Found! A quick drive-by to grab this cache. There were plenty of cars around on this busy stretch but no one parked just a short distance from cache. Interesting that cache container was a take-away food container O.o

Found this cache as part of my caching trip with JAB's to Victoria's Mornington Pennisula and Geelong area. The 29 hours claimed 158 GC caches and 2 GCA trig points. Some great caches were found and the southern beaches were a highlight.

Found by Mary & David at 1045. Enjoyed the short walk from our chosen parking spot. Everything looked so green and lush in the park, and there were some wonderful old trees about. After logging the cache, we looked around for the hive. Spotted lots of bees coming and going from a hollow branch high in a gum tree about 20m NNE from GZ, but couldn't see any honeycomb from our vantage point. Wondered if that was the hive in question? Our thanks to MrTreeMC.

Made this a quick park and grab? with Snap Happy. Easy find but considering the cache container it was quickly spotted. May need a smaller clip lock (sistema) container to keep it weather proof. Otherwise nice area for a cache, thanks MrTreeMC for the cache.

#403 for us and the one that gives us souvenir 19/31 in the 31 days thingy.

I needed a quick find tonight, running late and in the rain, after I was foiled by muggles at the other couple I had on my list for today's cache.

As I approached, I noticed a canine muggle and his companion sheltering under the ti-trees along the main road. As I slowed though, he took off and I scooted around the corner to park. I quickly made my way to GZ, where a short hunt had he container in hand.

The log was signed and the cache rehidden as the rain decided it was time to get serious, which accelerated my return trip to the car.

In the dark, cold, wind and rain, the bees were far more sensible than I and they all stayed indoors. But I got my smiley for the day ! Very nice hide and well spotted for a first cache.

Thanks MrTreeMC for the cache, the smiley, the souvenir and the wet clothes Smile

Will email a couple of ideas.

Found today with Team Indiana08. Being a cool and wet day, we did not find the beehive or any bee activity. We did, however, admire a nearby gum tree that has survived fire and appears to be thriving.

After a caching event dinner nearby, I needed to sign a GC logbook. So I headed out in the cold night to the closest one. Fortunately it was a quick drive-by, but I missed the bee hive.

Find #460 on day 84 with continuous cache finds.

This cache was placed while we were away, so tonight on our way to the nearby caching event in Belmont was a perfect opportunity to call in. We found the cache securely tucked in, there was no evidence of bees, maybe it was far too cold and dark.

FEEDBACK TO CO: For a first hide this is a great placement - very well done. Just wonder if you could be a bit more specific in the cache notes as to the actual location of the beehive i.e. actual direction from the cache.

TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt MrTreeMC.

Nice little quick cache and fun one after a couple of stressful searches on previous caches. Saturday night in Geelong can be a bit strange with drinking and a few crazys out. Didn't see the beehive, the colony must have moved on by now. Cache in great condition for all the wild wet weather we have been having. TFTC TNLN:)

Suscoe was out and about this afternoon needing a cache find for our 366 grid.
So it was this cache's turn.
Having been here on the evening that this cache was released to the world, today's visit was much brighter, infact sunny. It was also much quieter as Suscoe was the only team here but it was still wet underfoot.
Cache was found, log dry and now signed by us and all rehidden.
Thanks to MrTreeMC for this cache.
We wonder where we will be tomorrow for our next grid day find!

*** Joint FTF with Vicfire ***

What a sight this was tonight!
We were just walking out from dinner when we checked the emails. We noticed that there was a cache published at almost the exact second we checked. Had we looked 30 seconds earlier we would not have been out for the hunt.

We were in Geelong West and thought that we might have a chance to get this one before heading to the second part of the birthday party. We jumped on the highway and barrelled through. We were stopped at the pedestrian crossing across from Kardinia Park. Seriously, who crosses at this time of night. Longest 20 seconds ever.
We saw the car on the side of the road and we knew that we may have been just beaten. Thanks to Vicfire for the joint FTF! Cheers!

Not 2 minutes later 2 other cars rock up! It was certainly a sight at this time of night!
7 Minutes from published to being found. Beats my last record of 9min!

Hopefully this cache lasts for a while, but in the long run it may need something a little more weather proof.
Well done on getting in on the game though!

Well the ageing Bushfire was too slow tonight and could not even get the first log spot.
You asked for comment so I would always advise cachers to find more caches before starting to hide as this may not last because of its location. The bark will alert children, adults and dogs to investigate. I think the dogs will be the first to locate it as they can smell anything that is different.
A better option may have been to hang a small bison or similar up in the tree.
Well done on your first hide and hope to meet up sometime.

Off goes the phone, with the newly configured system, down with the cutlery and out the door. Says Jinky, I think this is no standing, John says just behind that parked car! Of course they were cachers too, and we shouldn't have been there, but we weren't there for long. Cheers to you all, we'll be faster next time. Left geonickel, TN, SL TFTC!

Suscoe enjoyed seeing the faces by torch light this evening.
It's amazing what people will do for a new container.
Well done to MrTreeMC for getting these folks moving so fast.
We will revisit when it is a lot quieter.
