This took me so long and I needed some help from a PAF! Such a clever cache and so much effort has been put into the series. Glad to start the day with a find in the end! Tftc
Thank you to everyone who took the time to visit these caches while enjoying the East-West walk over the past 6 years.
I was particularly proud of this cache.
I was particularly proud of this cache.
If I could give this a dozen FPs I would. After poking around with a stick for a small container of some kind, the location suddenly became very very obvious. for goodness sake I had my hand resting on it at one point without even knowing. The only thing about this cache that isn't awesome is that it doesn't have room for a TB, and its a very TB worthy cache! Many many thanks for placing. I turned round here and went back to my friend. Beautiful walk and lots of photographs.
First visit to the You Yangs in many years . Lovely spot and we had a great day, sighting some Kangaroos, Wallabies, Hawks, and even some wild goats, along with some great scenery and some great caches.
A great cache, Many Thanks ThePacman, worthy of another FP.

This was my last free weekend day whilst Tarbit was holidaying overseas and so a plan was hatched to tackle some caches in the You Yangs with SirJ-Oz. As per usual I did the driving and he did the navigating. Once we realised the Circle Drive was closed to vehicles we altered our original plans and decided to walk this track. A great view of the geoglyph, of which we would find out more about later. Very nice camo here which almost had us fooled before the hide was discovered. This one earns a favourite point from me. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and this series in a great location ThePacman. A hot day today but a lovely walk nonetheless.
Find #4111. Found @ 11:55 with Annoying Tarbit
The plan for today was to visit the You Yangs and surrounds with Annoying Tarbit, and have a day of caching. We didn't count on the Great Circle Drive being closed, so ended up doing (according to my fitbit) almost 20kms of walking for the day. It was a long day with AT collecting me at 8am and I got home again about 10pm.
A while back I supervised a Cub Scout Grey Wolf hike along this trail and had a half hearted quick search for a couple of the caches in this series, but found none of them. Today turned out with much better results.
I had my hand on it but still couldn't find it. It was the more observant Annoying Tarbit that came through for the team. Begrudgingly adding a favourite point for making me look like a buffoon.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.

Never heard of the YouYangs. So we came for a day out whilst house sitting in Williamstown.
I really like granite out crops so enjoying the walk very much.

Out and about today with AaronFilms and Sinornithosaurus doing some hiking around the trails of the You yangs and managed to pick up some caches on our adventure. All in all the day was really fun and we completed the Flinders Peak trail and the East West circuit also, thanks to the CO for placing this series of caches for our enjoyment!! Visited some trackables, #453
So awesome to walk the flinders peak trail and actually see the Geoglyph from so high up, it looks a lot more awesome from above, thanks for this cache!!

Cleverly constructed cache, found one like this on a walking trail beside to north link ring road so figured it out eventually
It's my last chance to walk this track for these caches before our house sit in Lara ends. I'm going to be dodging dog walking muggles the whole way despite the cold and rainy weather. Thanks
Out and about in the You Yangs today with Yetarewethere. We will try to gather in a few caches and have some fun

Easy find this time, funny how a few hundred finds does that.
Log is very beaten up and quite full.

Out for the day to visit the You Yangs and enjoy a bit of outdoor time. After visiting the top, it was time for the circuit. We did it clockwise. Heaps of people about.
Great view of the Eagle from there. It was our geodaughter who quickly (yes quickly) spotted this one. Normally it takes some time before she spots one. Thanks,

Found it straight away even though it was a really well hidden cache. It was just by luck that we saw it from an angle that didn’t look quite right. A favourite point from us. TFTC
A short search ensured with the clever little hide eventually being spotted by geoD. He's pretty sure he used this thing for assistance climbing just a minute ago.

Out for a bit of a walk around the You Yangs with friends today and we have decided to take on the West track around the hill. Again while everyone was resting and looking at the eagle in the distance I went to work looking for this one. Looks like I have saved the best till last. What a great cache this gets a favorite point from me.
What a clever hide. The GPS was right but our eyesight was defective. Almost ready to abandon the search here when it was spotted. Just as well. A fave point here Thanks The Pacman
Out with au.fait, we were tiring or blind. We spent far too long searching for this. About to abandon the search, l said, one last look, and there it was. A marvellous hide, so well crafted. A favourite point. Thanks ThePacman
I was able to spot this one quite quickly, after the fiasco at #2 and considering the quality of the hide. Thanks The Pacman
#2 of 8 - stunning views only interrupted by birds chirping, cicadas, the drone of an aeroplane and buzzing flies! Sneaky hide.
Log book very damaged, unfortunately I wasn't carrying replacements today.
TFTC and apologies for the late log

Found this cache on the way to a new puzzle. Once again a lot of effort put in to the cache. Well Done Pacman.

What a beautiful view. LeeLee in the area for an event later today, I thought I would take the opportunity to get a few caches. After a bit of a false start (geo eyes not working today ) I came to this one. I thought I was going to be defeated again. After reading a few logs and thinking I need to look outside the square, I found it! (I was pleased with myself - LeeLee ) TFTC great hide.
As I had the afternoon to myself I decided to have a go at the East-West Walk and knock off some caches as well. I was a bit dispirited at not finding the first 2, however I paused for a moment to catch my breath, I spotted what could only be the cache. I love these cached hides. I completed the walk was on this very fine afternoon. TFTC.
Sneaky hide. Took me about 3 seconds to find as I'd learnt something about the previous pacman hides I'd seen on the mountain. Sat down and left my friend to look for this one for 5 minutes.
Great cache. All well with cache

Found It.......Found this guy while out on a day hike with our Scout Group. After arriving at GZ the search began and soon we came across a suspicious looking item and sure enough we where rightso with the cache in hand we signed the log and admired the views of Bunjil we moved onto the next one. Thanks ThePacman for the cache
Find #1051
1st time in the You Yangs so started with a walk around the east-west track. The cache series gave us some great spots to take in the flat landscape! coords were all good but some of the climbing was a little challenging at some due to the rainy morning. TFTseries! 3/10

I encountered my fourth group of muggles just after starting from #2 which was perfect as one of them provided the perfect pace for me to sit behind as we climbed the track. I made the mistake of passing them which meant that I had to fake a rest as I searched for this cache not so much because it was a difficult find but because it is in a fairly exposed position vis-a-vis the track and removing the camo to reveal the cache would result in a double take from any muggle in view of GZ.
Great camo and another fantastic view. I wish I had had more time to spend taking it in but because I was to meet up with n0w0rries + Wife for the rest of the day I felt under a little bit of pressure to make the finds and move on. I am, however, tempted to return purely for the views. Another day, perhaps.

A cool breeze and shady spots kept us comfortable on this stretch of the walk. Glad the hard yards had been done with the elevation and it was mostly downhill from here. Stopped for a drink right next to the cache and thought something looked suss... Great work with the camo Pacman. TFTC
Found by Mary & David at 1505. A somewhat longer walk here from #2, but the views were great all the way. Again, took a couple of minutes searching before the penny dropped. Had overlooked it a few times while checking out other possibilities. Earns a FP. The clue here is fading and almost falling off. Stopped here and returned to the car park. Will finish off the series another day. Our thanks to ThePacman.
We are keen geocachers from New Zealand, on holiday here and picking up a few smileys as we go. Lovely weather today for a family walk and what a great place to visit. Delighted to find this cache without scrabbling around. Earns a fav from us and from the local snakes too, as I'm sure they would rather not be hassled by keen cachers... TFTC
Excellent camo - squeezed our name into the log. Tftc and the history on Bunjil - wondered what it was as we scrambled uphill
A bit of a diffcult trek on this side with a bub strapped to you, but some fantastic views of the local area...particular the deep greens and yellows. The view to the rock structure was pretty good too. The construction of the hide was great....looks so natural in the area. Fav point and TFTC
This cache was the best of the series. 30mins was spent here. Fantastic camo. Previous comments helped. Excellent camo. TFTC.
We have been wanting to do this series for some time now, its so close to us but I guess we were just too lazy to get to it.
But today we changed that, in great company topped with perfect weather made this day very enjoyable.
This cache had us walking in circles scratching our heads, until we trusted our coordinates and at 0m we looked and we were very pleasantly surprised at what we found.
A true winner of a favourite point.
Thanks Mr Pacman for the cache.

A ripper cache construction that we almost overlooked. An awesome cave nearby too. Thanks ThePacman, a favourite from me.
Second time lucky, geodog managed to uncover it by chance. Amazing camo!!! TFTC
Out for a mid-winters walk with the GeoKids. The GeoKids were not too interested in searching for this one after #2 took so long, so it was up to me. I think having done the YYCD series around the Great Circle Drive helped spot ThePacman camouflage here. I did step over it once before it caught my eye and of course it is so obvious once spotted.

.. On the way to this cache, we took Mylo off the lead, although it's not allowed , it certainly made it easier for him to navigate the rocks , working out his own best route. The cache here took a very long search, lifting up so many rocks , although only 2 caches today were actually under rocks ! It's so obvious after you've found it, great work, here's you 50th fav point
Headed out for the day and decided to do my favourite walk to see if there were any caches, absolutely loved this trail. Tftc
Lots of caches to find and beautiful views! Catching up on late logs, thanks!

Found it quickly, but only because I was precariously placed over the hiding spot, struggling to get around when my friend noticed that it looked a little strange. Very nice hide.
This one took a while. Did our heads in for a bit, but finally got it. Great spot. Excellent view of Bunjil
How many caches can you find in 3 hours? Dang - not many if all the GCD ones have been taken offline...
So, to tackle the paltry few I missed the other day on the East-West walk (with a quick detour down to Bunjil for that one). A great view of the future cache target. Love your work, Pacman!

VERY WELL CAMOUFLAGED this took a little while and log book is full. Was a good cache!
We were a worried that the last one was a DNF, but geokid managed to find this one, keeping the kids busy during holidays! TFTC!
One of two DNFs on this series today. Perhaps I just hadn't turned my geocache filter in yet.
Here we were a little nervous as the description said that we were looking for a small very well camouflaged container. It indeed took a little while, but all of a sudden I had it in my hand. Literally! Very nicely done.

2 down now and a much easier but longer walk on to #3. Along the way we spotted an Echidna trying to have a quiet nap. We didn't bother him too much just a quick photo and onto #3. I walked past this hide at GZ twice before I realized it didn't look quite right. Signed the log then another selfie and off to #4
We finally made the East-West trek through the You Yangs, with DreamyDragon. As we neared here, we heard some people walking nearby say it looks like a sparrow. Errr, no, it's not supposed to! It looks so little from way up here, I've been down there, it's huge!!! A bit of a scramble to get to this one. We found a cool rock at gz. Press here to be teleported to another dimension!!! We are enjoying the walk so far. Tftc.
We came for a meeting to start work on the south coast event 2016, and couldn't ignore the lure of a couple of caches in an area I haven't been to for many years.
This nicely constructed cache took a few minutes to locate having had my hand on it more than once during the search process.
After this cache we abandoned the track to scramble up the hill side, striking out for the summit cache nearby.

Day 9 of my great Victorian geocaching trip ahead of the Melbourne mega event, and whilst things weren't going so great having ruptured my pectoralis tendon a few days in Bendigo, I figured that even with my arm in a sling, I could still enjoy the wonderful surrounds of the You Yangs and find a few caches.
As I arrived to number 3 in the series, I was grateful for the shade, as the arm was starting to sweat quite a lot wrapped up. I sat under the tree and enjoyed the view and thought about the possibilities of where the cache might be. Having not expecting it to be so well camoed, I started out searching the obvious spots before narrowing in to where I eventually found it. It seems I walked past it twice. Nicely hidden, and a great view to compliment it.
Gratias ThePacman.

What a quick easy find for geomum. We liked this one, what a goodie. Your caches are well thought out. tftc
Pacman you own the You Yangs with your clever hides:-)
Glad to have found this quickly, and even more glad to read I've reached the top: phew!
The Bunjil is amazing!

Over on a quick trip to Melbourne and felt the need for a nice bush walk and having had some experience with ThePacman's talents decided that his You Yang Views series was the ideal solution.
First day of spring, beautiful weather, so recruit muggle sister (to carry lunch) and head for the hill.
Lots of muggles out and about, carpark over half full.
Had a very enjoyable walk around the hill, took a break for lunch half way, then finished time away from the big smoke with coffee next to the carpark. Nice.
And many thanks to ThePacman for another fantastic series in an excellent location, good co-ords, nice hides, what more can I say.
Keep on caching

The scenery of the valley and plain below was amazing! Perhaps equal to the quality of the cache, as indicated by the number of favourite points. It has been awhile since I visited the You Yang's and finding this cache was a reminder of your fantastic creative hides. Looking forward to your session at the MEGA on this topic. Great work Pacman. Favourite from me.
On this pretty cold and overcast day, we have taken our dog for a hike in the You Yangs and found all caches of PacMan's "You Yangs Views" series.

After a walk from #2 Mrs Y'stassie headed to GZ and thought she spotted a great piece of Pacman camo as she neared GZ. Sure enough careful exploration revealed another cleverly hidden container. Log was signed and clue recorded.
She admired the geoglyph below after reassembling the hide.
Thanks ThePacman for another great cache certainly deserves another favorite point.

Awesome! Great camo. Have not been to this side of You Yangs for 30 odd years. Thanks!! Favourite from me
Always the frustrating ones are the most rewarding! Totally caught off guard on this one. Had to go back through some posts to help find GZ. Definitely worth the time! Very smart and unique! TFTC
This is as far as we got with this series some time ago but this time plenty of daylight hours remained. We gave up on this last time but this time, recognising that it must be well camouflaged to get so many favourites, we spotted it quickly. Great hide and definitely worth a fav point. TFTC!
I found it. I hadn't read the previous logs, but I had done some of your YYCD series, so this one brought back memories. My duckling and husband had a great time finding this one and marveled at its construction! Thank you!
[font=Comic Sans MS]Hi there ThePacman. We found your cache "You Yangs Views #3 - Geoglyph" at 12:01:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 10396.

We thoroughly enjoyed our "stroll" around the You Yangs today. While we were doing the walk in an anti-clockwise direction, everyone else seemedto be doing it the other way.
We awarded this cache a favourite point for the ingenious construction.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,

I have been waiting for just the right conditions to tackle these 10 caches and being midweek and about 20 degrees forecast all was ideal. I did my preparation last night noting that I would need clues along the way which were duly collected. The terrain was mixed but easy going with such a good track. the hides were varied and sometimes just plain fantastic.
I had read about the 3rd cache last night so I was prepared for a great hide. I was ecstatic to find it immediately but it shall have a favourite for its construction.
Cheers
