I drove past this today and noticed the structure has been removed. This spot is getting turned into a road.

Gone. The sign has made way for progress.

17-Sep-20
I parked in the nearby culdesac, and walked up the river bed. There are 300000 pigeons roosting under the bridge. Just when you think they’ve all gone, another one flies out at you.

Cache is all good, thank you Freddo.

To get the cache off.

Parked on this very busy road and walked about 100m to this great sign. It didn't take a lot of investigation to locate the investigator.

Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi.
Been passing this one recently a lot and the taunting was driving me batty. So when I realised that I was heading here today I devised a plan to finally make the find. Missed it heading out but on the way back I put the plan into action. Luckily there was a police road block up the road which was restricting traffic past the location So a search was easy. What was not fun was the ridiculously strong magnet holding the cache to the structure. Finally managed to get the cache out, sign the log and replace. Really glad to now have the smiley for this one. The Taunting has now stopped. Yay.

We have a small team travelling to The Yorke Peninsula in South Australia from Canberra. It was decided by the group before we left that our team name would be DTY, although I act like the boss, I rarely am and so the initials actually stand for - dty73, Tankengine & Youban.

We came here in particular to do this trail of letterbox caches to help our statistics. However we couldn’t pass some of the traditional as we were going by. This was obviously one of them.

Found quickly with traffic passing by, the only quiet time we saw this road was late at night. Tftc Freddo the Chocolate frog!!!

On a cacaching trip with Dty73 & Tankengine to Yorke Peninsula. Team signed as DTY. Wow! The traffic was horrendous. Why did we choose a long weekend for a visit! Nice sign. Kutgw

21-Sep-18
We have just completed the mail run up the hill so now it is time to return to town, but it is hard to drive by other traditional caches on the way so we are stopping to pick them up where we can.
We’ve past this sign on quite a number of occasions in the past but not been able to stop as we had a caravan on the back. Well today we don’t so it is now a smilie.

So many caches, so little time! Our last stop for the day - our investigation at this spot proved fruitless a couple of years back. We soon had a result today but "Boy Oh Boy" retrieving the treasure was a challenge!

Thanks to 'Freddo' for the hunt and cache placement

Mogni was chasing a milestone, so three of the GOTHs headed down Yorkes to 'Go Fishin'. To help me meet a 200-in-a-day milestone we went after 'easy to find' caches which Brisal had already done. Sadly, this one could not be found! Perhaps we were blinded by the light, but it appears it's not there.

Only had to worry about traffic from one direction here Big Grin so when I had a clear window of opportunity I pounced. A nice hide at a cool structure [^] My Muggle mate was amused by it Wink SL at 16:48 on Sat 20 Jan 2018. TFTC Freddo the Chocolate Frog Smile

Before attending the Red Centre Experience event in Alice Springs we're spending 5 days in SA mainly around the Yorke Peninsular. Appreciated the variety of containers and places they were hidden - it certainly brought us to places we certainly wouldn't have stopped at. many thanks to all the COs for your time and effort in the placement of your caches.

07-Apr-17
A week out before the Alice Springs Event, we decided to travel from Adelaide to Yorke Peninsula for our stay.
Due to the large volume of caches found and limited internet services I am doing a generic logs. The caches found were in different shape and sized and certainly took us to spots we normally would not have visited.

Thank you to all CO's.

Day Ten of our holiday, BettyBoo3747 and I are on the move again. Leaving Victor Harbor for Moonta.
We left early and got to Two Wells for morning tea and our first caches. Then doing the odd cache on the road as we rounded the Gulf of St. Vincent.
We knew the hint for this one, having done its twin at the other end of town.
Crossing the highway on a Friday of a long weekend was a challenge though!
Thanks, Robmc.

10-Mar-17
#11737. Day 10 of our SA holiday. After an early start from Victor Harbor we headed for Two Wells with our final stop Moonta. We picked up caches along the way as they popped up on the radar. A nice day of 20 finds and one DNF.

Man, this is a busy road - took our life in our hands on a Friday afternoon trying to get this one going north. I do believe it is the same ship as we saw earlier and therefore the hide was also easy, except Rob's paw was too big to retrieve it. The TB that was theoretically put in here a year ago (I doubt it would have fitted) disappeared in the caching ether in the first week.

Thanks Freddo

Did this as a drive by. Not recommended, as you are pointing the wrong way into the traffic as you drive out
Thanks Freddo the Chocolate Frog

17-Dec-16
Have wanted to grab this one for a while but have always had to drive past as it's not easy to pull over in a safe enough spot. Today though was the day as we were here early enough that traffic wasn't too crazy. Made a quick find. Looks like they have done a bit of work making sure you can see it at night, there's a lot of led strip lights all over it. TFTC.

31-Oct-16
On our way home to Victoria. A reasonably quick find thankfully, as we're targeting quick finds for the trip home as it's a long enough drive already. JSando made the grab on this one.

Thankfully there were not too many places this cache could be hiding and it was soon spotted and retrieved. All was good with the cache and after signing the log we were soon on our way. Thank you to Freddo for placing this cache as a nice introduction to Port Wakefield.

04-Jul-16
My minions have replaced the missing cache and it is ready for finding again.

27-Jun-16
Cache replaced for CO as I was with 2 previous finders who confirmed it was not where it was meant to be.

SPOILER:

Please note, the cache is a grey tape covered eclipse tin on the BACK of the sign (as we didn't have any magnets with us), sitting on a horizontal ledge behind a vertical pole about head height.

Found whilst on a road trip with CPwanderer and Locus Cache, with the aim of the weekend to cache in and around Port Lincoln - fresh territory for us all. We certainly had a great time, however with a DNF rate of about 40% [:(!], it was tough going! We did however thoroughly enjoy the beautiful locations and scenery.

After joking all day on the Sunday we should spend another night in Pt Lincoln, circumstances presented that meant we needed to extend our time away! We took it slowly on the way home which enabled us to once again visit some terrific places

Thanks for the cache Smile

26-Jun-16
No find for me either I'm afraid, and it was too dark to do a really good hunt around the general area with the phone. Hire cars really should come much better equiped!

We looked high, we looked low, we looked in, we looked out, but today there was no way we could work this 1.5/1.5 out! We're a tipp'n it's a miss'n.

DNF #3 - perhaps time for CO to check it out!

Thanks anyway to Freddo for bringing us to this location.

Based on preceding logs, perhaps it would be good for the CO to checked on this one!
