I was visiting relatives today with the geokid and dragged them all along for a spot of caching. Great secluded spot! Like a few of the other cachers, I got up the wrong tree first but after a few minutes fruitless searching, moved to the next tree along and had the cache in hand after only a small climb. TFTC!
Headed to Lara this morning to find a few caches before work.
Perched at GZ for a minute or two before I spotted this little one. I always rather enjoy finding a well-known cacher's first hide (even though this one is v2).

Needing a little bit of an adventure I headed out to this cache. A micro in a tree. Not usually my style, but hey, new place, new story to tell, right?
I went to the wrong tree first, although it seems I’m not the only one to do that! I had the wrong clothes on, but I managed. It’s still a little wet underfoot here but I made my way to the other tree and spotted the cache straight away.
At first I thought it might be just a bit too high and out of my reach but I climbed up anyway and sat there for a little while admiring the view. It was a bit windy as well but it was beautiful sitting in the tree. I climbed a little higher and stretched my arms out, managing to grab the cache, sign it and put it back.
I had lots of fun here. TFTC

Nice little climb and soon had cache in hand.. once logged I statues to explore a bit. This place seems to be a playground to the locals and why wouldn't it be?? Perfect spot to be outside TFTC
I found myself with a bit of spare time this afternoon so I decided to come out and grab a few of the caches around Lara that I hadn't managed to find yet.
After flunking out at the nearby tree climb cache, I was a little apprehensive about a tree climb created by Na'wal but this was a lot easier than I'd feared.
Thanks

A nice location for your first hide.
However it does need to be replaced as I found the log on the ground.

This was easier than we thought.
Unfortunately the lid has a crack in it.
Currently the log is dry, but so is the weather!
It appears to have been wet in the past.

After spending way too long looking up the wrong tree I spotted it very quickly in the right one! I really need a gps! My phone can never decide where it wants me to go. TFTC there are very few places I’d rather be than sitting in a tree
Looking to complete an unloved challenge up in Melbourne, a DNF on one of the last on my list this morning had me looking for something straightforward and unloved to qualify for the challenge cache. This met the criteria, took a quick trip off the FWY on the way to work. Pulled up at GZ, did my research and picked my target. After a bit of monkey business, no dice. Re-assessed, read a couple of logs and noted that someone had targeted the wrong host initially on a previous find. With this in mind, I scaled an alternate host and quickly turned up what I was looking for. Log signed, returned to the car and resumed my commute to work rather happy that now I can go get my challenge cache. As always, TFTC Na'wal.
What a great start to the incredible hides this CO has contributed to geocaching. We initially started searching in the wrong spot and had a good search before climbing another option and spotting the container easily. Our phone had us 4m away today. Another neat hide. TFTC
Spent an hour looking with the help of a very experienced geocacher, but unfortantely we could not find it. Climbed up and looked in all the trees, but eventually we had to go.
Tricky little hide. Took me a minute or two to locate after my two sense lead me to a likely hiding place
Blends in really well with surrounding environment.
Log book was a tad damp!

Cool - your very first hide: nice! Certainly upped the terrain rating for myself here wearing thongs haha. Cache found, signed and returned no problem though. TFTC
On my first day off of the week I have come to Lara to get as many caches as possible. Found GZ easy enough I didn't find the cache until I read the hint, Oh there it is. TFTC
Very sneaky hide in a smelly area! Need the right shoes for this area! Good fun
Pretty quick find. Out in lara doing some caching for fathers day and now we can add this one to the list. Tftc
We had a bit of a caching fiesta today - both SueHut and myself were coming close to the 500 mark. By the end of the day, neither of us made our targets, but DesHut who joined in half-way hit his 400.
This was a "cache for the kids" - two trying to cram themselves into the location for the find. Thanks heaps, Na'wal!

We have come down to Lara for a family Christmas in July but we had some time to collect some caches as well. I think the cache is a bit smaller than a small and it took a bit of finding. The local dog made sure everyone knew we here on a peaceful Sunday morning.

Found it, An accurate gps reader helps... great fun for kids who love climbing. GeoKids save the day for once, rather than comlaining, "oh maaaaann.... not another one??!!" Small(ish) children... what would we do without them?
Found on an afternoon of caching around Lara with Misscheif18 between events. Happy to have Azz with us to get this one
Found with highrod. So glad to get a smiley for this one as it couldn't be found on my last visit. Mr highrod was able to locate this one. TFTC
not too much of a hard find only took a few minutes, was a wonderful climb without shoes

Cannot actually believe we found it. If it weren't for my newly recruited Geocaching sister, we wouldn't have found it. With perricheeseburger and BeardedHill. Tftc
After attending a CITO event at Avalon Beach this morning and with a third of the family away on holiday, Posho6 and I decided to tidy up the caches closest to our house. These just happen to be in Lara. We ended up with a comfortable tally of 22 for the day. Getting to this cache was fun. Posho6 spied it in seconds but not until within a couple of meters of it.

Wow that was a effort but worth it. Couple of monkey climbs and accurate GPS we (geokids) spotted it. TFTC
Tricky tricky... Needed more time here. Very steep. May try again when more time but for now DNF
Found by Daniel and Lauren after spending the da completing the puzzle series. TFTC
We tried for this one in the past, but the neighbours were out at the end of the street, and curious about our presence, so we left it for another day, and today was finally it. We arrived to find everything quiet at gz and sent the girls with monkey abilities to work. The cache was soon found, the pen passed up and signing was underway. Mum was exploring at the bottom with the little ones, when we heard another car drive up. We looked up just in time to see the van rock wildly, and the shiny dark car take off in a hurry. We have two nice big dints and a large scrape down the side of the bus now. [:(!] Not that it is really a big deal, the bus isn't exactly pretty anyway, but annoying none-the-less. Oh well, something to put in our log! Thanks to Na'wal for the cache!
Picked a cooler day to do this one, in order to avoid any slithering friends. Gps was more or less useless and kept moving around. Found without too much bother, once I moved to the right angle to see it. Could even climb to reach it, despite my inagility in trees. Thx for the challenge Na'wal.
We did some mountain goat climbing here up down, sliding around but unfortunately no luck for us., saw plenty of obvious spots but couldn't come up with the goods.
With The 2 Wanderers today on the way to the event at Serendip. Managed to do lots of clambering and a little sliding (walking stick in tow) , but could not locate this cache today.

After the previous find I walked thru the open field to GZ.
On approach looking at the Garmin it looked like a river and I was on the wrong side.
As it turned out not much more than a dry creek bed at the moment.
A little climbing and I was concerned this could be a needle in the hay stack.
As it turned out, it was a quick find.

So went for a big hint during the night not the greatest one to do during the dark
Found by Mary & David at 1545. Ah! Your very first hide. A lovely spot apart from a yappy dog across the road. Rabbits scattered as we approached, and we don't think we've ever seen so many peppercorn trees in one small area. D is not much of a monkey these days, but managed to retrieve the cache with no dramas. Our thanks to Na'wal.
I am very glad I didn't follow the map, given it said there was a road right up to GZ! It's a fake road, perhaps it is planned, but a little bit of work needs to happen first. A short walk off the track and I spy a likely tree, seems to be the story of the last few days. I checked the best climbing side and ascended to GZ. Nearly slid down into Hovell's creek on the return, but nah that's a little far.
Day 2 of caching in Geelong and the surrounding area. KB was a bit reluctant after a big day yesterday but she soldiered on. The major plans for the day were to attack the You Yangs and any caches we could scoop up along own way. 86 caches for me today and 3 DNFs. Thanks to all the COs for their efforts.

Always the way....a high terrain appears and Jamin has somewhere he has to be. Social service he called it - helping a clearly distressed 80 something year old shovelling yielding local find a tiger snake. Turns out I got the better deal since the tree was very climbable even for me!!! Thanks for the cache.
We were out and about in Lara, and thought we will give this one a shot, after walking in circles trying to spot this one, we finally got a glimpse of something suspicious, yep it was the cache, after a bit of a shuffle and climb we were soon signing the log, I'm always up for a tree climb, thanks for the cache Na'wal.
Out caching around the Geelong and Lara areas finding some caches that we hadn't got to yet, this one popped up on our list. Reading the cache description and a few logs on the way, I had some idea that I might need to practice my monkey skills here. Well I made it to signing the log stage, then I had to get back down - hmm. Which way did I get up here again? I have to say Rob (and Geo-dog) weren't very helpful here! So I survived the trip down the tree with no mishaps, made it almost all the way back to the car the same way.. only to trip over my own feet and end up in the dirt, well rather wet dirt. Oops! Quite happy that Rob was busy putting the dog back into the car and didn't notice! Thanks Na'wal for hiding this cache
Since it is school holidays and we have our Geo-grandkids for the week we took them out today to do some caches around Lara and Geelong, and a few whereigo too.
this cache has plagued us for quite some time... been here and not found previously, but today with the help of the
geo-grandkids we were able to retrieve and sign the log.

Found today whilst on a run to Lara and surrounds with Bogonghazy. When reading the Terrain rating, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to retrieve this, but alas, my fears were unfounded. Thanks to Na'wal for another of your hides today.
Took advantage of the winter sunshine and extended daylight to get out caching with geobuddy BJ. Was a little concerned about hurting myself at this, our fourth stop of the day, but I left BJ at the bottom of the hill and managed to sign the log and return without incident (well, except skidding down the bank a ways on my butt). Find #1273
My caching partner Stemicmitsar and I, headed to Lara for an event this afternoon. After the event, we started caching in earnest before and while heading home to Melbourne.
This was one of the most difficult GZ's I have had to get to. My old, old runners have almost no tread left and so I found myself slipping and sliding down the slope unable to gain traction. [B)] Eventually we made it and then Steve did the honours by ascending to the heavens and retrieving the cache. We signed the log and then slipped and slid our way back to the car.

Out with Darth Briji to put a few smiles on the map around Lara.
Thought it would be a good idea to walk to this one from the nearby cache, I'm glad the local farmer had cleared a path for us or it would've been an interesting walk.

Found @ 11:10pm, find # 3323.
Today biggles1024 and myself headed off on a road trip to Lara to attend the Zesty Food Event at the Lara Hotel. There were a lot of caches to be found before and after the event, this was one of them. When we parked for this one and hopped out of the car, a nearby dog did not seem to be happy as it would not stop barking, anyway we headed over to GZ and with a bit of slipping and sliding we eventually made it up to the cache, the log was signed and we were out of there before anyone decided to investigate as to what the dog was barking about.
Thanks to Na'wal for placing this cache.

Last week I came down to Lara caching with Biggles Bear. There were many caches we ignored as they had already done them, so today I decided I would try to clean up the area. Nice area and a quick find. I wish the dogs would stop barking!

[:(!] After spending the night with friends at Mathoura we are now on our way to Lara to spend some quality time with our daughter and her family, we picked up some caches along the way, this was one of them, parked the geocar as close as possible to GZ and walked in from there, on arrival at GZ the cache was in hand in a matter of minutes.

Another Monday had come around again, this time it was a public holiday, so that gave us more time to cache. My good Mate Roostaman had been staying with me for a few days before he had to head to Geelong, this worked well as we met up with my usual parnter in caching crime TrailRunning, We had a great day/night of caching, lots of walking and riding with lots of good times. Thnaks Na'wal for the cache.
Rebel Acts, Roostaman and I decided a cache run to Geelong was on the cards for the Public Holiday. Given Roosta was staying in Geelong it was an ideal plan. Rebel and I have been collecting caches recently in this area but there are still many more to do. It was a warm day with the occasional threatening rain but yet it was still ideal for caching. Lots of laughs and plenty of walking. Thanks to all the CO's for their efforts. Easy find. Easy find now the cache is there!
# 7728 Found on the 7th leg of our S.K.I.D.R.O. adventure.
Met up with Rebel Acts and Trailrunning once again for another great adventure on a quiet Public Holiday. As TR said it was warm but with the occasional sprinkle and threat of more rain, and yet it was still a perfect day out. As usual with these 2 there was much to laugh at and some very good hides found. We got a good start on the bike trail before the day came to an end.
Not many muggles around and a quick find on most of them. Yes it is there now.
Thanks for the cache Na'wal,
Roostaman.

Having taken the day off I'd planned to grab some caches in the Geelong North area, and was happy to hear that Rebel had also taken half a day off. Meeting at the end of the Eastern Freeway we headed over the Bolte and Westgate to gain access to the rich rewards of an un-visted and un-plundered area. We had a great day of caching with my tally 60 Finds / 2 DNF's. This was one of the DNF's. We searched for some time, but we are convinced the cache is missing.

My days caching started a little later than usual due to the shift in daylight savings. Square Pegs and I decided to head West on a variable Spring weather day that included fine patches to wind to torrential rain later in the evening. This was a quick find with accurate co-ordinates, I like that.
