Seventh find as we biked/trekked around the lake with the geokids. The kids decided they liked turning over rocks to find insects about now. TFTC.
A nice easy find on our way to our Tassie holiday. We decided to kill some time as the boat got delayed a few hours. So we picked out this like as a good spot and I am glad we did. We managed several caches and a good walk with our boys.
While Mrs Fergzter waited with our eldest son who was insisting his feet were falling off due to the walk myself and our youngest made our way to the GZ. When we uncovered the cache the youngest Fergzter grabbed it with excitement, then he must have though it was real because it dropped it and screamed in fright. After a moment of explaining he was OK with it again and went back to playing with the camo as I signed the log. Kids.... they will be the death of me I swear.
TFTC Mudbrick.

More like a earwigs place. The kids loved the container. Tftc. (signed log as kptwit68)
Youngest geokid who had started dragging his feet and making me carry his scooter soon quickened his snail's pace when we said he could find this one. And find it he did. TNLNSL returned as found. TFTC
We approached this one at the opposite to snails pace - my geoson sprinted across the beautifully coloured pigface and pounced. Super day to be out here. TFTC
7/11 the grass looked clear and we all marched over to this hide. It was quickly found and geotwins loved the construction of the cache. I'm wondering where all the characters came from, they are delightful. Signed and re-hidden we march back to the path again. A family pass us on their bikes. my marching soldiers instructed to "keep to the left" give them so much room that grandma muggle cyclists says she feels fat as she goes by.
Finally, bub fell asleep so we had all the time in the world. Didnt need it though, coords spot on to revealing the treasure. TFTC
After picking up a few in the HX area both Mel & I decided upon a quick walk around the lake - HAHA and quick walk ended up taking us across the other side of the lake - This is the first time I have made the effort to walk it - well worth the effort.
The hide:
Snapped this one faster than snail pace - easily spotted upon approach - cute little sucker. Camouflaged best as we could

Enjoying this lovely walk. It helped that the day was perfect weather too. Makes a change after the long cold winter we have had. A quick find here. TFTC mudbrick
Found by Mary & David at 1700. A small detour off the path, then found the cache ok after a brief search. Our thanks to mudbrick.
Decided to head out late in the afternoon for a walk around Cherry Lake with Geofamily. Hopefully we collected enough clues for the Mystery Cache. TFTC & the series!!!
In Melbourne working & had just finished work. Went to look at a boat place & then decided to stop in at this lake for a walk around & collect some geocachers along the way. Wet & cold, lets hope I make it all the way around. Enjoyed this cache. Geomum has been telling me all about these & now I have finally seen one. TFTC
Out and about today with Mudbrick and Bentley Parker in tow on a beautiful sunny Sunday. Joined the CO for a maint run whilst he stood back and watched me poke around for his hides! A great way to finish up the weekend.
Fitting hide - plenty of pelicans, brown ducks and purple swamp hens out and about today!

I'd had my eye on this series for a while now and today the chance arose to go for a bit of a drive out this way, so I packed the bikes and 5 year old in the car and we headed off. I didn't even realise this reserve and walking path existed but it's a beautiful space and a nice way to spend a sunny winter afternoon. Not that many people around so we had the path mostly to ourselves which allowed us to move around at a gentle pace to enjoy the scenery and the interesting range of different geocaches. A quick find and onto the next one. Thanks for the cache mudbrick.
Another ingenious cache found today on our walk around the lake with Misschief18.

Out with sobell family for a nice walk around lake. 3 geokids 2 on bikes 1 in pram and a geodog. thanks for the cache
Plenty of little bunny scratches and poos around this area I think they could be a bit quicker than a snails pace. Thanks mudbrick FTC.
Cute cache, found with littlemsminty and sierra117 on a cold and wet sunday morning. TFTC
Manzie and I headed out today to complete the caches surrounding Cherry Lake and have a nice walk in the process. When we started our walk there were a lot of muggles around enjoying a barbecue. Please don't let them all start walking around the lake anytime soon ... Predictably, the muggles did enjoy a stroll around the lake, but they were long gone now, so we able to relax and complete the rest of the series without fear of being questioned. We were enjoying the thought that has gone into these caches—nice to see something a bit different! Manzie came up trumps after a short search for this one. TFTC!
I found this cache today at 10:15am as number 7 of 17 on my Altona Morning Ramble. Not so many people on this side of the park so I was easily able to wander off for this one. I now have 3 of 4 clues. Thanks from D B-A.
I dod the cherry lake series ages ago but this one was out of action at the time. I had a bit of time on my hands so I thought I would get this one. Great day, great spot for a cache.
Continuing on with our morning walk and we ventured down back to the lake and grabbed this pretty obvious hide. Well constructed again and enjoyed it. TFTC
#1763 7th of 10 we found here today. Certainly put a lot of work into creating these caches mudbrick, well done.
For Labour Day, the GeoFamily decided they wanted a geocaching day. Looking around Melbourne, we decided on Cherry Lake and all the caches in the area. This one was our eigth find for the day. We found it at 1:31 PM. Another quick and easy find for the family. Quickly signed the cache and we were on our way to the next point. TFTC.
NOOOOOOOO !!!!!!! Couldn't even get close to the cache today. There were 2 council workers spraying for weeds right on GZ. Not nearby, right at GZ.... [xx(] [xx(] How dare they keep this park in tip top shape... Looks like another return trip is on the cards. Thanks anyway mudbrick.
My 4yo found this one and was suitably excited by the experience. Good container and good location. Thanks!
Moving clockwise around the lake this was next on the list. Rob's kids really liked this one as you rarely encounter snails this big!
Thanks mudbrick
Thanks mudbrick
We set out on Australia Day for a morning of caching around Cherry Lake. We enjoying finding the cache.

Were here on passing holiday and collecting caches, what a great series, seen plenty of rabbits along the tracks, butterflies fluttering around. variety of hides and techniques, when we started it the weather was cooling down after a HOT day and as we were half way it started to rain, how refreshing. TFTC
What a lovely surprise. It was full of earwigs! Emptied out and closed lid properly for next find. TFTC
As we approached GZ we saw the tell tale signs of a cache hide. Once there we found a sleepy snail who was the holder of information. Once the info was retrieved everything was restored to its rightful place and off we headed. TFTC
This series has been on my list for a while. I was going to watch the last day of the Boxing Day test, but the spitting rain meant that it was on and off. It seemed like a great opportunity to head out and tick this series off. I started in the rain with my coat on, then the sun came out and by the time I got back to the car it was 27 deg C.
Really enjoyed the series and thank for putting this together.

During my work and travel year in Australia I'm trying to solve my 365 days of caching challenge. Having a moving home zone should make this definitely way easier.
After I found the Altona Story yesterday I got enough time today to walk around the Cherry Lake.
I was a bit worried, because these caches haven't been found for more than one and a half months, but luckily most of the boxes could be found right away and were in a good condition.
This one was found fast and easy, but the snail was occupied by a massive spider..
TFTC and greetings from Germany

The snail was slow enough to let us catch it. Nice container in a solid home!

Out and about with Echidna44 for the day. We did this the wrong way round so this ended up being last instead of first. Really enjoyed our walk and the caches that you have made. There has been a lot of effort to bring a lot of smiles. Nice easy find. Just love the containerl. What a wonderful park this is but we struck a very windy day.
Thanks for the caches mudbrick

Not only the cache, but the structure it was attached to has been removed. I will seek out an alternetive location shortly.

After attending an event on August 1 to start off my August souvenir collection I was inspired by a couple of people who had already collected all 7 souvenirs on the first day! The weather was really awesome for a change so today I had 3-4 hours (hopefully plenty of time) and having already done a multi on the way home from the event the other day I headed out to get a Virtual cache, an Earth cache, a puzzle and a few traditional caches today. I was very successful today with no DNF's. That's a big change for me.
After finding a nearby puzzle I had solved ages ago I parked the car in the main car park and decided to walk around the whole lake.
I went clockwise today around the lake and after a couple of quick looks I didn't find anything then I saw the container out in the grass behind the fence a few metres away. All is ok, nothing missing I returned it to where the hint said it should be. A lot of these logs are very full so had to sign along the sides.
Thanks mudbrick for the cache, the hunt and the fun.
