Great location for a cache, super quick park and grab. Beautiful location, even on a cold damp morning. Thanks for the cache
We drove from Palmy to Rangiwahia (Id never heard of it either!) this afternoon! Picked up a small number of caches along the way. This one was a quick find. #7571. TFTC.
Stopped in Kimbolton on way through with caravan safari. Had a nice walk around learning some history of the town. Nicec easy find cache. Well placed for weather.

A nice quick find. I was able to get in and out without being spotted by the garener moving the bowling green. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I were in Auckland for a few days visiting family, and now we are on the trek home. We left Ohakune @ about 0900 and got into the Wellington camping ground just after 1730. We had at different times during the day, wind and rain but mostly overcast skies. A great day for a cruise.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

Spending a lovely day at the Kimbolton Sculpture Festival. Quick break from the chaos to collect this one. Thanks
Thanks capperz for a nice quick cache while collecting data for the multi nearby...

We looked at grabbing this cache as we headed through town collecting ad lab and multi stages but there was a car parked right by GZ and people gardening at the bowling club very nearby so we had a quick glance and decided we could not be stealthy enough with muggles nearby. We carried on with collecting our stages and as we headed back past the coast was clear so we ducked in to make a quick find here.
Based ourselves nearby for a few days to hopefully complete the local cache trails, nice quick find while the village is quiet TFTC.
Nice easy cache, clear instructions. A short walk from the old bank where I am staying
#11,248. Lucky last for the day. I decided to make the most of a fine winters day and head north to the sunny Manawatu to do the caches along these inland ridges as far north as Apiti. Managed to get 38 finds today and only 4 DNF's. Fortunately the DNF's were got out of the system early on and most of the day was successful. Enjoyed the great views across to the Ruahines and the ambience of the winter countryside in this area of sheep farms and scattered copes of native bush. On the way back home now but stopped here at sunset. A quick read of the description and hint and the cache was soon in hand. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks capperz for hiding it here. I love finding caches at rural halls. Skindo certainly showed us where they were scattered across the lower North island.
Some time (years) ago I set myself a goal of getting the top ten oldest (still active) caches in the North Island for the Old School Challenge, GC325CX. Todays goal was my 9th find on this list, GC34F. I left Wellington at 05:30 (avoiding the typical weekend traffic issues) for a 09:00 start from the Rangiwahia track carpark where, after a discussion about this at an event last weekend, The Seagnoid would be joining me for the walk. Cyclone Fili passing through the country during the week caused me some concern but the weather gods smiled and today was a stunning Easter Friday day, perfect conditions for caching.
As I had made good time on my way up here, I stopped here for a quick find. All quiet along the street and at the hall which made it an easy find. Log was safe and dry. TFTC

Had to drive out to Apiti to collect something and stopped at the pub for a drink and chips for lunch. Enjoyed the sunshine as we walked down to the hall. Nice quick find. TFTC
Nice and easy find. Very quiet in Kimbolton this morning. Meeting a friend for coffee at Hansen’s and had a little window of opportunity for geocaching. TFTC
Out around the Manawatu on a SHIELD mission with Talla64. Kimbolton is such a delightful place with some nice buildings and an interesting village walk. Thanks for placing a cache here - quick find, no-one around.
This is the second day of the second visit to the Manawatu to pick up the S.H.I.E.L.D. series with Flowerydaze. This one just happened to be close to the coffee shop and we got it also.
My girls attended Pippins for a few years so I always try to stop and find caches at Girl Guiding halls when going past. The gps took me somewhere else once I was through but I soon cottoned on to where it should be and put my hand on it right away. Thanks for placing.
Been SHIELD chasing and would have been rude not to stop at a community hall cache. I do like the spirit of these ones. TFTC.
I disappeared into the drizzle for few more steps while the rest of the party sorted their lunch. The hot roads were turning the rain into hazy wispy steam! Thanks capperz!
#1629. Found with GB Leader at 2.30 after lunch at the nearby cafe. Day 2 of our S.H.I.E.L.D expedition.
GB Leader spotted it after I'd walked through the gate into the hall property. Back on the road again soon. More SHIELDS to look for!

#8 for the day. Recovered under the suspicious eyes of the local lawn bowlers.TFTC
I spent today getting S.H.I.E.L.D. caches and any others that were along the way.
I took a lunch beak from the series, then started back on the trail by coming over to get this cache. TFTC.

Staying at the National Bank on a road trip down to Wellington, had a bite in the pub then out to grab some caches. Quick find in good condition. Looks like it hasn't been found for a while. TFTC.
Called in after the Country Fair. Very busy in the town but quiet near the cache. Nice hide. All good here. Thanks capperz.
Found at 7 September 2020 11:35 am.
I'm on a two-day geocaching roadtrip, logging my finds as I go (where possible). Will expand when I get home. TFTC

Looks like I have the first post lockdown find. Still in excellent condition. Had very nice lunch at Hansons cafe while on a Sunday drive around the Apiti loop. Thanks for bringing me here.
Already found one today towards my current streak of consecutive daily geocache finds. This one gives me the two I need today to give me at least three caches each day of the calendar.
Just walking around Kimbolton on this beautiful warm day. In reality I log this in the nice cool local pub having an even cooler single beer.
Straight forward find. Just a couple of scraps of paper in here for the log so I've bagged them to keep them dry in the coming Winter. All good here. TFTC
Never did figure out what the in-joke about Skindo missing old halls is about.

The aim today was to get as many Sheild caches as possible however as we were going right past a number of traditionals it seemed a waste not to get them. All quiet here except for a guy on horse back who was meandering up the High street, stopping at the pub and shops. One way to do your groceries. Cache all fine. Thanks

Old style hall, Easy find as per hint, no probs here.
We remember doing loads of Skindo hall caches back in 2013 and before, we must have just missed the publication of this one by a couple of months!!

I had heard a lot about the beauty of the tramp to be had up to Rangiwahia Hut from friends who have done that walk previously, and had wondered about how I might manufacture a chance to go and experience it for myself. So when I heard that GC34F had been Muggled but that the cache had not been lost but was available to be replaced then I was delighted to volunteer to join up with PGCNZ to go and put it back in place.
Of course this meant that we would be able to do a few more searches along the long trip back from the tramp such as this one. I was hoping for a quick and easy find to boost my numbers as I was perilously close to not getting my personal goal of 50 finds for the month, but I needn't have worried as the cache was found after only a short search.
All was fine with the container and the log, which was quickly signed and then everything replaced exactly as found. Thanks for placing this cache here, and helping to make my day memorable.

Time for a stop to eat and pick up nearby caches. Found the cache tucked away. Thanks.
Stopped for a feed and a look at the haast eagle so had to get this as well thanks capperz all good TFTC
After spending the morning caching with only the map - no clues or what I was looking for I finally got this loaded which was just as well as I would not have found it without the clue.

On a caching weekend with McJandals, Phillip Perry, and Davidson clan. After staying the night at a Airbnb we got on the road early to pick up the Shield caches. Enjoyed the puzzles and then collecting them as a team - Team BOP. Lots of fun and laughs on some back roads and even picking up a few extras. Thank to the COs for bringing us here and creating some great puzzles and caches Nice to do these after the Shield . TFTC
Down in Manawatu with Nzflossy Philip.Perry and McJandals for a weekend of caching. Clearing out Kimbolten now we have finished the Shield series.

The crazy Labour Weekend plan is now in full swing. McJandals, NZFlossy & Davidson Clan are joining me for 29 TMGT Caches, the Shield & Stickman series and what ever we can find in between. Almost all the caches were found quickly and good condition with exceptions to those not equipped with water proof paper... We’ve signed individually or as TeamBOP depending on time, log space or mood. I’d like to acknowledge watcache, mar1ssa & the TMGT volunteers who have given this trip focus, and all the other COs who have made this trip such an adventure - TFTC
I’m using a Cachly logging template for these logs but I’ll endeavour to add to these once I’m home again. Apologies but until then it’s pretty much cut’n’paste from here. Thanks again.

With no mega this year, a plan was hatched with Team BOP to come to the lower Nth Island to get some numbers knocked off, so here we are and loving it!! I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers
The last cache of quite a long day in the country finding the S.H.I.E.L.D series. Then it was time to head to Palmy to find a bed for the night. Cheers and TFTC
TFTC. Now we have the main business of the day (the shield) concluded, it's time to pick up a few caches as we work our way back to our accommodation in Palmie. Team JENI made quick work of this one.TFTC.
On a geocaching adventure with Infoferret, Nosynel and Ethness. Signed logs as J.E.N.I. Thank you for the cache!

Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au
If you can't make Aussie. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland. I will keep you posted in my logs.
Thanks for hiding this geocache.

On our own mega weekend with Infoferret, Jude_E, and NosyNel - 2 North Islanders and 2 Mainlanders - what can we get up to? We have found all the Shield caches and now are collecting others. Signed as JENI. TFTC
We had been away on a staff retreat in Raurimu in National Park at The Salvation Army's Blue Mountain Adventure Center. On the way back to Wellington, one of our staff team talked about this cool small town she had come across and stayed in a while back at a place just off the main street. So, before we knew it we had arrived in downtown Kimbolton enjoying a great lunch at the cafe on the main street. However, while lunch was being prepared, another one of our staff members who is a recent convert to the ways of the cache asked the magic question... 'I wonder if there are any caches around here?' So that is how we came to focus on this particular cache. So three of us made our way to GZ on foot... and ClareEG zeroed in on GZ and I soon had the cache in hand. So the log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in its spot all ready for the next finder. Thank you capperz for taking the time to set up this cache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC!
(# 4925). Today was the day to the S.H.I.E.L.D. series. Started off in Kimbolton doing 3 non series caches then the series via various back roads and finished off just inland from Hunterville. A quick find. Everything in order. Managed to get 94 caches (including all 89 in the series) with zero DNF's. Lots of smiley faces. A marvelous day driving in the NZ countryside with Just-Lookin. TFTC
On our way to Turangi, stopped in Kimbolton for a coffee. What a delightful place and super cafe. No trouble finding the cache accurate hint. TFTC
Out for a day's caching around the backblocks of the Manawatu, mainly picking up the SHIELD series and a few other nearby caches. A total of 7 hours 15min to find the SHIELD series and a few others in between.
All in all, a great day out with SAROC and Yeetrees.

Had a nice chat to the local greenkeeper of the bowling club as a distraction to Ryan finding the cache. Interesting little area and love the little library nearby. TFTC
This was a quick find after locating a puzzle cache nearby. I initially thought it was a bit rough to refer to an omission as it seems a fair way from skindoland. However, I do seem to remember finding a hall cache not far from here that had been placed by skindo.
Quick and easy find while with the tramping club bike ride to Apiti today on way to makoura Lodge.

We headed out to Kimbolton and beyond, to find a few caches on this very cold windy morning. We parked in Edwards St and walked around the corner to GZ. Nobody nearby and we quickly had the cache in hand. Thanks.
I have set myself a goal to get the requirements for the mystery cache The well-rounded cacher challenge (Manawatu) This requires me to get 25 badges 5 of which need to be gemstone badges. So each time I go out caching weather it is by myself or with fellow cacher I will try to get a least one cache that will get me closer to my goal
Out today grabbing some caches with the aim of getting enough caches to get the World Turtle souvenir and also getting some caches that will help with my main goal
Today's plan is to start from Kimbolton and travel along some county roads make my way over to Pohangina Valley E Rd then head to Ashhurst collecting caches along the way
Quick easy fined
Thanks for the cache

Time for another geocaching trip with my matey 2 Bulbars, having just lost our good geocaching buddy Priceless Time (Michael Price) we decided that the best thing we could do was a weekend out caching in his memory. RIP Priceless, our thoughts are with you on your caching journey. So, after a quick drive down from New Plymouth we got into the caches: on Day 1, first to the west of Bulls then to the East and South finally into Fielding for the night and a few urban caches. Day 2 work our way back north and east to the CITO at the Rangiwahia bush track. Then back out to civilisation and home. So for this one it’s mission accomplished, this one is a wrap.TFTC! On a weekend mission with Cats&Dragons, for a bit of a numbers run along the new trails around the Northern Manawatu area, and anything else along the way. As usual these types of trips mean maximizing caching time and minimizing sleep time. So with a 2am start time Saturday morning we left home and headed South, and not getting back home til 8.30pm Sunday night. Some numbers for the trip as I know we all like caching stats are:
* 1450km traveled.
* 286 caches found (192 on Saturday, 94 on Sunday) with only 3 DNF's
* 4 hours sleep
* With a 3 hour each way drive to the Caching area, so about 32 hours of caching in the 42 hours we were away at an average of nearly 9 caches per hour, this isn't including stopping for fuel and coffee!!!
So a huge thanks to all the CO's for the placements, and for the reason to see some more of our wonderful country, we saw some pretty amazing places. Sorry for the copy and paste logs. We signed the log books HKCD, or HKCBC&D.
