String of DNFs and CO not responding Sad

Caches at kiddy parks are never a good idea Sad

28-Sep-14
First chance I've had to get here due to illness, cache has been pilfered!

27-Sep-14
Coords in the middle of the grass and a string of DNFs. Back in the car I go.

17-Jul-14
This is the third visit to find this cache but without any luck. I have used my phone, my ipad and GPS and all are sending me in the middle of the grassed area. I will return again

12-Jul-14
Not having a good GC day! Couldn't find it.

06-Jul-14
Looked high, look low....but it's a no show. I will be back. Sad

28-May-14
Had a search around. Didn't find the cache. Had troubles with the navigation.

01-Feb-14
This one is a puzzle! Old and new GZ are in open space between shelter, playground and solitary tree. After several fruitless searches and expanding the search area am still none the wiser. Will also wait for either a hint or better co-ords.

18-Jan-14
Now that the CO had provided alternate coordinates, went out to check if they'd help in finding this little beast.
The GZ is in a logical spot, had a rather thorough look and touchy-feely search within the nearest few metres, but even then came out empty handed. And I had already done the same on my second visit.

There was a boy with his grannie out in the playground, so didn't want to expand the search more. There's only so much one can look odd and out-of-place at any one time before raising eyebrows... Razz

I'll keep my eye on this to see if anyone reveals something helpful...[^]

TFTH, Chizzi!

Got there to update Coords, hope this helps Smile

10-Jan-14
out for the day caching with Outback Di on the other side of the bridge

co-ords took us between everything
looked and looked on several items

PAF answered after we had left

if that is where it is then co-ords for us today would have been over 20m out

07-Dec-13
No joy for me today. The park was empty. I stood in between the large tree and the shelter contemplating where the cache might be. I checked out the tree and had a cursory glance around the shelter. I checked the grassy area.

But all for nought.

till next time.

Looked everywhere

13-Nov-13
DNF for us today. The co-ords don't show the shelter and also not the playground ( a comment made by someone) so I don't know where it could be. My GZ is between both; not in either.

26-Oct-13
Glad to have a second chance at this one as the first was a long fruitless search with OrionJ some time ago. This time with Whird along as well it was a successful hunt. By reading the logs I didn't feel so bad as not too many people have been successful with this one. TFTC

23-Oct-13
Well this one seems to have tormented a few of use for a little while now. I had previously visited with LHE Duo, however must have forgotten the DNF Log, my logging has been a little haphazard of late.

Well tonight with Whird, and LHE Duo it was the time we decided to make the find and get this one smiling back at us. It took a little looking but made the find seemingly much easier tonight, but it was found none the less.

The find was made easier by it being night time, but not by much.

TFTC

Yes well... Out with OrionJ and LHE Duo we can finally put a smiley to this sneaky little sucker... TFTC.................. I think Razz

22-Oct-13

17-Oct-13
No luck for me today. Coords put me in an open space. Poked everything I could reach, but no treasure Sad

26-Sep-13
Was driving home and decided to stop by to check on my little urban cache since no one has found it since it's been placed in its new home.
All is safe and well here and just waiting on its new spot FTF!
Happy hunting Smile

Spent quite some to try and find this one, unsuccessfully in the end.

NOT FRIGGEN HAPPY JAN!!!!!

I don't usually give up on a cache but this one has pissed me off for the last time and will be looked for again. Even with the new Co-ords I'm being sent to the playground and then the damn Muggle Bastards keep coming and either playing or sitting in the area.

Thanks for the cache hide Chizzi but no Thanks!!!!!

Argh, another DNF on this cache.
The cache has been moved to a place that makes everybody feel good. Much appreciated, Chizzi!

The phone took me to the middle of a lawn. Since there's no point looking straight down in that very location, commenced the search through the nearby shelter and its structures, trees, basketball court, a little bit behind the bike path. Nowhere to be seen.

30 mins of kicking dirt around after 9 pm with no reward. Turned the shelter upside down and shook, but nothing.
Ouch, this is an evasive one. Given the size, the potential locations are limited, but none of the yileded any sign of the container.

This mystery remains unsolved for me. But there will be the day when I scratch my head wondering how come I hadn't noticed it earlier... Cool

TFTH again, Chizzi!

Coordinates changed from:
S 27° 31.203 E 153° 12.625

Coordinates changed to:
S 27° 31.201 E 153° 12.612

Distance from original: 71.2 feet or 21.7 meters.
Due to a previous log entry I have been made aware that people searching alone at the current cache spot may be looked at funny.
Note cache is not in the playground.

15-Aug-13
Now I know why it was a DNF for me, as I completely discounted the area where the container apparently is.

14-Aug-13
I wanted to go caching with Pop and he took me to this playground and I met some friends here and he found the cache while I played.

Today I was lucky

Today I was lucky to find a cache today because I wanted to fill today on the calendar for the 31 days of August.
Today I was lucky that it was Ekka Wednesday because I didn't have to work.
Today I was lucky that I was visiting my daughter and grand-daughter because I didn't feel like going out today.
Today I was lucky that 4yo grand-daughter finally decided she wanted to go caching because she kept changing her mind.
Today I was lucky that I arrived to find the park empty because I would not have been able to look with muggles in the area.
Today I was lucky that I had the 4yo grand-daughter with me because I would not have even started looking if I had been alone.
Today I was lucky that the muggles who arrived knew my daughter because that distracted them from my activities.
Today I was lucky that I decided to move away from where the GPS was indicated because I couldn't find a cache there.
Today I was lucky that muggles and grand-daughter decided to stop playing on the part of the playground where I had decided to look because I wouldn't have been able to look with them there.
Today I was lucky that I was holding the grand-daughter's ball because I dropped it and started looking for it.
Today I was lucky that I spotted the cache when I stooped down to retrieve the ball because I looked from the right side.

Today I was lucky because the coordinates are 15m out. I have added the coordinates that I read on my GPS at the cache.

This is not a spot for a 66yo male to be searching alone. I don't like this type of hide and I'm sure there are many other cachers who would agree.

12-Aug-13
Hmm. Got there, read logs. Saw previous unsuccessful search scratchings. Did some of my own. Ran out of light. Jumbucks

12-Aug-13
After another DNF came through for this one I decided to do a quick swing by... Verdict: cache is still safe and sound.
Happy hunting Very Happy

05-Aug-13
At 2 pm this afternoon I had the whole park to myself. What a lovely little stretch this is actually, I have to add this to my weekend walk schedule to explore it some day.

The smartiephone pointed me next to the playground equipment, but since they wouldn't host a cache, would they, I started the search in the nearby vegetation.

After quite a few minutes of shuffling around, I checked other potential options, too: neighbourghing trees, playground, even the shelter. Searched high and low, left and right, front and back, in and out, but nothing came up.
Well, the container may well still be there but I just didn't realise it this time around. Some other day, then...
TFTH, Chizzi!

*FTF* with BikerLeo
00:11am 18 July 2013

I hadn't planned to come out to Capalaba again so soon, but I had got my goal for the night a lot more quickly than I had thought I would and I saw that Valantine was still not spoken for....

I arrived at the park at about 11:30 and saw suspicious lights flicking... and had the great pleasure to meet BikerLeo. Turns out his phone was doing a lousy job of choosing just one spot for GZ and he was searching up and down after it.

For some reason my phone was sort of behaving itself, but was putting GZ in the middle of a grassy patch. I started a thorough search of things nearby (which I think Leo had already searched) and came up with some mascara, a toy car and a hat...

Hmm. I get the phone out again and it is now pointing a bit more over there. Well I follow it and start double checking some of the new potential hiding spots... Leo's Google Maps view was putting GZ about 30m off from where I was searching so I go and have a quick look with him there, but my suspicion is growing about one place I haven't checked.

I look there and, hmm no, no, yes! Found ya! We retire to the conveniently lit picnic tables and find a clean log!

Thanks for the cache Chizzi, and lovely to have met you Leo!

Well that is the longest I have waited around to try and find a cache and still didn't get a chance to look, Damn high school dropout and his high school girlfriend hanging around under the shelter and playing on the kids gymnasium, I waited for an hour and they still weren't moving away. I may not be FTF for this one but I'll try at night when those two should be in bed at their homes. GRRRR! Very Happy
