Too bad, also no luck for me. To be honest it was dark and I was quite discouraged by the previous DNF's, but still...
Sadly, no find despite an extensive search for over an hour! Lots of nooks and crannies, but sadly all these proved empty. Unless I am blinded by my determination to find this darn thing!
Miss12 & I headed out early evening & made it our mission to find this cache. We worked out which side we needed to approach it. It was a quick & easy find using the hint. Grabbed the TB geocoin. Had a wee splash in the creek & saw an eel trying to swim upstream. TFTC SoBad
Sounds like it didn't survive the weather bomb. Away and will check when we are home.
Came up the wrong side of the creek, had to jump it with torch and a eel at 9.30 at night
Took Neve out to show her how to drop off a TB, ended up having a great adventure. Scared off a large eel, jumped the creek on a makeshift stepping stone. Success.
I was looking around for it and I was gonna give up ten I found It pro tip never give up
I started on the wrong side of the creek, but eventually figured out the correct side. Once there, the find was much easier. TFTC.
Find number 5 on a ride with our wee people. I sent Mr NZH across the stream because we were on the wrong side. An easy find once there. TFTC
I am saying my brother got me into this I love trying and trying to find them fun thing to do in lockdown
Doing some odd caches to ip my finds for the day. Chilly wind today. Cherry trees just coming into flower. Nicely hidden but felt a little exposed to a nearby house. Tftc.
I was nearby and saw my frownie face on the map from my last attempt. So, I have returned to put things right and this time it was an easy find. I have no idea how I didn't see it last time. Thanks SoBad.
A bit of a theme for me today - DNFs! Hint seemed good, coords seemed good and D/T rating says this should be easy but not for me today. Didn't help that I slipped into the creek while trying to be tricky and cross from the pathed side over some not so stable rocks.
Nice to have the kids with me to help find. They enjoyed playing in the stream.

After chatting to the detective yesterday I came over here to assist in the retrieving the stolen jewels for the big heist that was reported at the Teague-Ulmer Museum recently. It absolutly hosed down on the way over but the day was pretty much okay after that. I had Taybeedragon, my partner in anti-crime, with me and after checking on the camera footage and checking where the fools left their finger prints and foot prints, we are a lot closer to recovering the stones.
After much diligent work we are so close to recovering the emerald. Confident that it is here we stride to the cache. And then, like a slapstick comedy skit, we retreat sheepishly back the way we came and re-appear walking down the other side of the stream. Found the cache and YES!!!! We have recovered the emerald!!!! Pull out the phone and remove emerald from the cache filters - don't need any more of those caches. Big smile, one down, four to go...
This is my first serious geocaching session with the official geocaching app. I am using this rather than my preferred app or my GPS as the inbuilt filters cater to the museum clues. So the only caches that show on the cellphone are ones that hold the clues still yet to find. And as we complete a clue set, I drop that out of the filter. It certainly made retrieving the jewels easy!

Off to Nelson with The Seagnoid finding clues to help solve the Museum Heist. Thankfully the storm has past over by the time we reach Nelson with only the odd shower during the day.
Stopped off to read the info boards about the Orphanage here. Then is on down the path to realise we are on the WRONG side of the stream so its back track to start all over again on the other side for the stream. Thankkfully not so much rain today to stop our entry to snag and tag this one. Cheers. And bag the last emerald thats been left for us. Cheers

All good here, except I made the mistake of walking down the wrong side of the stream. Doh! Looks like I am doing that multi at the bridge after all.....So did it the long way but all good here, although not much of a rock holding this little battler in place. Go well little cache. TFTC SoBad.
Not much on today, so with my eye on the weather forecast (favourable til nightfall) and a new souvenir challenge released, I decided to front foot it and head over the hill to boost some numbers.
Quite a few solved mysteries in the bank - today I was able to tick off some of those.
But basically the day was dictated by the challenge, and I roamed around with no real plan - just urban park and grabs and short walks, of which I still have a lot to find.
20 for the day, good fun. Left for home when it started to become a chore. A few DNFs as normal, but great to be over the hill again. Thanks all COs.

Dropped someone off at the Pic's Cafe and had a spare hour before picking up, so I decided to go for a walk. Wasn't quite sure from which side to approach this one, glad I was on the right side (which was actually the left for me, coming from Saxton Rd).
Walked behind the hint object and sat down there to sign the log. TB inside, all good and dry, I hope it will survive even longer.

Made my way to gz and spotted cache quickly. Thought there might be people home in nearest house so took 'subtle' route to cache. Signed log. Left tb
Thanks for the cache. This one is for my friend, Allanah. We have shared so many geocaching adventures around the country. Now she is on her final journey, not far away in the hospice. This one is on such a lovely pathway I was sure there was a cache nearby, and sure enough. Very appropriate!
Good cache. Had a bit of struggle getting to it though since I was on the wrong side... TFTC
A quick and easy find, a bit of a stepping stone across the creek. Cheers
We are on our way back south now, with a wee detour to Nelson.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

Nice and easy find. The box was rather soggy and covered in algae. The paper inside was soaked, but still a fun experience.
Success! Cache was a little drowned after all the rain that came through yesterday & today, an since it's last find, so I got out as much as I could.
TFTC & the fun of finding it!

A quick find on a Sunday afternoon walk along the Esplanade.
Log a little damp but still useable.
Signed and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache SoBad.

We'd seen this cache fort sometime but it wasn't until today that SJT_NZ and I wandered in this direction. A quick find, TFTC
Cacher has survived the recent river rise - wet but still in place. We replaced the sodden log with a dry one double bagged.
Location was next to a stream, may have been washed away to recent heavy rain that has raised the water level
The title of this one appealed to me so I thought it should be my cache of the day. This was my first time on this side of the creek, it seems popular with people who take their dogs for a walk. I found a gap in the muggles and made a very quick find. The cache was full of water and the log is very wet. Unfortunately the sun was going down when I was here so could not dry it out (other than tipping out what I could). I sort of scratched my name onto the log but didn't want to damage it so not a very good mark. Thanks SoBad for the cache
I grew up on an apple orchard right here. Rode my pony in my teen years most days along this creek, ate fresh crunchy apples, played outside every day till it was dark, - ha - those were the days! Funny to come back and see it as a mass of houses but nice network of walkways and public spaces too. TFTC
I decided to go out for a bike ride this afternoon and somehow ended up in this area! Very relaxing and beautiful. Enjoyed just sitting here and listening to the sound of the babbling creek. Thanks for bringing me here!
