I socialized at the house next to the golf course when my kids were younger and I was more able to cope with the day after . Thank goodness I grew out of that!
Good to have a smiley face on this one too a great day to be out with the great grandies tftc
Found this one the other day but purely lucky as I had no cellular phone coverage. I knew it was here but no idea what size or actual location nor hint. But found it despite the cache hidden by rank growth as that's where I'd probably hide it.

Find number 7752. My daughter is doing the Te Araroa trail And I have been a support person for a few days as she paddled the Whanganui [I was the other in the canoe] and cycled from Pipiriki to Whanganui. A 7pm crossing of the river at Koitiata where I met her and we camped for the night. An early start as she set off to walk to Bulls and I cached my way back to Hamilton.
No golf for me but a bit of a search for a cache. Got it in the end. Thank you for the placement.

Heading home from Wanganui (to Wellington) and took an alternative route to grab a few caches along the way. all quiet here made for a quick find. TFTC.
#9491. Saturday was a stunning day in Wellington and I spent most of it inside doing chores and writing up the last of my logs from the Easter geocaching trip down south. When ANZAC Day Sunday dawned sunny I couldn't face a second day inside on a long weekend so decided a short road trip was in order. There are a stack of orphaned caches in the Manawatu that I seem to have managed to drive past while caching out the neighbourhood and so todays plan was to mop them all up if possible. So set off on a trip to Levin, Foxton, Bulls and Marton region before arriving home after dark. A fun day out and while the wind picked up in the afternoon it remained fine until dusk. Managed to get 22 finds and just 4 DNF's remaining that need some extra research.
Nice to convert a previous DNF from 2017 into a find this time. It was missing last visit but was replaced by the CO soon after. Today I parked nearby and wandered over to GZ. The hint quickly narrowed down the hiding location and this time I had my hand on the cache within seconds. Phew that's a relief. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks mjmnz for hiding the cache here.

We managed to completely miss this one when caching along Bulls, Tangimoana and backroads in the surrounding areas.
A quick stop here on our way back home. A nice and easy find.

Gps all over here, no previous trails either, but soon Ethness had the cache in hand. Signed log as LE. Not much golf happening here today. TFTC
Had to do a wee hunt for this cache as there were no geo trails to GZ despite the log being signed today.

Found today whilst driving to Whangehu to attend the annual Rattll BBQ. No issues finding this little cache as it was exactly where the Hint said it would be.
The log was nice and dry, so was quickly signed before the whole lot was replaced back exactly as found and I was back on y way again.

blair137 was very impressed with the cache container as she had never seen one like that before

Had the day off work and so pleased to be back geocaching after Covid level 3 and 4. Headed out towards Bulls. Quick detour down this road for a couple of smileys but no golf. Cache all fine. Thanks.
Finally got this this one after a couple of did not finds, one of those times we stopped off at the end of the day after a day of caching and put the did not find down to a lack of light the other time we just couldn't not find it as a few other cachers before us and after us back in 12-11-16.
Wasn't to hard to find thanks to the hint
This cache helps with filling in a missing dot on my calendar matrix, getting the calendar completed is going to take some time as many of the missing days are on work days making it difficult to get out and get one making thing worse there are not many left that are nearby, these ones I will save for when I can get out but have limited time as for the others they are at least 30 minutes or more to get to ground zone just to get one cache
Thanks for the Cache

Over in Palmerston North for the day and decided to grab a couple of caches on the way home.
This one was previously a DNF so it was overdue another look.
The area has changed somewhat since my last visit.
Cache quickly found and logged.

Heading to Wellington Mega a day earlier with Squirrel Nutcase and NZ Flossy a day earlier.
Out to collect caches that we have previously passed.
So sorry cache owners, we had a fairly large find today so it's a copy and paste day.
Thanks everyone for their cache placements that we found. SLTFTC

WENZ Mega Weekend is almost here... Motoring south today with Gap (of Fap and Gap), and NZFlossy. Our intention is to cache our way to our accommodation in Lower Hutt... The big news of the day is that Highway 1 is closed at Pukerua Bay. A truck crash and chemical spill have shut down all lanes coming to and from Wellington. We have plenty of caches to find to keep us occupied, but this could be a long wait...
Friday: The iPhone gps was pointing specifically at one location, but we didn't search thoroughly enough. As a consequence, we made several circles before returning to make a quick find. TFTC.

On my way to the mega with Squirrel Nutcase and Fap and Gap. Having lots of fun and enjoying the ride and the scenery. It’s what I love about caching - great company and visiting great places. Thanks to all the COs for all their caches Hopefully we see some of them at the mega this weekend TFTC
Out on a trip to farewell ex students in their last year and so i thought this was a good opportunity to travel along here and locate these two caches. Both were quickly found although i had to wait for a car exiting the golf club before i could make a dive to the area as the hint said . It is very good to finally get bthese two with smiley faces as each time i pass the end of the road i think i should go down here but never do so today i decided i would set a goal to change these into smiles. Thank you for these two caches.
#9641. A good day to explore Santoft and its surrounding areas. GZ was all quiet when we visited. Quick find. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

A beautiful fine day here, stopped for lunch in the shade of a tree.A quick find and a good cache.TFTC!
Lovely quiet morning here. Nice and dry cache. Now to check out the golf course. TFTC
I didn't have many plans today, so I decided to come over to Whanganui for a few hours to tidy up some the multis and mysteries I have remaining and to pick up a couple of traditionals as I make my way around.
Heading back home now and I thought I'd take a quick detour down to this cache which is an annoying green dot on my map. I've been here at least twice before, maybe three times, and spent a lot of time looking on each of those occasions.
I noticed that the cache had recentBeen here two or three times and spent a lot of time looking. Saw it had recently been replaced by the CO, so I hoped that I could find it this time. Quick find here today - signed log and returned cache. Now to head for home. TFTC

I was hoping to find this one as I am seeking out remote caches for a challenge series and this one would have been a contender. I was a bit put off by all the recent DNF's but gave it a go anyway. Spent about 10 minutes cruising up and down the fenceline. No cache spotted. But after finding the nearby Lake Alice cache, I suspect I misinterpreted the hint and probably should have spent more time looking for something different. So could well be here if you are keen to search through the long grass. Another time.
End of a day trip in fielding. Nipped down this road because D6NZ wanted to. Unfortunately we did not manage to locate this cache even though the hint seemed straight forward enough.
Will return some time in the future for another go.

Took the wrong turning after the Mega so taking the long way home. Finding new caches in area not been for a long time TFTC
Took longer to find than it should've however geocaching instinct eventually got focus on an area that yielded what I was searching for. *TFTC mjmnz, # 9057*
Stopped off on the way out from an orienteering event in nearby Santoft Forest. The phone isn't as accurate as the GPS, but geosense made the difference.
Log was going to be a DNF as we had a look, but ran short on time, and decided to continue along the way.
On the return trip we poped back here, and made the find in a different location than originally searched.
Found in a logical place, not sure why GPSr originally told us otherwise O.O
All good here with cache, and log.
Cheers

A mission was needed to complete one of the last few licence challenges on Rangitoto Island, so a passing comment to C&D at an event and this mission was soon planned. We nearly achieved what we set out to accomplish, with only 1 more cache to find to complete the challenge but that was due to miss-reading the fine print on the challenge page.
So with the mission lasting 48 hours we amassed a great set of numbers, 317 caches found, just over 1200km travelled, about 7 hours of sleep, C&D finding his 180th earthcache, completing the KAS powertrail in under 3 hours and finding numerous amazing geocaches. A lot of fun was had along the way, and some great memories were created. A big thanks to everyone for placing all the caches along the way, this mission wouldn't have been as much fun if they weren't there!
Had just started this search when a muggle showed up and advised us that it had disappeared. However something just didn't quite add up with what the muggle was saying and what we were seeing. So as we beat a retreat to the car while the muggle walked away, and a quick read of the logs gave us a little bit of hope. A quick search at a new location quickly revealed a cache, thanks for the placement.

Well another mission down the line in what HKCB and I were expecting to be another large caching weekend where numbers were the target, Sleep was for the weak, OCD=commitment , and petrol was a must. We left home at 6pm and headed straight down here to start what was going to be a long couple of days, so with much planning (compliments of HKCB) and a good supply of nourishing caching supplies in the back.
With a total of 1250 kms (just a short drive) and 5 hours [xx(] of sleep we were definitely going to earn our rest by Sunday evening when we got home. Oh, we even managed to attend an event along the way and meet fellow cachers from the area while in Wanganui.
Well it might just be a new day but we've already covered some miles in the quest for smilies. Sleeping in the car never gets any easier on the body but it does have the added bonus of saving money for more petrol.
This was my thirteenth in daylight but also our one hundred and twentith for the day not too shabby we think. Met by a man whom told us it had gone, but once he had gone we found it in its new location
Thankfully both HKCB and I enjoy caching through the night (and the day), well we have had plenty of experience of it, especially as we are both working on individual challenges, mine being the DGSc Challenge and includes the Night Caching elective.
So again thank you for the FUN of the hunt

On the way home from a windy day in the Manawatu and had to have another go at this cache which I could not find last time I was here. A quick find this time which was a great end to a day of grabbing the KAS Trail. I think it was about a 100 odd caches for the day which is my biggest day caching.
Thanks for the placement mjmnz - a great end to the day.

Driving from Turangi to Wellington today, we detoured into this area to pick up a few caches that are far enough apart from each other to count as "remote" for a certain Challenge in Auckland.
Maybe we had some pre-conceived ( and wrong) ideas of what we would be looking for here, but this one took us a little longer to find than it should have. Got there all the same. Thanks.

Just managed to dodge the rain and the arriving golf muggles to get this one, then off to watch the orienteering relays. TFTC. n.b. Telecom reception somewhat iffy, would help to save this cache before you head out here.
Good to tick this one off at last! I was not successful in finding the previous hide here, then looked for this one a few days ago, but it was cold and wet and the GPSr was jumping all over the place so I gave up. Coming home from the orienteering national champs I stopped for another go. Good to come across WEKA and Markhnz here (also from the orienteering) so we combined forces and I was very pleased to finally locate it. A more specific hint would save a lot of groveling on hands and knees in the pine needles.
Spotted Edvern leaving the cache site, so I fortunately a useful extra hint. Well hidden cache.
Found after a run around Santoft forest for the NZ orienteering champs.
We searched for a while, but couldn't find the cache.
So we hopped back into the car and we were just about to leave when edvern arrived.
edvern had spoken to a previous finder about the cache and so we were inspired to have another look.
After another short search, edvern found the cache and we all signed the log.
Thanks.

Found with markhnz and edvern. The three of us had searched for some time without success, fortunately reasonably sheltered from the rain, and were about to drive away, when edvern arrived for her third try. She located the cache fairly quickly, in one of the places we thought we had checked. TFTC

No find for us, but was dark and cold so we gave up fairly quickly - will return another time for a better look.
Found this one, very clever hide, and giving a fav point, was about to give up on this one but at the last minute it was spotted, TFHC
Spent some time looking for this one with geodatum. Although a lot of tree trimming has gone on very close by we don't think that has affected the site our gps was pointing to. We were directed to a very rubbishy area with blackberry which seems a pity as there are more pleasant spots all around. Obvious signs of others searching too, but no success today.
Searched, in the company of edvern, all likely spots but drew a blank. The area is not very pleasant either. Probably needs an owner check to make sure all is well.
It's the Seagnoid's birthday tomorrow, so I bought me a birthday present - a car hire! Off to Wanganui for a couple of days caching. Makes a change from wearing out my bum over a 60km ride to get those darm August caches!
So this is the first cache of the trip. Took a bit of a while to find this, but it is the finding that counts, not the time taken! [:8]

After failing in my initial search two days prior, I returned with reinforcements to help search for that elusive cache. It still took a good 10 mins to locate. Very well hidden. TFTC
The gps was pointing over to the long, wet grass but hoping this wasn't where the cache was we headed over and checked out the power pole first but quickly discounted it. I suppose we better follow the gps. We trailed the fence line into the wet grass and sure enough we came up trumps seeing somewhat of a signature feature of mjmnz. To our surprise/relief our shoes didn't get that wet.

Had to drop grand kids back to Bulls this morning so detoured on the way home to grab this one. Had thought of putting one here myself. Mmmmmmm....now which one? Think like mjmnz and you will surely find if you look carefully enough. and yip there it was. TFTC
{FTF} Yay!! No problem with this - hint is very helpful and you just need to look carefully. It was blimin' cold though, so glad it did not take long. We drove back via Lake Alice as one of the family had flatted in old staff housing there for a wee while waaaaaay back when. Now no houses at all where his was! He was a bit astounded, but they've probably been gone for years! I award you one of my last favourite points, for a clever variation on this type of hide. I'm sure Marton Golf Course is also a very pleasant course.
Tried and failed with this today, not a DNF as it's me, not the cache that was not looking well
Good luck to the FTF
