We will go and have a check of this one ... not this weekend though, with it being Tauranga's Jazz Festival.
I went for another look and it looks like they have done some fresh prunning of the trees. they are all cut back and not many over the boardwalk now
No luck for us today... i think we had a good look, but couldn't find anything!
Jeez, number 4 in a list of DNFs - have never had so many before. Although I did come to this cache as light was failing and the restaurant nearby was full (so feeling somewhat conspicuous). Would have liked to spend longer looking but the people in the restaurant were making me nervous. Wish GAR was with me instead of late night stocktaking but alas. Another trip to Tauranga maybe.
Nice cache. That was fun to find. Now seeking shelter from rain till I go to my next one.
#95. A walk along the waterfront after lunch with friends. With 5 pairs of eyes searching, this cache couldn't stay hidden from us. Happy New Year. Tftc!
Took a bit of looking but we got there eventually. Sometimes a bit of luck to look in the right place! Tftc
A very satisfying find! The previous logs are a mixture of yes and no's, so I didn't hold hope that I would find it. A wee while of looking and, yep! you've just gotta happen to be looking in the right place. Gps is out by about 5m. Thanks!
Well we were on a roll then no luck with this one.
We looked high and low probably much to the amusment of the people having lunch at the harbour side.
Not sure weather it was just us not being able to find it or if it is not there as i see by the logs that it was the end of September when it was last found but you would hope that if anyone else has not been able to find it they would log it as not found.
I will keep an eye on this one and will be back to have another go.
Flippaduck.

Was just in the process of walking away when I happened to glance across the cache. What a lucky find and very very easy to miss.
Time was a bit restricted, and hanging caches aren't really our forte.... After a few minutes searching, we decided we better move on.
Our second time hunting for this cache, after seeing in the log that it had been replaced since our last DNF. GPS wasn't playing, but we remembered the spot from our last visit. Hunted but no luck, I think we need Mr H.Hunters perspective to help with this one. We'll be back!
4th time trying to find this, but came with canaryz and her fresh eyes and have to say she spotted it before me this time. I know I looked there before but just didn't see it.
Checked on cache, it did appear to be missing. Replacement cache now in place. Happy caching everyone!
Mrs HHunter and two little HHunters on bikes across the Matapihi bridge. Tried for this one on our way home.... getting a bit dusky..... hunted high and low but have deferred to another day with good light and fresh eyes!
This took a lot longer than it should have. Just one of those that can be well disguised. TFTC
Over in Tauranga for the Jazz Festival and decided to introduce some friends to geocaching. They found the cache for me!! Great camo and a lovely spot away from the CBD as stated. TFTC
One more time in Tauranga, Today I also do a few caches. Found and logged very fast.

sorry - just doing a catch up of missed caches
great location for an enjoyable cache

After losing our confidence as to the location a staff member from the restaurant ran out to say we were in the right place. She had not seen the cache but had seen people looking (some up to 45 minutes) and was curious as to what exactly they were doing - looks like geocaching may now have another new member. After a chat decided to give up for the day and there it was! Phew, no need to admit defeat.
This one kept us looking for awhile, but finally after a Starbucks and sit down we went back and found this one. TFTC
I walk here almost every evening but ive been yo warry of the big open windows of the restraunt to look. Tonight i finally decided just a quick look. And there it was. Unfortunatly i dropped my pencil in the water. Haha i will go sign it another time.

Thank goodness for the keen eyes of the 10 year old! Wouldn't want to do this one while the restaurant was full of people! A lovely spot but unfortunately we forgot to bring a pen to sign the log. Will return to do it soon. TFTC.
Wow been coming to Tauranga all my life I have even eaten at the restaurant and never knew this lovely walkway existed. That's for the intro
Very neat place for a cache have been to tauranga millions of times and never knew this boardwalk existed!! Nice easy cache will b back with pencil
A nice quick and easy find here. Signed log and watched a local launch his dinghy down the ramp. TFTC!
Wasn't sure how to get to GZ but was parked across the railway line in preparation to walk along the bridge. Took the direct route across the railway line which is not recommended. A bit dodgy.
A pair of what looked like White Fronted Terns were not too impressed to see my dog and I at GZ and launched a number of attacks. On walking back I realised why. They had a large chick in a nest 20 m or so away out to sea on a big post.
Many thanks

Found after a short walk from fisherman rest. Nice little boardwalk had to hold tight to phone and keys afraid they would fall through the rather large gaps in the boardwalk
Sorry, Comment and Foto before was regarding the Evil Cache on the Bridge. This One had correct coordinates and was really nice
Quick in and out, hopefully the council doesn't decide to prune those trees....
Over this way for an early morning meeting before heading back to Hamilton, so what better way to make use of an early start than a few dot day caches,
Finding the access point to the cache was not a problem as there was no-one about and luck would have it that the cache was quickly in hand

We spent way too much time here, but still didn't manage a find. We'll have to talk to C+D about it as I see he has just found it (quickly of course!) took photos as unconvincing cover for our suspicious behaviour.
Excellent camo. Approached from the wrong end but the restaurant let me walk through. TFTC
After staying the night in Tauranga because of a Labour Weekend football tournament, we went out early the next before more games to find some caches. No muggles this time if the morning made it ideal. After spending five minutes trying to find this cache, it wasn't until we were holding it in our hand that we realised we had found it. Good camo. Third of the day
Thanks for bringing us here Lion Fish took us a little to find but all good. loved the area.
Out to lunch with NZFlossy - should have known there woud be a cache involved as well Took a bit to find, then it was so obvious TFTC

Isn't it funny how just as you give up, there it is. Well hidden in full view
Nice boardwalk in a peaceful corner --- lots of interesting birds about.

After looking in all the wrong places the first attempt, we found my accident on second attempt! Thanks great hide!
A very clever and challenging cache. Time and ambient dirt has made the container blend in with its environment. Found with Noelle04.
Found after a fair bit of searching with jimmytherat. Well camoed! Nice board walk. Thanks & cheers from Oz.
Great little spot, so good that had to keep returning to it to find the cache! *P*
Scrambled up the hill and over the railway lines to access the boardwalk and once there the cache was spotted. Took great care not to drop it as retrieval may have been a problem TFTC.

Catching up on some cool caches around Tauranga this afternoon. Firstly Murray headed up the bank and ran into train track with a train coming...he vamoosed quickly! So then we decided to go around, saw the restaurant is still there indeed, and snuck past their back door to get to the boardwalk. It is a lovely spot indeed, but a little cold at 5.30 so Janet was ready to give up after inspecting GZ. however Murray persevered and was rewarded with finding the clever camoed cache. Thanks very much, LionFish..that's a fave for us.
We were there earlier than Murray and Janet and it was just cold enough then. I hate those ones with a passion but finally perseverance paid off and we had it in hand. No trains for us, but a few dinners wonder what we were up to, got a nice wave from them though. FTC

A quick race back to locate this one, although Mr Geckoh spied it first he allowed Mrs Geckoh the pleasure of extracting the log with the assistance of Miss Geckoh. A lovely quiet area this morning and a beautiful day to enjoy it. TFTC

Day 26.......decided to grab this one at the last minute as I had a few extra minutes up my sleeve.....well, those minutes were spent sat in the car waiting for the heavy shower to pass, then decide I don;t have the time and break out the broken brolly.....discover the train tracks are in the way, read the description and see the note about the start of the track.....panic about time.....see a track up and over the tracks, follow this....spend a few minutes trying to ascertain the location and dive in, sign log......hear the distant rumbling and horn of an oncoming train.....eek...thankfully it was traveling very slowly and was not even in sight when I recrossed the tracks......
TFTC and for showing a new part of town!

A beautiful day and the opportunity to stroll along the boardwalk at lunchtime. I started off over thinking where this could be when it was beside me all along.

Had a hunch at what I should be looking for, but just had to find it. Took a little while but got there in the end. Thank for bringing me to this hidden boardwalk. <;))))>
2 August and Found it. Walked along the boardwalk, which I have to admit not noticing before. Felt a bit dumb looking hard at where I thought the cache would be, but was rewarded soon enough after asking myself 'Where would I hide it?' and sure enough - there it was. Thanks Lion Fish for this cache. Got quite wet and cold walking back to the car as it started to rain.
I like these new caches around town - gives me a good reason to go for a walk in my lunchtime. It is beautiful down here especially when the tide is in and the sun is shining. Nice hide. TFTC
