Well we found where every stashes their empty spray paint cans! But it was an easy find with coords and clue spot on!

16-Jun-24
Little bit tricky. Thanks

16-Jun-24
Found with RottenRobyn21. Tricky but got there

19-Jan-24
The water tanks are massive. The cache is where it says it should be though the geotrails are hard to spot. The hint is useful even though the fence post has rotted through at ground level and fallen over. Tracing the water supply with grandson JoggIn jnr.Log book is damp and being a receipt book will absorb moisture. Thanks for the placement and bringing us here.

02-Jan-24
Thank you, love the raffle ticket logbook. I hope #11 is a winning ticket

30-Dec-23
Swapped a treasure. Cache/log still in good condition. What an experience going into the bush, took a bit to find it, was well camouflaged!

06-Aug-23
Slightly overshot thongs and then waited as phone settled from 19m-1m (!) quickly. (Have never noticed that happen before) Quick look around and there it was! That is not the norm for me! Chilly up here today. - and what an enormous 2nd water tank!
Many thanks

21-Jul-23
Batons up!
The cache and log were in fine condition.
Cheers.

Sleepy was here!

28-Feb-23
Focusing on the Less Travelled trio of caches this evening, but couldn't pass up the opportunity to stop en route to get this one. Entered the bush at slightly the wrong angle, so overshot the mark briefly. Soon came back to make the find. All good in container. Tftc!

23-Oct-22
So this cache was not in the plans for today - but I missed a key turn off and found myself up here as I pulled over to re-orientate. It just kinda felt like there would be a cache here so I turned the filter off and what do you know! A great little spot to go clambering around in some bushes in-between navigating to the next cache. Thanks jimmynz and GR33nslime a cool spot. cache all well here.

27-Sep-22
Bonus public holiday today, and Mumma muggle has to work, so off the boys go for a day of caching.
Loved all the graffiti around the tanks, quick find here.
Thanks!

12-May-22
Just before I left work this afternoon I saw that a new cache had been published in Tawa. Could I get to it in time?

Well actually no. Half way over the Heywards I saw that it had been found. No matter, I'll just grab a nearby one. This turned out to be the easiest to get to, although it still required getting through scrub trying not to ruin my clothes.

But I got there and it was an easy find. No problems with the cache, which was soon replaced once I'd put my name in the log.

Thanks for bringing me here.

11-Apr-22
Been meaning to stop and look for this one in ages. Interesting to wander around the tanks and view the graffiti. Tftc

18-Mar-22
Found at the end of a long week at school! A smile in the midst of Covid chaos!

28-Jan-22
A nice quick find thanks. Last for the day. I decided not to go cross country to the next nearest cache! Cheers.

Time for another trip to the North Island for Ms_KR and me. Yus back on the road again, and crusing around Tawa. Porirua and Titahi Bay. A showery morning but the rest of the day has been great.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

05-Jan-22
Finally the roadworks have finished this spot so could get in to explore. Didn't realise there was a second tank behind this one! All good and dry here, Tftc.

16-Oct-21
I also bushbashed from the stream at the bottom of valley. (Or gorge might be a better description.) Though it wasn't really bush-bashing - it was more climbing, pulling myself up hand over hand on trees and branches. Underfoot was nasty - very slippery and almost as bad as a scree slope. All the way up I came across rubbish which obviously came down from the road above - car parts, tyres, pipes. A few times I got quite worried that if I hit a dead end going up I wouldn't be able to get back down. But eventually the regenerating bush gave way to gorse and blackberry and I knew I was getting close to civilisation! Strange thing is half of the total distance from leaving the stream was actually walking around the tanks at the top, so although the climb was only half the distance I expected, it was also twice as steep. It may have been quicker to head downstream to the substation then walk up the road! The find was straight forward - didn't see the hint object but I recognised the very typical hide. I then did the sensible thing and returned to the substation via SH58. TFTC.

07-Jun-21
Bushbashed up here from the tramping track down below next to stream. Easy find..tftc!

27-Feb-21
Couldn't park where the cache page suggests due to the current roadworks but parked further down at the Haywards Substation (with the current layout you can walk alongside the road behind the barrier and well away from the traffic). Found this one with eldest son who wanted to take photos of the graffiti on the tanks. The cache was a quick find, and it is in nice dry condition. TFTC

02-Aug-20
Can't get access to this section of road at the moment, this strip has been reserved as a Site Access point for roadwork vehicles. Hopefully it will open up again soon

01-Mar-20
Tftc, out for an afternoon with geeves90.

01-Mar-20
Out with Kimmy+co we were on a mission to find a Guide camp...
Thought they were at Battle hill, nope so over the Hayward's we came more caching to happen really

02-Feb-20
Windy place today! All in good condition here TFTC

#7444. The last park and grab find on what proved to be a very wet Wellington day. Used a break in the weather to race out to the Hutt Valley and pick a up a few caches. It was all quiet at GZ today. Parked and headed around behind the tanks. The bush was rather dripping wet but you can always dry out later. I couldn't see the hint object at first so had to widen the search a bit before I spied it. Just as well it was fairly obvious as the cache would have been tricky to locate in the low regenerating bush. But soon saw a familiar hiding style and had the cache in hand. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks jimmynz and Gr33nslime for hiding it here.

18-Jun-19
I had to come over the hills today as I had an appointment in the Hutt Valley. So I decided to see if I could find this cache along the way. I didn't see the old fencepost but it didn't take long to locate the cache. The cache is holding up well. So the log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in it's spot all ready for the next hunter. Thanks heaps for taking the time to set up this cache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so.

This is geo streak day #1033 in a row for me today. TFTC

22-Apr-19

Nice easy find on a road trip with Claireyc

TFTC found while heading away for the weekend with nzref

22-Sep-18
I have been out in the Pauatahunui Inlet area five days this week already... doing some maintenance on a few caches and enjoying the sunshine. I own a six of the Kiwi Geo Trail series and the log books were getting wet and two of the containers were missing. There wasn't any maintenance left to do, but I still decided to go out and have a look for a few caches today. I stopped here to drop off a TB that I have been carrying around for too long.

I have been here before so I went straght to the cache and out the TB in the container. Then I put everything back where I found it and got on my way.

The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry.

Thank you

Took a walk around the tanks to check out the view. Came across onions growing, so picked a few to take home and replant. Very random thing to find on our adventures. Cache was a good find, watch out for the hill drop as you enter the bush

24-Feb-18
What an awesome day for caching, began the weekend after work on Friday and headed to Feilding to pick up the other half of the geocaching team. Heading off around 5.15pm. Getting a few caches Friday night before resting at our accomodation in paraparaumu beach for the night. Got up this morning at 5:30am ready to get our goal for the day being the rest of our 250 caches in February that we missed out on last year. We set off getting this cache as the first 1 of the day.

Parked up on the side of the road, quite dangerous so be very careful especially when pulling off and back onto the road again. Was a surprise to sed the size of the tanks very large to ones we have seen before, well hidden cache. Signed log and replaced where we found it, thanks for the cache.

21-Jan-18
Quick find once I got to GZ, then I thought I would take a more direct route out, which reduced me to crawling... anyway, all good at GZ, tanks for the cache

07-Jan-18
Great to have a place to stop off the busy road. Took a bit to find the 'trail' but we soon spied a likely spot and had the cache in hand. Some political graffiti here, but we particularly enjoyed 'dull and boring' which was anything but. Tftc

14-Oct-17
A quick log to sort out the found its from the DNFS, more later when I get better Internet.
A trip overseas was on the cards with a long haul pencil aircraft trip of 16 minutes had me away from the Mainland for a week and a half on a course in Upper Hutt. Luckily I had a set of wheels at my disposal with big thanks to caching friend wb so I wasn't to be stranded at my digs and able to get out and make some local finds. With a whole weekend at my disposal, I decided on a two-prong attack; Paekakariki to Pukerua Bay trail on Saturday, with a couple of earthcaches thrown in and a planned trip around the headland at Porirua on the Sunday. I managed a repsectable half-century of finds on the Saturday, but the weather never played fair on Sunday so pland were amended. A great walk was had on the Saturday with fantastic views all around and a pleasant stroll which, with caching, took over 4 hours and followed up with a quick 8 minute train trip baqck to get the car. Good time caching in the area, thansk to all the COs for their placements, and therefore my enjoyment.

Did you know that planning has started for a Mega Event in Wellington in 2018? Check out the details on the [WENZ Website](https://sites.google.com/site/wenzgeo2018/home) or visit the event's page on [FaceBook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/590545297801072/) and don't forget to log your attendance on the [WENZ Event Page](https://www.geocaching.com/…/GC78NMQ_wenz-event-2018-wellin…)

Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn't be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn't take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code.

25-Feb-17
Have passed many times and finally remembered to look for the cache. Took a while as I didn't trust the GPS so didn't go in far enough but eventually found the cache easily due to the accurate coordinates.

20-Feb-17
The 'wee trail' is a bit overgrown and this morning the bushes were very wet. I found the hide just off the trail but exactly where I'd expected it to be from the hint,

I was passing by this cache today and had a few minutes to spare. I had seen this on the geocache map but (before today) never had time to stop for a look.

The cache is in good condition. The log is a little damp but I was still able to write on it.

Thank you

Heading south on business with a plan to pick up some caches as I went and this was one of thirty odd picked up on the way there and back. Plenty of room to stop and wander around the tanks which I did before heading off down the track. Once under the scrubbery cover was a quick find where I TNLNSL.

Day #4 geocaching in NZ/ second day of two spent in Wellington + surroundings, in good company (=vipema, Veke68 & Katsukka = VVK-FIN in the logbooks, most of the time). Had a great time and found a lot of caches + saw so many interesting/beautiful places.

Thank you!!!!

28-Oct-15
Long time dream came true and we could visit New Zealand. NZ Mega was our maingoal and we had time to find others too. We travelled together with Veke68 and Katsukka and had great time. We used VVK Fin (that is vipema, Veke68 and Katsukka) in mostly logbooks to save space.

Thanks for the cache.

Greetings from Finland.

28-Oct-15
Two days Wellington trip with Vipema and Katsukka. Many nice views and caches. We logged mostly only VVK-FIN to save space in the logbook. Greetings from Finland!

Thanks

11-Oct-15
Thanks for the cache

10-Oct-15
A quick stop-off on the way to Happy Anniversary event in Wainuiomata -well placed, an easy find.

02-Oct-15
Wow what big tanks! Instructions for stopping were helpful then an easy find. Tftc

20-Sep-15
I had previously tried to get this one a while back with the geokids, but the mistake I had made then was using the trail spotted on the wrong side of the fence. This was compounded by the fact that I found a hint object down that trail and spent ages looking for the cache in that area. This time there was no such problem and I soon spotted the hide. TFTC

19-Jul-15
Quick find after a wandering around these huge tanks. Would never have stopped but for the cache. Thanks

21-Jun-15
Unsure how many times I've driven past here and never once noticed these massive tanks. Easy find on this cold breezy evening ☺TFTC

14-Jun-15

Massive tanks. Wouldn't want to be next to them during the BIG ONE. Went for a swim anyway (OK I made that up). Easy parking and cache all dry and happy. TFTC!

14-May-15
#1794 Made a quick stop in here on my way to work- was finally running ahead of schedule! Found easily and in good condition. In hindsight, very glad that I made the find this morning and hadn't left it for the afternoon!! It was chaos with all the flooding and traffic. TFTC!

19-Apr-15
One of many finds during a weekend cache raid of the area. We enjoyed great weather, fun caches and we managed to fill a few boxes on some challenges we are working towards. Quick find for this one and we made this our lunch stop TFTC.

TFTC pen was missing so i replaced it Wink

07-Nov-14
Have been meaning to stop and log this cache for some time on one of my quite regular trips to the Hutt Valley but never usually think about it till on the way home when access would involve a couple of dodgy U-turns. Remembered about it at the right time tonight so stopped and went for a look. After checking out these quite impressive tanks, the well hidden track was found. My GPS was struggling with the tree cover but the hint helped heaps and cache was quickly found. Loved the log book, cant wait till its drawn! SLTFTC

07-Nov-14
A nice fast find, something I have come to love as we're getting a cache a day! I am absolutely exhausted from staying up all night studying, and then sitting exams, so fast caches are key at the moment! TFTC

25-Oct-14
Master R found it no time at all. Nice work.

25-Oct-14
A couple of cars already parked in the area when we drove up but I think they were innocents who disappeared from the scene by the time we had done one round around the tanks. Then someone else turned up and disappeared into the bushes. Got a bit excited at this stage thinking it might be a fellow geocacher but he soon reappeared and we figured he's been relieving himself! No more interruptions after that. The hint helped and we located the container. I especially liked the use of the raffle book as a log book. Good idea. GC all in good order.
