Found this classic old guy guarding a REALLY cool mock-up town near a cache called "The Lonely Bull" by Dear Dora and Atrus in Henderson County of NC. The guy who owns all this property has a hobby that he's been working on for some years now, and he's really done a fantastic job!! His little corner of "reality" is called the Puncheon Camp Creek Campground, and according to the gentleman's wife, he travels the country buying up antique pieces of Americana to properly stock his own personal ghost town. Local word has it that several times per year he opens up his property for family reunions, and the occasional summer BBQ gathering for friends. It is TRULY amazing what this guy has done, and I kinda liked hugging an Indian!!

This is Big John, about 30 ft tall/6000 lbs. He is at Cape Coral Town Center Shopping Plaza, Cape Coral. FL.
When he was installed in 1969, he held two grocery bags representing Big John's Grocery Store (no longer in business). He has survived a "head failure" and as a reward for embarassments such as being dressed in Halloween costumes etc., he was declared a citizen of Cape Coral.

Thanks for the cache ... Tom and Chickie

SUPERLAMBANANA, LIVERPOOL, UK
This is an unusual advertising icon as it started life purely as a statue/monument. The City of Liverpool then 'adopted' it as an advertising icon for "Liverpool City of Cuilture - 2008" and even sell minature porcelain replicas in its Liverpool08 shop. See thier website at http://www.liverpool08.com/08Shop/Souvenirs/superlambanana.asp (Superlambanana Limited Edition : Specially commissioned version of the Superlambanana to celebrate Liverpool as European Capital of Culture 2008)
The (Super) Lambanana is one of Liverpools most hated and most loved public monuments. It was designed by Taro Chiezo, is about 5m high and 6m long, being hollow wioth an outer layer of glassfibre, and stands as witness to the perils of genetic engineering. Its a lamb at the front and a banana at the back, and is of course yellow in colour. Copied from a small plasticine model (hence the 'pinched out' ears) it now stands on the corner of Tithebarn Street and Vauxhall Road at the listed co-ordinates. The Liverpool08 shop (called The 08Place) is located on Whitechapel and is at co-ordinates N 53 24.374 W 002 59.292.

In 2005 the City of Winnipeg, Manitoba developed a mascot theme called Bears On Broadway. The individual bears were sponsored by different organizations and decorated accordingly. Many bears were put on display on Broadway Street and then, at the end of the event, were dispersed to various places. We found this one at the Winnipeg Airport when we flew into town on a visit. This bear was called "Amelia Bearheart Visits Stevenson Field".

This Cache is a Fiberglass bull outside of a estate in Cortlandt Manor, N.Y. U.S. There used to be two of these bulls off this very busy road but the town made them take one of them down due to the high number of car accidents, everyone from the area would drive by and see these hugh bulls when they would go around the corner not paying attention that someone could be in front of them. Everyone I know was talking about them. Thanks for the cache I had a wonderful time and I had to show this great bull to everyone.

I would like to share these with you. These are certainly unique. They were put here by persons unknown & appear to be made by some kind of fiberglass wrap. They have been written up in the local papers and as far as I know the artist is still a mystery. The unknown phantom is a true artist because his work is very good. This is why they have been allowed to stay put.
They are set at the old New York Central RR Station in downtown Syracuse, NY. The station has been closed for years but now houses a 24/7 NEWS TV Station.
The RR bed was elevated thru the city. It was converted to what is now I690 thru the city of Syracuse. The only way to view the lifesize fiqures is to travel west on 690. As you can see they were difficult to photograph because I had to do it going 50 MPH past them. There must be 5 to 7 of these statues on the platform. .... All Aboard!!!
As far as frozen in time, they are passengers waiting for the train that'll never arrive again.
