The last find as I was effectively blinded in one eye by my suncream, I trekked up the hill here, checking every hidey hole as I grumbled and groaned about my sore eye. Eventually I had enough and was making my way down when I noticed a suspicious hidey hole; there you are! I signed the log and skedaddled back to the car to retreat home and tend to my sore eye. Thanks for the cache sweet-sour!
Did wonder where to stop but wow what an impressive man vs nature spot . Found easily enough trusted the compass tftc
Sweet-Sour I found your cache Obi Obi Land Slip on 15/8/2022, 10:25 am. This is my find 3936 and find # 1 today. A quick and easy bush bash. Quickly found cache. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Muggle65 and l were very happy to find a nice safe parking spot. Thought we would wish for a machete but it wasn't bad at all. Cache found safe and sound. Thank you for the fun
Sooooooo disappointed, got to Kenilworth & I was hankering for one of their donuts. But I couldn’t be stuffed to wait for what was appearing to be a long time in a long que. So I settled for a burger & chips, which did the job.
This one & I struck into the trees and again was happy to have a quick find.

Luckily I remembered the hint I had read before leaving home as there is ZERO phone coverage at GZ.
My eagle eyed wife made a quick find and signed the log.

Mrs Burdons5 and I parked across the road and followed the instructions, heading over in the correct direction to start the hunt. I must admit, given the terrain rating I wasn't expecting the scramble, but the likely spot was soon spotted and I made my way to gz to sign the log. Tftc sweet-sour
Found it with Stortigirls. It was higher than head height scrambling up a mossy very steep hill.
We've stopped off in Kenilworth, and plan to base ourselves here for a few days before heading to the Dayboro Mega Event.
Today we headed off to Mapleton to do an Adventure Lab as well as logging a few Traditional caches on our journey.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache 8 metres from where our GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Smiley Badge
Thank you for adding to our adventure.
Regards

After a short search, and then reading the hint, I was able to uncover the cache, roughly where the hint says under a SPOR near a large tree. TNLNSL TFTC
Lots of miss leading clues. We spent too much time looking for this one. Found rubbish everywhere.
First mistake was parking at the lookout and walking on the side of the road the cache was on with the fencing. That was a rocky, viney, unpleasant walk. A dodgy car park on the side of the road was better (albeit maybe not safer). Then the scramble up the hill. I ended up with a lot of twigs and webs on my jumper today. There was a small but chunky spider guarding the cache so I shoo-ed him with a stick and grit my teeth and grabbed it, hoping that it wouldn't jump out and bite me. Tftc
After driving past this cache on multiple occasions we finally made the stop. Starting the search, MrsWallaby gave WallabyTim the bum steer and we overshot GZ but the hint soon helped. Scary to think of the landslide happening here. TFTC and info about the location
Headed off in the wrong direction trying to follow the hint. Better success just heading for GZ
Slowly increasing our return to caching after my recent hip replacement surgery.
We managed 18 finds today so it shouldn't be too long before Vegan Cachers (VC) are back in full swing! LOL ...
#8 of 18 found today.
I pulled the Geo-Beast into a wee small spot, looked across at GZ & groaned.
Then I thought better of it, changed my attitude & went in for the hunt.
Great calculating (due to a clear understaing of the available information) put me in the right spot with the cache being spotted almost immediately.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

Pulled up close to GZ. A bit of a bush bash and a bit further away than what the GPS was indicating. But the hint helped TFTC

Out and about working in the area today. I parked nearby and wandered over to GZ.
Once there I found the cache very quickly. Once the log was signed everything was replaced as found.

Enjoying a tiki tour around the hinterland. Boiling hot so looking for some waterfalls and rivers to cool down. Great scenery. Hint and GPS had me searching further away but as there was a limited number of rocks around I eventually found it. TFTC
Here in Australia visiting from Colorado Springs. Good to be out caching with Liz and Bruce again. It is great to be able to find this cache and we are really enjoying the scenery. Thanks to Sweet-Sour for the cache.
We are on the Sunshine coast for a while visiting with our friends who have come in from the USA. This was one of the caches we were able to find. We enjoyed showing them around this scenic location. Thankyou Sweet-Sour for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area
#7969 Cache Found
Found on my way back from the Newbies Event at Widgee. Nice cache also thanks for getting me off the Bruce
Thanks for the great cache and adventure Sweet-Sour
This day in Music
1956, Bill Haley's 'Rock Around the Clock' went to No.1 on the UK singles chart for the second time. The single is often cited as the biggest-selling vinyl rock and roll single of all time with sales over 25m.

Last year we biked around the Mapelton Kenilworth Maleny circuit caching as we went. This time we took the lazy choice getting most of the ones we missed last time.
Got this one easy enough but what a pungent smell. I think its from some kind of tree or bush in flower. Thanks sweet - sour.
Cache found in good nick. I was surprised by the vegetation in here. TFTC sweet - sour.
Took a little while to find the right trees and rocks but signed log and replaced as found. Something has had a gnaw at the cache lid and there was some weird stuff dumped further along the road. Thanks Sweet-Sour.
During the big heat at midday, we decided to grab smilies by driving in an air conditioned car. Tftc
Check on behalf of CO - yes cache is still there. It did have a hole in the bottom which a snail had taken advantage of! Removed snail, cleaned out cache, taped up hole, added a pencil and a few swaps. All good to go with this one. Due to tree cover co-ords may be a bit out, just widen search if having difficulty. You can actually see the hiding spot from the road.
I was out and about with the CO today and when we pulled into a parking area at a nearby cache he said that I should take a walk down to this one whilst he waited in the car in the shade.
When at GZ it was not too long before a likely place was spotted and sure enough, the cache was there.
The cache had a hole in the bottom of it however the contents were dry.
The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.

Out for a Sunday drive with GeographyMan and the rest of the family, thought we'd do a spot of caching while we were out this way. TFTC sweet-sour
Too dangerous for geokids to get out and search for the geocache as the road is a busy street today but they did yell good info from the car. For me the gps on the geocache app was pointing me in the opposite direction from where the geodad was looking... But in the end we found it!
I had a few hours free this morning before the dreaded school holidays camping pack up. Not enough time for a climb up Kenilworth Bluff, but enough time for a lazy morning drive in the country side.
I found a spot to park over the road, and after admiring the view, a short walk later I had the cache in hand.
Many thanks Sweet-Sour.

Beaten again. That's a lot of concrete.
RachnLil beat me to it. The CO appears to not like RachnLil for some reason and has deleted her log

What an impressive piece of construction. No doubt made a huge profit for the ready mixed concrete company, and the cement manufacturers.
Along with the similar land slips along Kenilworth-Brooloo road, the rain several years must have provided plenty of work for the construction crew.
Luckily the cache was found just a little way from the road on a quiet day. Would hate to have been here on a busy weekend! No swaps today, but TFTC Sweet-Sour.

Nice cache, emptied the water out but log still ok, out with Aussie birds TFTC, SL
Gee, it really is amazing what man can do and what a feat this would have been to do it. Just thinking about it makes me sore and tired. After marvelling at the feature, I went in hunt for the cache. It was soon found and I added my name to the caches before me.
This cache was part of a little Geocaching adventure that I had today. I don't know why, though for about the past 3 weeks I have not done a lot of caching, which is very odd. Though this morning, I woke with a major urge to cache. So I grabbed my GPSr, my Geo:bag and a water bottle and jumped in the car.
Not having many areas left close to home for a great run I decided to head out to an area that I have gotten close to before and knew there to be a few caches free, that would be Kenilworth. I knew doing this area would be risky with all of the recent rail and flooding, but I just wanted to get out.
Thanks for another great cache Sweet-Sour. The cache is in good order.

What an incredible engineering feat this must have been. I still can't work out how they get that concrete to stick there! We parked north of the cache and walked back to it. We took quite a while to find it and had resorted to reading some of the previous logs - and were misled by one that said "it was almost a drive-by". We had headed back closer to the road when we came across the cache on the way! TNLNSL TFTC
Staying at the showgrounds for a week so went out today to see how many caches we could find. This is beautiful country and once again we went along roads we would have missed seeing if not for geocaching. Thanks to the owners for all the caches.
Kerry and Luke were on a mission today - to finish off our "15 Years Of No Love" Challenge before the end of the year. This brought us to the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Our guest cacher for today's journey was dahumbug.
This one was almost a drive by, but we had to stop on the other side of the road. Some impressive engineering work has gone on here to remedy the problems.
TFTC, Sweet-Sour.

As always i took the direct route to where I thought the cache would be only to find a much easier track not even 2m away.. lol...
while sitting on the ground taking a breath i quickly found the cache and signed the log.

With suzy squirrel today, she had me going all over before I told her to use the compass, then we were on the right track! Quick find and on to the next one! TFTC
Visiting from UK. Staying at Lilyponds Mapleton with my brother who came to Oz 40 years ago. Seeing the sights and picking up a few caches. I see what you mean by the amount of concrete. We must have looked odd but what the heck. Found eventually. TFTC
Tried to do just on dark. No luck with the GPS being out all day. Nasty lantana around the site doesn't make it any easier.
What a beautiful drive up to this area, soon found the concrete barrier and geohubby was sent to scramble up the bank for the cache and had a nice quick find. Just as we left and were driving past the end of the concrete wall, a couple of utes coming towards us flashed their lights so we slowed down to find a koala sat in the road, so we stopped and put our hazzard lights on until it was safely across the other side - what a sight!!! TFTC
Wow. That is a lot of concrete ! So glad you didn't put the cache at the top...lol.

Had to live through the long detours while this was being built. It is an impressive edifice! Easy find after waiting out a heavy sun shower. TFTC.
Found at 0758. The clue helped and the GPS was surprisingly spot on even and such dense tree cover. TFTC.
We haven't really come around and checked out the handywork on the landslip until today. We have property (weekender) at Coolabine and we usually bypass this road by turning off at Hunsley Road. Hunsley Road sure was popular for that year or so when the Obi was closed to repair that landslip. We saw much more traffic than we do these days. Thanks for bringing us around to here. We dropped off Geodog2 who is looking to get home to the Sunshine Coast. His owner is going to pick him up shortly! TFTC!
Hi Found it with A and A Show, the old ones do hold back to give the younger ones experience. TFTC
After an early morning adventure up the Kenilworth Bluff, Dav81 and I started the long drive home, but of course there were caches to find along the way We pulled the Troopie off on the side of the road, and then the race was on!!! Of late when we going caching together it has become a bit of a competition to see who can get their hands on the cache first. Seeing as I was two cache finds behind, I made a mad dash to where I thought the cache would be. Dav81 was left choking on my dust. My guess payed off as I found the cache in the first spot I looked. One more point to me We signed the log, replaced the cache and then continued on our journey. I can only imagine what it would have looked like when the hill gave way and the land slide occurred!!!
Thanks for the cache Sweet-Sour

Our phone 3G was coming in and out, so we took a stab and parked at the lookout away from GZ. After walking back towards the wall our 3g came back in and in to the bush we went. The clue was very helpful, and we found the cache quickly. TFTC!
Pulling up at GZ i was pleased Sweet-Sour decided not to place this cache at the very top, i spotted the likely hiding spot from the road and sure enough after a quick climb the log was signed and cache replaced.

With temperatures well over 40 degrees today pulling up opposite GZ we were so glad it wasn't at the top of this small slab of concrete. In the end Anth got a bit lost looking while Sal made the find. Signed the log and raced back to the car out of the heat. Thanks for the cache Sweet-Sour
I have been past here many times - this time I decided to to find the cache. Thanks
After yesterdays awesome event it is time to head home.
This was another find on the twisty way home with IolantheK.
