Cant find, too many people

Cache was found after a short search. Thanks for the fun. Cleaning up Victoria with gridge98. We are on a mission this week. Completing twenty finds in Mexican local government areas is the challenge. Another find with the correct criteria. It is in Victoria and we have not accumulated twenty finds in this local government area.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is Sol's day the twentieth day of the octavus month of the Roman calendar in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a bit windy today. It was so windy today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. Well this was a dodgy place to visit, needles everywhere and no real access to GZ expect almost walking on the roof. Cache found Travelling around Victoria with Freddo for a week finding caches as we go. With two challenges on our radar we were in full force. All logs signed with our names or F+g98 for the smaller caches. Thanks for the cache

A little anxious about hunting around this area for the find. Overgrown and lots of rubbish as well.

14-Aug-24
Here for a few weeks for work and having a look around. TFTC

27-Apr-24
With all the rubbish, this is exactly where a cockroach would live.

25-Apr-24
The amount of people out and about in the area and a new syringes dented my confidence to go rummaging around for this one. A DNF today

20-Apr-24
After striking out at the nearby sidetracked cache I wandered over to this one. I looked for a moment and then spotted something. Yes I have been fooled by these types of caches before, but not today! I started my search again and very fortunately noted the warnings in the logs. Uncapped syringes everywhere! Yep, this is definitely the case.Due to changes at GZ, this cache no longer meets its original T1 status so be mindful and careful when accessing it. Perhaps it might be worth considering a relocation by a couple of metres to a similar but much safer spot.I eventually made it to the cache and signed the log.A big thanks goes to Watsonia Library for taking the time to add Take a mark like Roach to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Nominations for the **2023 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards** are now open and will close on **17 April 2024**. Tricky little hiding spot. Nearly gave up but using the previous comment about rubbish and uncapped syringes was able to locate it. Thanks

29-Feb-24
Ahhh yes there it is. Took me awhile before the penny dropped. Then I had to navigate the tricky way together there and dodge the rubbish and 4 uncapped syringes there I actually used my camera on my phone to assist me. Great little container which makes sense nowIm a Carlton supporter so Id rather it be Jezzalenko or Kernahan but Roach was a got up high too. TFTC

No luck today

19-Sep-23
This one had us stumped for about 10 minutes. We decided there was nowhere to hide it and had returned to the car ... and had a light bulb moment! which doubled in certainty when coupled with discussing who the player was... A few more minutes .. and then we had it! Brilliant in name, execution, placement and the cache itself. We love this (frustrating) one! A definite favourite point from us Thanks Watsonia Library

08-Sep-23
Found it second time around. It all makes sense once it makes sense. Have a look at the location picture and give it some thought! David

27-Aug-23
Looked for 10 minutes and found nothing. I didn't even see any used syringes that people have been reporting

30-Jul-23
Arggg 3 of us stiffing around looking and NOTHING , only syringes and I’m sure the library wouldn’t entertain people taking such a chance in this nasty surroundings.

25-Jul-23
Today's plan was two fold. To attend the event in Bundoora and to get more than 17 caches in the Banyule LGA to complete the 20 geocaches in the Banyule LGA. Pleased that I completed both, plus 2 other challenges too. Got a new Tree climb cache in a new LGA and a personal challenge of finding a Muzza Puzzle Mania geocache.

Definitely not what I expecting, but very well done. Was a quick find, spotted from the right angle. While writing the log now, and re-reading the description, I do get the final container. Well done.

Thanks for the cache Watsonia Library

Find number 12049 at 12:15:53 pm on Wednesday the 24 May 2023
Out and about chasing some favourite points for this months GCHQ souvenir challenge and I have been looking one up the road for some time, time to pull the finger out Smile
Time to grab this one too!
I lived in this area many years back and I never realized that this was here, there is always more to learn!
Needed some help from a PAF on this one as my mind was vertically blocked today.
A great hide in good condition, just watch out for the syringes on the ground.
**Thanks for placing this cache Watsonia Library**

Today I’ve caught the train to Watsonia to see what this part of town has to offer with regard to geocaching. It’s not a part of Melbourne that I’m familiar with.

On a high after finding the library cache, I couldn’t resist a second offering by the Watsonia Librarians. I don’t know much about VFL/AFL, but I successfully made a find here. Cute!

Thanks again Watsonia Librarians.

Spending a few days on the road with Wilbert as we travel to and from the Whittlesea Mega event.
Having a great time finding an array of different types and D/T rated caches.
Thanks to all the CO’s for hiding your particular cache.
Day 3 and we’re hunting LGA’s today.
My apologies for the boiler style log.

Mega in Whittlesea is done! Today we are going around Melbourne doing LGA's and labs. Pretty cold today, but good caching. Tricky if you don't know where to look

**This Cache:**

The Watsonia Library opened in 10 minutes, so whilst we waited, we decided to find this cache! Funnily enough it was also hidden by the library account!

We started the search at the wrong elevation but soon realized our error. Made a quick find after that! Was impressed by the little construction to keep the cache in place!

Thanks, cool hide

**Today:**

Myself and sebass19 headed off from Mill Park today, slowly meandering our way in a south-easterly direction. I had a huge list of caches that were worth picking up for varying reasons, so we didn't really have much of a plan apart from driving from each cache on the list to the next closest, following the small clusters as we went! Had an awesome day with many different cache types with unique stats!

Thanks to all the CO's

### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE** ###

----------

Hi there Watsonia Library,

It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is an issue. The cache has been temporarily disabled, so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location until the issues/s with this cache can be addressed.

**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days, so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.**

#What should you do now:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-

- **Check On The Cache:-** Visit the cache and repair and/or replace or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ). Then sit back and wait for the logs of praise to roll in.

- **Place A Write Note Log::-** Reviewers don't have a crystal ball, so without your note on the cache page explaining that the site works are on-going, or you have been in hospital, or the area is in flood, they can't tell what is going on with the cache.
So please just post a note to the page (within 14 days) and when a Reviewer next looks at the listing, all will be fine for a little bit longer.
**Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. If you have a long term unavailable cache (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 4 to 6 weeks, so as to keep everyone up to speed.**

- **Adopt/Archive:-** If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56), so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.

You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when a Reviewer next looks at the cache page, it is likely that they will, unfortunately, have to de-list (Archive) on the basis that it has been abandoned.

Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

**JUST A TIP:-** Have you checked out the new Geocaching Dash Board designed to assist a Cache Owner in managing the caches they own? Have a read about it [**HERE.**](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2020/07/welcome-to-the-cache-owner-dashboard/?newsletter=PM) You will find your very own dash board [**HERE**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/owner?utm_source=geocaching&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=COD).

Thanks for your cooperation,

Bunjil

Sorry to take so long to update the technology.

I found this cache today on my Seven Labs Preston to Watsonia Run. After a DNF in Jan 2017 when the cache was missing, I returned today to make the find. Walked straight up to where we were searching last time and found it straight away. Thanks from D B-A

Went geocaching with Mr. 10 after school today. Never knew this carpark existed, but we explored and after a few minutes found this sneakily hidden cache - important to look at everything carefully! Ultimately we definitely nailed this find - nice hide!

02-Oct-21
Very sneaky!

26-Sep-21
Finally found it after a hint from a fellow geocacher. We found it second time looking. Great hiding spot!

Great find.

Sneaky sneaky sneaky! A fav

04-Apr-21
Thought this would be a great one to do on a public holiday with fewer muggles about.
Alas, we could not find it. Bigger issue was that just as we got back in the car to leave the boom gate came down. Stranded in a car park on Easter Saturday, and there is no security contact.
I think this might be funny in the future.

07-Feb-21
Electric scooters in the car with AL's thr target for Spiffy- and I plus a few other caches en route. And we milked every last drop of power out of the scooters with both flashing red when we finished.

Be careful if you are on the wrong level as many syringes about. Once we altered this a quick find on a sneaky hide.

Thanks to Watsonia Library for the placement and fun.

07-Feb-21
Found at 1:38 pm.
Today we headed out to do a few Adventure Lab caches on the scooters and while we were there we would also look for whatever else we came across. It was a great afternoon out and about because the light rain stopped just when we started before lunch. We got a little too far from where we parked and I ended up having to manually push the scooter the last 1.5km back to the car because I didn't realise how much downhill riding we had done and misjudged the returning distance and had my first red battery light situation. I survived though so everything was ok.

We had to wait a few minutes for a couple of chatting muggles to leave then we started looking and then realised we didn't need to wait for them because we were in the wrong. Soon after Fleabag- had the sneaky find in hand amongst the junk.
Thanks Watsonia Library for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

06-Feb-21
I was out this way umpiring cricket and as the traffic was kind to me I swung off Greensborough Road with about 30 minutes to spare before I needed to be at the ground. After a find nearby I headed on to this one. As well as a passion for cricket I love my footy so I appreciated the subject and the there here. The towering mark is a fabulous feature of the Australian football code. I had worked out where I needed to be here and once I got that right it was a short search to locate this one. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache Watsonia Library.

28-Jan-21
A very clever hide indeed and by virtue of the number of local muggles circulating around on Watsonia Road I took a bit of a wander around to kill time and that opened my eyes to opportunity. Well done Watsonia Library TFTC... and Go Cats! A fav point from me.

24-Aug-20
After dental visit and chemist run, a quick check on this cache from a previous find. No problems, all in good order, dry, ready to go.

A clever hide in this very public place. The co-ordinates were spot on. TFTC

20-Jun-20
I looked for this early in the day but a chap was sitting in his car right where I thought I wanted to be. So I abandoned the hunt. Came back later and after a short and fruitless search I realized what I was doing wrong. This cache is brilliant.

20-May-20
Confused again. That's twice.

20-May-20
Frustration averted with hints on where to start looking by 2 recent finders. A thousand thank yous. Didn't even realize you could go to that level. Oh well, you never stop learning. FP from me. TFTC.

TFTC!
Sneaky hide. I was getting many strange looks from many of the people on the other side of the road and in the shopping area, due to the height they could all see me very clearly. All is in good condition. Go Collingwood!

31-Dec-19
Last one for the year!
A pretty easy find, but there's a tonne of junk at GZ making it look pretty sketchy.
TFTC

07-Dec-19
No idea on this one..,everywhere at GZ looks dubious. Thanks anyhow

06-Oct-19
Thought I was in for an easy one here that took me awhile before the penny dropped. Nice view from here to see you over everything. Excellent hide think it deserves a favourite thanks for the cache

26-Sep-19
Go Tigers!!!

08-Sep-19
Good hide, easy find though, bit of rummaging around and a fairly obvious hide for a micro. More of a rovers find though!

TFTC

05-Sep-19
Had a bit of a look but too many areas to search, hints from previous logs, rubbish dumped by the clothing bin, and muggles. Too hard to narrow down the actual search area.

31-Aug-19
Had a second go at this one as it was raining last time and very unpleasant I must say this cache is definitely next level thanks watsonia library

27-Aug-19
Very tricky and clever hide. Did get a bit of help from a friend .
But we should have walked around the block like someone suggested in their log.

04-Aug-19
You might think being local would be an advantage for this one... but thinking laterally also helps, as does walking around the block. Tftc.

03-Aug-19
Over the years I have had this on the radar and even had a couple of half hearted searches. Today I was on a mission and was not going to take a DNF as an option. After looking in places that I have before I had another idea. This time it panned out. Finally I have a smile in this location. TFTC.

28-Jul-19
Not luck for me today - too many muggles and couldn't quite see that it was a one-star T so was looking in the wrong places I expect. One to try again another day...

27-Jul-19
Nup, no idea. Looked up, down, around, but no cache.

Very ticky one to find today. A lot of people dropping stuff into the local charity bins today.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for this geocache here today.

Nearly 2 years later, we are much better at caching and found this no problem. Thanks for the cache, Watsonia Library!

25-Apr-19
Tftc. Out for a walk on ANZAC day! Loved this one. Took us ages but found eventually when widened search area. Very clever clue.

22-Apr-19
Out and about with TrailStevo last night, managed around 10km and managed to make a dog shape on my strava map, by accident! We found double figures of cache and spotted a few roos, possums and my favourite Tawnyfrog Mouths. Thanks to all the CO's for the fun. Had a little look, read some logs, had a better look, found!

21-Apr-19
More night caching with Gunks. Almost 10kms of walking to pick a bunch up. Managed to find most including this one. TFTC

10-Mar-19
I was very appreciative to have a previous finder with me today, who set me straight on the correct elevation of the hide. Soon after, I found the cleverly hidden cache. Thanks so much for placing this cache Watsonia Library

21-Feb-19
When I started school the Tigers golden era was over but nobody knew it yet. Roach was big in our schoolyard. I preferred Bosustow, having jumped onto a Blues bandwagon which would attach me to a mostly competitive team until 2001, and since then mostly uncompetitive. There’s always hope though. As to the cache, the photo was spot on but my phone wanted me to head over to the IGA. I worked it out soon enough and signed. Thanks Watsonia Library

16-Feb-19
Couldn’t find it last time, this time I took it to another level and boom, found it straight away. Geosons asked where it was so told them to have a look and work it out. Both looked and said “that’s cool”

Had a good look between muggles but couldnt find it. Doesnt help that I have absolutely no idea what the clue means, will have to research it because I dont follow football.

16-Sep-18
After many attempts and too many muggles around to do a proper search, eventually figured I had been searching in the wrong spot and finally found it

24-Aug-18
Yea !! Found it !!

11-Aug-18
At last!
Looked for this one a number of times in completely the wrong place.
Happy to put hands on it quickly today!

I had just found a top cache, Unrestricted Under the Sea and continued to the next leg of the journey. I walked down the street and passed the shopping strip which was quiet late on a Saturday afternoon. I imagine it's been a bit quieter since the bank on this street moved out. Nonetheless, I made my way up to this cache on a top level car park I never knew was here. In the distance I could hear the sounds of whistles from the football down at AK Lines Reserve. I fortunately didn't need to take a mark like Roach, as remarkable as that effort was, otherwise I may have gone sliding down the roof tiles. However, I did rely on the in-and-under style of football to find this cache. The cache puzzled me at first but soon had it like a chip off the old block. Thanks for the cache Watsonia Library!
