Mrs Woodyrothwell and I had come to Benalla for a visit on our holiday. We were staying in Wangaratta and try to either visit a cellar door or different town each day. We were on our way out when we decided to stop for this hide.Back on the main road out of town we could see there was a breathalyzer crew setup. One of my bucket list items is to get breath tested in every state. However by the time we found the cache and returned they had already moved on. tftc

Very clever! Thanks for find 144 !

As we arrived in Benalla, we decided to explore this area and have a look at the gliding club of Victoria, and then head onto some other interesting places close by. We stopped to find this one, and after a short search, we found a very well camouflaged container. It looks absolutely real! Log signed. Thanks jigg61 Domsky

07-Nov-23
Well played you almost had me ...granted the GPS swinging left and right didn't help but the cache was well executed

13-Oct-23
Lovely walk after a couple of hours rain. Thanks for the cache.

12-Sep-23
A whole four day trip with Aquilus1 to do the GeoTour in Ballarat some caching around Geelong and anything else that looked good on the way.
Weather was ok albeit a bit on the wet side for the first two days. Now on day 3 the weather is bice and sunny and we are pressing on with the last few Geotour caches on the way out and driving towards Queenscliff.
On our way back tom Canberra now.

This cache was one of the ones we had the oportunity to do.
A nice construction for this one. Same but very different indeed.

Thank you jigg61 for the nice cache and experience you gave us!

12-Sep-23
Spotted this from an angle, I was convinced it was the cache. Until I got closer and very much doubted myself. When it came off I surprised myself it actually was the cache! Nicely done, a nice twice on an old favourite.

This cache was one found on a trip away with Flintstone's for 4 days. We had the Geotour in Ballarat as our target, and made our way as far as Queenscliff.

Ballarat caching was a joy, and with the tour, we saw many lovely and interesting locations as well as stopping for many other caches as we passed. Lots of little walks helped with the colder first few days as well as being quite scenic.

A change of weather and scenery towards Queenscliff but the coast was a great place to visit with plenty to do and see. As always, more to do than there was time for, will just have to return one day! Thank you for your cache!

11-Aug-23
Tricky.

31-Jul-23
After completing the nearby Adventure lab, I realised that I hadn't looked at the journal entries which would have allowed me to complete the bonus cache. So instead, I headed to this one for a quick find. It's certainly a very well executed version of a typical type of hide. It gets a favourite from me.

Thanks to jigg61 for placing and maintaining this10 year old cache.

23-Jul-23
Nice hide. Found on a foggy morning.

Thanks for the Traditional Cache jigg61 Smile

Sneaky hide. A FP from me

10-Jul-23
Quick drive by no gilding today

10-Jul-23
Quick grab before breakfast. Benalla comes alive on weekdays.

09-Jul-23
I headed up this way to catch up with friends and to camp out with them at Broken Creek for the weekend.
After hanging around in Benalla , Beechworth and visiting a few silos to check out some art then sitting around a couple of great campfires with a few drinks and plenty of laughs at Broken creek it was time to head home.
The weather was not always friendly to us but it was a great weekend.
There is always time for one more cache and I looked for this one on the way home.
An interesting spot around here and I did not know how much history there was here also.
With the weather no one seemed to be out flying or gliding today.

Thanks jigg61 TFTC.

07-Apr-23
While driving from Melbourne towards the mega I stopped by this site to grab a cache. Plans were to leave Melbourne by 11, but due to car troubles it was more like 2.30 so the plans to go to certain caches had to be revamped.

This cache was found instead which was a great bonus.

*Found on the 16 Jan 2023 @ 9:36 am.*
*Cache find # 14061.*

After completing half of my mission yesterday, it was now day 2 and it was time to find a few caches in the Benalla LGA before heading to the centre of the Wangaratta LGA and then moving on to Craig’s Hut for a CITO.
As I was passing by this one so I had to stop for a look.
I was onto this one quickly as it was very similar to the previous find but this one was better as it is more unique.

**Thanks to jigg61 for placing this cache.**

28-Nov-22
Here for work and took a few minutes to find the well camouflaged cache. Last time I visited this exact location would've been on camp in Year 11. 1990 we went gliding! It was great fun but weather wasn't great I recall. Thanks for the cache and the memories.

14-Nov-22
Driving between Canberra - Whittlesea today for the mega event this coming weekend! Made my first stop in Holbrook for a couple of new caches, and then worked my way down south through some more highway towns.

---

Swung by this cache on my way to the virtual in town to make the detour more worth it! There was a guy with a dog nearby, but he soon left with my presence and I got down to searching.

Took me a couple minutes to locate the sneaky hide! A common type of hide, but a more unusual / unexpected approach to the container! That was pretty sneaky!

Thanks

Love the Camo ! Tftc!

Out on a caching adventure of 4 days with bushfire, Brisal 5 and Blackadder. We stayed nearby at Goorambat and travelled around from there. This had to be postponed a few times due to Covid.
We did glide by as we didn't manage to stop at the museum this time. Clever hide well deserving of a PF.
Stopped here and signed in as 3Bs while the sun shone us.
Thanks for the fun Jigg61

05-May-22
In the Wangaratta area for a few days caching with my very good caching mate from Bacchus Marsh 6Hinemoa2 and great caching friend from Adelaide and his mate the Blackadders.
Due to COVID lockdowns and other problems this trip has been postponed a number of times but we are finally going. Once in the area we put 3B6 or Bushfire in our logs to save space.
With so many caches found I have to use the cut and paste method as we found so many great caches from so many different cachers, so a big thank you to all those folk.
Well designed cache so a F.P.

THE LATE TO THE WANGARATTA MEGA TOUR. [:o)]
We were booked for November 21. [^] Didn't Happen. Twisted
Booking transferred to February 22. Razz covid Twisted
Booking transferred to May 2022. Cool Yah - made it albeit a tad late. Cool

DAY 3: Some Winton Wetlands and back to Benalla: Razz
The Fab Four of Bushfire, Blackadders, brisal5 and 6himemoa2 set off for a days of Geocaching adventures. Razz Although we had a plan A, we progressed through Plan A, Plan B and ended up doing Plan -wing it. [^] So to save space in logs we signed BBB6 or 3B6 or similar. Sometimes I stamped logs, but that ended very suddenly. Surprised Here is what we found during plan - wing it. Big Grin

Took us a little while to spot this very clever hide. Smile Love it - FP from me.

***Thanks jigg61 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin
Logs prepared and published through GSAK.

Day 3 of a trip to Victoria targeting around the Benalla area with Brisal5, Bushfire and 6hinemoa2. The forecast for the day was for showers however it ended up as a perfect day for caching.

As always the planned targeted hides were not visited due to time constraints but many more varied and fun caches were found. A number of disabled caches were also looked for and found to be there but in need of attention by the owners.

All caches were in good condition unless noted otherwise.

Thank you for the cache jigg61, found 5/05/2022, 3:20:11 PM

Today we found Gliding By on our travels. We are meandering our way home after the Wangaratta mega. I was looking where my device was indicating zero but I decided to ignore it and look where I’d put a cache. Noice!

Day 8 of our southern trip. Wangaratta to Creswick

Parked outside as we didn't think a cache was legal inside. Even more so its location. But then, its place date was 2013, so OK. Giving a Favourite for ingenuity.

Log signed and cache replaced as found at 12:58 PM on January 17, 2022. TFTC, jigg61

Stopped in Benalla for a night to visit a friend while on the way home from holidays. Knocked off a handful of caches while here. A bit of a novelty seeing the tow planes and gliders flying overhead over the weekend. Quick find.

16-Jan-22
Having a wonderful girls weekend away in honour of the nearby Mega event, spending time with Mummy Short Legs and Ms Manda Moo and making the most of the caches in the area.
Heading through Benalla and looking for a coffee stop on the start of our journey home. We decided to head here to check out all the favourite points. It took a few different inspection points but the goods were found by MSL after a short while and the log signed and returned while the nearby nests made a lot of noise. Lovely day for a Glide!

Found by Rebel Acts

Mrs Rebel had to make a trip to Bonnie Doon to check on the horses at our Family property, this gave Me time to head over to Benella once again and make another dent in My unfound there.

This is one of the caches I found today. I would of never known about gliding in Benella if not for this cache.

Thanks jigg61 for the cache.

20-May-21
Took a few minutes before we could sign this log, but got there in the end

We left Geelong this morning after 10 great days visiting, exploring and, of course, caching and set off for warmer pastures. As neither of us has spent any time in Benalla for years we thought we’d stop and take a look around, and see just how many caches we could find in an afternoon. The free caravan spot down past the library is great. Plenty of spots to pick from, walking distance to the shopping centre, free clean toilets under the library and caches all round. Some of them provided quite a challenge, some were pretty easy and by doing them we saw quite a bit of this pretty town and it’s lovely old buildings. Thanks to all the COs for their time and efforts. We really appreciate it.

Day 17 and the final day of this road trip! Packed up camp on a beautiful sunny day, second guessing whether I really should go home or not. Now making an extra long journey home via a few caches.

Needed this cache to add to my numbers and letters challenge - a clever hide with good camo.

Thanks jigg61 for the cache.
