A warm sunny Labour Day geocaching at Western Sydney Parklands. What a top hide! Mrs Gaztek has a box at home similar to this. It's a shame to see a piece broken off because it's such a pretty little thing. GZ was muggle free if a bit snaky to walk to. A favourite for us and thanks for the entertainment today, dkmacca. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
It took me a while to find the container, as it was camouflaged really well! Props for the effort involved to make it. Once i had the beautiful puzzle in hand, it was relatively easy to solve. This is because i recently did another puzzle box that had a very similar mechanism. Just a warning to others: i came across 2 red bellies while walking to gz. Be very careful!Tftc
Another adventure out in West Sydney with OldMorty today. We were lucky it wasn't too warm today so snake free. Took longer to find the cache than to do the puzzle. Nice hide. TFTC!
OCW morty8888 in and around the Western Sydney Parklands. Morty8888 fiddled around with this one before handing it to me to have a go while he consulted Mr Google after which he soon had it solved. Dropped The Chocolate Geocoin. TFTC

Companions: None
Muggles: None
Weather: Lovely spring morning
Cache condition: Good
After running the nearby parkrun I searched for some nearby high-FP caches. I was careful walking through the grass, and didn't see any snakes or other nasties. Once at GZ I soon found the camo, and then the puzzle, which with some careful manipulation gave me access to the log. TNLNSL, thanks for a fun puzzle.

Loved the Camo on the outside of this one! The bush seems way more intimidating from the outset but there are lots of desire paths that'll point you in the right direction. Got the puzzle open relatively quickly

Looked around GZ for a few minutes before spotting it from just the right angle, love the camo! Puzzle was straightforward enough, although took longer than it should have because I didn't want to be too firm and damage it. TFTC, FP for both the camo and puzzle.
This cache sure doesn't get a lot of finds, but it's a really good one! We stood on the path, looking beyond the long, snake riddled grass towards GZ. Having seen a Red-bellied black snake in the grasses further north in this park a few years back, we were reluctant to enter, but throwing caution to the wind we decided to anyway.
A hundred or so meters later, of carefully stepping through the grass, no snakes were spotted and we were at the trees. A search revealed the secure container and the puzzle within. It was quickly solved and the log signed and returned. I took the 2 travel bugs, to give them a better chance in a more frequented cache.
TFTC! We enjoyed the tension of the entry/exit through snake grass and the puzzle. Favourite point from me!

The morning was a bit overcast and cool to start with, but that was good for going out caching with ilook4geo. This was not so hard to find after a bit of a cross country trudge. It was very pleasant being in the shade of a tree while working this one out, as the day had become quite hot. It took a bit of time and patience but everything worked out OK. The log was signed and the closing ceremony was performed. A favourite point for this cache with activity involved. Time to move on ..... Thanks for this hide go to dkmacca.
Nice cool start but the day got hotter as we cached the area with goingplaces2. Nice find here. All good with container and contents. Fav point added. TFTC.
I really wanted to find this today as years ago, I'd come past and done the others in the series with Altaire, this one however was amongst a see of water. Today it was a sea of very long grass. No matter I had my bike so just rode over the top of it all. Great camo. Found the tricky puzzle box and I surprised myself when I solved it rather quickly. Sadly one side has a piece missing but it doesn't affect the challenge. Some one must have pulled rather hard. I left 2 TBs. Great cache as always. Love your work.
Teamed up with 154Crows to find a variety of caches in the Western Sydney area. Thanks to all Cache Owners for their contribution to this recreational activity!
Took a minute or two to open the puzzle box. Thanks for sharing.

When Muppet95 suggested we spend part of the week-end in Sydney I cleared my calendar preparatory to blitz Saturday. We got a fairly early jump on the day, weren't long and we were Penrith-bound, and landed at our first stop by nine o'clock. The rest of the day was full on, completing ten Adventure Labs in the process, and made our way from Penrith up to Windsor, back to Blacktown via Riverstone and finally ending up in Ingleburn. Only a couple park n' grabs, several long walks, no DNFs, and one abandoned prospect as we discovered we were not prepared for a swimming find. All but a couple were adventures whether or not they were labs. I lost count of everything we did except that we made it back home before the local pizzeria closed at nine o'clock. It was a pretty good workout. Oh, and the weather was perfect. Thanks to all the COs for a great day!
Made the damp trek to GZ. Spotted the camo, then got to the puzzle easily enough. With some help from Google we soon had it open and signed the log. Have a FP. TFTC
Easily found, tricky to open, but got it and SL. OCW Brewmaker. An FP from me. TFTC dkmacca
Loved it, loved it, my husband stole my last move while I was on the phone, no respect!!!!!!
Fun find! Watch for the prickles. Found a trackable but hasn’t been logged at this cache.
I got off work early today and headed out to grab a cache.
It had been raining earlier but by the time i reached the park the sun was out.
This meant that while i had a nice stroll to the GZ my shoes and trousers got a bit wet.
At the GZ i checked out the different possible hiding spots before going back to the first place i checked and finding it there.
Ive done a few puzzle boxes before but not this one.
It took me a couple of minutes but i was able to open it.
After logging the tb i signed the log and returned as found.
The puzzle is in good condition and the log is dry.
Thanks.

TFTC. OCW MF428 & Geodog Atlas. Took a TB which wasn't listed as being in the cache.
Found with Can'tFindAuntyM! She took a trackable and we dropped one off. Very exciting for the kids, puzzling for us, had us stumped for a while. Felt very proud when we finally held the log. There was even a cheer. First log for 2020, TFTC!!
TFTC we took the trackable and dropped off a trackable. Very exciting for the kids, had us puzzled for a little while, but very proud when they did. First log for 2020! Happy new year!!

Followed the roadside from the entrance to the park, and then in the payh heading north. Left the path without really finding a track through the grass, but the bush bashing was easy.
At GZ we immediately spotted the cache, which was opened and the contents admired.
It took just a few tries to get the container to open up its innermost room, where the log was found and signed.

Out and about and had spotted this one long ago but was never the right time or place to get to the log until today. The long grass made things a little cautious but no unwanted items spotted or heard. The outer contain was soon spotted and fortunately we made all the right moves or is that left moves to get to the log. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
We cycled along the track and then walked 100m to this cache. Great camo. Then Sue got the job of solving the puzzle whilst Dan got his camera out. Fortunately she solved it before having to resort to giving it to Dan. He was happy. TFTC
Geobiking day around Western Sydney Parklands. Thanks dkmacca for this amazing series. 18 founds and 4 DNF.

This was Renski's first experience with a puzzle box. It required a gentle touch and we managed to get it open with the minimum of fuss. TFTC

TFTC ! I found this yesterday with Lela_lala & our geobabies my phone was dead so couldn't log at the time. This was my 2nd puzzle box find, tricky but didn't take too long to get to the log. what a fun find!
OCW Sensible Shoes and Shoes Junior. Once we got the cache out of its hiding spot we started on solving the puzzle. After a bit of fiddling around Mum managed to open the box. TFTC
Great hide! Our first of this style of puzzle box - such fun. MsS claimed "fiddler's rights" on this one and counted her way in with everyone's help. This has been a fave-point expensive day! Lucky we have plenty to spend!
Loved the cache and we solved it without clues. And we also saw a deer next to the cache. It jumped away when we approached. A fav from me. Thanx
Cache nr 13 on this lovely Saturday. Figured out the ouzxle and signed the cache. As a bonus we saw a deer on our way to the cache. TFTC

Time is ticking by and I still need 40+ finds before earning the last of the Hidden Creature souvenirs. Was originally planning to do the Richmond Rd trail but spotted this one and figured it would be a great day for a bike ride.
After discovering that there was no easy access to The Culvert from here, back tracked to this one. Took me quite a while to find the container. Actually a bit longer that it took me to solve the field puzzle.

With an ever slight nudge of a hint of "do I have to solve this at home or not" and a quick reply from CO, both myself and hubby Outie555 drove from our romantic breakky at a cafe to the Parklands.
Arrived at the park and discussing what was in the fenced area and why there were 3 levels of security here.
Continued on following the creek/ drain area toward the tree.
A scout around some vines 15m out from gz then spotting a possible hide spot.
Saw container from 3m out.
We bothed loved the camo on the container and the care/construction of the container.
Hubby solved the container facing away from me so as not to spoil it.
10m later he solves it the gave me the container back closed while I solved it myself. He signed the log for us.
Another 10m and I solved it. I was so scared not want to break the container. But I did eventually solve it.
Log dry. Log new. So much room on log...
This earnt a fp from me.
Absolutely brilliant.

Awesome container despite the hundred of beetle guardians, to reveal a very clever puzzle box. Took a few minutes, and worthy of a favourite. Thanks for the cache!
This cache seemed to have an ability to evade the line of my eyes. I will return another time and hopefully outwit this cache.
My guess is that the puzzle box is at the posted coordinates, but I could be wrong.

I'm putting a note down as I was hoping to do this cache on the Western Sydney Parklands tour de dkmacca. But we were running short on time and given how long it took me to open some of the traditional caches around I was worried how long this one might take me! Looking forward to returning. It's lovely around here
#4247- I had been out this way with thomo31 only a few weeks ago and pretty much cleaned up everything in the reserve, except this one.
After doing Puzzle Box#1 long ago, the thought of another one filled me with trepidation. You see, for it, I managed to get it apart, but with fading light in the afternoon it was more of a fluke than anything that I actually managed to get it back together. In fact, I was just about to call dk, when it finally worked.
So when bikerbuddy suggested this one today, I was..... hesitant to say the least.
It was a true team effort, I found the container, and we set to trying to work it out, with me reaching already for some help, but by the time I found what I needed, bikerbuddy, who has more patience with this sort of thing than I, was almost there.
Thanks heavens! Signed and put back together and we headed back to the car.
So three dk caches for me today, out of bikerbuddy's 13, as I'd already done all the rest. Thanks- getting the rest of yours done slowly mate....Puzzle Box#3 I'll save for another day. Only four dk caches to go now.....two of which are a bit further afield....
Sad to see that my teething puzzle box has been muggled- hope it's up again soon.
Oh, and a favourite from me... Thanks

This was our last cache of the day. After this we had a walk back to the car and that was about enough for the WaywardWoman’s bad knee today.
We wandered across the grass and the GPS counted down to zero. I was ahead of the WaywardWoman, who doesn’t move as fast as me, so I took a preliminary look about, but failed to find the cache. I hadn’t taken notice of the full title of the cache, otherwise I wouldn’t have spent about two minutes looking about before the WaywardWoman finally called that she found the cache.
But that was only one half of it. We still had to open the box. This is not something I have had much practice with. However, I gave it a go and had it opened within a few minutes, so at least I made that contribution to the logging of this cache. Thanks for this and all the other caches we found today that you own.

I initially went to the wrong tree but once on track it took a bit of push and pull, slip and slide and the log was revealed.

On this Sunday there was a doggie-day out at Owen Street, organised by the Schnautzer Rescue Dog organisation.
After a bit of walking around, enjoying the many other dogs and the demonstrations we walked across the field to this cache. From the paved area, it was still about 100 meter to the cache through snake territory. So stomping our feet we walked over to the Paperbark tree.
The well camouflaged cache was quickly found, and once opened we noticed the Japanese puzzlebox.
We were amazed at the craftsmanship, where it is nearly impossible to see which pieces should move. My companion found all the moves, clicks and slides and then the cache revealed itself. What an awesome hide! Definitely a favourite point.

My geofriend help me to puzzle.... look cool ... zoom to found cache... oh no!!! Look all damage.. show photo... please repair .......put fav..... thank
Found it a while ago and forgot to log it. The box was extremely wet and we couldn't open the box.
Sorry to say but the recent big wet has got into the cache and soaked the puzzle box dissolving some of the glue and swelling the box . It fell apart in my hands. Put back as much as possible.

Adding my favourite point to the list for two reasons. 1) I loved the cache container and the extra camouflage around it. 2) It's always most enjoyable to find something that tests the mind and this one did just that. Top work young Macca!

Loved it, loved it, loved it. The walk in was a bit weird and we weren't sure we were on the right "track" but it took us to GZ. There were two possibilities here and it seemed that technology was pointing us towards what eventually we discovered was the wrong one. Found the well camouflaged container (nice one) and I was overjoyed to see what was inside - I know what to do!!! I had grown up with one of these (I remember it being bigger, but I was a lot smaller then so it's probably all relative). I soon had the container open and the log in hand, of course out of sight of Calypso62 so he could have a go whilst I completed the signing duties. Done and done, and onto the next. Thanks dkmacca, a favourite for the camo, the box and the idea!
This one was tricky in the dark...
Phone torches did the trick tho, I wouldn't suggest trying to find the cache at night unless you like spiders.. Ten points for the puzzle box!
Found this with the redginator
