Stopped by on the drive south this afternoon, as others have said, looks like this cache, along with quite a few trees, is gone burger
The area has been cleared of trees, I think I found what was left of the twins and had a good look around there just incase the cache was still there. Photo attached
Stopped here today on the way back home after finishing my deployment with work to Lake Ohau and Twizel following the devastating fires here. Sadly, a DNF as the area has been completely cleared of trees by felling and a bulldozer. This one may need a maintenance run drawp. Thanks anyway.
Quick find. There was a speed camera in a van just 100 yards up the road. Good spot for it. TFTC drawp.
Second full day of a 10 day road trip for RG1972 and I to get to Te Anau, attempt a half marathon, and get safely back to Nelson/Marlborough. Today was Chch to Wanaka, so we hand picked a few park and grabs in between food and shopping stops. 20 plus for the day and all in good shape. Thanks all COs and sorry for the cut and paste bit.

Quick find, yes there was a fair bit of litter but probably less because of the covid lockdown, tftc
We had a very nice holiday in New Zealand. Almost every day beautiful weather. We traveled with the camper home from the north to the south island. we have found a lot of very nice caches. Thanks for showing the nice places where we found the caches.

Together with TEMBO! I had a really interesting geocaching-trip today. We could find some geocaches, met some locals and had a great talk to them.
Concerning this geocache I want to say thanks because we had much fun in searching and finding this geocache! The cache made our trip even more interesting!

An easy find with a good hint. As we drove in it was like being in the eye of the storm as it was completely calm while all around us was howling wind. Sadly the cache was right beside a human toilet carefully covered.
We are gradually picking off all the caches along here, and as traffic was not too bad today we stopped for this one. All in good condition. Thanks for placing.
Our geotwins had to find this one, just based on the name. Now time for a cup of tea
Stopped at this lovely looking rest area. Very disgusted with humans using this lovely countryside as a toilet. This sort of thing rattles my cage! Please use a proper toilet!!!

A sad commentary indeed!! We moved gingerly through the paper until we found the cache all warm and dry. A great spot in danger of becoming one great big Loo!!! Thanks.
We are on vacation in New Zealand and of course we seek some caches.
Thanks for this one!

We are on our summer holiday driving around the South Island with no real idea of where we will end up each day. We are often drawn to an area that has the potential to give us a few geocaching smilies and somewhere we have not spent time exploring before. In some cases we are revisiting placed that we have been before but liked so much we are going there again.
It was disgusting the amount of human rubbish around this area. But a bit further away there were the cutest little pinecones.
The cache was a quick find, signed the log and returned it as we found it.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

A nice shaded picnic spot to break our journey on another transfer day. We made our way to the cache walking on a bed of pine cones. All is well here.
As the CO mentioned, it is very sad to see so much litter, especially as there are rubbish bins provided here.

22013 Traveling through New Zealand to see nice people and places. Also to find some geocaches.
Today we went from Mount Cook to Dunedin. First, because it was sunny now, we visted the surrounding of mount Cook and the Tasman glacier. Then we drove alone and there were many caches along the road like the mighty oaks taril and many others, but a lot of them were on spots where I did not like to park a car. It were also to many to do them all, so we randomly stopped where it was safe and went for a search.
In Dunedin there are several Y2000 caches, and these we like specialy to visit. The Jasmer challenge is still not full..

Today we are travelling from Oamarama to Aroaki. The weather is cloudy, we decided to look for geocaches along our way. Also, since our little boy is learning to count and write numbers, we decided to set the objective of 12 cache for today. At each cache found, he has to write the number several times, fun and learn... This is 2/12.
Found by little one, the twins are nice and numerous here... Lots of trash on this side of the track. It's a pity with all the trash cans that are close to here.

Found with nissan 65. Flew in from sydney for a short holiday. Hoping to see as much as i can on the south island and pick up caches along the way . Thanku for the cache.
Quick stop and grab. This area needs a serious clean up and it’s a shame people appear to use it as an overnighting freedom camp space and toilet. Tftc
Time to get out for a days caching and tidy up some ones we've missed or are new. Lovely fine winter day, GPS and phone at the ready. TFTC
First visit to New Zealand, and what a way to see this beautiful country - a lap of the South Island by motorhome! We started in Christchurch and then drove through the hills of the Southern Alps to the west coast, explored the glaciers and Milford Sound area, and have now started heading back to our start point via Queenstown. From snowcapped mountains to the rolling green hills of Otago.
A quick walk across the road to GZ. Good hint and cache name meant a quick find too. Just can't get enough of how beautiful NZ is.
Thanks drawp.

Needed a wee rest on a South Island tour after a West Coast wedding. Pulled in, and thought I could check for a cache... quick and easy find TFTC with cab165
Had a quick stop for lunch ...and how lucky is that ...a cache close as nice and easy thanks dwarp
Very busy spot even at 2pm!! And yes lots of litter and toilet paper. Nice clean cache nicely tucked away. Thanks for the cache drawp.
Out caching with Aussie Pete for the afternoon. Thanks for the owners for placing these caches
Heading Christchurch after overnight in in Omarama.
After a could not attempt at the cemetery, my heart sank when a camper van pulled in just before me. But they headed to the gravelled end and I parked up just inside the entrance. Checked why my new Bluetooth wasn't doing its thing (duh, push play! It'd paused the music) then checked which end. In luck. Quick find as it was a little out in the open. Tucked well where hint indicates.
Yes, a place for some CITO - armed with gloves which I don't have with me.
Thanks for the smilie drawp.

The good hint led to a quick find. There is a carpet of pine cones on the ground. They appear to have all fallen now for this year, but I wouldn't want to be here when they are falling. TFTC drawp.
last full day before flying home, we have managed over 2000kms and not quite 500 caches but a great week away, thanks to all the COs who have placed these caches and taken the time to look after them.
The (major road trip was about to begin) that was for the Oamaru Geofest trip in the company of HKCB and iammrwalker for a bit of a road trip across to the west coast, through Haast and in a roundabout way to Oamaru.
My trip stats were as follows: 617 caches (214 Puzzles), 3300kms, 500 litres of Petrol, 21 hours sleep, 100+hours caching time. THe weather was wonderful and apart from about a 6hour period on the sunday we had fine weather all the way and feel that we made a bit of a hole in the region.
Firstly thanks to all the CO's that put in the effort to to set up these caches and to all the CO's whose caches we did not find this trip, well we are already planning our next trip.
We worked hard at getting specific caches (especially the Geo Art around christchurch and hence our concentration on this area for the preliminary 24 hours. So after a couple of running repairs to the rental vehicle (fuses not working) we were off knowing that all ports could be charged and that sleep was for the weak.
Sorry about the copy and paste logs but that is what tends to happen with a number run of this size.
Having just visited the Clay Cliffs (a real highlight) we continued on the way to Mt Cook

I found this Geocache on a Geocaching mega mission along with Cats&Dragons and HKCB. With only just over three and half thousand Geocache finds I was very much the over achiever in training. We were in the South Island to support the Oamaru Geofest event, hunt down some Jasmar and D/T harder to find Geocaches, lonely caches (those not found in more than 6 months), virtuals and try and meet some milestone numbers. We signed the logs HIC, an abbreviation of our respective Geocaching names, (H)KCB, (I)ammrwalker and (C)ats&dragons. A huge thanks to all the CO’s who placed and maintain the Geocaches we found.
I arrived in Christchurch late Thursday evening having left straight from work and was picked up by my intrepid companions in our four wheel drive rental to find they had already grabbed about 270 finds in the previous twenty four hours. I wonder if the rental company would have still let us have it had they known we would travel 3300km in it before returning it four days later? Our trip took us to Greymouth via Arthurs pass, Ngahere, down the west coast to Haast across to Hawea, Cromwell, Twizel, Aoraki Mt Cook, Tekapo, onto the east coast up to Oamaru and back up to Christchurch via Akaroa and countless diversions and small towns along the way. We slept in the car for the first two nights, grabbing some shut eye between cache finds, taking turns to drive. We rented a small place in Oamaru for the other two nights and appreciated a bed to sleep in and a hot shower. It was an amazing trip, in which I discovered the South Island has some of the most incredible scenery in the world.
No problems finding this one on our way to Mt Cook.

Came down this way from the North for the Oamaru Geofest, and decided to add a few more days to the weekend trip and turn it into a bit of a Mega mission, starting 5pm on Wednesday 18th and finishing 3pm Monday 23rd! Teaming up with Cats&Dragons for the first 24 hours then with Iammrwalker joining the team for the remainder.
Just a few of the stats for the trip were:
- 700 caches found, including 270+ puzzles (thanks to the Christchurch Geoart)
- 3300 km's driven, using over 500L of fuel $$$
- Just over 20 hours of sleep (about 4 per day on average), and about 100 hours of caching time.
Certainly a Mega Trip!
Day 3: With time now a bit against us for what we originally had planned for the West Coast a decision was made to catch up a bit of time and bee line it down the coast from Greymouth to Jackson's Bay. This meant a 6 1/2 drive through the night as we rotated drivers every hour or so while the other two got some sleep. This plan worked great as it set us up for another great day of caching. Today's mission involved caching from Jackson's Bay through to Cromwell and then up to Aoraki (Mt Cook). Today also made us appreciate the stunning beauty of the South Island.
Made a quick find here thanks for the placement.
Sorry about the cut and past logs, but that seems to happen with cache runs of this size!

Another leg stretch and quick find on a bright sunny Spring day in Central Otago. Love the placement of some of these caches today thanks to all the CO's and to you drawp for your contribution.
I thought I had saved all the roadside caches for my trip to my GPS but something went wrong so I'm just picking up a few simple ones on my phone. Thanks.
Another quick find, also just watching a recovery of a campervan that has crashed earlier today on the other side of the road. Roads slippery yet people still drive to fast.
