We arrived in Geraldton yesterday and after having breakfast this morning we headed out to find some local caches. We started off ok and then things went downhill with lots of DNFS. We only managed 23 finds today with 11 DNFS and I'm sure most of them were missing with a few tricky ones that we just couldn't find after searching for ages. Hopefully we have more luck tomorrow finding caches. TFTH
This one bought a screaming halt to our lucky run today. Oh well, maybe next time.
Looked twice and still couldn't find it to tricky for us with MC_ZombieSlayers_Mum
TFTC! This cache was found on my two and a bit day GeoTrip to Geraldton and surrounds to attend the International Geocaching Day event in Greenough.
The weekend started with a nighttime drive from Perth to Geraldton getting in at 1140pm after finding a couple of caches along the way in the dark. I rose on my first day in town as grabbed supplies before some CBD caching and then some more hides in Greenough before the event. I had a nice little run after the event following the guys chasing a few of the FTFs before getting back to my planned routes to help cleanup a lot of the newly published caches since my last visit in 2013. Had a reasonable day, which went Pretty pear shaped come mid afternoon, with a large number of DNFs in the northern Geraldton suburbs. I returned to my accomodation to freshen up and watch a bit of footy before heading out again on a night time run around the CBD. Big Mistake. had one of those blind nights, where the easy finds were impossible and I resorted to PAF to help guide me on some of the simplest hides!!
I was back on the saddle the next day grabbing a bunch of caches in southern Geraldton before attending the CITO event. Grabbed a few bits of rubbish and got talking to the local COs, where were most amused by my DNFs LOL. They were gracious enough to provide a large number of hints which Ive stored in the memory bank for next year!
Thanks to all of the locals for your hospitality this weekend and I'm looking forward to attending next year! Thanks

Checked on this and it has gone again. We are going to move its location slightly, stay tuned.
Out geocaching with the geobro, way too many mugglers so we decided to move on to the next one.
Had a look around but no luck. We did not want to search any longer as the local ranger was keeping an eye on us while cleaning the BBQ's nearby. But maybe wre just better in the more difficult ones.
Checked on this today and it had gone
Have replaced cache.
Please use stealth as it is in a high muggle area.

Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.

Doing a morning of caching before heading to the event and made a time limit on how much time I would spend at each cache so ended up not finding some.
Found this cache without problems in the first place I looked after arriving at GZ.
Thanks TeamBastholm for the cache.

After a morning of working in and around the house doing some jobs that have been in the too hard basket we decided to go for a drive to Derna park and relax a bit. We were surprised at the size and work that has/is going into this park. When the trees have grown a bit it should look really good. Like Team Pathfinder we drove around trying to find where to park, eventually opting for the footpath??? A glorious day and a lot of people around. We got to GZ and started looking and looking and looking. Something wrong here so we tried the drop test on the gps and it changed its mind to where GZ was. Thankfully this resulted in a quick find.
SL Thanks TeamBastholm, t'was good fun.

*FTF* Another first to find for us! Sorry guys but we did give you all a huge head start!
Notification of a new cache came through around 6pm yesterday evening and the temptation was to jump into the Cruiser and head over straight away but it was a tad chilly for us ex-northerners and dinner was a cookin' so we thought we would give someone else the opportunity to get there first.
This morning we were surprised to see that it still hadn't been logged and thought perhaps someone had found it but hadn't had the chance to log it yet. I suggested that we cycle across to find it and did get as far as working out it would be a 28 kilometre round trip give or take a few kilometres because I would have had to come back via the foreshore for morning tea. I walked down to our gazebo and found my chairs covered in prickles from one of our trees and immediately launched into getting rid of the offender before the council clean-up started so three hours later, time for lunch and cache still not found. Into the Cruiser we hopped and off to GZ.
We arrived to find the place swarming with Telcom guys digging cables. We hunted for a parking spot and elected to park on the street which in turn lead to a conversation with a chappy who lived nearby as to the legalities of street parking where we did. After I put in my two bobs worth about not parking on the footpath he gave us the thumbs up (nicely) and we headed over to find the cache.
This area looks so great now that the park has been put in, we were actually up here on Sunday and I had said to Ian there should be a cache here. While I stood guard with Rusty Ian hunted low and lower for the cache. With a council ute circling ever closer Ian finally came up the the goods! Yippee we were first to find.
Thanks TeamBastholm for an enjoyable afternoon.
