OCW PelDroedGwin Towing the caravan with geopets in the car, heading south towards Getaldton we pulled in to this historic site to tick off another LGA. A quick find. Tftc
I was staying in Nanson with dear family friends to celebrate the life of my surrogate grand father and took the opportunity to grab a couple of caches to try and turn a few more LGAs green. We pulled up to this one and is so often the case headed off in the wrong direction for several metres and then quickly retrieved the cache that was rather exposed and added my name to the log. After replacing I added a little more camoflague and off to the next one. Thanks Squash2 for showing me this forgotten location, it looks like Howatharra was once a thriving community.
Its great how geocaching brings you to little known sites and adds to a place by giving context and history. We're staying nearby, so an obvious cache for us to target on our travels. Tftc
On our Australian trip . After started for some days in Darwin we are on the road to Perth now .On the Road after Katherine we have seen Edith Falls, Kunnurra and Bungles Bungle. Finally we cross the Pentecost-river to enter the Gibb RiverRoad . A lot to see like Emma Falls, El Questro, Mitchel Falls, Manning Gorge, Galvans Gorge, Bell Gorge, Tunnel Creek and Windjana Gorge .Now return on the sealed road again . Further over Derby, Broome, Port Hedland, Karratha, Karijini NP, Exmouth and now down the coast to Perth .After Coral Bay, Carnarvan and Monkey Mia, we headed further on the road and stopped for this one .After finding the cache easily I also found the special school .Nice stop.TFTC# 17'334
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 84 - Geraldton to Euraday area via Northampton. Today was a steady drive north for half a day. I did a couple of caches as I left Geraldton and then managed to pick up a few more along the way. The best bit was a detour for the Ajana Binnu Trail Labs and caches. The old dam was very impressive and must have been quite impressive when the lid was intact. My roadside camp was a little noisy, but had some network coverage so I was able to keep a bit up to date. Hamelin pool for tomorrow, even less driving and only one cache to do.At this spot, the water has receded from what recent cachers mention, and I was able to access the site without any acrobatics. I got a bit hung u on one area, but the cache was eventually spotted in a very close by location and th log has been signed. Thanks for the cache Squash248609.6 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Antarctica and South America 2024 A#550**Albida**
The big pool of water in front of GZ told the story of the weather lately. And it was only good timing that this cache hunt was a dry one. Walked the blue metal highroad to GZ for a quick find. TFTC Squash2.
A caching trip from Canberra, ACT to Cape York, Qld and then around the gulf to East Arnhem Land, NT then over the top of WA and down to Perth.Interesting detours to Thursday Island, Mabuiag Island, Mornington Island, Doomadgee, Hells Gate, Nhulunbuy, Wadeye, Litchfield Nat Park, Wyndham, the Gibb River Road, Monkey Mia, Meekatharra & Wiluna TFTC.A good drop of rain before arriving flooded out the area a bit. Cache is nice and dry.
A giant puddle of water right by the tree had a slight detour around on the Ridge of stones just for fun. Cache easily located and all good with it. Thanks for the cache!
Hi there Squash2. While out on the road today we found this cache at 1211pm after a short search - and the container and log are in good condition. TN, LN, SL. Thanks to Squash2 for this cache - our find 10892 and the 3rd of 11 finds for the day.FieldNotes: The cache and Log are in good condition.
Quick find after reading the nearby info boards--------------Decided to do a long road trip, flying in from Canberra, starting and finishing the drive in Port Hedland. It was a long day of flights, followed by 7 days of lots of kilometres. I stopped at every 'point of interest' along the way, I wanted to miss nothing! Earthcaches, Virtuals & AL's are always very good waypoints for interesting things as well.Every night I downloaded a bunch of podcasts and these made the kilometres fall away. This was the first outback road trip I have done where I saw more emu's than kangaroos. The wild camels walking in the desert were also very cool to see. My trusty swag served me very well.
An easy find on our way back southTFTC Squash2. Found on 23 Sep 2023 at 11:47. Find # 2709
A quick PaG to break up the drive. I found your D1.5/T2.0 Small Traditional called Where's the School? on 23 September 2023. It was find #18493 for me. Thank you Squash2 for placing this cache for our enjoyment in the wonderful state of Western Australia.

I'm winding my way up to Exmouth for the eclipse After an overnight camp at Goodies, I was back in the car for the next leg up to Carnarvon... with a few caches to find on the way for good measure The two caches here were almost opposite the campsite so made sure to pull in and explore before heading north. After spending much longer than expected at the *Post Office* I was pleased this one was a quick cache & dash Always interesting to think what these places must have been like in their heyday. No problems here today - TFTC
Swiss Couple on the way from Geraldton to Monkey Mia. We are able to find some Geocache. Thank you very much for the Caches !
After spending the night in Billabong Motel Meadow I was taking on the last stage of my journey from Exmouth to Perth . As I was heading further south weather was constantly deteriorating, but it was still good enough for several cache stops . Thanks for giving me so many chances to pause my long journey and of course

Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply cruising from Geraldton to Kalbarri.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'Squash2' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'Where's the School?' and the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest.

Climbed the fence and dealt with the cache which was spotted as soon as we pulled up. Then went to read the information board which had exactly the same information as the nearby plaque. If the photo on the board represents the total school enrolment then the teacher must have had a fairly easy time of it. Not like the classes of over 30 pupils that we get at home now.
Thanks.
Thanks.
On our way home from an Easter break in the Murchison our mission was to clean up another area on the map, happy to say we did just that here today TFTC
Container was left out in open all wet have replaced container for you and notebook tftc
Found while enjoying an extended break in Geraldton from my travels. The cache was a nice easy find but I couldn't find the school either, although I didn't look too hard for it. TFTC.
We were staying with muggle friends at Nanson and they wanted to know a bit more about Geocaching so we joined forces with ProspectorsWA and headed out for a days caching.
We pulled up here as a couple of muggles on a motor bike were having a refreshment break so we read the information and made idle chit chat until they left and then headed off to gz.
Our muggle friend Carol was very excited to find her first geocache.
I wish we had a dollar for every old school site we have visited since starting Geocaching as we would have a lot more money to put fuel in the tank to visit many more.
Many thanks Squash2 for the cache.

Day 2 of our mini road trip and still in town doing some more caching. Today's plan tackle Alexander series then head to Northampton, Nabawa, and Nanson then back to Gero.
Have a few caches on my list so fingers crossed we can manage as many as possible
Turns out another warm day in town and I didn't pack my shorts
I got muggle to take photos of the sign while I quickly located the cache.
The log book was sitting on top of cache but thankfully was dry, signed it and placed it back inside of cache.
Covered it all over better than found it so now it has its little roof on again

Singapore - Perth - Rottnest Island - Penguin Island - Geraldton - Kalbarri - Denham - Carnarvon - Coral Bay - Exmouth - Port Hedland - Broome - Darwin and all Nationalparks on our way
Our trip with Stopover in Singapore and through Western Australia to the Northern Territory with the Campervan from Perth to Darwin led us to many beautiful caches. Sometimes the temperatures were very high for us Europeans, but we have always managed the walk well and are looking forward to standing so many miles from home in the logbook. Australia is a very fantastic country, with lots of sights and especially so many animals, from the kangaroo over dugongs, dolphins, emu's and even the blue whale and the whale shark we have seen a lot. We would like to thank all the owners for the layout of the caches, their care and the showing of mostly special places.
We send many greetings and a G 'Day from Leipzig in Germany from the 2 Supermuggels
