Our last day down Victoria so were grabbing the last few caches.Once collected information headed to GZ. The log was a little damp.TFTC
A pleasant day for caching in the Bairnsdale area and a little bit further afield.Mostly cloudy, occasional sun with no breeze, but it was pretty good for a Winter's Day.We found a good range of caches, learned some interesting things along the way, visited some great locations and discovered some nicely hidden caches. Thanks to Fredd01 for this multi. An interesting cemetery.
Could only just get it. Good fun though. Cemetery's are always an interesting visit. Thanks
6'4" and this was a bit of a stretch! Love looking at headstones from the 19th century! TFTC!
Maintenance has been completed. Cache was quite reachable by me - no special tools needed - just a slight stretch and all is good to go.

Sorry All,I lost my Mum on April 22nd and my family have had a fair bit to deal with AND on top of that I ended up with COVID 12 days ago. To say that I will get to this cache when I get there is probably the best I can do right now. I'm hoping to get to the East either this weekend or the next but that also depends on how the end of term/mid year school reports are progressing. YEP - it's been just a bit full on in my household and I'm not thinking about caching at the moment. So, once again, I will get there but just not right now.Cheers,Fredd01
----------###**CACHE OWNER PLEASE NOTE**###----------In these circumstances and for a number of reasons, if you cannot attend to an issue within a couple of days, then the correct log to use is a 'Disable' log, please. You will see I have disabled the cache on this occasion. Once you have rectified the issue and the cache is once again available, please post a Owner Maintenance log indicating what you have done and then enable the cache.
Thanks au.fait for the message. It will be a week or three before I'm in the East to check on this one and pull it up a little higher in it's hidey hole.
Found Jane and the required information. Headed to the amazing gz where I could see the cache but no way was my arm long enough TFTCFredd01
On a road trip to attend Capital Geobash Mega and see many different sights along the way. Today we had a big day walking and taking in some lovely areas. Thanks Fredd01 for creating for us all to enjoy. A nice little multi. LeeLee had previously liked final is. Picked up TB and left swap. ...................................................Are you ready to nominate in the **2023 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards**? Nice little multi in a nice little cemetery..GZ was also a nice little surprise..ample parking at both way points appreciated when meandering in the Geo van

Heading to Lakes Entrance for a family get away for Father's Day and had to stop for a cache on the way.
This looked like an interesting one and soon we were racing towards the final GZ. Son2 bet me to his location, but I selected the right GZ. However took too long to find this one and I only spotted it after walking away.
Thanks for the cache Fredd 01

It didn't pay to look at the hint first for this one although not far away. OHC and GT37 both spotted the cache at the same time. GT37 loved this and the other great rusty art that was spotted whilst driving around. Thanks for placing the cache for us to find.
Headed out east this weekend to visit some friends. So obviously a bit of caching to be done before and after.
Our GPSrs had us across the other side but eventually settled on gz where I climbed up to investigate something to no avail. Then hopped down to find the cache right there. Doh!
Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Fredd01

Everything here was spot on. The cache location was pretty interesting too. All the maths worked perfectly.
Gotta love a short multi. On our 5th year anniversary and plans got cancelled so grabbing a few odd caches in the area today. Loved the interactive graveyard search thing. I found it really interesting. Also think that the ability to cut roses for the graves is a beautiful gesture. One of the best graveyards I’ve been to. Absolutely beautiful. Tftc
This cache has been on my todo list for a while. Thanks for bringing me to a part of Gippsland I haven't been to. TFTC.
Nice! After a few miscalculations and much self-doubt, we eventually found it in a clever little spot. There was bad internet out here so be on the prowl. All in all an excellent find and our first multi cache. TFTC

Great multi, had a look around the cemetery before heading to the new location. Great hide. Tftc
With lockdown finally over, I quickly got my things in order and headed out to Deptford to camp for a couple of nights and enjoy some geocaching in the area.
Arrived yesterday afternoon and set up camp. Enjoyed the evening as I had the whole place ot myself. Woke up this morning and went on a short adventure.
Found the grave, worked out the calculations and a should have been an easy find at GZ. Except I couldn't spot it initially. I increased my search area until I spotted something that was out of place. Turns out, no that's a key, probably for the locked gate. Oops. Went back to my original location and BANG, there it was. Not sure how I missed it initially.

Stopped by for this multi on my way to lakes for some R&R nice little item at GZ to check out to. Tftc freddo1
Travelling to Lake Entrance ... a quick stop to visit here and work out before heading out to find the cache.
Brilliant!
I enjoy it

I love cemeteries, they go hand in hand with my other passion of genealogy, so this was a fantastic excuse to visit one we’d never explored before, and have a good wander around. With the required numbers in hand we were off to GZ where a likely hiding spot was quickly identified, and soon yielded the goods! SL TFTC
I'm sincerely sorry for the very late log, but just found some old caching notes and remembered that I hadn't logged a bunch.
We were out and about post lockdown and Malipara is always on the lookout for old cemeteries, especially when caches are involved.
Thanks for bringing us here and for the placement.

Outing to country for the weekend with beautiful and warm weather and had a great time finding your cache fav from me
Fredd01, thank you so much for placing it.
Fredd01, thank you so much for placing it.
The clouds broke for a minute, so we decided to give this one a go.
As the geo-kids and I drove towards the first part, I noticed a beautiful sculpture.... my daughter noticed a blue door
Once at the cemetery the kids and I enjoyed walking around and enjoyed the history that comes with this sort of location.
We were about 3/4 round, when I noticed the black clouds with lightning approaching from the east. We hastened our pace and found Jane's resting place. We soon had the clue, so we were going to do our calculations in the rotunda, but there was some people visiting nearby, so the car seemed a better option.
We soon figured out where we needed to go.... hmmmm seems familiar. The GPS had us on a random road, but then kicked in. The rain had started by this stage, so I pulled up my hoodie and went for it! Luckily I found it in quickly as the weather was definitely turning for the worse. I hightailed it back to the car to sign the log with the geo-kids. Then back into the rain to put the hide back into it's spot. 10 yr old thought I looked like a giant fish in the rain

This took us off the beaten track to solve a good off set multi.
Once coords in hand we decided to walk to the final when tow big Great Dane's came running,Barking out of a nearby property.
Quickly done a U turn and decided to get the car.
Once at the final GZ Cache was quickly in hand and signed.

Solved this multi a couple of years ago, but did not have the time to find the cache and always meant to come back. Well today was the day. Geodad made the find, so 3/3 for him today- Geomums caching senses are just not working. TFTC
Found with flowers_of_the_field on a gusty day while the kids flew kites back at the ranch.
I’d driven past a million times but never stopped. We got to visit an old friend who lives there too. RIP Ryan
Once the info was found we headed to GZ. It took a a while to spot the cache esp having read old logs. No monkey moves required.

Visited an old friend resting at the cemetery before finding the cache. Lovely.
Spent time paying my respects to an old friend buried here and then went a-hunting.
Found by Mary and David at 10:15:00. A FP here even before Mary got out of the GeoPrado. She loves cemeteries for the symbolism of the headstone designs, and the social history in the epitaphs. Good to see some money spent here. The oldest grave we found was dated 1888. Some lovely examples of wrought iron, and generally simple memorials. A beautiful angel for a 17 month old girl who was accidentally drowned. Several examples of clasped hands indicating reunion - one with a pretty cuff and the other with a plain cuff. Most appropriate GZ, with the symbol of life going on. Our thanks to Fredd01.

We do enjoy a Multi-cache and so we pulled off the highway to undertake this one. We soon found Jane’s grave at the waypoint given and then with the numbers required gathered we updated our GPS with the corrected co-ordinates and then after first finding the nearby Traditional cache we continued on towards Ground Zero where the cache was soon located. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
#15167. Robmc and I are spending a few days in Sale and surrounds and this was our first day. We had to brave the roadworks to Bairnsdale and beyond and I pity anyone who has to travel this road regularly. We managed to gather up a dozen smilies on the return trip.
I had noticed the bent cemetery sign on the corner on the trip out so was looking for it on our return. Off we went to gather the required information - it was a little cooler here today (about 20 degrees less than yesterday) so a jacket was actually needed to keep the wind at bay.
Off we went to GZ where I came up trumps. Nice spot to hide the cache.
Thanks greynomads

Our first day around Sale with BettBoo3747.
I needed to go collect some containers of archived caches, and we did a few on the way back.
Coming from Bairnsdale we noticed the interesting structure on the way in, we didn't realise we would have a better view of it on the way back out!
An interesting cemetery, but not so impressed with the new section down the front. The older graves look better.
We found Jane and calculated our numbers. We were soon off to GZ and a quick find.
Thanks, Robmc.

YAY - we found 'The dead Centre of .... Bumberrah??' today . Geodog Hydro and I enjoyed our wander through the cemetery to find Jane Brodribb's grave. The calculations for way point 2 were made and then plugged into the GPS and we set off to find GZ and the cache container. WOW - I've looked at this particular structure each time I've travel through this area. I was excited to be able to stop and have a very good look at it AND to find a cache container. Although to retrieve the container, I needed to complete a couple of monkey maneuvers to pull it out of it's hidey hole. The log was signed quickly and I placed the container into a hiding spot that doesn't need the next cacher to perform the same monkey moves as I needed to . Thanks greynomads for setting up this cache - we enjoyed the search and the chance to study the structure at GZ. A favourite point from me.

I think there should be more caches in old cemeteries- such interesting pieces of history.
Found the required stone quickly. Some calculations & a few minutes later on my way to GZ.
Well that was a challenge for someone who’s only 5’2” tall. No problems finding the prize - the trouble was reaching it.! Channeling my inner country girl, I was able to climb a little then with a little stretching had cache in hand.

OK, I think I'm all Earthcache-ed out. Time for a multi or two... for a change of pace, and, of course, to keep leafotwind's streak going.
We drove right in to the edge of the cemetery, and took the short walk in fading light, finding the right stone nice and quickly.
The coordinates looked good, so off we drove... Let's just say that GZ was fairly obvious as we pulled up. And I got a fantastic photo in the sunset.
Meanwhile, leafotwind had located the cache, but couldn't quite reach to grab it, so it was a team effort.
Thanks, greynomads... I'm always up for a graveyard multi.
---
Road trip!
leafotwind and I had meticulously planned a trip in the opposite direction to fill a few gaps on a variety of challenges, but with the weather forecast to be reminiscent of an Activities Week tour of all the wet holes in the southwest of the state when I was in high school, a mad scramble ensued to come up with a scheme to complement those goals towards the eastern border instead.
Crossing off a few of the Country Road Atlas maps, finding a March, 2001 placement and a whole lot of Earthcaches meant we got in to Mallacoota just before midnight.
We chased the Golden Dragon as far up the coast as we could on day two, visited soooo maaaany Earthcaches, but also discovered a passel of cool gadget caches in between. Well worth the trip just for those.
And now, the long journey home...

A fairly quick stop over on our way back to Melbourne to find a multi to keep my mini multi streak going. Although I spied the cache it was nirgalagrin who pushed that little bit further to extract it from it's hide.
A road trip east instead of west! nirgalagrin and I had been planning a trip out over to Mt. Gambier but given the forecast of rain, rain and more rain all through the weekend we scrambled to replan the trip aiming for the other side of the state. As it happened we went a little further than just the border and explored the NSW south-eastern coast. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches found along the way.

What was to have been a quick weekend trip to Melbourne to accompany leafotwind on his 3,000th cache find (since I had also recently completed the Victorian Premiers whereigo ) became an 8 day trip because there was a CITO [^] at Traralgon the next day which then led to Mallacoota and the Snowy Mountain Highway [^] since I couldn't legally use the Great Alpine Road as I didn't have snow chains because the boring freeway back to Melbourne and then back to Shepparton didn't sound like fun
The first day, I met my sister in Bendigo as she waited for her semi to be unloaded and reloaded, so we went op shopping in the meantime[:X] From there it was off to Melbourne and the group find of the Victorian Premiers whereigo which had taken me to many spots in Victoria [^] Then the group slogged our way up a slippery, muddy slope [|)][xx(] to get a couple of simple drive by 4 x 4 caches (when the tracks are open) before caching on into the night
I made a find on a previous DNF at Moe then it was off to Clean Up a Creek at Traralgon [^] followed by finding some bloody good caches (both containers and reasons for placement) around the area with leafotwind, NoWorries andAlphaDeltaIndigo [:X], chatting to Crisp image as the group found Wherever I Lay My Hat before Rex and I left the group, walking in the Crinigan Road Bushland Reserve at dusk[^], seeing a huge Dr21 dredger once used for coal mining and now placed at Morwell, finding a tiny grave in the middle of a shopping area , finding my 1st 3D printed cache container and then it was off to the Lakes Entrance area and wandering out on the peninsula[^]
Seeing old RAAF airfields and radio bunkers, seeing tiny country towns and meeting some great people (including an almost muggle woman and her children in Mallacoota where she had previously looked for 1 cache and who may now get into geocaching properly [^]), seeing the sun rise while surrounded by kangaroos and standing on the eastern coast of Vic and chatting with Rollmatrix throughout my time in Mallacoota and Genoa
Spending a few hours chatting with a lovely truckie, Michael [:X], who was on a wood chip run to Canberra as we traversed the countryside in the dark (after I had apologised for slowing down his fully laden rig as Harry crawled his way up a hill ) then I pulled into Cooma for a break and an EC and also found a cache, Southern Cloud, about the aircraft accident and then accidentally ended up at another memorial cache, Southern Comfort, Southern Cloud or Southern Storm, later on in the trip
Seeing brumbies amongst the snow along the edge of the road at night in the mountains in NSW [^], seeing a thermal pool early in the morning with steam rising from it in the cold air and water plants growing up from the sandy bottom [^], seeing the grave of the alleged Man from Snowy River while finding the multi The Man from Snowy River - HCPPP [^] and then chatting to SciFiRulz who I managed to sneak in a quick visit with before heading home and finding The Highest Railway Station on the way
Over the 8 days there was 9 DNFs (although I did manage to find a few on my 2nd attempts ), 1 CITO event attended and a total of 111 cache finds including 3 FTFs
As I am about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby

Stopped here after wetting a line in the Tambo, but had better luck here with our only cache for the day. We may get a souvenir, but not really worried one way or another. A walk around had us where we needed to be, a quick calculation gave us the coordinates and we were on our way. A nice easy find on this one today, all good as we replaced the cache and headed to Bairnsdale, then home.

Well I just had to do this one as It is based around Mrs.K's family history . Jane Brodribb was Jane Howlett b4 she married Andrew, funny well feel privileged this cache actually wanted info based on one of her ancestors . Anyway I did the sums ( off the gravestone ) and after Mrs.K finished taking digital photo's of the gravestones we moved to the final GZ and Signed logbook Kingfisherau 1/02/2018, 10:00 AM and replaced all as found,

The long weekend was here and it was time for fitzy_1965 and I to head down to Vic in the geo-unit for an epic geomission We had a great time camping, cruising around admiring the beautiful scenery and nabbing LOTS of caches! A great weekend of quality caching all round!
I do love a cemetery cache-so much history and I find reading the headstones fascinating! Gathered the info nice and easy and then it was a nice easy find of the cache after a short stroll.
Thanks for the neat multi, greynomads

14742. Found during a long weekend caching run down through the Bombala / Genoa / Mallacoota / Cann River / Orbost / Lakes Entrance / Bairnsdale regions with specimenX.
A long weekend caching plan was hatched with specimenX to head down to Victoria for 4 days of caching and camping. Had a fantastic time driving around enjoying the scenery, camping at various locations, plus the huge number of caches to be found. Day Three was here, and we packed up again and hit the road. Next find of the day. Gathered the info at WP1 - then headed to GZ for a quick find. Signed the log, returned the cache, and we headed off to the next cache.

Thought our w/e in the area may have been wet and wild however the wander in the dead centre of Bumberrah was very pleasant in bright sunshine. Found the required info at GZ without the GPS and completed the maths. Entered the data in the GPS and had another look at the maths. Oh! Then drove off to complete another cache. On the way back we found a lonely cache that was last found by If many months ago. Thanks greynomads for giving us an excuse to explore an area we have driven past many, many times.
A great spot to visit,
away from the highway
And after a tour of the stones,
I had recognised a lot of the local road and place names,
engraved upon the stones
The wabbits here are having a fun time !!
And will probably develop carnivorous tendencies,
if they keep gnawing on bones [:o]
With the coords calculated,
I headed for GZ,
and found a lovely bit of 'farm art'
Maybe the landowners have Portuguese ancestry ??

Today we headed to Sale using geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way and this was one of them. An easy at the end.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Not sure what Jane and Andrew would make of the game we play. That is one seriously ugly sculpture.. thanks..!!
Staying at our holiday house in Metung while having a week off work so I can go caching. Found this on a beautiful winters day with the sun shinning, I picked the right week to take off work. Talked to Jane & Andrew while gathering info thanked them for all there help and then it was off to gz where I think the arrow is pointing to where Jane is. Sl thanks Greynomads for the cache. Also took Tb
After having a walk around the older part of the cemetery we set about getting the required numbers. A quick drive to GZ found us at an interesting location and we soon had the container in hand.

We had been to Bairnsdale for "a Cuppa and a Cake". After meeting other cachers, the delightful day was ideal for resuming after our after a considerable hiatus in the caching of the "dragons and bears".
We found the correct stone after our usual wander around. The numbers were collected and the location of GZ entered into the GPSr. A short drive later and we arrived. The location seemed obvious, but a number of spiders had decided that we would have to do a little work to get the cache. Eventually we did so, and obviously took the "travel dragon" to spend some time with all our dragons. We left star wars storm trooper. SL.

Found on night geo with Tbelf after dinner at Bullant Brewery. Fun walking around cemetery in the dark!
Always wanted to stop here, why do we need excuses to see a bit of history!! TFTC
We love cemetery caches, and this one didn't disappoint! A muggle was whippersnipping the grass, but he paid us no mind. We gathered the numbers at wp1 quickly, and then headed to GZ. Thanks for the local history lesson and the cache.
Sure is. Quick solve of the clues and off to GZ but the gps did a little dance there so let the ego sense kick in an soon had the cache in hand. Tftc
Good way to start the day, the eighth day of our Gippsland Geocaching break, with a good quick multi. TFTC

On a beautiful sunny day we arrived at the cemetery and soon found the required information. When we realised GZ was a few more than " a few 100 metres" away, we both decided to make use of the facilities and were soon on our way to GZ by car. TFTC greynomads
Found it on the way to the "The FIRST annual geomas event"
