She had a stumped for awhile and we looked around and spread our search wider. It wouldve been obvious where it couldve been and soon had the cash in hand.
Cant drive up here now, but the views were worth the walk. Walked off the lovely picnic we had at the dam. TFTC
Well my trip up to QOGM started a couple of weeks ago and I took the very indirect route up to outback QLD to get there. So after cruising up the Hume to Sydney then the M1 and A1 up to Byron Bay with a few other roads in between as I have been cris crossing a bit so after heading west and making it to Longreach time for a break from the travelling. So after a couple big days out to Stonehenge, Isisford and Ilfracombe, The Tritonz and Roaming Howie finally joined me and we did the puzzle trail. Then a fun first muster day to Muttaburra and back then a great tea event and a few more caches.A trip to Stonehenge and back again for them. The second muster day and boy what a busy day as there was a lot going on in the car with everything we had to do.Collect trads, look at photos, find some forks and then some property numbers as well. The Mexicans as we were called teamed up with a couple of other cars The Morris and Pool Pool to have a lot of fun over the radio.Well all the caches have been found and after another great dinner event QOGM has officially finished. This was my first QOGM and I had a great time, but all good things must come to end and today I must start heading towards home but Im also taking the very long way around back to Victoria. So this was state # 4 for me on this trip.Roaming Howie is joined me on part of the Strzelecki track and left me at Camerons Corner.I continued on down the track and got to Lyndhurst then Copley where I had a great night in the pub.Driving to hear you realise who low you are when you look up and see the railway bridge towering over you.Stopped at the creek and checked out the track up and it looked ok so up went the Geocruiser A great view from up at the top and I soon found the cache at the other tree. Thanks kazatt
Working our way home from a tour at Maralinga with a group of cachers, mainly from South Australia. Now there is only Geoturtle37, Team Crackers, Micaparamedic and myself. We are having a great time, visiting new, remote locations and finding caches as we go.One of us had already done this cache so he waited at the bottom whilst the rest of us took the easy way . . . . drove. GT was a little apprehensive but we made it in the end. The views were stunning and we even remembered to get the cache. Thanks for placing this cache and bringing us here.
Team Crackers, Micaparamedic, Papi4506 and I are heading back to Melbourne slowly. We are enjoying going to new places (for us anyway) and finding some caches as we go.This was an interesting trip to GZ. We decided to drive up but I can't say that I enjoyed it until I got there. We headed towards GZ, well where we thought it was anyway. It wasn't until we took notice of our machines that we made a quick find. What awesome views of the countryside.Great place for a cache, thank you.
Unfortunately half of the team needed to stay behind to look after sick friends in Western Australia and the other half needed to head home for a doctors appointment. I joined forces with Papi4506, Geoturle37 and micaparamedic at Maralinga and we have travelling home via the Anne Beadell Highway and Oodnadatta Track picking up whatever caches we came across.
micaparamedic had already done this one so he stayed at the bottom while we headed up the easy way by driving. My BT50 did not have the clearance of the 80 series and did scrape once or twice but nothing serious. Once at the top we understood the cache name as the views were fantastic. After taking a couple of pictures we followerd te GPSr needle to GZ and happily the cache turned into a nice quick find and we have added our names to the logbook before heading back down to the main road
Many thanks kazatt for a cache with great views.

Find #2537 at 12:44. Located 20m S/W of GZ for us. Grabbed while travelling with SeasonedBird, Liz & Bruce from QOGM 21 at Cunnamulla, Qld to the Geo Venture 2020 at Millicent, SA. TFTC kazatt
Day three of our trek south to Millicent Mega with Wollaston and Liz & Bruce.
The day started with the final WP of earth cache Gibber - The Plain Story. It’s overcast and spitting, all our fingers are crossed it doesn’t rain while we are on the track. Trad What Keeps the Dogs out was ticked, as was An Extra Naughty Cache, the landscape here is parched and rocky, the track has some short paved sections some with sharp drop edges to watch out for and the corrugations are ever present.
Next caches converted to a smile was trad Suspicious Pile of Rocks and last cache on the Strzeleki Track, Strzeleki Stomp. The road is still unmade sections with corrugations but more paved sections have been completed and other parts under construction. The area is still crispy dry with minimal vegetation and becoming hillier. Only one kangaroo spotted, quite a few that didn’t make it across the road and one tiny bird, tough, isolate, desperately harsh and desolate conditions.
Turning onto the Outback Highway north from Lyndhurst to earth cache Ochre Mine, back to Lyndhurst for a splash of fuel. The highway is alongside the disused coal train tracks and to the east is the impressive Flinders Ranges. Our next trads we’re Tracks to Everywhere, Mine Managers Hut and Telford Cut. All located in good condition, logs signed and returned as found. Still very limited wildlife, but kangaroo is on the menu at the Copley Caravan Park Bakery, so we enjoyed a Roo pie and bush food dessert Quandong Cheesecake all while watching a dust storm whip past the cafe windows.
Our afternoon caches included an invigorating hike to trad Aroona View, and curiously named Watch Out For Roos, next we drove through a dust storm in the rain! Parachilna delivered a trad Home On The Range and earth cache Parachilna Shadows complete with TWO juvenile black banded brown snakes, not hanging around long enough to see any more. Next were trads Road Kill Grill, Pioneers Three, Merna Mora and Phone Home where it was so windy we nearly got blown home. Smileys at trad The Plug, Why Wallerberdina, Toot Toot Hill, into Hawker for a refuel and a tick for trad Boneys Breaking In Horses. Last stop for the day is Cradock.

Meandered out to gz to find the cache in good condition
Travelling with Wollaston and Seasoned Bird. Left Cunnamulla 3 days ago down the Strzelecki heading to Millicent. Thanks for arranging at this interesting location. Nearly got bogged with the caravan on the loose gravel going in.

Found on yet another trip without crossing borders. Like many others overseas trips are on hold. Even interstate is hard to plan. So we are taking the time to explore and re-explore our home state of South Australia.
This trip is take 2 as our first attempt was clobbered 2 days in by a sudden lockdown meaning we had to turn back home again. Two weeks later and the geohounds are back at puppy holiday camp. Our plan is Hummocks Station, Willow Waters Gorge (brilliant!), Farina, and then the Oodnadatta Track to Algebuckina Bridge, then through to Eringa Waterhole and then on to Mt Dare. After that the likely path (assuming the NT border is open) is via Finke to Lambert’s Centre of Australia and then we turned back south. We also took a side trip to see Lake Caddibarrawirracanna. We hope to find a few caches along the way and maybe hide a few as well. We are certainly having fun so far.
It is time to go back and actually log on line those caches for which we have only submitted draft logs. As our drafts have hit well over 200 we need to work through them.
While we may no longer remember the specifics of each event we are pretty sure we met and spoke with the usual subjects, and drank coffee, and chatted about geocaching and other stuff. We also quite possibly shared some hints about one or more of our own puzzles as we do get asked about these from time to time
As far as physical caches are concerned we remember all the puzzles, although some are harder than others [;] and mostly the hides.
As far as trads and multis are concerned we most often pick these up while traveling or at least while we are out and about for other reasons. Nearly always a bit of fun and good to break up a long trip.

I decided to take a break from cold Adelaide and head north to warmer climes for a month or so. The (loose) plan is to travel up to Innamincka then into western and central Queensland camping along the way. Where I go and how far north I get will depend on how distracted I get along the way and how hot it gets.
After camping out near Leigh Creek on my first night, i completed a couple of nearby caches before heading further north to Lyndhurst then up the Strzelecki Track towards Innamincka.
It was a bit of a late start as I wasn’t in any rush and I took my time, visiting the caches along the way.
This was my first cache for the morning. I currenly have a bad knee, so I took the lazy approach and drove to within a few metres of the cache.
Although the coordinates seemed to be a fair way out, the hide was quickly spotted. Great view from up there!
Thanks kazatt for the cache.

bit of a trek getting to the top with loose rocks but well worth it. almost couldnt find the cache as the app kept changing the distances not sure why but still there. brilliant view TFTC
Parked at the bottom and made the walk up there hill, cache was found 10m from GZ
Today was a massive day of driving with almost 600km of driving. We started off at parachilna and headed north to Marree. Unfortunately we got a flat tyre on the way out to a cache of Freddos but a local was nice enough to plug it for us. We later headed to lake eyre south along the Oodnadatta track before heading south to Roxby downs, unfortunately a rock was flung up by an oncoming car and shattered the rear window of the car. At the end of the day we decided to pull in at woomera for the night.

Found while we toured a circuit of the Flinders Ranges, Marree, Roxby Downs, Woomera and Port Augusta for the week, mostly touring the backroads and visiting many scenic and interesting locations. Great to have the chance to clear up all the caches along the roadway that I've traveled a number of times before. Thanks for the cache kazatt!
First for the day and it's always good to start with a find .
Made the short drive up to GZ and parked within a few metres .
Coords were out a bit [B)], so have added our numbers - hopefully they'll help someone else .
TNLNSL.
Nice view - a bit of a Mad Max lookout point (although he might have had a bit of trouble getting through the creek ).
Thanks Kazatt.

Slowly making our way to Alice Springs, as travel can never be quick when you are geocaching, we stopped to find this one.
We are lucky in that we have high ground clearance 4x4’s, so we made short work of the cache!
Thanks for placing the cache kazatt.

We are on a camping/4wd trip from Adelaide, slowly caching our way to Alice Springs.
Thanks for placing this cache for us.
There are fantastic views here. Definitely 4wd only! GZ was not where we expected.

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
With 250 metres to go, we decided to leave the 4wd at the base and Mr D hiked up to the cache. Quick find, then back to me. Thanks kazatt for the location

Well someone had to walk up here.
The views were fantastic - so if you are reading this and wondering shall I or shant I, have a look at the pics here.
Found with H423L on an epic trip up to find Pluto (GCG32B) - the furthest known planet at the time of TeamAstro's solar system inception. There was dust, flies, more dust, no mud and a million stars at night. There were no tyre issues. The geocaching led us to spectacular spots that were out of the way - and a few spots that were popular as it was the school holidays. We cached a few caches with others and it was good to see our friends on the trail.
Thanks to kazatt and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

As I always say, when will someone think to put these views at the bottom of hills. Sensational views. TFTC
wow what a view, went up the hard way and spotted a tree a few meters away hiding the cache. enjoyed the walk and find. tftcsl.
Didn't find it. DEFINITELY a walk, worth it for the views. Turned over millions of rocks but called it a defeat (it was also starting to rain). Not sure if it is actually up there or not, needs to be checked.
We are heading back from camping trip north and stopped for a mountain goat clamber to this cache.
The cache is 16m from the posted coordinates according to our GPS.

The Big Western Australia trip in 2018. Day 42. After a quiet night in William Creek I continued South via Marree and Lyndhurst to just North of Hawker for a very cold night.
I was not going to do this as I did not feel like a walk, but on closer examination there seemed to be tracks up the hill, so off I went. I was fooled by the old co-ordinates, so thanks for the updates in logs.
Thanks.

it was still fairly early so it wasn't too hot to go for a walk up the hill.
We're glad we did, the views from up here are well worth it.

found with jacknor, on route to arkarlooa. quick find. gz has moved 17 meters by my gpz, just look for the logical spot.
Made the walk up the hill. Great views and well worth the climb. The cache location is about 16metres out. Go in a south westerly direction from gz and that is where we located it. TFTC
Nice walk up the hill, lucky it was cooler than the day before when it was 43C. A bit hard to drive up there. TFTC
Good hike up the hill and then Geowife found it relatively easily. Great view. TFTC.
Good walk, great view, cool day. The last person to sign the cache was a policeman on the 24th! Tftc

Found on Fatboys 4x4 Easter trip 2017 with caching friends; Redmond, Tweety2 & Martini989. TFTC
Found with Tweety2, Redmond & Bear&Bell on our final day of Easter tour. Road up to it has been cut off at the creek so it was a walk for us. Good views. Cache was not hidden at all, just laying on ground, we weren't sure where to return it to so left it as we found it. TFTC!
Quick and easy find.
Found on the way home from camping on the Birdsville Track for Easter.
Made this one a ride by, even though the creek below had recently flooded, washing away the track.

#1589 Ok so we negotiated the creek crossing although clearance was a slight issue then made it up 80% to the top, but the track was very rough and without great clearance wasn't gain to step on it. Reversed back a little, parked and walked the remainder. A good view towards Leigh Creek and a nice easy find, thanks for the mini adventure kazatt.
Great views! Thanks for bringing us to this spot. Gps was pointing all over the place near the top. TFTC
Found on our way home from Roxby! lol
Anyways we decided not to head across the creek and headed up and up, finding a piece if TK2's towbar on the creek embankment.
Great spot with plenty of virws, once we caught our breath...

Stayed the night at the dam down the road,I did this as a 4wd adventure and I think this is where I picked up a shard of rock that finally worked it's way through my tyre that eventually stopped us 30km from Birdsville.Great views, thanks for bringing us here, tftc
(Found 01/07/2015) This was our first cache on the way to Birdsville for the Big Red Bash. We walked to the top and well worth it; a stunning view and we saw what could now be one of the last trains into Leigh Creek TFTC
We found this cache on our Northern road trip, which was to celebrate my significant birthday. We saw some great places, met some wonderful people and slept through some 3 dog nights. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and finding caches made the trip more memorable – Thank you and ……Joy to the World!!
What an amazing view up here, well worth the bump ride. Thanks for bringing us here.
Drove my geo-vehicle to the top. As suggested, needed to use lowrange and the high clearance was just enough (probably should have put a few rocks into the creek crossing to make it easier). Very good views from the top. Left a geocoin. Also a fav point for the views. Thanks kazatt.

The SA_ParrotHead team are heading to Haddons Corner via the Strzelecki track the home via the Birdsville Track.
This is the last corner post I have to find and has been on my bucket list for a long time.
I went to Poeppel and Cameron Corners with Beakers Bunch & Mogni and Surveyor Generals with Nibs, Burtons and Young Einstein.
Mrs Parrot is coming with me this time to complete the set.
I love this dam and have visited many times.
LOved the walk up the hill and the great views from here.

First stop for me this morning was by the railway bridge over the creek
And from there it was a fun stroll up the rocky hill to reach GZ.
There are NO 4WD tracks up this hill !!
A nice easy find !!
Time to sit down for a minute and enjoy the scenery
Superb.
I saw a northbound train go past yesterday arvo, around 3'ish, from my campsite further south.
3 engines, 150 coal wagons, and a flat car (carrying something to do with the braking system) at the tail.
Oh how I would have loved to been up here mid afternoon to see the train winding its way through the gap in the hills and across the bridge.
It would be a very impressive sight as the one train a day is 2.4 kms long [:o]
From up here you would be able to see the entire thing snaking along.
The train heads back to the power station at night, around 8'ish.
So ... as there is no way they could load a train of that length in the short time frame, I decuce that they must have a second rake of wagons being loaded during the day, ready for the locos to drag back to Porter Guster at night

Walk up the hill from the main creek is the way to go. wind was blowing its ring out, rainbow in the distance. Worthwhile view.
A group of three vehicles with 1 geocacher and 6 muggles aboard set out to traverse the Simpson Desert from West to East. This adventure was accomplished over a two week period which commenced in Renmark, where we met on Saturday 28th June, and finished in Mildura two weeks later were we went our separate ways. The route took us up to Marree then along the Oodnadatta Track, an overnight stop was enjoyed at Hamilton Station campground before we turned toward Dalhousie Springs via Perdirka Ruins. Arriving at Dalhousie saw us setting up camp before a dip in the springs was enjoyed. Three days later saw us 'playing' on Big Red and finishing in Birdsville for a couple of days. Then it was down the Birdsville Track back to Marree and on to Mildura as mentioned. As the only geocacher in the group I took the opportunity when it presented itself to grab a few caches along the way. I found the caches to be interesting and enjoyable. Many thanks kazatt for placing the cache, allowing me to break up this 4500 km trek.
TFTC and thank you for the great location. Caches like this make it a worthwhile activity. We found this on our journey to the Pilbara region of WA. A nice stop along the way.
There were a couple of 4x4s playing on the track leading up the hill, and as we'd have to hike up there, we thought we'd leave this cache for a future visit.
We managed to drive almost to GZ, parking about 10 metres from the spot. Easy as find. I reckon the hole in the ground in the pics in the gallery are test drill holes, possibly testing the area of coal.
Cheers

Found this one whilst doing some cache maintenance of our own in this area. Great views after a bumpy drive up. Took some tbs for a visit. Picked up the locus pathtag.
Ps. the funny looking pipes are probably from exploration drilling as there is a small mine just down the road towards the dam.

I was headed up to Port Augusta for a kayak event but somehow afterwards I forgot to stop driving.
1,700kms later and after 83 smileys including 1 FTF were locus cache'd, 1 event attended and sadly 7 DNFs and a dead roo, I arrived back home with both the camera and the phone full of pictures of this amazing country in which we live .
Got close in Harry but Iwasn't doing THAT track on my own, so I walked the last 300ms odd.
Great views, easy find and then I saw this again on my way out.....what are they doing up here[?]

A very hot slog up the hill on 42 degree heat.
Still, a pleasant location and a good find. TFTC

Coming from William Creek and heading for the Flinders Ranges we stopped at this dam and searched for the cache. Found it after a walk over the "Rim" Stunning views from there. Favo for placing this cache here. TFTC.
Found this one with my parents (o'cholio) and friend AdrianMc. It was a very long walk for my little legs! TFTC.
A quick find with AdrianMc, but we were left wondering where the dam had got to...TFC.
2799 Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1630 on our drive from Marree to Leigh Creek. The track up is a little slippery with the rock on it. A great location. SL Tnx kazatt
Ftf yeah!!!! Grabbed the tb too. Definitely needed 4x4 but it would be worth a climb for that view. Amazing! Geo hubby loved the drive! Will put as a favourite. Tftc
