No find for this one today. Doing a trip from Lake Macquarie to Broken Hill and back, and have limited time. Probably spent to much time looking for the rating. tried walking on the handrail at night to no avail but this really would increase the terrain rating to at least 3. Will have to try some other time farmer--brown.
Attempted to find this at 11:29:00 AM on 22Apr2018

First attempt with the kids and no luck!! Looks like some work has been done with clearing the area and a fence put up, so hope it’s still there somewhere

Hi there farmer--brown.
We found your cache **"Ward Oval"** at 12:17:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 17325).
We cached around Cobar today, & thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the area. We ended up finding a variety of container types and sizes hidden along the way. Today we found 10 caches (& DNF'd 0). Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
**Dropped Trackable:** "Omas Vermächtnis".
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards

Finally found how to get into this cache after coming up against school property on our previous guesses. Amazing facility here, would love to see it when the show is on. Tftc
On my this year's AUSTRALIA trip (AUS-17) also here approached and the log possibility used. Thanks for the cache.

Last stop on the way home from our walk! Nice and easy one this time. Thankfully there wasn't too many kids around with sport being on today!! Took a little bit of stealth to get this one. Used the puppy as cover.
This one had eluded us earlier in the day, as we couldn't find our way in, but this afternoon, after consulting a paper map we got here. The muggle teenagers on the oval left after a short while, so we made the find after a quick search. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here, a lovely looking complex.
Haapy new year don't forget to stop at grand hotel for a feed and nice cold beer ..
#2716 - Found quickly by B on a sunny morning. The oval was started to be used by a group from the nearby school so had to be prompt.
All part of the fun and challenges on our AroundOz bicycle adventure via
the highest peak in each state and territory while finding geocaches along the way..
See http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/15119
Many thanks to the cache owner farmer--brown for establishing and maintaining another of many caches in this region.

Looks like the muggles found it, they wrote their full name on it and put it back, still in tact, good hide
Quick find once we had identified the entrance to the oval, then a very easy find
Our car GPS took us everywhere but the right way.
We finally found the entrance and made our way to
GZ. A nice quick find.
Thanks farmer--brown
Little Squirell

Arrived early from Hillston, and went off caching for me and Munzeeing for hubby. He had to go to the PO so wondered across and looked for the Drummond Park cache. Walked to this cache and located it fairly easily. Lots of bindi plant in this town. TFTC
I rode into Ward Oval on the pushbike today.
The oval was a hive of activity
Not because of something as lame as cricket or footy.
Today was finals day of the Cobar Sheepdog Trial event !!
Sadly this event did not attract a lot of spectators
Nothing like the English sheepdog trials which are televised live in the UK, and often shown on TV in Oz a few months later
We cross live now, back to the cache chase [:o)]
Ah yes !! Down the back of the oval, I cycled into GZ.
Muggle campers near the horse stalls were not paying me any attention
Thus the cache was rounded up quicker than you can say "Gitta Round Back Dog !!" [^]

Found by Sunshine Toledo and Her Majesty at 10:25am. The cache was found quickly.TFTC
GPS took us to a dead end road beside the school but accessing the cache from here was not an option. Made our own way to GZ and parked within 10 metres. A quick find was then made in the obvious spot. Thanks.
Quick grab before the dog walker came into view...and a 4WD with a lovely couple heading where I just was. Who knows... TFTC
There were a couple of muggle with there dogs but as soon as they passed we found the cache. Easy find.
Came into town from Cliffhanger Navrun to repair blown tyre. Thanks Farmer Brown for the entertainment whilst in town
While staying in Cobar for Easter we are attempting to find some of the local caches.
Another easy find. Many thanks for the hide farmer-brown[^]

We have a few days to spend traveling from Bendigo to Stanthorpe for the Mega and we are going via Griffith, Cobar, Lightening Ridge and Moree.
Today we had some time to visit a few of the local highlights with very mixed success. What a lovely green oasis.

4015. Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1245. This facility is a credit to the town, a little piece of green in the dry surrounds. SL Tnx farmer--brown
Tftc! My first trip to Cobar, had some help from a former local who brought me here to show me where he grew up after much pestering from me ☺
9:56:00 AM. After 2 days camped at the local water sports park it was time to continue west. Grabbed this before leaving town and watched a bloke test fly his new model plane. Signed log. Thanks for all the caches. Certainly makes it worth while stopping. Thanks for placing this cache.

Long drive from Peterborough, running for home. Went for a walk and had some fun.
Found at 4:04 PM GAFF1. We were followed by a ute when we drove into the oval. They stopped at a distance and just observed us before moving on. We then sprang out of the car and quickly signed hte log and moved on. Wonder if this is a designated pick-up spot
Thanks farmer--brown.
Thanks farmer--brown.
Nice easy find, thanks for the fun, nicer weather than yesterday for this sort of thing
You have to appreciate these drive up caches. Bit of trimming work going on nearby.
Scared off a rabbit while retrieving this cache but no-one else was around.

Bet the school makes good use of this wonderful sports ground. With so many sports and events that can happen here it was surprising we were alone today. TFTC farmer--brown.
Todays drive was around the country side of Cobar. A very interesting town of history & mining .
We started along the AT Series, the co-ords were accurate making them easy to find.
A couple of containers had been damaged I presume by foxes, which we replaced. I noticed spor covering a couple of caches.
The caches we found were interesting & varied.

Thanks fo much Farmer Brown for being such a prolific cache-placer. We've been enjoying your caches for a few hundred kilometers now so it's about time we said "Thanks".
Found on the way home after attending the Oz Mega Event in Murray Bridge. South Australia. Decided o head home through Broken Hill for some sightseeing and caching. Great cache. TFTC
Whilst spending a late afternoon in Cobar with Mrs one-eyed , our Garmin Montana 650t had us going all over this area of Cobar, which initially ended up driving through the local school car park to their garden section.
Then after some re- adjusting the Garmin found the correct way to the location.
On departing the cache, we spotted a little tacker on his bike giving us a good look over, but he took off in the other direction.
