Great to break up a drive, good fun. Appreciate the effort with the BtG series and maintenance. TFTC
A lumpaili teda dost. Cel sever jsem nevidla a i v ostatnch stech ostrova mi zbyla msta, kam bych se jet chtla podvat.I slept today in a nearby bizarre hotel Otira Stagecoach Hotel and in the morning I set off for a mountain ride on the Grand Alpine Hwy. It was beautiful sunny weather and I really enjoyed the trip with views, caches and a few walks. I was also very amused by the Kea parrots, which take care of the entertainment of tourists in Arthurs Pass at the caf. I found a total of 40 caches and in the evening I arrived in Christchurch, from where I am leaving tomorrow for the North Island. Thanks to everyone for the caches and greetings from the Czech Republic.
Lets try this again. After a small foot injury stopped us from going further last week, we are back to do our maintenance check day up to Springfield... and of course it had to rain (sigh) As it was currently just a constant spit we decided to stick it out as far as we could hoping we would come into the forecasted good weather soon. This was our eighth stop. Everything is all good here. Happy Caching
Second time I have gotten one of the caches in this series so was really straight forward but helps my very low total, TFTC
Found along the way from east to the west part of South island. Beautiful countryside. TFTC
On the drive to go for a walk we pulled over to find this one. A nice quick find and the log is all good. Thanks for the cache.
Had to wait for muggles to drive past before being able to grab this one and log it. TFTC
Went on a road trip with my daughter CalumD out to the West Coast and collected this while passing. A quick and easy find. TFTC.
Another quick find. I’m really enjoying the drive and knocking off so many caches. Tftc
I am out on my own today, big bro had other things to do and besides he has found these caches earlier.
I am mainly locating and signing off th BtG series and any others that get in the way.
One of the BtGs.
Cheers for the cache.

A summer trip with snow on the peaks and a wind chill of 5 degrees!! to fill in the gaps of my 43 south challenge. Thankfully a quick PnG TFTC
Nice easy find on a great day out. this is such a lovely area and make a great drive. TFTH
Thank you for this cache & the series, gracie7 + Mum.
Driving eastwards - and there was brief spell in the rain, so I stopped here and found this cache easily.

I've been interested in finding this series of caches ever since they were published. Finally, I'm here. I think this is only the second time I've been on this road, the first time was probably a one-stop trip, silly eh! I much prefer taking my time, stopping lots, having a good look around and - - - just breathing the air. Thanks for helping me do just that!
We were driving home to Christchurch and could pull over in motorhome. Went and found cache so glad as had no reception. Thanks for this cache Gracie7 + Mum.
Just had to stop off to visit Craigieburn Stream. Quick snag and tag. Cheers
Its Saturday and we explored from Lake Lyndon to Coal Pit Spur Track. So lets go!!
Its Queens Birthday weekend and The Seagnoid, Zara and I are heading out of town for a long weekend to Arthurs Pass, via Kaikoura. Had a fantastic weekend, seeing lots of new places, limestone formations, amazing views, awesome beech forest walks, but getting nowhere fast. Bloody cold at times with -3deg frosts but thankfully the snow stayed on the top of the highest mountains.. Enjoyed driving back via Lake Brunner, Murchison. An awesome few days exploring.

Taybeedragon and I are on a five day extended Queen's Birthday weekend. Happy birthday marm! The plan was to cache the Arthur's Pass route, from Rangiora to Lake Buller. You would think four days was enough to do the 211 kilometers, but we didn't even manage the 130 to Arthur's Pass village before we had to pull the pin Monday lunchtime for the drive back to Blenheim. But on the way we saw some amazing views, strange geology, weird amounts of ice in the puddles, ice on the inside of our windscreen - it was that cold. Caves, wonderful beech forests, rather a lot of bridge barriers and even a cache or few. And there was blisters, sliding down icy grassy hills on our bums (what fun!) and rather a lot of walking. Many thanks to all the cache owners that made this such an amazing trip.
Day 4 of our West Coast road trip and time to head back to Christchurch. Stopped to collect these park and grabs whenever we could safely pull over - had to miss a few as too many cars behind us. TFTC
After a quick visit to Greymouth with Nosynel and Ethness it is time to go home. My plan is to get the BtG series completed with a few others. Please excuse the boring repetitive logs! I overshot this and had to go back. Thanks for the cache, CO.

Onto the trail proper now, it's caching all the way for lots of park n grabs and a couple of modest walks.
It's the last full day of the trip and I intended to make the most of the day and was up with the lark, cockerel more like, and in the car at 0530 ready to get going. I called in for an early brekkie and hit the road early to meet Ricardinho.nz at Springfield. We cached our way back to the West Coast via road barriers and others en route and I set off for home after leaving him in Greymouth after visiting all 8 of the TMGT caches there. Home at 7PM and a decent haul of over 80 caches, including 5 Earthcaches. Awesome scenery and views and a cracker day of weather too. 620KMS for the day travelled and time for a rest!
It's that time of year again when Marlborough residents get a double bubble, two 3-day weekends in a row and a chance to get out there and find some caches. Last weekend I headed over to Golden Bay with ricardinho and we managed a healthy numbers-boosting haul of 82 over 2 days. This weekend I'm planning on finding some already solved Canterbury caches and get me closer to a 5 figure finds number, the big 10,000. At the start of toSaturday this was a 4 day, at the end it was a 120 plus day!!
The Saturday was planned to be a big day and to get over 100 caches in a day if possible and start converting those puzzle pieces into smiley faces. Success was achieved in that we found over 120 each. I personally found my missing Smurfs, Metal Mania, Glossary of Geocaching as well as a number of other solves and collateral Traditionals. The Canterbury weather turned it on and a good day was had with ric.nz driving and me navigating (sort of)
The Sunday was a Geo-art loose ends day. My plan wqas to track down the remaining Smurfs, round up some horses and grab a couple of loose Eclipse mint tins. I also explored the realms of Springfield in preparation for a return across SH73 on Monday.

Last day of the long weekend and a long drive back to Blenheim via Greymouth (yep, that’s right) with the goal of getting a whole heap of ‘bridge the gap’ caches and anything else easily accessible or interesting.
With a lot of kms to travel, there was not room for much more unfortunately.
So a successful trip but the real heroes were the weather and the scenery.
I had forgotten a bit how stunning it can be in and around places like Castle Hill and Arthur’s Pass, and a great spring day with snow-capped mountains for a backdrop made a bit of a self-inflicted slog actually quite enjoyable.
Thanks all COs, and sorry for the cut and paste, but I hope you can understand why. All logs signed Cap/ricnz or variations on the theme.

Out and about over the Easter weekend grabbing some caches as I head to Christchurch via the west coast. Thank you for placing all these wonderful caches out for me to find. Had fun looking in, under , around and behind to find them. Apologies for the cut and paste logs. Your caches made the trip a lot more interesting with some adventure thrown in. TFTC
Another quick stop for us here, we're getting good at finding the bridge caches. Thanks for the series
This series was the main reason for our trip today and we have now found them all except one where there were too many people in the adjacent carpark to risk looking for it.
Thanks to this and other finds I now need only one more find to get hold of that elusive World Turtle.
Thank you gracie7 + Mum

We are on a mission today trying to get the numbers for the Hidden Creatures Challenge. We were committed to some caches around Cass but also to our habit of caching back. Meaning travel as far as the furthest away cache planned for the day then find the caches on the way home. It meant a round trip of about 400km and meeting our objective in the process Overall the weather was nice to us although thick fog in the morning slowed us down for a while. We finished the BtG series that we started in May 2013 but for one that had to many prying eyes from parked vehicles. The weather conditions were from thick fog, freezing rain to bright sunshine, ink black night sky and in temperatures from below zero to rather pleasant. We awarded a fav for the series to the Master Cache. Thank you gracie7 + Mum
On our trip from Arthur Pass to Cristchurch we had a lot of stops and discoverd caches like this. TFTC!
We were heading to Christchurch so thought we would go this way. We were really impressed with the amount of safe parking at these caches through here. As we were in a campervan we only stop where we feel safe and where we feel other road users won't get upset with us. Thanks for the BtG series
As there is no opportunity to pass this slow truck we decided to grab a cache instead. Well, we were to quick as we still had to crawl behind them. Last cache for today, TFTC
Today's mission was a drive from Christchurch to Greymouth on my way home to Nelson. Trying to find 'a few' caches along the way. It's been ages since I travelled this route so there were actually heaps of caches to find and at the end of the day my tally was 81. Biggest cache day for me for a while. One of my objectives for the day was to find as many BtG caches as I could. I managed to find quite a few. A few DNFs. A few DNAs due to muggles or distraction. BtG counter = 8. TFTC, Biggles.

This had been a day in the planning, and a day to look forward to for quite a while!! I took the day off motherhood, left the baby girl with daddy, and headed out to go find some caches - heaps & heaps of caches! - with my mum. Trying to get closer to knocking out as many of those within 80km of home as possible. Not too bad, as I think we found 51 in the end! Well, 51 for me, and a few less for mum. Plus the weather mostly held out!
TFTC!!

A good sign of addiction - leaving the grandchild behind while going caching with your adult daughter! We finally found a day we could both get away, and we headed off into the wild to find some! Great day, even though the weather was a little suboptimal. Lots of fun, TFTC!!!
Heading back to Christchurch and grabbing a few of these handy caches on the way past. Was well dark and little traffic so was a quick find - SL and left as found.
Thanks for the placement of this series gracie7 + Mum.

I went to the wrong side initially but funnily enough... at the coords there was a cache. Cheers

A quick find on the way over to Christchurch via Arthurs Pass, Thanks for the whole series.
Another quick find! Lovely smell coming from the flowers! Peaches and nectarines! TFTC
Had some flashing lights from oncoming cars so was expecting to see a cop but didn't see him till he was approaching just after we were pulling away after signing off this one. TFTC #8764
Still snowing as I sit here typing my log. Altitude shows 678m
No snow is settling just yet but the mountains around are now showing a dusting down to fairly low levels.
Thanks

We must not leave it as long as another 5 years to travel this road. Lovely today and we have left caches for another day. But not this one.
Thanks for another smiley.
Thanks for another smiley.
Found on way over to Greymouth.Do not travel this way very often so had to get a couple of caches.TFTC
Quick find on my way to the klondyke to finish off the 43° challenge tftc
Gracie7 + Mum have dramatically slowed the Arthurs Pass travel time. There was a time this was Moneydork's domain. I came back to NZ for Mega2015 and passed this way in my travels. So thanks for the caches.
Mega trip to NZ: day 4, alone with my beloved squib. We wanted to drive towards west coast (turned back after Arthur's pass) and find some caches. Thanks for the fun and greetings from Finland.
On my way home after another wonderful MEGA weekend.
My reason for driving home this way. To collect a few more of the BtG series.

On our epic CANZ trip around the South Island. Yesterday we found CANZ Marlborough plus a few others and then headed to Nelson, in the rain and wind. Found CANZ Nelson and soon followed that with CANZ Tasman. 3 down. 4 to go.
We changed the plan and decided to head off through Greymouth and get CANZ West Coast, and carry on to Christchurch. It rained all the way but was intermittent though the pass. It was snowing when we got to CANZ but was okay after we came down into the valley.
Having found CANZ West Coast we kept going and picked off a few of the easy drive by's on our way . This was the third BtG we found and it had to be the last or we would never get to Christchurch. It was shame we had to miss so many of the series but we just did not have the time.
Thanks gracie7 + Mum. Another smilie on the road through Arthur's Pass. Maybe one day we will return and complete the series. Maybe, Rotorua is a long way away. lol.

Today is day three of NZDi's and my Blenheim - Christchurch - Greymouth - Blenheim triangular caching trip and while yesterday was all about quality caches, today is about numbers. Today we did our biggest day ever, 50 caches. Most of todays caches were pretty generic but there were a coupe of gems. Our logs were annotated Kiwimykl and NZDi, KM & ND or variations there of.

Quick find on the way home. Not much traffic here today. Just up the road from here a couple of buses are stopped and checking their chains. I would imagine that would make it a hair raising ride! I prefer being in a 4WD! TFTC
Today's trip was from Christchurch to Greymouth (one way)... planned it the morning of and making it up as I go along. Set off at about 6am, as my bad luck would have it, last night was one of the coldest nights in years for most parts of the country, so no surprise there was black ice throughout central Christchurch. Wasn't too bad the rest of the way however, I stopped in Darfield for a while to wait for the sun to come up - hard snow on the ground from here onwards. The contractors had done a great job keeping the highway passable. Arrived in Greymouth at about 5pm. TFTC (2077)
6729. On our way over to the Wet Coast for a week at Kumara. This was our twelfth find of thirty four cache finds on our journey. Another quick park and grab at another safe stopping place. We are enjoying the BtG series, and the lovely driving conditions today. Thanks for the cache. Rodney and Iris.
On the way to visit grandsons and thought I would get a few more as there seems to be a friendly war with our cousins with geocaching. I done some of the BtG caches a couple of day earlier and enjoyed. Thank you gracie7 + Mum for all of your caches. TFTC
On an epic caching mission with Shannonp1 through Reefton to Greymouth over the Lewis Pass, cacheing in Greymouth then returning to Rangiora via Arthurs Pass over two days. Final count for the weekend was over 200 caches. Quick easy find on our way past.
