Noticing that this had a recent find on it I wandered in for a look.
Eventually found it to the sounds of falling rain and running water.
A quick exit and back to the warmth of the Geoprado.

Ahhhh yes, no secret I'm a fan of an archive cache. This one was on our to do list from our Mega trip 2 years ago but we didn't quite get there.
I walked up the far bank and happened to meet the gentleman building a killer tree house for his kids. I asked him about the bee hive... He said all the wasps were killed at Xmas last year after they stung all the kids!
This one is a good find.
Cheers Kokatoos

It was pretty muddy and slippery down to the creek and with the difficulty rating and previous dnf I hate to admit that I didn't attempt this one. Had a nice little walk along a path that I did not know existed though.
Did not find this time :/ was a bit tentative to approach swarming bees as that's exactly where coords were heading. Did manage to spot two laughing cache guardians though
Unfortunately when I found it the cache was waterlogged, since the container isn't water-tight. I suspect it's just rain seeping in, so in this location I would recommend a different container. I took the log out and aired it until it was dry, but much of the ink has run so it could also use replacing (and it's actually almost full anyway). Still find-able though!
Finally found this cache after DNF-ing several months ago after a half hour search with a close friend and fellow geocacher. Going solo this time I found it within 10 minutes, leaving me confused as to how we didn't find it the first time around. Thanks to KOCATOOS for showing me this lovely path, and to the bees for leaving me alone (they are quite busy at this time of year, but the cache isn't perilously close to them).
Did a systematic search and found it. Was a fun cache

Looked around a bit near the bottom of the creek bed. A combination of inappropriate footwear, nearby bees, a jumpy GPS and difficult to distinguish satellite view features meant we gave up pretty quickly. We may come back better prepared next time.

This afternoon Pam had her sewing group around, so I was sent caching, such a problem ....
This was find #7 of 7 for the afternoon.
Now this was an effort.
My GPS was bouncing around a bit, and I clambered around looking in all the little nooks and crannies.
I found the bees, but we mutually decided to leave each other alone.
In the end I needed to make a PAF and only then did I find it. It was really jammed in there such that my fingers had run over it without noticing it earlier..
This would be a really nice location if the creek was a little cleaner, but even as it was, I could clearly smell the scent of honey being fanned out from the bees hideaway.
Thanks for placing this cache KOCATOOS

I was determined to look for this today, since I had a DNF last month. With the great sunny weather, I venture out with my gloves and hiking boots.
Low bee activity today and somehow there is a branch poking in the hive. Mother nature told me to leave it alone and so I did. I wasn't brave enough to remove it.
Look around for potential hiding spot and at last I found it. Took the cache out, sign the log and said goodbye to the bees.
ps: there will be people walking and running along the path and they will definitely look down at you, wave at them and make an excuse! I said I was looking at the algae.

Being in the area and having read about this before we decided to head over. We got close to GZ before the slip and slide started and did the bounce over the creek. The GPSr had us in one spot but the geo senses suggested another but before that we had a couple more slips from the recent rains but avoid totally falling into the creek. Once at the spot we wanted to be at we had a bit of a search and made a quick find. TFTC

We didn't have high hopes of getting this micro the first time around on such a tough cache, but figured it was worth a shot. It was good timing with a dry day allowing for easier access. Had a look at the options before starting the scramble and couldn't believe our luck when it was in the second place we searched! Now, off to get a lotto ticket before our luck runs out! TFTC
Introduced a friend to geocaching and brought him here to check it out. Search GZ but no luck. Will have to come back one day for this
Hooray!!! Took me over a year to find the right time to go for this one (I.e. without the kids, the creek low, not too muddy descent, bees inactive, etc etc...). Big relief to tick one off on my local patch. Definitely a favourite!

Found @15:33 #4374
This one has been a challenge and after a previous DNF back in April decided to wait and watch what would happen. Well this week many more found logs were seen so it was decided to have another go. After the attending the 20,000 between us event, team up with ahomburg to hopefully find it. Well today the river was much lower then my previous visit and in the end spotted by ahomburg in a spot I swore I had look at, so close.....!!!! A relief it was now found and a smiley was on the map at last.

After a fun afternoon at the Biggles Bear and Muzza 20,000 Between Us Event, SedgwickDave and I decided to go and give this one another go as it was well and truly time it was off the list. I think this was my 4th attempt and with some luck, finally I have been able to put the smile on the map. A fantastic challenge right here.

Found FINALLY
I have tried to find this cache for a long time, this is my fourth time looking and finally with a tiny hint from a previous finder I was able to locate the crafty cache. TFTC, the hardest cache I've found yet, a challenge but heaps of fun. Thanks again KOCATOOS.

Found today with DAB, ST37E and Glanville Girls. It was all hands on deck for the find as we know it would be tricky. Lucky for us the bees were not a problem and we located the cache. Win, win!! Thanks Kocatoos.
Yay! We bounced down, bounced across and bounced up looking for this one today. It was a very well concealed hide. It was very wet and slippery underfoot today. Thanks for placing. Caching today with McLookers, ST37E and DAB.
What a great little slice of paradise in suburbia this area is. A beautiful walking track, right beside a scenic little creek. Luckily the bees weren't a problem today, too cold for them ?? A hassle free retrieval, so relieved not to bounce into the creek !! TFTC KOCATOOS
We knew this one wasn't going to be easy & we were right, after searching around for about 40mins we were about to give up when Janeo said to check in a spot & there it was.

We have had this one on our watch list for quite some time as it is needed for our DT Matrix chart and was our only good option for this combo. With all the DNF's we were put off the hide and thought we would wait for owner maintenance or a find. After the recent finds we thought we would have a shot at it ourselves. We thoroughly searched for at least 20 minutes looking in all nooks and crannies until the male Triton called "I've got it" . Thankfully that wasn't as hard as it could have been and the bees were not interested in helping the search today.
Thanks KOCATOOS for a great challenge and the cache.

Out and about puzzle collecting today with Jamin Appleford. Despite blizzard like conditions forecasted only had an hour or so of rain!
I had this one on the hit list as for it's DT. A recent find encouraged me to try it out. after nearly 1 hour of crawling around we almost gave up...until JA made the find! Stoked!
Few hazards here, including bees and i feel in the creek which stinks and had wet feet all day. Life of caching! Cheers

With the weather forecast getting worse day by day Jacko83 decided to put off riding around Woodlands and plan something by car instead. We came up with plan for picking off Melbourne puzzles and challenge caches, with the odd teas and multi here and there. Setting out at 530am with a list and a route we made our way from Kew, to Surrey Hills, to the botanic gardens, and across to Albert Park, then down through St Kilda and Elwood before finishing further south in Sandringham. Yep it was a big day out and an enjoyable one as well.
The puzzles were great, the hides interesting, and the challenges worthy .
Thanks to all the COs for their efforts!
This one took a while to locate but finally spotted the little sucker in a spot where Jacko fell into the creek earlier. Took about 50min but big smiles on our dials at the end!
No bees were harmed, they were peacefully doing their thing far enough away.

I tried this one ages ago and with the DNF lately I really didn't want to go out today to find this one.
But I was in high spirits today after doing geo-jas reverse cache,
I found myself around the similar place as last time but the area was more drier which allowed me to be more confident in climbing around the area,
Thanks KOCATOOS [:x]

Been here before over a year back and it is as unfindable now as then. No wasps or bees but a silly place to put any cache. Should be retired.
Having found "The Cache Between Caches"...which doesn't seem to be between caches anymore...I wandered up to this one. I really didn't read any of the details until I got here...and when I did I could see that I had some problems ahead.
Still, it was a cool and cloudy day so I thought the bees would be rather quiet so i decided to give it a try...until I discovered that the bees are not bees, they are WASPS...much meaner and nastier so I decided it wasn't worth the risk of taking them on and it was time to leave.
Maybe the next time I am over this way...we will see!

Well after a 90min search and even a PAF from a previous finder this just couldn't be found. Active bee hive at what may be actual GZ could only get to within 2m as any closer seem too risky of being stung. Very keen to find this one but will need watch for now. There were signs of recent flooding and am wondering now if the cache may of been swept away? Thanks for the hunt anyway.
We have put a new log as the other one was full. We also had to move the cache to a new spot as the last spot was destroyed. This made it very easy to find. It is still very close to where it was before but hopefully is back to being as difficult to find as it was to begin with.

This was going to give us a new square on our D/T board, but alas - twas not to bee... Miss A climbed up and gave it all she had. But it wasn't enough. The bees flying around were more than a little unsettling, even though we could see where their main hive was. So Mr A came in for the kill, but also to no avail. We regretfully left, no cache for us here today.
Walked past this on the way to the other cache and decided to wait before giving it a go. We quickly spotted where the bees were and made note to avoid them. We then made our own ways down to G.Z. before I started to do some climbing and spotted the cache. Climbed some more to then retrieve it and sign the log. Found with Ryanofoz. TFTC (Not sure if there should be all the photos of the cache on the page)
Located the 2 bee hives nearby, zipped my jacket up to face and found a path down to the GZ ready for the hunt. Wasn't keen on putting my hands in dark places but after a little search Fuzzej retrieved the cache.
I think for a Difficulty 4 cache some of the previous photos should be removed.

Searched 4 trees and was discouraged when I saw quite a few bees around all of them...
Didn't really get a chance to search, as a bee stung me on approaching GZ, so I quickly hotfooted it out of there before any other bees got the chance to join in the fun. Might return on an evening when bees are less active, to search properly for this one. In the meantime, I am keeping an eye on the sting, right on my nose, no swelling yet so maybe he didn't get a chance to inject any poison. fingers crossed.
Suscoe's 11th find of the day, a very sunny day with a warm breeze.
We were out and about in the inner eastern suburbs today.
A delightful walk along the trail and then the descent.
A short bit of searching while giving the bees a wide berth soon turned up the cache.
Log signed and we think another D/T square was sorted for us here.
Thanks to KOCATOOS for placing this cache, a pretty place in a city sort of way.

We approached this cache from the north and descended to the required location with some scrabbling. My geohubby took it upon himself to become a climbing machine - he scaled one tree, another, a fallen this, a broken that. That isn't quite so impressive until I mention that he came after work in work shoes and is all 6ft6 of limbs and gangliness. In the end, lying prone, he came upon his quarry. I think he's quite happy with himself. TFTC KOCATOOS.
#436 a nice cache
I came to this cache as I had a uni exam at Deakin in the morning and he some time to kill before the event nearby. I approached GZ and got to the right area fairly easily. Took me a few minutes to find but eventually got it. Signed the log and replaced the cache. After a few photos, I took off for the next one 'cache between caches'
Was expecting it to be a bit harder as per d/t rating but I didn't mind

I researched this cache a bit at home before we set out today. This helped a lot. Arriving at GZ i wondered where exactly i was supposed to go. A little wondering lead me to the behive, i quickly retreated and chose the other option. I quickly found the cache as i knew what i was looking for. found with megwilson TFTC.
Walked along this trail many times and didn't realise there was a geocache. The cache wasn't too hard to find after having head the previous logs TFTC!
I was in the area this afternoon and decided to find a few caches nearby. This was one of them. A nice pleasant stroll to GZ, and then the searching began. After about five minutes I found the nicely hidden cache and signed the log before returning it to its hiding spot. A nice peaceful location too. Thanks for the cache.
The bees were certainly active this morning. I edged cautiously past them. Not too long before I am signing the log. A lovely spot. TFTC.
Jumped off my bike to attempt this cache. The creek looked low so i would have had an easy time getting over there. But then a kindergarten group arrived and stopped to look and talk about the creek land right on top of me. So i had to give it a miss. Back again soon i hope.
Had a good hour before my first meeting at work this morning so detoured to see if I could score this cache. Been here a few times before but each unsuccessful.
Parked nearby and on my jog to the cache, received a text that said my morning meeting head cancelled. Score!!
So sat down on the path, read description once again, read comments from previous finders and armed with instructions, hints and clues proceeded down to GZ. The creek was running fast due to rain last night but not too high.
Began my search and within a minute, as I was halfway across the creek, belly down on the moss I spotted it! EUREKA! Reached into its hiding hole to grab it... That's when everything went pear shaped...
Already being nervous of lying over a creek, not too comfortable balancing on a log and paranoid of bees, my hand lost its grip on the container and plonk, it fell into the fast moving stream!! Oh crap! I scrambled to get down, almost lost balance but thankfully didn't fall in. However my pen wasn't so luck and it went into the creek. Didn't matter as my mission was to save the cache!! Glanced over my shoulder and saw the cache in the middle of the current moving fast. I looked downstream, saw a bottleneck where the creek was narrowest and ran to intercept the cache, all the while grabbing a stick I could use to fish the cache from the water.
Full of adrenaline, I arrived at the bottleneck and prepared myself for the greatest cache rescue of my geocaching life... when suddenly... No cache!?!?! What happened to it? Looked further downstream to make sure it hadn't gone past... Nope.
Walked slowly upstream, my eyes scanning and then bingo. It had caught on some reeds on the OTHER side of the creek. Two new plans began to formulate in my mind. Take the shortest route by crossing the creek and in the process get completely wet... that would be the heroic & sacrificial thing to do. Alternatively go the long way round, cross downstream at the bottleneck and edge my way back along the narrow bank. I chose wisdom and went with the second option.
The bank was covered with low ground cover so had no idea where I was putting my feet but slowly made my way to the cache, often using the sheer rock cliff as support. Used a branch to fish the cache out and finally had the cache in hand.
Phew! As the adrenaline slowly subsided in my system, returned to the path, sat down and opened the cache and checked the log to ensure it was okay. Thank goodness it was waterproof. No pen to sign (not sure what happened to it) so I took a photo of it.
Well thanks for the adventure. Thought I'd share it with you all. Reckon I might head to a nearby cafe for a double shot of coffee. Goodness know this hero needs one

Must still be on old time as I marked the log 4th Oct instead of 5th. What a cache, the creek was running high and fast due to the torrential rain. I spent the first period checking out trees and getting too close to the bee's nest, although thankfully they were not interested in me and left me alone. Happy for that as I got my first bee sting geocaching in the UK and it took 9 weeks for the redness to disappear. Eventually realised I had to get wet, just don't fall. Made it and started hanging under trees and climbing around etc and then bang it has to be it, but even that had a further twist before I could sign the log. It wasn't over yet as the hill climb to the pathway was still to be completed. Yea, coffee before anything else, great coffee shop around the corner. Favourite from me and TFTC.
Found at 4:16 PM with sunhalo. Came down to Melbourne for work and to attend the Grand Final between the Sydney Swans and Hawthorn Hawks. Despite the disappointing result yesterday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, there is always caching to keep spirits up. I had short listed a number of caches in the greater Melbourne area to help me get closer to completing my Difficulty & Terrain and Jasmer challenges, as well as some Old School geocaches. Sunhalo decided to join me to take advantage of the warm but windy weather and explore some other parts of the State. We drove north from the city towards Reedy Creek to attempt Melbourne's 1st geocache and add another Old School cache to my finds. From there it was on to Middle Gorgeous Views, Adelaide Mountain and then Around the Bend to fill some holes in my Jasmer challenge grid. Next was the intriguing Unexpected, which has one of the highest number of favourite points in Victoria, and then onto our final cache for the day, which was to be Bounce on the creek to help me fill in a missing space on my Difficulty and Terrain grid. We parked the car at the end of the street and made our way along the designated foot path before having to veer off down the embankment. Once at Ground Zero, it took some time and careful searching to avoid the bees who had built a hive in one of the trees, but we soon had the Cache In Hand. We Signed the Log and Took Nothing, Left Nothing. Thanks For The Cache KOCATOOS.
Surprisingly easy find, wasn't going to try too hard with the terrain rating, and the bee next, but was successful
The D/T rating intrigued me so we checked this out. I wish I could say I enjoyed this cache but no I didn't like the location (thank goodness it was a calm sunny day, not much water/mud/trash running down the drain). Dodging one bees nest and possibly a second right above GZ I timidly took the container, signed, and departed. I have a rare claim to fame that I have never been stung by a bee (to the best of my knowledge) and didn't want to find out whether I am allergic or not.
Thanks anyway Kocatoos. I'm sure others enjoyed it more than us

Very difficult!! it got dark and we had to go but it was really fun looking for it but we found the bee hive though
Tricky spot! Make sure you wear closed toe shoes to this one, will be quite muddy and involve some rock scrambling!
Great hiding took a long time to get. Don't trust your gps and make sure you cross the creek.

A very difficult spot. I found this with McWillid and it took us more than 20 minutes to find. A very good and challenging cache. TFTC!

YEs I admit it. The only reason I went for this cache was the unique D/T combo however with the little creek and all the green it was actually quite a nice cache location The cache itself wasn't too hard to find - I just followed the instructions on the cache-page.
Thanks and cheers

With a couple of days off work I have been out for a mornings (or days) caching with gmj3191 in the southern suburbs and around Port Melbourne chasing some D/T tiles.
Having been here the other day I had a little head start but still had to recheck where I had been. This time I had my GPSr and so the field was a bit narrower. After rechecking all the past haunts I started from a slightly different angle and bingo, there you go. Nice hide.
Thanks for the cache KOCATOOS

Out for a couple of caches after work, actually I was after the caches on either side but all I got was the one in the middle.
I came, I saw, I bounced, but I didn't find nuffin. I did find some likely spots but all were barren and with light starting to fade it was time to call it a day. 1 for 3 will have to do today.

This was a very convenient cache for me as my grandma's house actually backs onto the creek. So, when i was over there with my mum, i snuck out the back for a bit while they drank tea or something like that. I went out the back, over the fence, walked a along a bit, climbed down a tree and was soon in GZ location. I am extremely scared of bees so i made it a priority to avoid them. Thanks for the adventure and a good way to escape grandmas
Easter Sunday, lovely autumn day in Melbourne. Went for a lovely walk/geocache with the "in laws" who are new to caching! Found 2 out of 3 (and learnt that the 3rd one is offline-which explains why we couldn't find it!!). TFTC
This was challenging but fun, what a cute little hidey-hole. The creek area was just so tranquil, what a great little place hidden in the burbs of Melbourne!

Found with lana and my parents. Awesome hide. Pretty tricky, had to get acrobatic to get to it. Bees are still there.
The best cache ever!!! Too bad I don't have any favourite points left because this one definitely deserves one. TFTC
Dunko and I found ourselves with an opportunity for some late arvo and evening caching today.
So after collecting Dunko we set off, along our route we found all caches we attempted without any issue, logged them and replaced as found. We enjoyed the types of hides and cache’s some we had to wait a short time for people to move on but that’s how it goes.
Our thanks to KOCATOO'S for the effort and placement TNLN SL

Slink1 and I found an opportunity to sneak out for some late in the day caching. So after mounting up we set off on our way to pick up a few in the local area. We were fortunate enough to find all caches we attempted without too much difficulty, logged and replaced them as we found them. We had a great outing and enjoyed the fun. TNLN TFTC SL.
Out for a drive today as we had no other commitments for a pleasant change! Discovered the bees first and decided that's not where the cache would be with our fingers crossed. We certainly set off the neighbouring poodle, it was yapping away and getting into trouble. Gratefully the Chief soon had cache in hand and we were on our way leaving yappy dogs in our wake. A lovely spot. TFTC
No bees today, a very quiet spot which I did to the cache fairly quickly. Thanks KOCATOOS.
This one sounded an interesting find so I was keen to crack it but no luck.... A headache got me in the end - will need to come back another time!
when i finish work at blackburn south on the way i play dart at noble park so on the way i would not find because of wasp every where maybe had beehives
