#17384. A glorious sunny Saturday and we are set to ride the Trail from Fish Creek to Foster and return with the dog trailer attached and 2 doggies on board. The most scenic Rail Trail I have ever ridden. The surface was fantastic and the gradient nice and easy. The two doglets thought they were greyhounds and wanted to run and run for a good part of the journey. Both tiny tots with legs about 4 inches long.
The only disappointment was that our PQ's were a few days out of date so we didn't realise that most of the caches we aimed for were either disabled or archived. Bad timing on our part. A week too late. Fortunately we did find a few though.
I had this one on the GPSr so we stopped to look for it, and found it. I was surprised to see only two names in there since the log book was replaced in September last year. Such a beautiful place to stop along here.
Thanks de ja vu

Staying at Fish Creek with awphoto.
Today with BettyBoo3747 and the geo-dogs, we rode from Fish Creek to Foster.
Collected a few odd caches and some great views.
Unfortunately, there seems to have been a lot of archiving in this section that we were not up with.
It is certainly a lovely ride with great views. The cuttings with lots of pine needles were nice to ride through.
Thanks, Robmc.

Due to changed life circumstances, and traveling to this area less often, we have reduced some of the caches that have required more regular maintenance. This cache has been removed.
Riding bike on rail trail and convinced hubby we needed a break. Right where a cache was of course thanks for lovely dry new log and cache
The cache container is reportedly damaged but still concealed as originally hidden, and dry. We will endeavour to check the cache container in the coming weeks.

###**CACHE OWNER ACTION REQUIRED PLEASE**###
----------
Hi there Cache Owner,
This cache has come to my notice as there is a 'Needs Maintenance' log that that indicates there is some sort of issue with the placement and it needs your attention please.
Check out the Guidelines here: [**cache owners responsibilities.**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines#listingmaintenance) If you can't attend to the issue promptly, then you need to [**Disable the cache**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=235) - I have Disabled it for you this time.
**Can you please respond to this situation (or indicated your intention) within 14 days,** so others know exactly what is happening with this cache?
You have lots of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:
- Check on the cache, repair and/or replace the cache or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache.**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) Then sit back and wait for the praises.
- If you really hope to get it fixed but there is some unusual reason why you can't do it soon, then at least post a Write Note log (within 14 days). Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. For ongoing issues (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 28 days so as to keep everyone up to speed.
- If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it,**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56) so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when I next look at the cache page, it is likely that I will unfortunately have to de-list (Archive) it on the basis that it has been abandoned.
Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

Got to Foster yesterday after disembarking ex Tasmania. Visited Cranbourne Australian Botanic Gardens on the way. Excellent. Needs more time to fully appreciate. Discovered the GSRT at Foster so unloaded the bikes and headed out to get the views from Hoddle Hills. Didn't linger long, but grabbed this one on the downhill return. Container is broken, but has not let the rain in yet. TFTC de ja vu.
Find 2087
Wow this one had us all over the place. GPS took me both sides of the cutting. Nothing was showing up. Standing in the middle of the track I gave it another go and used some geosense. Finally it was discovered. Container is damaged slightly but seems ok for now. Log signed and all back safe again.
Nice views around this section.
Thanks

A bit tricky with the GPS random distances and direction.
Cache in not bad condition.
Cache in not bad condition.
We had a great day out riding and caching on the trail and if I was really fit we would have gone on longer. We will be back to enjoy a more of this great series. Tyftc
Couldn’t find anything hollow or anything that hid a cache for about 30m along the track.
frmen1 and I were in the area crossing a job off the list. We noticed that we had five caches on the rail that we hadn't got so we went for the 6km walk.
the canopy played havoc with the gps, so we had to stand on the track, get our bearings and then hunt. Took us about 5mins. The container in broken and the swap items are manky. The log is dry. TFTC

BRING IT ON!!
Found the easy way to the cache and found it on the ground. Contact a bit damaged but contents dry. Replaced in a nearby spot that fitted hint. TFTC
Found on a lovely day out on the GSRT! The rain was starting to come back, but it wasn't too cold in the end. Once at GZ, it was another very quick find. TFTC de ja vu!
GPS had us looking up the wrong bank (did find a quails nest with 2 eggs) but we eventually found it.Thanks dejavu.
It was Miss Glish's turn to find this one. She spotted it from afar. We left a bike riding button, which is apt given today's mode of transport! TFTC
Found by the geo-crew during a very pleasant Sunday afternoon ride from Foster to the top of the Hoddle Hills and back. The peddle up was pretty easy and the views from the top were devine, but the roll back down was the best. Many thanks de ja vu
Travelling around Australia in our Caravan with our cat, we are currently based in Foster.
Headed out today on the Geobikes to tackle some more of the GSRT. A magnificent day today for riding the rail trail. Some of the trail has been dug up by riders on wet days but all dry today. Managed to even get a touch of sunburn. All up today 30km return trip for us, but with no DNF's
TFTC and letting us use Geocaching to tour the local area. Looking forward to meeting other geocachers at the next Australian Geocaching Mega event

A big day out caching with friends Liz & Bruce in the Fish creek to foster area. On our bikes mostly along the rail trails and some along the way. Mostly they were fairly easy finds and the co-ords very good. Thanks to de ja vu for hiding this cache.
Today was rail trail day so with two foldup bikes in the car we were on a mission plus our additional aim was to do some of the other caches around this scenic and delightful area. This was one of the caches we targetted and were able to find in conjunction with caching friends LazzaL. Thanks to de ja vu.
Found on our "Making Memories" Tour of Mainland Australia.
Today we explored Foster and surrounds using geocaching as our guide.
Our target today was the GSRT and we thoroughly enjoyed the journey to this series of caches and appreciate the time taken to hide and maintain them for our enjoyment. We were impressed with the quality and variety of the hides. Thanks de ja vu a memorable days caching. To have experienced this trail on a train would have been an awesome experience.

Decided to tackle the Great Southern Rail today on bike so started at Leongatha then on to Koonwarra through to Meeniyan where I stopped for lunch at Moos ( that was yum, well worth it if you are looking for a good feed ) then it was on to Stony Creek then over to Buffalo and across to Fish Creek then down to Foster where I finished, a total of 47.6 km one way. I collected 45 caches along the way and only 3 dnf's. Thanks De Ja Vu for the caches and the series
Found 12:01:00 PM, during our joint assault on the Great Souther Rail Trail. We started in Fish Creekand headed towards Foster finding a total of 23 caches for the day.
TNLN, thanks de ja vu.
TNLN, thanks de ja vu.
Out for a bike ride along the rail today, but a bit wet. The track got slower as the rain got heavier! GPS also had trouble being accurate probably due to the conditions. Thanks de ja vu for the hide.
Found with Hearse068,Thing no1 and Which way back, Gonefishen07 and Zobo04. Out for some school holiday fun trying to finish this trail. Thanks de ja vu
Found with Thing no2, Hearse068, which way back, Gonefishen07 and Zobo04 on a school holiday caching run. Thanks de ja vu for the cache.
Found while out and about with Zobo04, Hearse068, Thing No1, Thing No2 and Which way back. It was good to get the kids out and about. Hearse068 made the find here I was taking my time as Zobo04 was not feeling to good. I was telling Heares068 that my phone said I was at GZ in the middle of track, she said her's had done the same then started having a hissy fit so she was looking here and there and finally found it. TFTC
Found with Gonefishen07, Hearse068, Thing No1, Thing No2 and Which way back. Out having some school holiday caching fun. We had fun doing the Rail trail caches even if I wasn't feeling the best. TFTC
Gonefishen07 made the find with all GPS's jumping all over the place. School holiday caching trip with Thing no1, Thing no2, Which way back, Gonefishen07 and zobo04
Out and about at large with my caching buddy Slink1 on another legendary caching trip. Bikes deployed where needed, Walking when appropriate, drive by where possible. A big day of caching enjoyment was had by both of us, and a vote of thanks to the cache owners for the effort and placement of the
caches. A quick find here TNLN SL TFTC.

Found this, though it was buried, and not at all visible, beneath some rocks .. hardly necessary when off the track
New coordinates spot on thnks. Found on return visit to the GSRT. This was the 12th cache of the day with some 15km walked.
FlyingPigSquadron has landed! Success -turned out to be almost at the point we focussed on the first time around - just a different way of looking at the spot. TFTC&H De ja vu

We will check our co-ordinates again and adjust as necessary this saturday. What this space....
Like the FlyingPigSquadron we searched high and low but came up empty handed.
We would like to know what "close to the track" means?
Thanks de ja vu for taking the time to set up these caches - we'll be back.

FlyingPigSquadron not cleared for landing! GPS consistently pointed up the slope. Tried from the top and the opposites side but no luck for us.
