here today. TFTC
After a quick visit to Greymouth with Nosynel and Ethness it is time to go home. My plan is to get the BtG series completed with a few others. Please excuse the boring repetitive logs! I had to wait to locate this one, for a group of campervan muggles to stop talking at gz and go back to their vehicles Thanks for the cache, CO.
