I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Popmac sent me a message saying he has put a replacement cache here - so lovely of him. I am thinking he might adopt it for me.... The write up evokes memories, as 'Swaybars' was 29 years in the airforce - about 25 years in, when creating it. Mainly happy days....
Out and about with popmac
We took a wrong turn here.. we did find something that could have hidden the cache, but no cache to he found.. popmac might want to adopt..

I suspect this cache is missing in action. Does anyone want to take it over? Listing is all fine, you'd just need another container. It was a pill bottle inside a piece of wood. 'A log inside a log' as it were.
Just looking at the caching map and we realise that I have no smiley face yet on this cache. I originally found this back on 28/01/17 with Scoria but obviously forgot to log it when I got home as is my normal practice. Sorry about the late log.
No joy here today. Spent about 5 minutes looking all around except within the culverts. Saw a hole that might have been the right size for a little cache but it was empty today. Oh well. Try again next time.
I recommend keeping away from these caches this weekend (25/26 Feb). The roads will be packed with people going to or watching the big airshow. You will have way too much traffic and observers - leave it until another time please. Go watch the airshow instead!
Another saturday afternoon in fielding. The return journey had us traveling in the right direction to stop for this one (north bound flow). We pulled over to have a squizz. We looked for this one for a while and decided to log a DNF but i stumbled across it while carrying out one last cursory look before heading back to the car. One more cache logged for the day, now to head home-ish. Cheers.
Visiting family in Bulls so we had to stop for this one. Clever hide and cool to see some planes flying in formation above. Tftc.
This cache was attempted as part of the Palmerston North Power Leg of our "Road to 6,000" Extravaganza for 2016.
A quick find.

Wanganui to Bulls
We found a variety of caches in many different hides.
This was liking a tiki tour of the area around the Airforce base.
Thought this was a very good hide so have given it a favourite point.
Thanks for placing this cache Swaybars69

Found it snug in its hiding place. Coords a little out, or cache creep has occurred, tftc
A quick stop and find the trickiest bit was turning back onto the busy road to get home. TFTC
I had finished the KAS trail and thought i would do a bit of a drive around Ohakea picking up caches on the way. Thanks for the series around the air base. Thanks.
#1850 As i was picked up just after 4am to head to the Manawatu I realised this was not going to be a dot day. This was an attempt to get 270 caches in one day. There are a couple of great circuits in the Manawatu that will help work toward this goal so thanks to the CO's that have placed them for our enjoyment.
Thanks also to my partner in geo crime and driver for the day Yetrees. Without an able driver an attempt such as this would be impracticable so thanks for enabling it.
Thanks to all the CO's for their contribution to my smilie tally.
It is forecast to be a long day geocaching, hoping to make the 270 target. To be honest I'd be pretty happy with 200, however why not go for the Emerald badge (see project-gc.com)

Great Sunday drive around the manawatū and rangitikei area. TFTC. Happy hunting
my 33rd find on a roadtrip to Wanganui. no planes today.. quickish find, but the hint was lost on me! TFTC
Nice one! This had just been placed wrong and log was wet - managed to write name and found correct place so have put back - tftc
Nice quick find. Cache is sitting in a puddle though!!. Glad the rain has gone. Tftc
Great spot that unfortunatley no planes to spot. However there was a cache to be found. With an unexpected week off work, it was time for a geocaching roadtrip. I called Bchefj&p and they were also available for a mid week trip. We left Hastings at 6am and departed for the Palmy area with the main mission for today being the KAS Power Trail, and any others that we might be able to grab while we had day light. I ended the day having found 168 caches and DNFed on only 3. Thanks to all the CO's for their placements.
#159 find of the day so far. Posted a photo taken at an air show of the 757

A mission was needed to complete one of the last few licence challenges on Rangitoto Island, so a passing comment to C&D at an event and this mission was soon planned. We nearly achieved what we set out to accomplish, with only 1 more cache to find to complete the challenge but that was due to miss-reading the fine print on the challenge page.
So with the mission lasting 48 hours we amassed a great set of numbers, 317 caches found, just over 1200km travelled, about 7 hours of sleep, C&D finding his 180th earthcache, completing the KAS powertrail in under 3 hours and finding numerous amazing geocaches. A lot of fun was had along the way, and some great memories were created. A big thanks to everyone for placing all the caches along the way, this mission wouldn't have been as much fun if they weren't there!
Nothing to spot here other than a cache, thanks for the hide.

#6861. We came by RNZAF Base Ohakea this Saturday afternoon to try to spot some planes. But GZ was all quiet when we visited, and we did not spot any. We found the cache after a short search though. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. (#134 of 144 @ 18:11)

My younger brother had a four-day table tennis tournament in Palmerston North. Rather than sit around and watch paint dry, I decided to take a caching tour of the Manawatu... Joined by Gap (of Fap and Gap).
No planes overhead this afternoon... This was not where or how we were expecting to find this one. TFTC.

It sounds like this needed a new log and the last cacher kindly did it for us. I assume everything is fine. If more maintentence is needed let us know in the log. Thanks!
The log sheet was extremely wet - so we replaced it with a new (water proof) one. TFTC.
Cache # 2,459 - After a previous DNF, this one was an almost instant find. Did today with Violet Butterfly and Astro Hunter. Nice hide. TFTC!
Found today with Violet Butterfly and The Wandering Dragons. TNLNSL. Thank you!

Find number 26/30 on a road trip with team Skaga that took us to Bulls and back.
A nice quick find. No plane spotters today, just a security guard in a car!

#1706 Out on a trip to Bulls and back for the day with Nic-Jay and both members of Skaga today to pick up a few caches. No planes to spot while we were looking for this cache. TFTC- clever hide.
Thanks for the cache found between showers on a nice wet Manawatu day
Clever hide... not the first place I looked!!

Gps had me about 5m away. But after a quick search I was almost standing on it. TFTC.
No planes and no spotters here today. Clever little hide - really like that one. Thanks for the cache.
thanks to all the owners of the geocaches that we found today on our way from Wanganui to Bulls and Foxton. A 'fave' added for thisone!
TFTC and greetings from Belgium.

The final cache for the day. The rain wins! A nice find to end with though, after picking up caches at Marton, Bulls and Ohakea a quick dash in the rain, found the camoed container, had the cache in hand and logged signed. Thanks for the placement.
on our long holiday to taranaki and back to gisborne, a loop track. Cache was a bit loose, got to the log.
Thanks for the cache! Found with Wafflekitties. Decided to do this loop of caches on our way up north!
On my way south from Wanganui to Wellington I was happy to make some cool finds today
Thanks to the owners for hiding and maintaining the caches along the route [^] [^] - and cheers from Germany!

Had to cross busy highway for this one good hide liked this one many thanks. favorite.
We did replace the log with a new one a couple of weeks back. So hopefully all is well.
Towards the caching end of a long day, and we couldn't spot this. Am sure it is very cleverly disguised and look forward to another crack sometime down the road.
Driving from Turangi to Wellington today, stopping to pick up a few specifically targetted caches that help us with a couple of Challenges in Auckland.
This one had a hidden date that we still need. Spotted a very small yellow plane taking off as we approached GZ. Quick find of the nicely camoed cache. Thanks.

Oh how I loved this one - must be a favourite of favourites. Could do with a new log. TFTC
Quick drive-by after an eight-hour geo-maintenance run from Welly to Marton with JardisLikeTardis. Towards the end of the trip, our tired brains and my oft-distracted navigating meant we had more problems finding GZ from the highway than we did the cache itself. Returned to the geo-mobile with Eau de Cow liberally coating our nostrils.
Right near the house where my uncle lived when I was a kid.
Log is full, has to write on the side

A tricky right-hand turn into this little road across SH1 traffic at night to reach this one. The scent of fresh cow dung lingered in our nostrils as Kjwx and I tracked down the nicely-camoflagued cache. TFTC
Quite a lot of plane activity in the area today but I have no idea of what was what. TFTC, #6710
Didn't see any planes landing from this GZ today. No problems locating the cache today, while out and about with my Father in Law, Brother in Law, and Nephews. Thanks for the cache.
Not much flying around today, but it was pretty awful weather. Found the cache quick quickly as it hadn't been put back together correctly so it's now sitting back in it's little hole.
Last one before i compete in the national orienteering relay champs. Fine but cool day today. Loved the disguise !
