I'm sorry but this has gone on long enough without being a proper webcam as the listed location. It is a shame to see it go but grandfathered caches need to be maintained properly or they have to be archived.
Having just spent some time working out the practicalities of how to do this one, I see that the building it was on was demolished in May 2014! Great idea, is there another webcam it could be moved to?
This web cam cache either needs to be moved back to original location near the CBD, or removed as an active listing as it is no longer in place because of building works (and the building holding the camera is no longer there)
Have to admit i must have missed something here ... how does one end up with a "Beach" webcam photo for this cache? Would have loved to have got this webcam under the belt as they are so few and far between. Found the camera ... just no idea of how to access for images. Visiting from New Zealand on our way to Singapore.

After having been so inspired by the 7SOA for 2014 i started to look for 1 of every different type of cache there is. I was like OMG a webcam cache that's it I have to find it. Unfortuntaley it looks like the Webcam is down and will be for a while. Do we have any idea when this will all be back up and operastional? I have added this cache to my watch list as I would really like to add a smiley against this one. Cheers Ladyjet86
This area is under construction. On the official homepage you can read:
"Due to the redevelopment of the club the webcam will not be functional from May 2014.
Depending on temporary accommodation for the club the webcam may be unavailable until the new development is completed."
Maybe you have to deactivate this for a while.

Left the Mum home to study and of course be on the end of the computer to capture our adventure and set out to find this one.
Contact made once we had found the spot but had to stop the webcams capturer from 'checking out' all the lifesavers before we could get her to focus and take our picture but job well done. This was such fun. Thanks for organising this one.

Both wifey, our dog and I had a good morning doing this cache as it's different
We all got close as we can to the location as we can't go any further because of rules for dogs.
As such, I grabbed a screen shot from my mobile, hence why I'm busy looking at the phone TFTF

I had been keeping an eye on the camera for a week or so, since I found out a short notice work trip to the West sprung up. Numerous visits to the website produced no action on the camera page... Hmm, this is not good...
I touched base with the CO and asked that as a visitor to this fair land, if I could snap a pic in place at GZ, should the camera still be down when I am in town for a couple of days. With a nod given due to my limited chance to have a go, I nipped down to GZ, cranked up the laptop and found link still not providing any images...
The camera was in action and rotating nicely... But with no joy on the link, I executed an obligatory "selfie" overlooking the location, then moved on... [^]
This is a very popular spot and the breeze off the ocean was very pleasant on what turned out to be a rather warm afternoon...
Logged with CO's permission, thanks for the opportunity.
Cheers Team Canyonero.

When mum explained what kind of cache this was I was excited. After a long drive we got out and stood by the sign, then that was it. Haha of well it was fun anyway. Thanks for the cache!
I have been wanting to do this cache for a long time, and today was finally the day. We had a nice drive up here, all be it a long drive. Made our way over to GZ and posed for our happy snaps.
Thanks for the opportunity to do a webcam cache Team Canyonero.

A long way from home for us but a neat idea for a cache. The beach was very crowded but we were lucky to get a car park close by. TFTC Team Canyonero
Wow, Perth's first and only webcache. I was out caching with Jinta29 and we decided to do this one as we had been wanting to do it for awhile now. We found the spot and took our photo. I am in jinta29's photo as the one to the right of the sign. TFTC Team Canyonero and a Favourite from me! [^]
What is up with this one!?!
We were visiting from Japan and spent more than an hour working on this one only to figure out that it's not anywhere near the posted coords! How wrong is that!
We got close to GZ and then headed down the road to a coffee shop to try to find some wifi so we could take the screenshot. We had to get an overpriced coffee to get a password and started muddling through the various links and webcams.
How is it ok that the webcam is located so far from the posted coords!? It's not even stated clearly in the description! And there seems to be owner maintenance changing coords to the citybeach site, but I can't even find a waypoint for that.
Needless to say, we did NOT take turns hiking from City West to City Beach and back, so we did not get to claim this rare prize.
What an extremely disappointing waste of time, money, and effort.

Today, we set ourselves a challenge - to see how many 'types' of caches that we could find, in 1 day.
Geo-hubby volunteered to be the 10 second star, while geo-wife operated the lap top.
To our delight, everything worked and we got the image.
Thanks for something a bit different, Team Canyonero.

Out for a drive today and thiught we'd hit this one as it was beautiful beach weather.
It took a couple of attempts to capture the image but eventually got the job done.

This is great... I love it. I even phoned my mum in NZ and got her to log onto the website while I was there so she could see me.... she loved it too.
It was blowing a gale down at the beach today so not many people on the sand but plenty of kite surfers on the water.
A nice one to log as my 700th. Gets a favourite from me. TFTC

Tried this one at night for my 200th find. Wore the brightest fluro clothes possible and armed myself with UV torches and police style LED flashlight......but was an epic fail cos image was pitch black!
So here I am on a lovely sat morning just before tball is about to start across the road.
Very happy to get a smiley - wish there were more web cam geocaches. Thank you!

First web cache and a great find!!!
This was our 800th cache, I am standing on top of the sign.
We tried earlier but the webcache was in the sun, no image and the Wifi was down at the cafe, now we
came prepared with a smart phone.
Thanks alot for this great cache,

Getting everything logged from my recent trip to Western Australia. The first two weeks were slammed while I was on assignment but I managed to get out every day for a find or two. Got to visit some really remote places like Meekathara and Wiluna and got down to the beaches near Marybrooke and Naturaliste. For the few days I had to myself I hit the Wandoo, the Albany Hwy and the Southwest Hwy Series. So I covered a lot of ground and saw a lot of Western Australia. I had to get used to a lot of things, like driving on the left side of the road, give rather than yield, take away rather than take out and yes with a question mark is asking for conformation. Just goes to show we may speak the same language but words don't always mean the same thing. Sorry for the cut and paste nature of the logs but I have a lot to log and my sanity is important. Thanks to all the locals for the hospitality I was shown while there and thanks to the CO's for the hides, the fun and another smiley on the map. See you on the trail, and cache on!
Hi! That's me leaning on the sign, and yes I was smiling at the webcam! It was humid and still, the beach looked wonderful, almosr felt like racing home for the bathers! Thanks for a fun Webcache!
This cache was a challenge only because the requirement to be here in daylight was a problem for me, work, not vampire issues !.
After 3 attempts, one night attempt which only showed a white spot in the dark with my torchlight, i finaly got my first webcam cache during the morning of the 22/10. Having to avoid the lifeguards steely gaze just behind me i was forced to face the sea, as you can see.

Pulled up at the beach around 10.50 , light rain which stopped. Took the photo and was just checking it when the heavens opened ! Got a thorough soaking with geochild in the buggy wet as well. The sand stopped a speedy exit. Tftc another rare cache type done

Awesome finally got here. My previous visit to Perth earlier this year did not allow me enough time to get here. Well today with my caching mate Ahomburg the mission was completed. I'm the one on the right side of the photo. Very windy and before the photo was snapped there was an impressive rainbow seen directly off the beach. Don't often see rainbows these days, special....

Find # 3175
Streak: 45 days
Well, it has been a long time coming, but finally our visit from Melbourne to Western Australia has arrived. It was a plan My caching buddy SedgwickDave and I had put together to complete the Peter Pan Perth cache adventure. We had also invited my housemate Obi-Cal who is a part time cacher to come along for the ride. In the week leading up to it, the weather was looking terrible, but we would have to make the best of it. The first two days would be Obi-Cal and myself with Dave joining us late on Thursday Night.
Today was a day put aside to find some select caches. Rare DT Combos, Old caches and uncommon caches. This was the first cache of the day, the wind was starting to pick up, waves were smashing down on the beach. A great spot on a sunny day.
Thanks to Team Canyonero & Team Piggy for the webcam.

Have tried to get this one before but the camera was offline.
Were making our way back from Cottesloe and was aware of the new location so jumped at my chance to get it.
Positioned myself and watched as I came in to shot then made a screen grab.
Im on the right and Machman to the left.
Thanks for the Webcache Team Canyonero, its my first.

Geocache #440. Found on Friday, 20th July 2013 at 11:03 AM.
My 339th find for The Great Scouts Australia Geocaching Competition 2013. I was excited to attempt my first ever Webcam cache and decided to leave it for he weekend so I could do it during the day. The surf cam at City Beach is not connected at the moment, probably because it is winter and too cold for the sand and surf (the last image was taken at the beginning of May). So I went down to the intersection of Barrack Street and Riverside Drive, which is the other webcam location referenced in the cache's description. I arrived at GZ around 10:40 AM to catch the next image capture at 10:46 AM (image is refreshed approximately every 15 minutes). I waited and waited... but no image! I was still standing in position when the next cycle rolled around at 11:01 AM... and this time success! Favourite point awarded for a rare Webcam geocaching experience, TFTC Team Canyonero!

This is a common log of all my findings of geocaches in the Perth area during my stay, weekend 6th and 7th. April. 2013. At the bottom of the log, you will find more information specific to this particular cache.
Got to know a week ago that I was going to perform a mission on a ship bound for Broome, Australia. (This is my first trip to Australia.) Admission ship outside Bali on Tuesday afternoon, and arrived in Broome on Friday morning. In order to return to Europe again, I had to fly to Perth on Friday night. Since it was the weekend, I took as well a couple of days off here in Perth to find some caches. Had send a message to "duncdonut73" a few days before arrival to get some guidance since I unfamiliar with all the "dangerous creatures" here in Australia. Not enough that he responded to my inquiry, he posed as well by showing me a lot of nice caches. Thank you duncdonut73 who had time for this.
Quick and easy cache. Nice location.
Thanks for this nice cache.

Came to finally cross this one off my to-do list. I looked fairly crazy turning up to the beach in jeans and closed in shoes, but they were necessary for caching in scrub later in the day. I too prefer the City beach location to the traffic cams TFTC here's to doing some more!
After some conversing on my phone with a friend to try to sort out how to capture the picture, I think I eventually got this sorted. I'll upload photo tonight when I get home. I did attend the event last night but the camera was only showing blackness since the sun was setting. Thanks for the cache; Perth's First (and only!) Webacache. I really like the new location and hope that this cache stays at City Beach. Although I didn't capture a sunset photo, some of the recent uploads are spectacular and this is certainly an area I'd encourage caching tourists to visit.
P.S. - I can verify Geology Boy's find since I saw him taking the picture in the dark after the event.

A fun one after the Event and my second Webcache!
Turned up a little late for the nearby event, but wanted to show my non-caching friend the idea behind this type of cache (he witnessed three types today)!
Don't know if my photo will be permitted, but I will submit it after my camping trip ends in a few days...!
I will certainly try to come here again, so will log again when I do so!

Just modifying the coords to the beach location. Seems to be easier than the traffic cams.
TFTC this was on my todo list whilst on holidays, so made the drive out today to take the picture with geowife. Wouldn't like to be swimming out there today. Cheers BarnZy12
What a spectacular beach! Despite the wind whipping my hair around so much I looked like Cousin It, I loved my little stroll along this gorgeous beach, and it didn't take The Marble and I too long to find a suitable spot for the webcam picture. I thought it was funny watching myself move across the beach in 10 second intervals as the webcam refreshed. Always a pleasure to get an unusual icon, so extra special TFTC, Team Canyonero! =^.^=
How stunning. The beach, not the picture on webcam. Would love to live near here and visit it often. La Kedi took the photo on her iphone so check her log. TFTC
Yessss!!!! Finally found it! I have been trying to get this done for ages (since I noticed it was back on with new location) but... First I turned up with the dog on a busy day and.... dogs are forbidden on the beach. Then I did not have the car. Then it rained. Then it was dark.... Anyway, today was D Day. Crapy weather: hardly any one on the beach, dog stayed in the car, and hop la: photo! Iphone screen shot and off I went!
Thanks for keeping this one alive, probably my only chance at getting a webcache ever! TFTW

This was a must do on our trip to Perth from New Zealand (to welcome our first grandchild) . Tried the other day just with Stretch0's phone but it didnt want to play ball but with phone and computer with us today it was nice to accomplish this cache - thanks for our 2nd webcam cache Great place and great webcam cache
This one turned out more intricate than we thought it would be!!. Tried to do it first time on the phone but the images all disspaeared to ????. So back today armed with laptop arrived on site to find we had left wiifii unit back where we were staying so we reverted to trying the phone again. No luck this time either GRRRRRR!!! Now it looked like a trip back to get thie wiifii unit but just before we departed i had an Ah ha moment and whilst exploring the phone i had bought last week i remembered seeing i could tether a laptop. More exploring and the it was all set up . Each of us made the dash down onto the beach to have out pic (several) taken and checked and it was all good. Hooray finally done. Was glad to manage to grab these rare items while we can and even more so when it was the cities first . Thanks for placing and keeping it running hope u manage to keep it up for a long time
This cache was the reason I brought my bicycle over from Ballarat on the plane.
With some effort and planning it all came together. Pulled out the laptop and BAM - my first Webcache in beautiful Perth.

Having kept a close eye on this one since moving to Perth we made the trip to beautiful City Beach to watch an amazing sunset. As the sun was darkening the image we waited until the sun had sunk below the horizon before taking our snap. We also took another snap with the geodaughter. Many thanks goes to CDM261 for capturing the image for us. Thanks for our first ever webcache!
We use the webcam and it is a nice view there so better stick to this one.

Hi All.
Due to the unreliability of the WA Roads traffic cams I have changed to another camera at City Beach.
You may need to walk on the beach to get the photo. If you are at the furthest point in the frame (ie. the breakwater or on the sand at the waterline), hold a "Y" pose so I know its a cacher.
Once the traffic cams come back online, I will consider relocating, unless of course this new location proves more popular/easy.
Please let me know if there are any issues with the new coordinates etc.
Cheers and happy hunting....

This one looks more promising than the WA Roads website. If the traffic cams come back on line, I'll swap the cache back.

Not quite sure which camera to use but either way both 'Barrack St/Riverside Drive int' and 'Wellington St & Sutherland St' are offline. Sad to miss my first chance at a web cache.
Might need to update the co-ordinates as they appear to be for the wrong camera.
And now the waiting game for it to come online........
And now the waiting game for it to come online........
You need to use the "Barrack St/Riverside Drive int" camera to successfully log this cache.
I used to allow any camera but was told by the reviewers that I shouldn't, so this one is the only one you can use.
Its also part of the "difficulty" as the cameras are hit and miss.

Are we ment to use the wellington/sutherland st cam now that is been changed because it is currently offline too. May need to check during more conventional hours.
Ably assisted by "Computer Grand Puppet Master" at home, we managed to coordinate ourselves with the camera and have the image captured. Many strange looks from cyclist wondering "What on earth is that arrow for??" We have enjoyed the experience especially as it was our 1100th cache. TFTC Team Canyonero
Had two week-long trips to Perth this month and I checked again and again but the camera never seemed to be on. Oh well.
The describe cam does not seem to have been working for almost a week (The co-ords for the cam and stand point need updating in the front page).
Got to the Cam but it was not working so took a picture of it instead. Then dialed up the network the Cam is on and moved round to the Narrows to snap myself on the Cam and managed to get a few more cache on the walk round as a bonus.
Managed to dial up and save the web cam image on my phone but also rang the geo kids to make sure they snapped it on the PC

Night trip with greenmount Andy and la Cherie - managed to use iPad insitu (eventually) and fortunately la Cherie then knew how to save the photo!
I couldn't resist this one while I am over in Aus on holiday. Problem was there is 7 hours different between the UK and here! Somewhat difficult to get geo-son out of bed at unsociable hours UK time or me out of bed this end at odd hours. Eventually persuaded (non-geo)daughter to capture the screen for me!!
Thanks for the opportunity for this type of cache and making it my 50th find

After wandering through the city for a few hours doing a bit of shopping and caching. Phoned a friend (Sqwash) to help out with the capturing of the photo. TFTC
When I saw that there was a webcam cache within walking distance from my hotel I knew I had to try to get to it. So I wandered down here this morning, collected a couple of other caches along the way and waited..... The picture is pretty fuzzy as I used the browser on my wee blackberry pearl which is not that great but its definitely me. I have my GPS in my left hand and phone in my right hand. Thanks for a neat webcam opportunity. TFTC, Biggles.
Decided to cross this cache off our list while in the City for the open day at the Supreme Court and Government House. We chose to sit with the laptop instead of downloading the picture from home

I am over here from Sydney for work but just could not go past having a crack at this webcam cache as they are few and far between.
This cache cost me big time however, the listed coords have never been updated despite the description sending you to a different location. I therefore followed my GPS to the old location (silly me), parked between some other parked cars and briskly went to what I believed was GZ, I could not have been there more than 10 minutes, by the time my Wife back in Sydney and I worked out that we've been on a wild goose chase I returned to my car to find a rather large parking ticket under the windscreen wiper...hmmm wouldn't have happened if I had not been sent here in the first place! (Mind you I didn't look at the parking limits very well either)
All's well that ends well, I found my way to the right intersection and we soon had a printscreen of myself at GZ. I won't call it a find until I'm home and can download the picky onto the website. Thanks for the Webcam cache but not for the parking ticket....I can think of 120 reasons why these coords need to be updated!!!!

Ok, I'll yield... coordinates for the working traffic cam are now in the cache listing.
I've also posted where you can stand to be in frame. It doesn't seem to have moved position in a really long time, so if it changes let me know.

My first webcache! A quick stop off for an internet photo after lunch in the city with Coder928. Snapshot was taken from my phone and emailed to both Coder and myself. These smart phones are amazing! The camera near Harbor Town was offline so we walked to the Bell Tower for our photo. You can see Coder and myself near the statue on the left hand side of the photo, I'm the one looking particularly awesome with my hands on my hips. Thanks for a fun and novel cache Team Canyonero! ^_^

We finally managed to find the right place and webcam. We are the two people standing at the streetlight.
Thanks for this cache.

Dad dragon was in town for a conference, so he managed to snag one cache while in town. It was a bit tricky to coordinate, but we managed. Thanks for the adventure.
My first ever webcam cache!
This one has been on my watchlist for such a long time. Back when it was over near Harbour Town, and the camera was always offline, I used to check the camera every day to see if it was available. Since it has moved over here, I just hadn't got around to stopping and waiting.
This morning was actually a great time, as it was Prosh, and there was loads of oddly-dressed uni students running around selling newspapers to the drivers, so a person with a bike standing on the side of the road didn't attract much attention.

Was out caching in the city with my brother when he told me about this webcache. I stood at the corner for about 10 minutes before he managed to capture the photo of the two of us talking. TFTC!
Attended this one during a late lunch break whilst in Perth for a business meeting.
Found coordinates were taking me to an interstection elsewhere but the description let me know where the correct location was.

Reperio at 1720. Well this one proved a little harder to complete than anticipated. Tried completing this one a few days ago, but found that the mentioned webcam was not online then. Kept looking up each day until finally today the webcam was online. Went to the above coords, and looked up the designated webcam on the corner of where I was standing, and found it was the wrong screen shot. Reread the cache page and soon realised the BIG problem. It seems the coords are not for the instructed webcam. Looked up the map of the area and found the right spot, and after another 10 minutes standing out in the heat, the web shot was taken....Will upload the photo as soon as I get back from holidays and move house.
Gratias.

Haha that was fun standing there for what seemed like forever!! Lol but finally we were in the shot. Gotta love my iPhone

Please fix the description of this and put the updated coordinates in. 1700m is a little much. Thanks.
You had to be there. I was in Perth for a couple of weeks so you tend to gravitate to these spots. And a Canyonero and Piggy cache. Woo hoo. Hi guys. You should be over here on the beach. Some great kite surfing chicks. Clear skies.
Almost had a team in view, but donut#2 had to rush off to ring the bells. Had to wait a while, but finally got a pic leaning against the pole near the bell tower. My first web cam cache too, as I didn't get around to doing the Adelaide ones a couple of months ago. TFTC!
That was a bit weird. The coordinates were quite some bit away but everyone else used the cam here by the belltower.
So did I then. Great day..what a bummer that this webcam broadcasts only pictures in s/w.
Cheers from Germany

I could not find the corrected coordinates but recognized the area on the photo so I went with my web-enabled laptop and took a picture of myself in the median divider. TFTC from California
This is our 4424th overall find.
Found at about 10:06 AM. I managed to get the right cam and sat around waiting while FarmerFrentzen did the duties back in NSW. Got a picture, that's me in the red and white stripes.
Thanks to Team Canyonero for the cache.
Photo will be uploaded once we get home

I have waited quite a while to do this cache. When my husband informed me they were to start doing construction around the area I jumped to log it as who knows when the construction will be finished!
I am in the picture but as you can see I am looking away. It must have refreshed just as I got there because even though I sat there for 10 minutes until my husband told me he saved the image he didn't tell me it was of my behind until we were halfway through lunch. By then, it was too late to do another.
Beautiful day in Perth, though quite windy!
