A quick stop on our way to Castle Hill. Such a beautiful day today.
Nice hide.

We are over on a maintenance daytrip to check on a dozen or so Smurfs for various reasons (mostly trival) We stopped here to replace the broken container. The logbook is nice and dry so it All good to go here again. Happy Caching
Day 1 of a 4 day road trip. Today we're heading east to west, final destination Arthur"s Pass. There's a fair few k's to cover before we reach our destination. It's good to be finding BtG caches again. TFTC
Found it! The one-lane bridges on this drive are scary to stop and get out at, but this one was big and had lots of space, so out I hopped. No problems, cache found! TFTC!
Found while out on a tour of the West Coast with Thedbees. Nice and easy park and grab. TFTC
Went on a road trip with my daughter CalumD out to the West Coast and collected this while passing. A quick and easy find. TFTC.
Went to get this and realised I already got it in September lol must not have logged for some reason. Tftc
Found while driving from Christchurch over to Hokitika. Flat plains to the sky and now into the foothills. Magic scenic country. TFTC
Early morning find en route to a day hike. Very few cars around made this much easier to find. Thanks for the cache
I am out on my own today, big bro had other things to do and besides he has found these caches earlier.
I am mainly locating and signing off th BtG series and any others that get in the way.
One of the BtGs.
Cheers for the cache.

We knew if we stopped for all the caches on the road we would still be on the road. However we did find a few more to the BtG caches today. Quick find as expected.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Will do a cut and paste for these bridge caches, All found on a rainy day with Coconuts3, but a bit of humour and willing to get the smilies, who cares?! TFTC
Out with busy paws for a days caching. This is a very clever cache hide that I looked past first time. Thanks for the cache gracie7 + Mum.
The penultimate bridge for me, one more to go. I came across a couple of Kowai, or maybe Kowhai bridges the next day going up the east coast and wondered if one of them crossed the same river but no, of course not, I just double checked and this river flows into the mighty Waimakariri.
A quick find on our road trip home the long way - log signed - thanks for the cache
Hey another BTG to slow us down along the way. Cheers
Friday today, we explored from Rangiora to Lake Lyndon
Its Queens Birthday weekend and The Seagnoid, Zara and I are heading out of town for a long weekend to Arthurs Pass, via Kaikoura. Had a fantastic weekend, seeing lots of new places, limestone formations, amazing views, awesome beech forest walks, but getting nowhere fast. Bloody cold at times with -3deg frosts but thankfully the snow stayed on the top of the highest mountains.. Enjoyed driving back via Lake Brunner, Murchison. An awesome few days exploring.

Taybeedragon and I are on a five day extended Queen's Birthday weekend. Happy birthday marm! The plan was to cache the Arthur's Pass route, from Rangiora to Lake Buller. You would think four days was enough to do the 211 kilometers, but we didn't even manage the 130 to Arthur's Pass village before we had to pull the pin Monday lunchtime for the drive back to Blenheim. But on the way we saw some amazing views, strange geology, weird amounts of ice in the puddles, ice on the inside of our windscreen - it was that cold. Caves, wonderful beech forests, rather a lot of bridge barriers and even a cache or few. And there was blisters, sliding down icy grassy hills on our bums (what fun!) and rather a lot of walking. Many thanks to all the cache owners that made this such an amazing trip.
Day 4 of our West Coast road trip and time to head back to Christchurch. Stopped to collect these park and grabs whenever we could safely pull over - had to miss a few as too many cars behind us. This is the last cache for the day (and the road trip) as Google maps is now indicating that we have to head for the airport. TFTC
After a quick visit to Greymouth with Nosynel and Ethness it is time to go home. My plan is to get the BtG series completed with a few others. Please excuse the boring repetitive logs! Thanks for the cache, CO. I thought your new logbooks were great and in some cases I was the first to sign. And actually after I logged the last one saying the series was done I realised I hadnt logged 2 more. Duh!
Onto the trail proper now, it's caching all the way for lots of park n grabs and a couple of modest walks.
It's the last full day of the trip and I intended to make the most of the day and was up with the lark, cockerel more like, and in the car at 0530 ready to get going. I called in for an early brekkie and hit the road early to meet Ricardinho.nz at Springfield. We cached our way back to the West Coast via road barriers and others en route and I set off for home after leaving him in Greymouth after visiting all 8 of the TMGT caches there. Home at 7PM and a decent haul of over 80 caches, including 5 Earthcaches. Awesome scenery and views and a cracker day of weather too. 620KMS for the day travelled and time for a rest!
It's that time of year again when Marlborough residents get a double bubble, two 3-day weekends in a row and a chance to get out there and find some caches. Last weekend I headed over to Golden Bay with ricardinho and we managed a healthy numbers-boosting haul of 82 over 2 days. This weekend I'm planning on finding some already solved Canterbury caches and get me closer to a 5 figure finds number, the big 10,000. At the start of toSaturday this was a 4 day, at the end it was a 120 plus day!!
The Saturday was planned to be a big day and to get over 100 caches in a day if possible and start converting those puzzle pieces into smiley faces. Success was achieved in that we found over 120 each. I personally found my missing Smurfs, Metal Mania, Glossary of Geocaching as well as a number of other solves and collateral Traditionals. The Canterbury weather turned it on and a good day was had with ric.nz driving and me navigating (sort of)
The Sunday was a Geo-art loose ends day. My plan wqas to track down the remaining Smurfs, round up some horses and grab a couple of loose Eclipse mint tins. I also explored the realms of Springfield in preparation for a return across SH73 on Monday.

Last day of the long weekend and a long drive back to Blenheim via Greymouth (yep, that’s right) with the goal of getting a whole heap of ‘bridge the gap’ caches and anything else easily accessible or interesting.
With a lot of kms to travel, there was not room for much more unfortunately.
So a successful trip but the real heroes were the weather and the scenery.
I had forgotten a bit how stunning it can be in and around places like Castle Hill and Arthur’s Pass, and a great spring day with snow-capped mountains for a backdrop made a bit of a self-inflicted slog actually quite enjoyable.
Thanks all COs, and sorry for the cut and paste, but I hope you can understand why. All logs signed Cap/ricnz or variations on the theme.

Always great to get another bridge cache a bit of a power trail cache all good here
Out and about over the Easter weekend grabbing some caches as I head to Christchurch via the west coast. Thank you for placing all these wonderful caches out for me to find. Had fun looking in, under , around and behind to find them. Apologies for the cut and paste logs. Your caches made the trip a lot more interesting with some adventure thrown in. TFTC
I had no phone coverage here so was hoping that this would be in a logical spot. Thanks for the cache
This series was the main reason for our trip today and we have now found them all except one where there were too many people in the adjacent carpark to risk looking for it.
Thanks to this and other finds I now need only one more find to get hold of that elusive World Turtle.
Thank you gracie7 + Mum

We are on a mission today trying to get the numbers for the Hidden Creatures Challenge. We were committed to some caches around Cass but also to our habit of caching back. Meaning travel as far as the furthest away cache planned for the day then find the caches on the way home. It meant a round trip of about 400km and meeting our objective in the process Overall the weather was nice to us although thick fog in the morning slowed us down for a while. We finished the BtG series that we started in May 2013 but for one that had to many prying eyes from parked vehicles. The weather conditions were from thick fog, freezing rain to bright sunshine, ink black night sky and in temperatures from below zero to rather pleasant. We awarded a fav for the series to the Master Cache. Thank you gracie7 + Mum
Out for a days caching from Christchurch......been planning this day for ages. Tftc
On our trip from Arthur Pass to Cristchurch we had a lot of stops and discoverd caches like this. TFTC!
We were heading to Christchurch so thought we would go this way. We were really impressed with the amount of safe parking at these caches through here. As we were in a campervan we only stop where we feel safe and where we feel other road users won't get upset with us. Thanks for the BtG series
Today's mission was a drive from Christchurch to Greymouth on my way home to Nelson. Trying to find 'a few' caches along the way. It's been ages since I travelled this route so there were actually heaps of caches to find and at the end of the day my tally was 81. Biggest cache day for me for a while. One of my objectives for the day was to find as many BtG caches as I could. I managed to find quite a few. A few DNFs. A few DNAs due to muggles or distraction. BtG counter = 2. TFTC, Biggles.
The cache container was not hard to find - but it took me quite a while to extract it from a very difficult placing. Too easy to see, but almost impossible to extract, requiring the improvisation of several innovative tools. I'm certain the last person(s) placed it back in error. So it is now at the same coordinates, well hidden, but easy to extract. Thanks and cheers from Grandalf(2498)
Thanks for setting up this interesting series. I'm looking forward to completing it. TFTH

This had been a day in the planning, and a day to look forward to for quite a while!! I took the day off motherhood, left the baby girl with daddy, and headed out to go find some caches - heaps & heaps of caches! - with my mum. Trying to get closer to knocking out as many of those within 80km of home as possible. Not too bad, as I think we found 51 in the end! Well, 51 for me, and a few less for mum. Plus the weather mostly held out!
TFTC!!

Quick P+G on the way through. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25.
Out on a casual drive around exploring some more, and grabbing some caches on the way. Aiming to start the lolly scramble series on the return trip home. Having done a few of the Cats&Dragons Waikato Progress caches, I had a good idea of what to expect here, and I was right.
TFTC gracie7 + Mum, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 7 find of 29 today, making this find #1381

A quick find on the way over to Christchurch via Arthurs Pass, Thanks for the whole series.
One of 25 caches located today on trip from Christchurch to Greymouth via Arthurs Pass. Light/medium rain most of day but still enjoyed the scenery and a leisurely drive. #1220. TFTC.
Went on a big adventure with Wafflekitties and geo pups, had a blast thanks for the memories! TFTC.
Found while on holiday in the South Island with LCBuilder and our two geodogs. We spent 3 weeks travelling down the east coast and then up the west coast, moving to a different campsite each night. We got a few geocaches along our way; our best day was 41 and our worst was 6 we saw a lot of awesome sights and will definitely have to come back one day! TFTC!
Found on a cold damp and windy morning. On my way to Arthurs pass for a visit
Thanks
Thanks
Managed to catch up with the slow car again, so the next stop. Maybe we have to overtake at some point. TFTC
Found on our south island trip. The muggle family were getting a bit grumpy at the stop start of our caching.
In CHCH with the main goal to have a great time with friends and to go caving on Sunday . Stopped together with the CeeZeeWees for a couple of smiley's on our way to the Cave Stream. TFTC
Having a great run on our trip to the coast. Wish we had more time (and coverage!!) tftc
I was fortunate enough to be able to squeeze an 11 day holiday out of two leave days!! I headed out west to find some caches, see some sights, and relax before the madness of the semester hits. The weather was unbelievably good, only a bit of a storm over Arthur's Pass on the first day, otherwise hot and sunny. I found a great variety of caches, drive by's, walks, hikes, even a power trail. Thank you to all the CO's for their great hides!!!
[green]Find #623 [/green]
Third find of the day!
We were out today going around the South Island, finding some caches. This was the third cache we found. We found the best point of entry to the cache from where we were.
After parking the car nearby, we headed off to GZ. A quick search resulted in a find with spot on coordinates. I stealthily retrieved the cache, signed the logbook and replaced it as I found it.
Thanks for the nice easy cache.
Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing
Coordinates were perfect and contents and cache were in good condition.
Well done.

Today's trip was from Arthur's Pass to Springfield. We are at the last evening with our camper van. Have had very nice time here in NZ. TFTC
After a full on day yesterday conquering Mt Bealey and swimming across lake Pearson a leisurely drive back to Geraldine today picking up a few P and G s along the way was a good plan
another one down tftc

Gracie7 + Mum have dramatically slowed the Arthurs Pass travel time. There was a time this was Moneydork's domain. I came back to NZ for Mega2015 and passed this way in my travels. So thanks for the caches.
