Time to archive this one for a couple of reasons. It is a good spot however....
1) New owners mean that it needs to move
2) The game has changed and not for the better.

Due to a rise in Covid-19 I have made a conscious decision not to undertake cache maintenance as I feel that it doesn’t fit one of the reasons for being out during this pandemic. As I work in Melbourne in an emergency service but live regional I will not be putting myself or my community at risk.
I therefore am disabling all of my physical caches for the time being. The caches them self will be left in situ.
I won’t be deleting logs or anything like that and I intend to enable them again once I feel that my safety or that of my community won’t be put at risk.
I apologise for the inconvenience.

Not sure if all this debris from the tree was here last time this cache was found, but we had to give up after a long search fearing it was under there somewhere
Our first DNF since coming here. It could be still there, but it's too dark and cold to have a proper look
A 3 day trip with The White Dofg Gang to St Arnaud.

Just another one! The MEGA has been a blast! Enjoyed cruising through the bush and checking out the towns heritage. After 3 BIG days at the MEGA I was keen to find this too. TFTC
Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the Mega event.
FeatherWaite, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday, taking a circuitous, but scenic route to St Arnaud to pick up a few caches in some other Victorian LGAs. We met up with Freddo and Davidwazza at the event that evening and teamed up to complete a couple more caches that night together before camping out of town.
Over the next three days we cached very solidly in and around St Arnaud, finding a diverse range of Traditional, Multi, Unknown, Virtual, Letterbox, Wherigo and Earthcaches as well as attending all the events associated with the Mega. We also managed to complete all the Lab caches over the weekend. Logbooks were signed D.E.F.F.98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo and gridge98).
On the Sunday afternoon, after the final GIFF event, FeatherWaite and I began making our way back to Adelaide, picking up a couple of caches before camping in the Little Desert NP. The following day we continued towards home with a side visit to Mount Rescue to pick up a few caches along the tracks there.
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches. They included a huge variety of containers, hides and puzzles, many of which were very clever and/or amusing and had obviously taken considerable time and effort to construct. Thanks also to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. I’ll be looking forward to the Mega at Millicent in South Australia next Easter!

Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the 2019 Victorian Mega event. The weekend was spent primarily with e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98 as we geocached around the vicinity of St Arnaud. All of the events and CITOs were attended, we completed the available adventure labs and lab caches available at the showgrounds, many of the creative trails were gasped at their construction, and interesting puzzles were solved and collected during the weekend.
We all left on Thursday in two separate cars, and met up at the evening event, before finding a camp spot for the night in a very CITO location. On Friday, we targeted the StARS (St Arnaud Ramble Series) and the higher quality, well-constructed geocaches that were famous here in St Arnaud, and got lucky with the 2019 published series that we managed to snag FTFs on. Sunday had us continuing to find the other sets of high-quality caches around the neighbouring town parks, the challenge series, before spending a few hours at geocaching HQ participating in the labs that had been published. The event was also great to see some of the South Australians honoured with geocaching life awards (in amongst everyone on the list). Our final day, Sunday, had us do a big loop finishing off our geocache collection, driving all the way out to Kooreh and around via Stuart Mill, walking the conservation park at Mount Gowar, and finishing off at the GIFF event. A massive weekend that turned out to be a great mega! Thanks to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. The variety between the local high-quality caches, the new series placed by the mega team, and those who needed to be around for the labs and main centre fielding questions was appreciated immensely.
Today with our final day in St Arnaud, we went east and south focusing on some of the *Original Road* series, and the various geocaches that were placed along these routes. This cache was one of these found as we headed towards Stuart Mill. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks strange quark1 for placing and maintaining this cache. The logbook was signed as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98).

Found by NanaC as I had a duh moment. Well that was so obvious I missed it. Cache blindness or was it just exhaustion after a great Megs weekend?
Well the weekend is here and the hoards of cachers have been turning up all week and it is now the Mega weekend so that means lab caches, signal the frog, more events and catching up with friends and making some new ones.
After helping out at the Mega site in the morning I then went out and found the new series that had been put out since I was last here then attended the GIFF and now to try and find a few close ones around town before tea.
These green dots have been been haunting me in all of the visits up here and with a load of cacher’s walking around town I wouldn’t be so conspicuous trying to find them.
Ah the age of steam and they would have needed this to fill their thirsty tanks which is a different looking structure.
This was a sneaky cache that took me a couple of sweeps before I spotted something then I was soon able to add my name to the log.
Thanks strange quark1 TFTC.

Attending the mega at St Arnaud allowed Touchstone7 and me a good opportunity to do a lot of the caches in the area. Having recently taken up metal work, and hearing about some of the really cool containers, I was very keen to go out looking at some of the caches we'd heard so much about.
With the number of cachers (and caches) around St. Arnaud, we were never far from someone and the line "there's a cacher" from either Touchstone7 or myself proved quite the catchphrase.
Thanks for the cache, strange quark1

Found on day four of my St. Arnaud Mega event adventure and after knocking off all of the lab caches on offer, it was time to go grab some physical ones!
As I was fruitlessly searching for this one, a couple of other cachers pulled up and jumped out to join the search. Not long after we heard those golden words "found it"! I wish I had started by search on the other side of the fence instead of going to the "busier" side

We teamed up with Rapidlywild and headed down from Canberra for another Geocaching Victoria Mega. We arrived at our accommodation in Bendigo on Friday afternoon / evening and checked out a few caches in the area before retiring for the evening. On Saturday morning, we had a pleasant drive across to St Arnaud, arriving at the event as the opening ceremony was wrapping up, and the lab caches were released, so we joined the frenzy with the masses solving the cleverly constructed lab caches.
Sunday, day two of our mega weekend we headed over to St Arnaud to tackle some of the fire trails, and what ever else we came across along the way. After tackling the FT trail and the Loop Trail and surrounds, it was time to head back into town. No muggles around, so made for a quick find.

Found as part of our trip to the St Arnaud Mega event. On Day 1, e.gregory1, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday morning, straight after the Earlybirds event in North Adelaide. We travelled a long and circuitous route via Bordertown, Nhil and Warracknabeal to find caches in 5 additional Victorian LGAs that I had yet to visit (namely Buloke, Loddon, [Greater Bendigo - I’d previously visited], Mt Alexander, Hepburn and Central Goldfields). On Days 2-4 we met up with Freddo and Davidwazza. As a group we systematically completed each of the many series around St Arnaud and found all other caches along the way, signing the logbooks as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Freddo, Featherwaite and gridge98), as well as attending the events and completing the Lab caches. After the Mega, e.gregory1 and I headed back to Adelaide camping out in Little Desert NP overnight. On Day 5 we had intended picking up caches around Mundulla and Mount Monster but a last minute change of plans saw us head into Ngarkat CP instead, for a solid drive and a few extra rewarding cache finds. Many thanks to all the cache owners for placing the huge variety of caches around St Arnaud and to all those who organised the Mega and the fantastic weekend away. Thanks for the cache strange quark1!
It's that time of the year again, Victorian Mega time, so its off to St Arnaud for myself and the ladies of FurfacesLL. A long road trip ahead, heading off Friday morning and getting home late Monday night and a fun filled weekend. We found many caches of all kinds of variety.. Trads, Multis, Puzzles, EC's, Virtuals, Letterboxes, Wherigos, Events, Cito's and of course, the Mega itself. We enjoyed the weekend and there sure are some unique caches here in St Arnaud, we still have plenty left to collect, so may need to coordinate another trip this way some time.
Sunday is here, after a massive day yesterday doing the StARS trails, the Challenge trails, the CITO, Events and Lab caches. Today we decided to head out to try some of the Fire Trail trails and we were not disappointed.
After finishing the FBT trail, we moved over to the Loop Track trail. Must admit, was pretty impressed with some of the containers along this one, dropping a few FP's [^] Apologies for generic logs, with over 300 to log, it all becomes a blurr after a while
Thanks for the hide strange quark1 And thanks to the FFLL ladies for another amazing trip away

This morning woke up and set off to find some more caches and clean up the last few in the town, stopped by this cache for a quick find
What a big trip this was! I headed over to St Arnaud for the 2019 Victorian mega with e.gregory1, Davidwazza, Featherwaite and Freddo for the long weekend.
The weekend was filled with a lot of finds ranging in puzzles, a few events and some very well constructed hides around the area.
Day 1: I headed over with e.gregory1 and featherwaite, with the aim to collect some unfound LGAs for the guys, with only a 500km drive to the mega from home we added an extra 450km to the trip by going over to Bendigo and further south exploring some regional towns, overall we added an extra 6 LGAs with only 18 finds for the day. Was great to see some of the interesting little towns and what they had to offer for future visits.
Day 2: As a group we hit the trails in St Arnaud as a group signing the logbooks as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Freddo, featherwaite and gridge98) to save a lot of room in the logbook. We started off with the geoart Stars and thought it would take most of the day, as we finished it in 2.5 hours we were a bit surprised so hit the well constructed caches in the south of the town in the bush throwing a CITO in the mix. All the caches were amazing and something you don’t see anywhere else. Adding in 15 FTFs along the way with: everlasting, crank1 and Pwola. The evening settled in and we headed into town for a buffet dinner and a catch up with some familiar faces.
Day 3:
After attending the GV2020 event for the morning we set off to hit the last of the trails left in town of the metal containers, followed by the challenges for the mega as well as quite a few trads around the back roads. We ended the day by having a go at the lab caches at the mega then off to the CITO. I don't think I have ever seen so mant people at a tip before. Topped off the day with an evening event.
Day 4: By today the town was almost cleaned out and only a few caches to find, so we did the last few caches within a rough 15km radius driving around finding the odd cache here and there. The GIFF was finished off the mega so we decided to head to Horsham for the evening.
Day 5: After leaving our camp site for the morning, we cached for the morning around Horsham collecting a few grads and a well earned swim. Then made the long drive back home to Adelaide.
Thanks to all the COs for their cache placements and the Geocaching Victoria crew for organising a fantastic weekend away.

Another clever disguise. I wonder if this place still makes telephones? The writing on the shed intrigued me and my ex Telstra work colleague. Loved exploring this quiet country town. Looking forward to my next visit.

Once again Geocaching Victoria has absolutely put together another enjoyable Mega event, and what a great place to have it.

This weekend was the St. Arnaud Mega event and I was looking forward to hitting the road for a few days doing some flat out caching, visiting many new and amazing places and catching up with lots of caching friends. The event was a great success and heaps of fun. The caches provided by the local cachers were, in many cases, absolutely mind blowing (FUF009 caches most notably). All in all it was a great weekend, very warm weather and lots of caches found.

Fitzy_1965 and I started our long journey to St Arnaud super early this morning. Tagging along were two of my geokids, death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.
We arrived in St Arnaud about an hour before this CITO, set up camp and then headed off for some cleaning up. After the CITO we cached our way around the immediate area before heading back to the Night event and dinner.
As I don't eat beef, it was BYO pork sausages. I was very grateful that the man on the BBQ was happy to cook them for me and he did so to perfection. Everyone had their fill and chatted for a bit before heading off for more caching before the sun went down.

On a mission to buy a beesting and decided a cache wouldn't hurt either. Possibly done for a good reason but that's an artistically designed water tank. A tricky little cache and I was happy to find it. The beesting I didn't get, they were sold out but the substitute was amazing. ?? TFTC strange quark1.

Day 2 of St Arnaud MEGA. Stayed in Bendigo last night and TrailStevo and I mad a 6.30 start to head to Maryborough to do our Parkrun. Once complete we headed for the Mega for some pathtag trading, then some lab cache and a few local trads. we hung around the Mega for 90min before heading off into the bush to tackle a few series. Was warming up and very dusty, but we battled through 25 or so, before heading back to the high street for a coffee break. Whilst sitting at the cafe we became aware of more la b cache in town, and this turned into our next project for an hour. Then back to the Mega for dinner, WOW big queue, then down to the chip stop cus I was still hungry. Then we decided to look cool and drive up and down the high street 5 times!! Seriously........... found it. Then we headed back to Bendigo, cache our way back. Thanks for the fun people.
Day at the mega with Gunks then did offroad trail with GPS struggling followed by drivebys all over. Picked up most of the lab caches then 'cut some laps' before more drivebys on the way back to accomodation. Thanks for the cache.
Driving past towards another cache, I said there just had to be one over there. Nice hide, well done. Cheers, FTC and all your hospitality this weekend!

Day 3 of the St. Arnaud mega with DSD and ZQX!
Today's main goal was to complete all of the lab caches, swap pathtags, complete our registration, hit some of the traditional trails, some more letterbox's and of course the two events + CITO. We also ticked off a few more solved puzzles that were on the list! A 12 hour day between the first and last find!

Day one of the StArnaud mega.
After a very busy week (Addis Ababa Sunday, Dubai Monday, flying Tuesday, work for 2 days, then a big drive to Horsham) I was a little bit tired when I arrived at St Arnaud on Friday morning at 9am from Horsham.
Got my tent up (pleasingly in pretty quick time), had brekkie and then we were ready to get on with some caching.
Today we (caching with JJ52) did a variety of caches and drove a fair bit but the caching was superb. We tackled the CITO followed by half of the BW trail, we did a couple of other small series as well as all of the challenge caches. We also threw in some events and wherigos.
All up it was a super day 1 of the Mega, thoroughly enjoyable. Great meeting other teams on the road and out and about. The caching was excellent which is testament to the fabulous caching teams in St Arnaud and the hard working Mega crew. Thanks for making this possible!
Had some great coffee and sandwiches from the lovely team at the Dabbling Duck. Ended up at the Friday night dinner which was very well organised.
Whilst we didn't get 'mega' numbers like some teams/crews we went at a nice steady pace, so happy all round.
Yay was able to avenge a dnf from another trip to St Arnaud here. With help from JJ52 I eventually had CIH, no wonder we didn't find it last time! This water tank is fab. TFTC strange quark1
After a very busy week (Addis Ababa Sunday, Dubai Monday, flying Tuesday, work for 2 days, then a big drive to Horsham) I was a little bit tired when I arrived at St Arnaud on Friday morning at 9am from Horsham.

Did this cache back in 2016 but didn't log it. Now that we are in town again, took the opportunity to take another look. Interesting. Thanks for the cache.
I'm travelling for the next 4 months and I'm going to visit in Singapore, Australia, New-Zealand, Japan and England. My plan is to see as much as possible for each places and also get new experiences. I try to do some caching on the way too, so greetings from Finland!
Quick find while enjoying mega-weekend. TFTC!

2019 St. Arnaud Event caching trip! Thanks for the cache!
*Face palm* don't you hate it when it turns out that you picked up the cache and disregarded it because you didn't look at it right, only to discover that yes, it was the cache...

Success, after a DNF last year when we discovered the cache was actually MIA. Happy to see it back in play now. The log sheet was full on both sides, so we replaced it and SL at 5.36pm #6598 TFTC strange quark1 Love the unusual shaped water tank.

An interesting shaped watertower. And a cache that proved elusive until Owl did her third pass.
After arriving in St Arnaud this afternoon, getting settled in to the caravan park and attending the Thursday Night Picnic Tea event it was time to go out and get a few caches with mogni and sir_spectre. [^]
This one took a little while to spot, but the hint did help and the sneaky little cache revealed itself.

After travelling from Ballarat, was in St Arnaud for a few hours this afternoon. Did a number of caches and had fun locating them. Thank you to the CO's for placing them in their locations. TFTC.
Nice clever hide that didn’t beat us today thankfully. Geocaching buddy was able to put her hand on it almost straight away. We gladly signed the log and replaced all as found.
Cheers and happy caching!

Day 3 of my trip to St Arnaud. After picking up some of the puzzle caches I had solved I head into town to grab a few caches there. Looks like St Arnaud closes down on a Saturday. I had the area to myself so was able to make a quick find. TFTC.
This hide took a little while to spot. Excellent cache camo and intoeresting information. Great to learn more about St Arnaud. Thanks SQ1, found with Alansee today.
Day 2 of our stay in St Arnaud for geocaching and birding. Arriving at GZ there did not seem to be any obvious hiding place and our initial search did nor reveal anything. Checking the hint did not help at first. But we finally found the well hidden container and we were able to sign the log. TFTC
Out and about with &others on a Silo Painting trail. This was our second attempt at this one, we must have been tired yesterday as two members our group said had picked up the item the other day and put it back not realizing it was what we wanted. Today walked up and Mr X found it straight away. Excellent camo. Thanks for the very clever hide
Last day in the area just finishing off with a few town caches. Glad we set our sights on this one. A well crafted cache. Fav point. Tftc
Came to town to see the Anzac day dawn service might we well find some caches.

We were amazed by this landmark in the town. There was even a nice shady tree to search and write in log under and be protected from the heat. The cache was a tricky hide , well hidden in an apparently scrappy location. Luckily it wasn’t a long hunt for me.
Found while out and about for the weekend in St Arnaud with Mrs ww2_nut and kids. It was Mrs ww2_nut’s sharp eye that spotted this one. Took some skill to get the log out to sign it but we got there in the end. TFTC
Happy Australia Day! Traveled from Mildura to St Arnaud for an event now out logging some caches with 4Moule.
After dinner in the park with the geokids we set out to find some more caches.. I quickly spotted this one much to my own surprise. Took me longer to be roll the log then it did to find it. Very clever hid. Loved the tank, we've never seen one like that before. TFTC
