Staying at the free camp in Kilkivan tonight. Great friendly little town. (Except for the cranky man at the Antique Shop). Tftc.
Thanks this was a great spot to view the town. No visit by the neighbours dog which our dogs would have enjoyed. Maybe next time.
Found with Peppa on a day caching around Kilkivan. Thanks for the cache youngoldfella
Our regular playmate is off getting her theatrical fix in Sydney, so Beardman75 and I have had to find our own entertainmentWith a couple of target caches were driving the backroads of Kilkivan and surrounds in the Venn Vagon as Renaldo just wouldnt cut itThanks youngoldfella
I love squeezing every last second out of public holidays which usually combine with RDO's at work. So, with a 4 day long weekend in the offing, a few weeks ago I reviewed my adventure wish list and decided that a solo hike of Carnarvon Gorge and specifically Battleship Spur would fit the bill.Viko Cz subsequently messaged me to say he was back in Australia for business for a few weeks and had some weekends free for a geocaching adventure, and was also keen to visit Carnarvon. On Anzac Day, we travelled from Roma to Carnarvon and hiked out to Big Bend, visiting as many of the side attractions as we had time for including Boolimba Bluff. On Friday, we climbed Battleship Spur in the morning and then spent a lazy day enjoying the gorge at Big Bend. Yesterday, we got an early start and hiked back down the gorge stopping at the Moss Garden along the way. After visiting Mickey's creek Gorge, we finally hit the road, stopping at the Rolleston pub for lunch, before collecting some caches around Moura and Theodore, before an interesting Saturday night at the Cracow pub.Heading for home now, and being short on time we are only stopping for a selected few caches along the way. Not certain why this one was unloved, but we thought it deserved a visit. Quickly found and all in good order. TFTC YOFPeteFind #7,896 @ [13:46]
#5750 [13:46] our extended weekend with crookedpete is ending, the main mission "exploring carnarvon gorge" is over and now we're heading back to brisbane via a bit of side road to enjoy more of local country side and more caches and this was one of them. thanks a lot of placing it here, it's always good to have some reason to stretch legs during long drive.
Our journey south begins, somewhat reluctantly as we have been enjoying the warm weather and we know it is still cold and wet in Victoria.
It was only a short journey from Maryborough to Kilkivan but some well placed caches with good parking enabled us to collect caches on the way. There was only one we had to pass as we could not find a place to pull up. Lots of traditionals, but good sizes and in great condition.
On arrival at Kilkivan we set up camp and had some lunch before heading off to complete the Adventure Lab in town. Then is was off up one of the trails on Mudlo Road through the National Park and beyond. Some great countryside and worth the trip. Again good sized caches in the main in good condition. We got to use our TOTT we are becoming more proficient with but missed one that seemed to be gone.
A big day again, so we both should sleep well tonight!
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache youngoldfella.

Last day for two TASSIES in and around Kilkivan. So we thought we would come into town to log caches for the last two days and have another little sortie not too far out.
Did a few on the trails set up for a previous event, but this one is in a quiet out of the way location, where only geocachers would go. Had this one in hand and signed in good time.

Oh, what's this a yof hide from 2013, i'll have to go have a look.
Riding the bike here was fun.
With a two terrain?
But that other one was...
*scratches head*
A quick find after i got close enough to the snake holes.
Thank you youngoldfella for taking me to the towns water. Eep, under two metres!

We would not have known about this area without there being a cache here! Tftc pb1973
Whilst waiting for Out There Cycling to come and collect us, our bikes and our chariot (trailer) to drive us back to Walkuraka Station we decided to duck out and grab a couple of Kilkivan caches. We had arrived yesterday after riding for 10 days along the BVRT, link trail and KKRT (rail trails) from Ipswich to here. This was the third cache for today. Mrs EMC sensibly decided to wait outside the last house. Mr EMC rode up. Chikinlittle half rode and half walked up. Chikinlittler walked up. They were up there for ages not sure what they were doing as they all came down and said it was a quick find. Can't grumble as I was too lazy to walk up there! TFTC.
Passing back through Kilkivan on our way home after the Goomeri pumpkin festivities, having stopped here a couple of days ago on the way out west. Made our way up to the tank in question and soon located the said rocks. Very weedy but finally made the find, another big type of a particular trade. Someone must have some plumbing connections.

After a big day of caching yesterday and a good night sleep it was time to do it all over again. The plan today was to grab some caches along Mudlo road and get a couple of ftf’s. Same team as yesterday and Willis007 offered to drive, we also had a new inclusion, 4Hawkers joined us today. A fun morning and a lot of chatter along the way as these three girls can talk alot, lol.
The trip was entertaining, the variety of caches was nice and they were all found in good condition, the scenery was varied and spectacular along this road; what an awesome area, thank you.
Thank you to all the CO’s for placing caches along this road, I really enjoyed the drive along here and finding your caches.
This was the last one of our morning caching and its time to head back to camp and recharge the batteries literally, lol.

Day 2 of the New Year event at Kilkivan. Having a wonderful time meeting new cachers as well as catching up with some old faces.
Today Ms Maddy, TripleTurmoil, CHAMAD and myself piled into the car and headed out for some new caches, and to collect some oldies. There were a couple of things which happened today, these will remain firmly implanted for quite a while to come. These events added to a super fun day with great caches and fantastic company.
This was a quick find, log signed, cache replaced as found.
Thanks YOF for the cache.

With my original plan for the day canned I looked for something else to do in the area. Not at all where I planned to be, but the Adventure Lab here caught my eye.
I almost gave this one a miss. I was not enthused about hunting in rocks, but it was a nice easy find thanks. [^]

Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that I can claim the finds.
I found your cache with my Dad, Oddiewan and most of the time, Semik. I am way behind on logging so learned how to use templates so I can catch up. Sorry this is not a detailed log, but I will do better with my logging now that I have the ability to log caches on a mobile phone. Thanks for the cache youngoldfella
I found this cache on my Xmas 2019 trip to Queensland however it didn't log automatically from my GPS when I synced it so I am logging it this way.
Thanks for a great caching experiance.
Logged as "Moneydork" before I changed to my new geocaching name "Triggerfish".

Geocaching with my main squeeze, Oddiewan, my best friend, Moneydork and Oddiewan's sons BitternA4 and occassionally Flash_Cat (he bowed out about halfway, but I didn't mark where we took him back to camp) Oddiewan was on a mission and achieved his 400th and 500th finds on this caching trip. I was happy just to see his excitement of reaching his next milestone.
Catching up on some logging for the last day of the year while hunting for caches out of the Kilkivan area with ilook4geo. This was one of the caches we found on a day that started out with fine misty rain. That soon cleared up and the hunt went on. All logs were found to be in good condition, as were the containers. Thanks go to youngoldfella for this cache placement.
Today started out a bit cooler, so it was cache hunting time again with goingplaces2. Found a good selection around Kilkivan to add lots more smileys to the map. Log was signed, job done! TFTC.
2019-2020 New Years catch up.
My first New Years event. Spending this time with new friends and old. What a way to see the year out and the new one in.
Caching buddies for this trip are Semik, Money Dork and BitternA4.

TFTC. Day 3 of our caching trip away from our Bundaberg housesit. We shifted camp from Goomeri to Kilkivan where we are camped at Weir Oval. The route today was to go out on Muldo Road and then stop and relax, but that never happened we kept going . Had a great day 43 attempted and found. Thanks to the COs for helping us to enjoy the area. All caches were relatively quick finds.

Drove up from Canberra to Caloundra, to stay with my parents for the Christmas school holidays.
While I was up here I also went to Kilkivan for the New Year Cache Up event/weekend.
This was the second day, and second long list of caches, and again - I headed out with Grannysmith1947 (and her Geodog - Millie), and we were also joined by Selvagirls in her vehicle as well ... (so we were a rather short convoy? lol)
TFTC - I think it was at the end of today that Grannysmith drove up here for me to find this (she had already found it) but it may have been a day or 2 earlier ... but I know I found it ... I remember the jungle of tall weeds that I didn't need to walk through, but did - lol

Monday. At an event hosted by Sweet-Sour and by Youngoldfella. Out chasing some more caches, and although this one wasn’t part of the event, it was on the way and looked good to me! The arrow was doing it’s thing like it was at the burmuda triangle so the hint was very much appreciated. Found a beaut little spider above GZ too and so took some pics. The wind was blowing it around a little bit and it was getting a crazy ride on it’s web but managed to get in a couple of good snaps in amongst the swinging in the wind. Found the cache nicely tucked away. Lots of ground covering here with the long grass, so kept an eagle eye out for anything slithery!
This was the 3rd of 10 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***youngoldfella***, for showing us this place.

I had the morning with time to spend while Mr bushedtwo was off cycling the local rail trail track. Decided to stretch the legs and walk up the hill and take in the view while making the find. Thanks youngoldfella.
Found - it survived the bush fire...looking a bit black around cache. Found with Brissy Cat - her 50th geocache! And she picked up a great TB/trackable...add a beer bottle cap from everywhere the TB/trackable travels to.
Found with elina-maree while camping in Kilkivan with the kids. Kids found the cache quickly. This is my 50th cache so i took the trackable to celebrate! TFTC!
Took a detour on our way back to pack up camp. Nice little find in the area. This cache is in good condition.
