Now home to a very fast spider who did not want to come out.. those who don't like spider beware.
TFTC . . . . . . Quick find for us today. No lid on the tin but log sheets are dry, super full and jammed in there
Had a live in cockroach which made me drop it at first. Signed and placed back. Ewwww. Lol.

Took a few moments to ponder the growth of the area, after the find was signed and put back of course.
Sure does change quickly each time we make the trip north to the Auckland area.

Roadtrip time, day 6.
I have used the Easter weekend combined with taking 4 days leave this week to get in a 9-day driving tour, hoping to get as far north as 90 mile beach in order to seek the recently published PWGT caches throughout Northland, as well as catch up with 4 different sets of friends.
Having travelled down from Auckland to the Coromandel yesterday, it was time now to reverse course and head back up to Northland. By tonight I would be in Waipu, but I had a full days caching before I could rest.
This was effectively a quick park and grab for me today. No problems parking up near GZ and walking over to find the cache exactly where it was supposed to be. I encountered no issues with either the container or the log, which was swiftly signed before the whole lot was replaced exactly as found.
Thanks for setting up this cache.

Nice quick and easy cache to sneak in whilst the family were out. The attraction of the motorway was quite magnetic. Forgot the pen so will go back later to sign log.
On a geocaching expedition from Nelson. Way back in February Isis58, no.13 and I planned a trip to Auckland for the planned Mega event. When Covid struck and the country went into lockdown we decided to wait and see what happened - - that was less hassle than trying to get refunds on our flights anyway. Well, of course the Mega event was cancelled but luckily for us, flying was an option again by Labour Weekend. We changed some of the details of our trip but decided we would fit in as much caching as we could. We were joined by Mrs SoBad. We visited some amazing places, fitted in some walks, came across lots of people - - lots of traffic too. A huge thank you to the COs for hiding caches which presented us with puzzles to solve, took us to great places, were cleverly camouflaged, were cunningly hidden - - sometimes in plain sight - - all of the above and of course an equal thank you for the ones that just gave us one more smilie. We really really appreciated them all. Thanks !
When driving along motorways we are often aware of all the caches that appear so close but are so far away really. Mrs SoBad was here as part of a group from Nelson and we had found one under the motorway already so nice to have one that was over. Signed as INSS for the 4 cacher's names.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Another quick find to keep the tally ticking over on a number collecting day. TFTC Fudge2000 #16,024
We are working our way to our milestone 6000th cache find and are planning a trip up north in October to celebrate, therefore a caching day, to get a few numbers, was planned with Keylev and Laval. What started as a foggy and/or cloudy day (we couldn't decide which) turned into a glorious sunny spring day and after caching our way to Long bay for an event, we headed north to get some power caching done!
Parked further up and walked back to GZ. Soon had the cache in hand and were on our way. TFTC!

Interesting find here. Parked up the way and walked back and soon had the cache in hand. It has f=no lid gut no problem. A lizard is living in with the log book and got a good pic of him/her as I signed the log. T F T C
A longish week in the office often has me yearning for the great outdoors and with a walk at Muriwai under my belt earlier in the week, and me 'baching' this week with mrs capperz away until Friday the lure of 'out' was too much. And so I wangled an E K O to attempt some caches out Riverhead way, and beyond. With all of the Smile series solved during lockdown and only 1 find on the series it was tempting to give my Unknown cache numbers a tickle, it sure made me smile.
Headed onto the trail around 3PM and gave up at 6 PM as the lack of light was a factor in parking etc. I managed 20 of the Smile series, and another 13 'others' including a few along the Dacre cottage challenge cache highway. A good afternoon to be doing the hobby, and a few regional COs names are getting more prolific on my finds by list.

A good hint made for an easy find though initially I only found the lid. After another look the cache was in hand and the lid fitted back on after signing the log
After parking further up the road we headed back down to find this one. This area could do with a CITO as there was a lot of rubbish on our walk to Gz. Quick find of the cache here thanks to the hint. Lid is broken but we managed to put it back on before replacing the cache.
Well what a great Christmas New Years we have had so far it all started off in Friendly Feilding have Christmas lunch with the family then next day Boxing day off to Danniverke for a weeks holiday together so special first holiday with the Grandson hes only 7 months old, then we didn't know what or where to go next so ended up going to Napier and then across the Napier Taupo road got a cache and a trackable, not easy to stop all the time with a large caravan on the back. We finally got to Taupo and said where to now so we kept going and then we got a text message some plans next week had been transferred to the end of January so we could go away for an extra week. We ended up in Walton Gold course for two nights to finish off the Kiwi and another puzzle series got 46 caches in total some were traditionals as well, got that sorted and then headed off today decided we would do the Route 66 trail and Smilie trail so we ended up in Orewa so we are here for a few nights. We set off this morning and completed the Route 66 series had some lunch about 1.30pm then we decided to get some more traditionals in the area and then slowly head off to get some smilie series but you can not go past a traditional along the way, this was a quick find and a great photo opportunity. thank you for bringing us to this location TFTC cache is all good here signed the log and placed the cache back where we found it.
Visiting my son for the weekend, and I dragged him along to a 'get as many as possible today' outing... We had great fun and fitted in a walk as well as some driving. Nice day to be out and about! TFTC!!
A quick count and soon had the cache in hand. Logged asTRR

Good easy find. Good starter cache. Not the best reception read the details before you get there! Take a pen.
Out and about today with Keylev to pick up the smile series we had solved a while ago and a few traditionals along the way This was our 17th find of the day and a nice quick one thanks to the hint. Log signed as Team Seac, TFTC!
Out for an adventure with Dragon Griffin, cragger and laval.
Nice quick find thankfully as there was quite a bit of traffic out today.
Thanks for the cache.

Find number 4 before we hit 12am, nice easy cache, glad to see this one hasn't been affected by all this rain we have had lately. TFTC
We've had a great day in Auckland geocaching. We're heading home very soon as darkness is approaching. I have never been a regular visitor to Auckland due to its distance from home. But I do know this area had changed heaps. I still remember when the Auckland harbour bridge was a toll bridge. It was not like the ones now a days with easy pay systems. It was a toll booth and coins. I like the user pays system on these roads. An easy find, TFTC
Nice view of the traffic below. I just counted the right number as I walked over and the cache was right where the hint says. TFTC.
Up in Albany on a wet day so I thought I would finish off some drive by caches I missed when doing thevSmile series recently. Had a look around, things most certainly have changed over the years, seems in the middle of no where but start looking for a cache and that seems to attract the cars.
On way to cache at Silverdale , so came this way especially to get these two !
Nice quick find thanks Fudge2000

Was out today doing the 'Smile' series, and found time to pick up a couple of extra caches along the way.
I started over the wrong side, but a quick re-check of the GPS put me right.
This was a nice quick find, as I was tracking back across Dairy Flat, TFTC

Even though I have driven past & under this bridge hundreds of times this is the 1st time I have actually ventured over it. Quick find following the hint. Now to double the amount of time I have crossed this bridge. TFTC
Found this one while I was out logging a few of the Smile Series. Nice quick find. TFTC
11.44am - Fitting other caches in today as we go along completing our Smiley challenge. Easy find. SLTFTC
A long way from home today... We are targeting several puzzle solves to put toward our current license challenge. With Gap (of Fap and Gap)...
A small diversion while on the smile trail... A quick find here... TFTC.

Good find. A bit busy and hard not to look suspicious to the muggles driving by. TFTC
Out grabbing a few local caches close to work on the way home on a Friday night. getting close to the point where I'll have to call it a day.
Find #1104. Thank you very much for the cache. 23/01/2015 18:44

Usually we drive under this bridge. Today we got to see the view from up on top. Easy enough find and not just for us. A huge amount of ants seemed to enjoy the location too. Thanks for placing the cache and giving us a new perspective Fudge2000.
Smiley questions bouncing us around so refreshing to see you here nice and easy! TFTC
On a mission today for our 50 caches km apart. Helefant was along for the ride too, so we have signed logs DJH - Darby&Joan, Helefant, for speed and saving space. This was find #7. Quick stop here, watched the motorway traffic for a moment. SL. TFTC.
Was quite a busy road today so had to wait for it to all clear. Then made a quick find, sign and replace. TFTC.
On an extreme caching mission from the mighty 'Tron with 11hpgh11, HKCB & JDM99, hoping to complete three Auckland power trails & find as many extra caches as we could along the way. We logged as any number of the possible combinations of H, H, K & J, as we kept forgetting which combo we'd agreed on. Parking & the find here were all straight-forward in the small hours of the morning; good fun searching as a crew at dawn & in the intermittent rain with no muggles around to question our madness. TFTC.
A trip a long time in the making. 4 brave cachers to attempt 3 Auckland Powertrails in one day. Could it be done? Who knows. HKCB, Kiwis69, Jdm99 and myself arose early and left Hamilton to attempt a massive collection of caches. We logged as a group name HKJH or HHKJ or JKHH as our brains got wearier as the day progressed.
This was a fun series both to solve and find. Enjoyed sharing the songs with my son while I tried to solve them. Many thanks for setting up a nice puzzle series. We had a lot of discussion in the car on our favourites and enjoyed reminiscing about the songs

Out and about with Kiwis69, 11HPG11, and JDM99 on the sole purpose of tackling all 3 power trails in one day, and any else in between. To maximise as much daylight as possible it meant a real early start, so was on our way to Auckland at 3.30am, and the first cache located just before 5.30am. After many puppies, a couple of piggies, a few smilies, some epic field puzzles, and a trip down route 66, 16 hours of caching, 250ish caches and numerous kilometres we achieved our goal about 9.30pm. A great day, with some great company. Thanks to everyone for all the placements, we signed the logs with some combination of HHJK, for some reason the order kept changing.
K69 and HPG raced to find this one while I turned the car around.

Tagged along with Kiwis69, 11hpg11, and HKCB in the hope of grabbing 3 Auckland power trails in one day. A big day out and lots of fun. Thanks heaps to everyone for all the cache placements, logged as a combination of JKHH in random order. TFTC
Easy enough find, after trying to park the car at all angles. Co-ords spot on too btw.
We enjoyed this sunny afternoon with Donisa, grabbing the last caches of Dairy Flat area. Cheers for the cache.
This is almost the end of our journey in New Zealand. We have this day free from work, so we use it to see one of the last wonders we did not see yet in New Zealand. Those balck sands beaches are beautiful. We went with our friend Karapo 88 during this sunny day. It was wonderful and we used this good time to find some caches. We spent the day at the Muriwai beach, and on we found some others on the way back.
Thanks for the cache.
