WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 54 - Bunbury to Fremantle via Mundijong. I did some roadside caches along the highway before it became freeway. I had two more counties on the radar, so I took a bit of a detour and found a fantastic little village Mundijong. From there it was back on main roads and from Armidale it was all built up. I tried a reserve for some series caching, but it was very hard going off trail and I struggled. After setting up, I headed into Fremantle itself for dinner and then I went for a bit of a walk and managed three more before heading home for the night.Things started smoothly with several finds before things started getting difficult. The main problem was getting back on the road as the traffic got heavier all morning. Thanks for the cache dimor47863.8 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Tracks A#100**Albida**
Taurus Six and I have taken an extra day off work for the long weekend so we can meander our way to the Perth Hills where we will spend the three days . Great weather for ducks today not that we are complaining however because there certainly has not been much rain of late and we definitely need it. A leisurely start had us at the Crooked Carrot for brunch before hitting the highway. Our aim was to collect straggler caches in the Peel and Murray areas before switching back to the South West Highway via Lakes Road geocaching along the way . All in all a fantastic day exploring and geocaching and we are not totally wet .This was our third cache find of the day . We doubled back onto this after visiting Yunderup . This is one that has been on the radar for a long time , the grass is now short and the snakes are in hibernation therefore a perfect time to collect the geocache . We parked up near gz and soon had cache in hand . Thanks for the cache dimor .
Had a lovely lunch and catch-up with the kids and we were on our way back when I started to feel a little drowsy so I pulled in the rest area to take a break and stretch my legs and what do you know, there's a cache here. My wife looked a bit skeptical when I said that and thought I had planned it. Anyway it was a quick find and we were back on the road again all refreshed.

After grabbing a couple of nearby caches on this beautiful sunny morning we decided to stop and grab this on our way past. Once at ground zero Leega made quick work off the hunt and we soon had our names on your log. We had to wait for a few cars to re-enter the long weekend Monday traffic coming back from down south before we could returned your cache back to its place of hiding. TFTC baffle.
Found with axell33 on a nice quick park- n - grab. Such a cool hiding spot here! So many cars today at the end of a long week end! Thanks for the hide here baffle.
On deployment down to Margaret River to undertake a bushfire support role. This morning, given the favourable fire conditions yesterday afternoon and overnight we were stood down. Had the opportunity to nab a few caches in the spare moments available on the return journey. This was one of them!
Pulled over for a quick find. Hard to find a gap to jump back into traffic afterwards, but I made it work. Cheers dimor!

Final morning in Pinjarra before going home, out early to get some hides.
A nice variety of hides and caches. Generally quick finds, thanks CO’s for putting out the hides and maintaining.

Heading home from a camping / photography weekend down at Herron Point. Took the opportunity to stop off at a few caches on the way, including this one Bay was empty so parked up right at the end to also provide a little cover at GZ. Area very waterlogged but was just able to pick a path through without getting in too much of a mess. Spotted the cache tucked away - looked like it had been flooded but the log inside was thankfully nice & dry All ok here today, a nice quick find. TFTC
After chasing a couple of FTF’s nearby I stopped here on the way home and was able to make a quick find.

I woke up the the new cache notifications from the previous night and didn’t think too much of it as they’ve been out for hours.
Started getting ready for the day and decided to actually check and was surprised to see no found logs yet so loaded them into the watchlist, plugged in the maps and hit the road.
The drive down as the sun was rising and starting to lift the fog reminded me of driving my dad to the airport years ago and I enjoyed the empty roads and solitude.
With caches found successfully I turned for home pleased with my morning efforts.

Thanks dimor for placing this cache for me to find, this is find number 3083 for me.

Never trust a hungry dog to watch you food- unknown wise person.
I was looking in the wrong area, mum spotted it but couldn’t retrieve it. Me being the good daughter I am completely ignored her and told her she was in the wrong spot.
Eventually I made my way to where she was and was able to easily retrieve it.

Fifth and final find in rest stops on a drive from Dunsborough to Perth. Thanks for the cache.
Thank you! Went on a mini overnight camping trip to Bunbury and surrounding areas.
On my way home I couldn't resist stopping for just one more cache.

Had to head to metro for a medical appointment so called in and check on this one.
Thanks to familysteiner for letting me know what and where cache was as different from when I found it years ago.
I have added a hint to help cachers access the cache.
Remember if you do not sign the log you do not claim the find, simple really

Found this with geodog Max on a beautiful day out. Description states mint tin and glad to see it wasn't. Given a fave for this as I liked how it was done Tftc

Found by GeoDaughter on the way home from WAGB 2018. Thanks for replacing the cache and log Tessplus3. TFTH Rudi63!
Quick find with IQ0 as cache is on ground level. As with previous finder, thought it may have been magnetic and needs a new one. Have placed back as found. TFTC baffle.
Firstly, apologies for the lateness in logging.
Despite my tardiness, you can be assured I enjoyed each and every cache found and not found.
Apologies if this is a generic log, my memory is good, but not that good.
This was found on a great trip to WA from Vic
Thanks baffle

I took a few detours and extra stops on my trip from Dunsborough to Perth today. It was the perfect opportunity to discover some of the caches that I so often drive past. No problems finding this one. Container and log remains in good condition. TFTC baffle
Nice quick find here but unfortunately the last cache for today as I still had a few stops to make and a long way to go and now short on time. TFTC # 11,372
On our way back from Burekup so we decided to find a few geocaches along the way.

This was our second full day of caching from our base at Mandurah, a number of the caches we found, belonging to cache series, which seem to be a feature of this part of WA. Others highlighted the history of the locality, all of them taking us to locations we have not previously seen.
Thanks baffle for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Decided to push the limits and talk hubby into stopping and picking up our 300th on this memorable occasion
It is late and we have enjoyed crabbing with some of our church family
How fitting to see the sign was advertising the Mandurah Crab Fest
Lovely fellowship enjoyed around a meal of crabs and a quick cache to celebrate the occasion

Den Ort besucht und den Cache schnell gefunden. Besten Dank fürs Verstecken und greetings from Switzerland.
Spent the weekend camping at the Leschenault Peninsula Belvidere campgrounds.
This was one of the caches found on the run home.
Started at one end of the sign - and saw the amount of spiderwebs - so the phone camera peeked for me. Got to the cache, and found what was probably someone else's spider stick (have I mentioned I HATE spiders!!) Signed log and put the cache back TFTC.

School holidays is a great time to catch up with family. Which means a visit to South Yunderup. Decided to stop off and investigate the new subdivision on the way and of course grab a cache or 2. This one was on this missing dates list so a must do.Grabbed it from the quiet side street rather than head up the highway. This isn't what is intended and I don't recommend doing it in anything but old clothes due to the barbwire fence (Its been climbed through a few times as its slack in spots). Made it to a quiet GZ and quickly found the cache. All good here. Bonus i made it back to the car unscathed. TFTC baffle
Well this had me baffled. Took me 2 looks and the help of a stick. Felt like every car/truck driver going past was watching me. Souvenired some spider webs. TFTC.
Found it quickly enough. The young bloke gave up pretending to do a #1 while looking
Hi there baffle.
We found your cache **"Sign of the times"** at 1:44:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 14971.
We started the day off by nominating a cache some distance away from our camp site and then took a route that was mostly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area & ended up finding quite a variety of container types, and sizes hidden along our route.
We found 8 caches today & DNF'd 0. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.
