Have been to this site dozens of times but only today as a geocacher! The falls were really pumping and the view down the gorge spectacular. Only some screwed up balls of note paper to record on and they were a little damp.TFTC
Beautiful day for a walk, the waterfall was flowing nicely, even had a couple of curious lizards next to the cache, thanks
Had been saving this one for a time after a good amount of rain. Not sure if today qualified but the falls were running pretty well so it was worth it.
Thanks indeed.

Find #11145
Christmas holidays and it is time to start on my next caching goal... find the first 500 currently active caches in Victoria. With 2 close to each other here, it was a good place to start.
While not one of the first 500, it was along the way, so made the return walk. Very worthwhile and was rewarded with wonderful views and a beautiful waterfall, what more could you want.
Thanks to TeamTrubble for the cache.
Big things are continuing to happen! *Are you joining the fun again in 2021?*

On our possible last day of caching before lockdown, we thought we would go an find some more of the Samaria ones we hadn’t already picked up. This one we had passed last time we were here so still was a green splodge on our map. Can remember going to this falls many years ago before caching so it was interesting to go a different route. After the pleasant walk we arrived at the waterfall. The hint was read and so the cache was quickly found. No water flowing over the falls today though. Nice hide. TFTC
While Nat, Josh and Ben explored the falls, Craig set about finding this cache, soon joined by the trio but it was still Craig who spotted it first and retrieved it from its hidey hole. Beautiful spot would love to come back when heaps more water is cascading. TFTC
Well this was our goal for our picnic lunch and it didn't disappoint. A challenging drive in, especially in a Kia Rio, a long walk through the bush, a very pretty campsite with great facilities and finally a waterfall with a cache.
Thanks for putting this cache out and getting us into this part of the world.

Lots of water coming down the falls following the 100ml of rain we have had! Good find. Log is slightly damp. TFTC
Nice walk down but not as easy up but worth the walk . nice falls TFTC. With Plobs again
Out for a drive in Gregs brand new 4x4 ford ranger today and we thought we'd go exploring these hills.
This was our second cache for the afternoon. We made the short walk to GZ and Greg didn't really like all the steps down to the view point. Once there the cache was found after a brief search, I almost mistook it for rubbish!
I signed JA with a stick and soil as I lost my pen on the way down. :-/
A very pleasant waterfall with plenty of water after this weeks storms.

This was a lovely walk however realised when we found the cache we didn't have a pen so must come back another time to sign log book. TFTC
Jeez my thigh muscles were aching after the return climb up the steps from the lookout at Wild Dog Falls. My heart was also trying to bash its way through my ribs too! Pooky (one half of Mr & Mrs Pooky) managed to locate the cache quickly and even retrieved it which was a surprise since his little Pooky arms are but mere stumps with fingers! We managed to walk in and out in around 30 minutes since the weather was cold (wet) and as there was not much to view today because of the overcast conditions.

Out for a day of caching with Biggles of Oz and Mrs Biggles.
After leaving the Geoladies in the car the Geomen set out to find the cache. A quick descent down to the falls and the cache was easily found beneath our feet by Mr Pooky. The return trip back had the heart racing and not much talking.

Tough cache not so much the finding but the getting I discovered it at the base of a crack between two rocks. A crack that my arm wouldn't fit through . Some creative thinking and I had the prize. Log was damp but ok.
Out for an early morning walk and headed down here after doing Samaria View.
Found the trail head reasonably easy for a nice stroll down to the GZ. The viewing platform is closed and roped of due to deterioration but does not impact on the search. After a fairly thorough search I was scratching my head thinking it must be there so I went back to one of my first locations for a more thorough search and sure enough, a very sneaky hide (nice).
My second time here, first was pre-caching and so it was good to have a return visit.

I took the 2nd track into this one for a nice easy walk in.
The co ords took me straight to a likely spot for the hint to make sense how ever no cache was to be found
I dont give in easily and after a good 50mins and widening the search to places bordering on dangerous I had to leave dissapointed.
Unless someone better than me finds it then I will nearly say it got washed away in that rain yesterday.
Thanks for taking me to a great spot anyway teamTrubble.

Well GCT Man we DID find that pesky cache! The co-ords were spot on although it did take a while to locate. So we are glad to say it was not washed away and we did a happy dance because we got FTF!!! We parked at the parking co-ords but failed to read the cache notes properly and did not walk in far enough to find the trailhead at first. Suffice to say that we spent some time walking up and down the road trying to find a path through the bush. Finally we came back to the geoHilux and re-read the cache notes. Lightbulb time... found the wonderful track to walk in to the Lookout. Plenty of water falling over the Falls after all the rain of the past three days. SL finally at 3.50pm Took: photos and pirate TB Left: blue wren. Probably we walked about 5 kms instead of the suggested 3kms, but it was worth it. [^] TFTC TeamTrubble which helped us find these amazing Falls, a campsite and another section of the Samaria State Park explored. What a way to end our day of caching. #1544
