Very clever! Took a minute or two to work out what was required - no TOTT's needed! - and the log was in my hand. Great container. Such an obvious cache but also something you'd never look at if you weren't hunting. Really good one
Decide to head north today to get away from the miserable Wellington weather. Most of the day was reasonably warm, but occasional rain and strong winds. On the whole the containers were great (2 or 3 inside each other) with dry logs, but the locations were mostly "throw me down" locations with very poor parking (if any) and lots of lunatics in this area driving down side roads at 100km/h+ speeds. Great container, but not so easy to get open. It took a while to figure out that one end went up and down whilst the other end went round and round. After that was a quick and easy find. Wonder what the pilots think of these people here T4TC
Took some brut force to open, been closed awhile. Good cache! Mr Plod was watching us from a distance, i guess two oldies didn't seem like a national threat
What an awesome cache, hiding in plane view. Thanks for the lovely visit here.Fave point from us
Found on the way up to Taranaki for the weekend. Even got a plane flying overhead while signing the cache.
Having found this cache in Feb I had to bring my ex-defence friend to this spot. And caught this while they were behind be
Quick to spot with all the clearings in the grass if anything the hardest part was putting it back. Cool cache
Today we left Wellington and continued our journey with next stop in Stratford. On our way we stopped for some promising caches and this was one of them. Really interesting construction but we could open it easily and signed the logbook. Thanks for hiding and maintaining the cache.Happy hunting!TFTCschnuckel1[#24151]
Tftc easy find while on a road trip north. Geeze the wind was howling through here
My GPS had me slightly off, but I and I had a rough guesstimate on what sort of thing I'd be looking for, but I but still on seeing this my heart did a little jump.Missing 1wingnut but still secure and closes well
TFTC got here just in time to see an RNZAF Boeing 757 take off too. With mthompson01
# #7,144 #----------Spotted this one with its favourite count so I thought I must check it out here. Took me awhile to find it. Once at GZ, a helpful hint got it open. Very creative find. Another favourite rewarded. All good here. TFTC!!! ----------> All geocaches are signed as mmmPIZZA or mPZ
After years on our bucket list and three cancellations due to Covid, we are thrilled to finally be here. Following several cruises we flew from Sydney, Australia to Wellington, New Zealand to begin our next adventure. Picked up our rental vehicle and will be driving, exploring, hiking, and caching both islands for 3.5 weeks. We didn't time it right to see a plane land nor the lights on, but it was still a cool stop. The grasses were really tall, but we made it to GZ without twisting any ankles and were soon adding our ink to the log. Thanks for adding to our adventure today, Nukeworker and Racquetball Girl, Arkansas, USA
Accio 11:48:57Nearing the end of our fantastic North NZ touring holiday, T4mmmy and I are now heading from south to north for our flight tomorrow. Quick find hereThanks Swaybars69 for entertaining me at this location. *{Overall find #11857}*
Find#1623Out and about today on our eighth full day in New Zealand visiting from . An excellent cache which I had noticed due to all the favourite points. While we were attempting to open the cache a number of fighter planes flew overhead. This is the twenty-second cache working towards fulfilling the challenge cache from across the ditch, in New Zealand, One thousand points of Light Challenge. 409 out of 1 000 points. TFTC
I had signed up for an event called 'The Mudder' in Marton, at the Rangitikei Farmstay, and thought that it was the perfect excuse to take a couple of days off work and go on a 5-day road trip to Whanganui and Palmerston North. All up I travelled 1,650km and found over 200 caches/ad lab stages mostly targeting high favs.Left my accommodation in Himatangi Beach quite early to make the most of the daylight hours before heading back home to Auckland. The gale-force wind overnight had knocked out power over most of the west coast of the lower North Island and blown half of the beach onto my car. It was still quite strong the next day making for a challenging trip with evidence of the storm seen along the way. I quickly located the cache, but getting into it was a whole nother matter. The last finder hadn't secured the cache shut correctly and it took much longer to open as I struggled with a chronic hand injury. Thought I might have had to leave this before I finally got it open. Nice cache container.
Last time I was up here (a month ago) I had a brief look for this one without luck. This time, still at night but without any night flying I felt more confident waving my Torch around and soon had it.
This was a super hide. Only had to find one wing nut (other appears to be missing). Top quality cache found as a helicopter was buzzing over our heads. TFTC

Saw the cache from the car however getting the cache open was something else

Found nice and easy. Bit of hard work after that but I managed. I retrieved a trackable and am moving it along. Thanks for the cache Swaybars69.
This is an interesting container! We dropped off a trackable and we retrieved one.
We saw the huge amount of favourites this one had and we’re compelled to give it a go. Located the cache fairly easily though plenty of holiday traffic to consider not looking conspicuous for. Figured the access to the cache and signed log, an excellent cache for the location!
Cool container, left a trackable (keep it moving) I will keep an eye out for the next one.
Day 11 on our holiday in New Zealand. Today we are in the area and surrounding area of Wellington, and then we go to Ruapehu. We also visited this tradi, found it, and signed the logbook.

Had a good look at GZ but was nothing came to hand. Crossed the road and soon had the cache signed. Definitely gets a FP! And gets to go on our FP list!
I wrote in the log and placed the cache carefully back as found, TFTCSL. Thanks Swaybars for this Traditional Thanks for helping us get one step closer to our next milestone.

Today we went further north. After the can was found, we understood the translated note.

I loved this cache I haven't seen one like it in my relatively short caching life
With the Geotour coming to and end soon Yvettetb and I decided to go on a road trip to collect Tahi and Rua. Of course I had some puzzles at various places to collect and a few special types were added to the list too.
This was day 5. We stayed in Fielding last night. Today all we had to do was get to Wellington. Well that shouldn't take long. We did however go via Marton, Bulls, Ashurst, Palmy City, Shannon, Foxton, and finally Levin. It was a long day but quite a few goals were achieved.
This was on the way back from one of our essential Geotour caches. We saw all the favourite points so we thought we'd stop and try it. We were very pleased we were up to the task and soon had the log in hand. A great cache. Thanks for a fun hide

Our North Island Roadtrip from Whangarei to complete Tahi & Rua of the NZ Geotour - Day Five
On our way past on so thought we might stop and see of we were up to the challenge this morning. After a couple of minutes we had solved it and had the cache in hand, signed and we were off. Thanks for this brilliant cache.

Out to tick off another couple today, this was the only one we had any luck with. Easy find, hard part was not leaving a trail to and from! Very cool container and all was well within. Daughter swapped out some swag. Will need to update the current operational squadrons at Ohakea in the description shortly TFTC
Nice hide. Great container. Such a lovely place and such great weather to be caching. Tftc
TFTC brings back memories from time served near here when we actually ha a strike force. Oh the good old days.
This one took a while as the power lines overhead kept making the GPS play up. Once located the clue came in handy. TFTC.
With so many favorite points i just had to stop for a look. Spotted almost immediately and then a quick look at what tool i would need . Quickly got into the cache and found the goodies within. Added another sheet of paper in a baggie as the logsheet was a little worse for wear. Tftc favorite for the thought and work involved. Tftc
Decided to go for a drive for my birthday, the day NZ goes to red under traffic lights framework. I haven't cached for a while, so what better way to explore the country side. Thank you for the very nice cache and information on RNZAF.
No it's not rocket science. Hope the curious cows never gave away my presence. Tftc
We stopped on our way up north. Nice and early so very quiet. Quick easy find. Very cool hide.
Looking for a few high favourites for the travel between Taranaki and wairarapa, this one was easily accessible from the main drag so took the detour and claimed the find. Cool cache very fitting for the location. TFTC
Out of lockdown heading north for a fishing trip in Turangi. Greetings from Christchurch. Doing a few favorites on the way
I've had my eye on this much-favourated cache for a long time, waiting for an appropriate trip to stop for a look. Today's the day. Nicely done. Thanks!
All quiet at the time of our visit which made it easier. What an awesome contraption. After a quick think I had the log in hand.

We are on our summer holiday, we usually take a few weeks and travel around the South Island, but this year we are heading around the North Island. Heading up the West coast and back down the East coast. Finding only a select few caches along the way, we are mostly targeting some challenges we have qualified for, some large size caches, some that fill gaps in our date placed grid, a few D/T combinations, some with lots of favourite points, letterboxes and anything else that grabs our fancy.
I had a fall earlier in the day so I was now out of action with a very sore and swelling ankle gk had to go to find the cache.
The rain wa falling as we arrived, gk located the cache and the rain started pouring down so he came back and got an umbrella. The grass is so long as he crouched down to open the cache I could not see him or the umbrella.
He really enjoyed the design of this cache and he wants to give it a favourite point
He signed the log and returned it as he found it.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

Today I was returning to Wairarapa after a couple of nights in Whanganui and somehow ended up with a couple of extra hours up my sleeve before needing to reach home. Hmmm, what to do? Not a hard decision with this geo trail to drive past. There was an obvious trail here through the long, long grass from another find earlier in the day. However, the coordinates were so good that it would not have mattered. I love the repurposed container and for that alone I am giving a fav point. TFTC Swaybars69
I left Palmerston North today to head north. This was my first stop. It took me a few seconds to figure out the hint and get to the log. This is a very unique cache container. TFTC.
Travelling to Whanganui today and had time to stop for a few caches. Loved this contraption! Was glad to read that I didn’t need tools as I had none. Finally worked out how to extract the log and sign it. A favourite from us.
Tried to hide my tracks, but the path is quite well trodden. Would need some serious rain to right the grasses (and anything else for that matter). Awesome cache! Love a bit of difference from the usual pill boxes. No offence to pill boxes, though! They make the bulk of my meagre number of finds. I found a good sized spider in the container so I issued an eviction note, plugged up the hole, and finally added some swag and a pen. Nice one!
One of 30 caches located today in the Sanson/Ohakea/Bulls vicinity. Worth the special drive up from Wellington! I needed more than 25 to ensure this month’s total breaks my previous monthly record. Almost all quick finds, as was this one. However the trick was to access it, which took a couple of minutes to figure out! Nifty setup! #3137. TFTC.
Love this cache! Very ingenious. Found on road trip to Taupo with @Peadub. Talked with friendly farmer. Signed log and replaced where found. A few trinkets on cache. TFTC.
Out for a day's hunting with friend's granddaughters who we introduced to geocaching last school holidays. What a beauty to start with! A quick easy find, and then the fun trying to get in and closing was just as hard! Thanks for a very entertaining hide, and the thought and effort that went into creating it. Fav point for sure!
Doing some caches today to break up a long car ride. Very cool spot and a great cache. Had to do some problem solving to access the log, but had a great time doing it. TFTC.
There's a paddock full of cows and everyone wanted to assist really they such nosey creatures...any way refrigeration is in my blood ...great we cache and appreciated...thanks swaybar69..great caches...you and I think a like
Excellent end to a series. The clue was a help. All several hundred (or so it seemed) cows came to watch. No pressure!! Such a cool cache. Thanks for the placement swaybars69
I'd had a pretty slack Geocaching month so far, and was in danger of not getting my normal personal monthly goal of at least 50 finds per month, so I decided to take advantage of the balmy evening weather to go back to a couple of areas I haven't spent enough time caching around before - Bulls and Feilding.
I hadn't been down this particular road before, so hadn't realised that you got to be right under the flight path. I grew up close to Gatwick Airport so I'm used to having planes pass overhead, although there's a bit of a difference between a Boeing 747 and a Texan II lol!
There were a couple of the latter doing training laps whilst I was at GZ but I doubt they would have been taking too much notice of what I was doing whilst crouched down figuring out how to open the cache.
It wasn't long before I had it open, and was able to sign the dry logbook. Nice use of this object, and I am happy to give a FP (as many have already done) for a well executed cache.

Found on a club cycle ride - Marton, Lees Reserve for morning coffee, Sanson, Bulls for lunch and back to the accommodation. A strong northerly but otherwise a great day. A really nice cache. TFTC
Passing here a year later and Mcjandals reminded us that we had got these Apologies for not logging them sooner This seems to be our area for Labour weekends So much fun with Team BOP So many road trails down here Thanks for putting them outTFTC
We are wandering around in the camper geocaching. We came to do this one because there was a muggle at the previous one, back along the road. This was a very interesting container and was very hard to open because it had been done up so very very tight. Signed and replaced and didn’t do it up so tight to make it a little easier for the next cacher.
Thanks Swaybars69. Have a FAV for the interesting container.

So many caches in this area that we had to stop in here on the way home to find some more before dark after our huge day in the region. And what a great start on this road! TFTC
After spending the day with Trayc.g, GigiEV and Go_Zz hunting for the stickman series, we got a few more on the way home in the Sanson area.
This is the first one we stopped to find and was a very cool setup. TFTC

Found with Trayc.g, GigiEV and Juliusfamily. This was the first find in Sanson after spending the day finding caches in the Stickman series. Over 60 caches found today. TFTC
A great little roadside cache. This is the reason I cache finding ones like these. Was a great break from the pill bottles etc.
Down from Taranaki for the day and these are the last few finds of the day before it gets dark.

Very cool cache.
Log is getting a bit tatty but I was still able to sign.

On our way north after a weekend in the Wellington area and stopping at some random(ish) cache hides. We stopped here and after looking around a bit realised be were in slightly the wrong spot. Cool hide Swaybars69! Haven't seen anything quite like this one. FP for originality.
