No luck for us today unfortunately. Ground is so squishy still after all the rain. Not sure I want the little turmoil back in my car.
I was soooo close to walking away...
After parking on Tygum Road and walking in, I’d taken the opportunity to read lots of logs... Once at GZ, I spotted the but my GPS didn’t want me over there... so I concentrated on where it wanted me, but not enough... so over to the I went... others had mentioned angles and shadows so out came the torch... remembering some had mentioned a sharps container, and I thought they were taking the Mickey because the is Sharp... anyway I digress...
Back to where the GPS really wanted me to be... round this way and that... move this, move that... put your head there... oh there it is... gggrrrrr..... tftc...

A few caches to help me with a personal Logan target today.
A hot walk here and then a bit of a search, it is all about the angle.
Thank you for placing this geocache Gullivers Travels54

I finished work on time today, and as this hide was just down the road, and the teens at home were full of drama, I decided this was a good time to hunt for an elusive cache. I parked near the path and followed it to as close to gz as I could; stopping to read a few of the logs. I spotted the same items which were previously mentioned but followed the numbers to a different spot. I hunted for about 10 minutes if I'm honest, before I spotted the cache as I looked from a different angle. Muddy on the outside as noted but all in good condition inside. I added my name to the log and returned all as found. Tftc Gullivers Travels54
A nice, smooth skate down to this one from the other cache. Unfortunately, found nothing but a dumped TV.

Took much longer than it should have. Was about to give up when spotted. Thank you

After a nice litre walk in, I sighed as I got to GZ. Sooooo many options! I looked here, I looked there, read through previous activity and looked and looked some more. My GPS was jumping a bit so wasn’t all that helpful. Don’t know what made me look over there but lucky I did as I uncovered the sneaky little bugger! A very good hide! I’m glad I found it. TFTC!
We walked to here from another cache across the road.
This one took quite a while to find, but after re- reading previous logs we soon honed in on cache.
It was a tricky hide and we're glad we persisted as it was eventually found really well hidden. We were "this" close to calling it but luckily Geofriend was determined Thanks for the cache

I'd say I have poor form geocaching near home lately. But it's more that I have poor form geocaching at all. As a result there's loads of easy finds near home that I've never even thought about. And I found myself doing a bit of a hunt for geocaches that haven't been logged in a significant amount of time. The chances, in my mind, of those two lists overlapping at all feels like it should be zero. A micro in a suburban park ought to be found every day of the weekends and school holidays. But this listing was just that. Don't get me wrong, I fully anticipated the possibility that it had been muggled/washed away/eaten by a dog/otherwise forgotten.
After a long weekend at two long conferences, today was a bit more chilled. Late this afternoon I went for a drive. It's been such a very long time since I've just gone for a drive for a geocache, but I did. And this was my second stop. I parked on Logan Reserve Rd and with nobody around, followed the path towards GZ. The heavy rain lately has left some pretty boggy areas but the area around GZ was not one of them.
With my expectation that this geocache is likely missing, I took things slow and let my phone settle. Heck, even if it is here, it has over a year of mother nature overgrowing it to hide it better than ever. I wound up in a likely location and found something suspicious. It was not the geocache. I took two steps to another feature and spotted something. An unnatural something. Alas, it lead me to the geocache. Not too hard to find, not too far to walk. Why hasn't it been having any love?
The logbook inside was in perfect condition, so I added my name, replaced exactly as found and called it a find. I grabbed some rubbish for a bit of CITO and wandered back to the car.
You may call me disbelieving, but I checked historic aerial photos for evidence of this drive-in cinema and sure enough, it existed! The screen used to be to the west of this geocache, where the paths and road form a triangle. I've attached the photo for anyone else interested. And as bonus, just to the south west used to be an airfield! It's currently being developed into a housing estate though. But I digress, thank you for this geocache Gullivers Travels54. It is there and happy and ready to be found again soon

Out with joojoo57 for an afternoon caching in the area.
This was the last one for the day and after being directed to drive through the village, we took another route via the parkland.
Arrived at GZ and noticed a bit of rubbish dumped nearby including a sharps container. PLEASE TAKE CARE IN THE AREA. After a little search, came up with the cache cleverly hidden. Logsheet signed and cache returned to its hide.
Thanks for reviving fond memories of drive-in theatres.

Last of the caches we went looking for this afternoon. Patrol14 and I finally spotted its hide . Interesting information about there being a drive-in here - wasn't operating for very long!
Thanks GT54.
Thanks GT54.
Moved around to the other side of the Reserve.
While Geopartner waited in the Geomobile, I headed to GZ.
Took a while as everything was brown with dried mud.
Checked out a few of the features about, even an abandoned TV.
I spotted something and soon had the cache in hand.
It had mud on the outside but when opened everything inside was dry.
Signed the log and returned it to where I found it.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks Gullivers Travels All good with this cache
Another one C Debbie was not able to claim.

Here I was heading off to work a twelve hour day shift this morning, and had allowed plenty of time to walk in and find this one
I parked up on Logan Reserve Road and the walk int ground zero didn't take very long at all. I'd read through a few of the online logs last night hoping to glean a few hints about the cache location here. I think a couple of comments had helped, as I found the cache container in the first place I looked [^]
I extracted the log sheet and dutifully signed my name (well my caching name at least lol) and put today's date as well
Then everything was replaced back as I had found it. All is ready for the next geocacher to come in here and find it [8d]
This one keeps my daily streak rolling along and currently at one hundred and thirty nine days
This cache is also one I'm using as a qualifier for the February challenge. I still need another "R" cache and a "U" cache to finish the month off.
Thanks for the cache Gullivers Travels54

It turns out that today is my day for coming back to DNF's.
I was a little undecided on coming back here as the last time I was here my GPS was jumping everywhere, and spent much longer than I wanted looking.
Thankfully today things turned out to be a little different, and after initially heading to the wrong area, and letting the GPSr settle while looking, I realised I was about 12m out and soon once in the right spot, I soon spotted the cache, not where I expected, but the cache all the same.

I had a look for this one previously, a few weeks ago. On that occasion, I was short on time. It was overcast and my GPS was jumping around all over the place. I had no idea where to look and was getting frustrated reading logs that said "quick easy find". So I gave up.
When I found myself in the area again today, I wasn't really keen on having another look as I wasn't confident. But the sun was shining out of a brilliant blue sky and the GPS led me straight to the right spot.
I actually looked at the cache without seeing it at first. I guess the best way to describe it was that it blended into the shadows. But then I realised what I was looking at.
It's always nice to sign a clean log.

Alas today this was not to be. The first stop and a DNF, read through a lot of previous logs a number mentioning coords spot on but even checking a lot of options in a 10m radius resulted in nothing. Maybe next time lets hope the rest of the afternoon goes better than this.
Nearly walked past this one as a muggle came out way, but we waited it out and left with a smilie tftc
A leisurely morning of geocaching and this was one we were able to get. Thanks to Gullivers Travels54 for placing this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the location.
Another find for the Black Flag Crew this time it was Black Flag Angel that came up with the find. TFTC, signed and returned.
Once again geocaching has taken us to a place where we learn a little more past history. It was interesting to see the photos of the area before the retirement village, and the then building on the web site I subsequently searched. Thanks for the information. Found at 3.15pm on 8th September 2015. TFTC.
There was a cache guardian that met us at GZ. This was such a pleasant adventure. TFTC!
Tftc having a tough time finding them today but at last! And thanks for the history, who would have thought.
I normally read cache listings long before I head out in search but today was an impromptu outing. I had driven around to the western side of GZ then wandered down the pathway. So as I walked along getting a tan on the back of my neck and legs I read the cache page and was surprised at the history of the area. Thats pretty cool, it's quite a shame there's only one drive in left on the coast, well as far as I know anyway.
I hope know one was watching me from the retirement village as I dived into the bush. Thankfully I didn't have to wander around for ages looking for it as it came into view rather quickly. The log sheet is full but I managed to squeeze my name on it. You might want to drop a new one in soon GT54.
Thanx again. Should I go find another one? Croak.

found at 2.48pm luckily ty noticed this one as I walked past it to look else where. Luckily the fire missed the cache only 5-10 metres away.
And thank you for the history story in the description I love drive in's ashame this one has gone
At first I was trying to put the name to a place, then GPS went wild, went outside area got bearings and yep there it was. TFTC
Walking up the path we see a chair & think 'Reserved' so naturally I stop looking at the GPS & think yay its just there, well guess what - Its not just there after all..... Um Watch the GPS Mr CCU2014 and you will get there in the end. So we kept walking, assumptions should be saved for elsewhere, not when locating a cache haha... Tftc Tfth
Moving on in our epic journey, the trees were being a little elusive to find this one. I turned around at one point towards the cache, and spotted the cache in its little niche. TFTC
Out and about on a binge Friday with Nurseyjulie. An easy walk from the road, but it took a minute or so to spot the hide. TFTC, Gullivers Travels54.
I was up north and had a few hours for my favourite game so I picked this area as I had a good group not found yet.
After a few of the earlier finds today I was more switched as to the method of hiding so this one did not elude me for very long.
The GPS was spot on so that obviously helped in the search as well.
Thanks GT54 TFTC SL

GPS did a little dance leading us on a merry walk on this one but finally settled down enough for us to find this one. Done with BENJDAU.
The car GPS took us into the complex but we could see the fence between the houses and realized there'd be no access from there. Drove out and around and found a good walkway that took us straight to the cache - no worries. Thanks for the history here GulliversTravels54. We'd never have known this was an old site for a Drive In Movie. It's a pity the Drive-Ins are disappearing. [^]
Some shade while we sign the log with initials. After a snack at nearby McDonalds we were off on the afternoon stage of our Waterford adventure. Not one DNFS so far today but can we keep it up?
Out with only two of the kids today, James and Natasha. Decided on another run up the Motorway to the outer Brisbane area. Completed the woodlands series and a stack of other caches in the area on a pretty humid day. Did the last 4 caches in the rain. Thanks to all cache owners for hiding and maintaining their caches.
Nice walk and an extended search for this one. Eventually got it. TFTC.

I had missed this one earlier because of the mower men. When I was on my way back there was still one worker fairly close, but he was making his away along the fence up on the hill away from me. Lurked at the nearby seat for a few minutes until he was gone
There were two lovely gum trees near GZ showing off their new pink skin today. Very pretty. Makes me want salmon for lunch
Had a bit of a hunt at GZ. A well hidden micro. Found it eventually and as a bonus managed to avoid the cobblers pegs

Had a nice walk to GZ today. It was overcast and a bit breezy, so very pleasant. I wonder if the residents at the top of the hill have noticed the suspicious characters lurking near that tree at the bottom of the hill . Found the cache without too much trouble and signed the log.
Nice day for a walk along the bike path. Lots of bird life about. Cache found and log signed. TFTC

The tree lined walks here display lots of Australian native flora and provide plenty of hidey holes for the fauna too. Caches, no matter how small they are will be found though. Signed and off we go to the pub.
Last stop of the arvo walk. Searched a few areas but ran out of time to keep searching.

Took a little while to find, whilst searching trying not to look to suspicious to the nearby residents. TFTC
Took a few minutes to track this one down. Once found we quickly signed the log and got moving again. Felt like we were being watch with the nearby retirement units, but that may just be down to paranoia lol. TFTC
Very nice spot for a cache - had to be looking from the right angle to locate this sneaky little sucker! Signed the oh so tiny log and replaced. TFTC
Some of us are old enough to remember drive-ins being all over the place, always a fun night out. With the showers around keeping the muggles at bay this was a easy find, luckily the first place I looked. The ground is definetly soaked but the cache and log are dry and in good condition. TFTC

The GPS was out by 5 metres on one side of the path and then the other so resorted to looking for likely spot and cache was soon to hand. Thanks Gullivers Travels54.
I only remember going to one drive-in; does this count as a second? Though I'm surprised the cars didn't get bogged around here! Nasty, slimy red gloop on the path was a bit icky, but at least the birdlife I disturbed here was a beautiful white heron-type thing that was a pleasant distraction. It took us a few minutes to find this as both GPSrs had us in a slightly clearer spot, but tree cover is likely the reason for that. With the sun right overhead, the cache blends in very effectively with its surroundings. We then did battle with the many cobblers pegs we'd acquired in the search before proceeding to the next one. TFTC, Gullivers Travels54. =^.^=
On a clear Sunday morning, with a crispness in the air and no-one around, I was certainly not reserved in ducking in for a hunt on this one... In the company of Kaisho53, We approached from different sides and I spotted the container immediately on arrival. It's handy when that happens... [^]
Out with the log and in with names, we returned to the path for the return journey. A nice little nest you found for this one...
Cheers Gullivers Travels54.

I had picked up some friends who have come with me on a few hunts and wanted to clear the new ones from the area.
This was the first of 9 that I had on the list.
The heavy rains from yesterday had left a few puddles on the path and we gingerly negotiated through them.
There were 4 pairs of eyes looking for the cache and it tool a good 10 minutes before it was spotted.
Thanks for bringing back the memories of the Drive-in screen disappearing into the fog on cool Winter nights. I'm sure that there were quite a few of the patrons who didn't mind that at all.

After a long full day hike with Dansny up to Numinbah Views, Mt Waygone, and Mt Hobwee we were in the area and collected 3 FTFs, but this one eluded us. We search and we searched for this one, but after no luck in 30 minutes were decided to head home. Good thing too as the old bugger on the hill phoned the cops. It's a good thing we didn't stick around too much longer, but you are welcome boys (TriBre and Mastamak) for more adventure at this cache.
We came back the next day for a daylight search and had it in hand in seconds. Why couldn't we do this last night?

After spending the day cache with a large party, we headed home and had supper then some notifications and Mastamak, myself and BosNewellgus headed out once again for the First to Find's.
Now here is cache that will stick with Mastamak and myself for a very long time to come. We arrived at GZ and started our search but could not nail down the cache. It was at about this time Mastamak made the comment "What is that Taxi doing shining its light into the park?" It was at this point it came to mind that it could be someone checking to see if they could see anyone so they could attempt to break into my vehicle.
It was at this point I said "I had better go and check this out!" having come around the corner we could see someone at the vehicle and then we could see the Police vehicle, and then the search light looking for us. They spotted us and walked towards us, with the question of
"What are you going out here?" first thought goes through my mind is "How am I going to explain this?"
but Mastamak beat me to it "We are Geocaching officer."
"Your doing what?", it was at this point we gave them the quick short version of Geocaching and how some kind person had placed these out here for us to find. It was at this point that they pointed out that up the hill was an old age home and they had called in to say there was mysteries lights down the hill and they were worried they where coming for them. With that understood we explained it was more then likely the people before us and that they may expect more.
We returned to our car for short time and thanked the police, but we would be going back to find the cache. At this point we did not go to this cache but continued walking to The TB Hotel and then would return on the way back to the car. What a night, we did attempt a cache after doing this one but once again someone was watching our car, I am sure for spare parts and we decided to leave for home they could wait as it was now 12:15pm.
This was the 25th find of 17 finds for the day and 8 finds for the night for a total of 25.

After a successful afternoon of gathering FTF's we initially decided not to go for this one when the notification popped up (besides we were having tea at the time!!) but within the next 15 minutes another four of 'Gullivers Travels54' power trail cache's also popped up on the email notifications, so..... ok lets go again
As we thought 'the hunting rabbit' would by now be on the scene we decided this was the closet target for us. After an aborted attempt to approach via the retirement village side we quickly drove around to find the path leading to GZ.
We found the coords to be spot on and didn't waste too much time before we had the cleverly hidden cache in hand. Yea FTF number 4 for the day
Thanks Gullivers Travels54 for continuing your power trail.

We found the coords to be spot on and didn't waste too much time before we had the cleverly hidden cache in hand. Yea FTF number 4 for the day
Thanks Gullivers Travels54 for continuing your power trail.
TFTC.
This one proved to be an adventure.
We parked the car and walked to GZ. We had only been looking for a few minutes when I noticed a car on the road drive slowly by shining a light into the park area.
I stupidly said to TriBre "what's that taxi doing shining his light into the park?" before realising that it was probably the police. We couldn't see the car from where we were so we decided to walk back to make sure everything was ok.
As we go into view of the car we could see the police pulled up and shining their torches around trying to find us. The eventually did and came to ask what we were up to. After a fumbling explanation as to what geocaching was, shown my licence and given my contact details, we finally had them convinced that we weren't up to no good. They explained that someone in the nearby retirement village had seen a number of people with torches in the area and had called it in to the police. The decided to leave us be and carry on with their patrol.
We decided that we would forget about this one but walk further on to the TB Hotel. We did so but the temptation to find this one was too great on the return walk.
The coordinates were pretty much spot on and we should have found this much quicker. Sure enough it was right there.
TFTF, Gullivers Travels54 and for the adventure we had tonight.

Not an easy find in the dark. We didn't trust the GPS. Police paid us a visit.
