Out here with the family, for some abseiling at Gordon Dam. The weather was a "typical Tassie day", wind, rain, sleet and sunny all in one day. Abseiling was fantastic. We stopped on the way out using the shelter for a late lunch. 3 sets of eyes could not find the cache. After looking at the hint we believe we had found the correct area and the likely spot but no cache. Lovely place so thanks for making us spot here.

This geocacher reported that the cache might be missing.

Wow, stunning area. Thanks for guiding us here with the cache!

04-Mar-17
It was interesting to read the story in the shelter here about how this place got its name.
It was late in the afternoon when we arrived and quite a few had set up camp here but we decided to head back to the boat ramp where the camping was free. Happy hour looking out over Lake Peddar on such a gorgeous day was one of the highlights of our trip to the area.
Strategically parked the campervan near GZ while we grabbed this cache.
Thanks.

Quick find while hubby went fishing

What a great place to camp (if one was into camping). Drove to Strathgordon today to check out the lakes. Pedder is beautiful.
The cache isn't so great! There was some water in it and the log book, although in a ziplock bag, was soaking wet. Tipped out the water and replaced the cache in an upright position as it was lying down when found thus allowing a greater chance for water to get in through the lid.

TFTC Probably wouldn't have checked out Ted's Beach if it hadn't been for your cache, so hanks also for showing us this great little spot.

Left the geo van at Left of Field and went west exploring - as we do, and caching along the way. A beautiful day, promising to be around 20 degrees, 10% chance of a shower. We took our chances - and a bbq lunch! Smile

Need to stop here, the toilets beckoned, along with the promise of a fairly remote cache. The ranger was cleaning the bbq's the toilets were clean, and we parked across the access to GZ. I found the hide quite quickly despite walking into water. NOTE: do not go beyond he hint!

Geohub returned from the toilets, I pointed out the hide, we signed, returned, and continued on our way. Thanks Tassie Trekkers for a great location.

Tassie Trekkers some time ago I had driven into the car park to find this cache but it was occupied by campers. Today there was no one around so I made a quick find before exploring the beach.

Strathgordon in June – magnificent! Although the temperate was low 8° today there was no wind and it was very pleasant searching for the caches in this area. The sentinels were wonderfully colourful and partly obscured with mist as were the other mountains and the green reflections in the lakes were quite different to those of you see in the summer months. We only saw one other car on the road from Maydena to the Lake Pedder Chalet but there were three cars at the Gordon Dam.

Ted’s Beach is a favourite spot and after visiting the dam we returned here for lunch where another couple of visitors from northern NSW were also having a cuppa. We conversed with them for a while and once they had departed a quick and easy find was made. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for placing the cache in such a wonderful area.

We have returned from Canada to discover a few more Australian caches! What a great way to explore the Land Down Under" ...
Lots of caravans and campers here, so we strategically parked our vehicle using it for cover.

16-Dec-14
Beautiful beach, and very interesting reading about how it was constructed! Cache was a bit tricky to retrieve and nearby a jackjumper nest, but otherwise found without any problems. Was a relief to find after a bunch of DNF's in the area. Nice cache, thanks!

21-Sep-14
It was muggle central here today, due to the number of people in the area for the open day at the Gordon Power station. Luckily most of them were looking out across the lake, admiring the view, rather than taking any notice of what we were doing foraging in the rocks. TFTC unfortunately the electric bbqs in the area were not working, so people wanting to use them were disappointed.

Hi Again
From the connection to Teds Beach didn't take very long.
Found the cache quickly but because of the little stream (created by the wet weather) below the rock, I extracted the cache from above and not beside. The cache was logged at 1212hrs.
Have had a lot of fun here with the trout and a fly rod on many an occasion.
A spot all cachers should visit if not only for the cache but for the views too!
Thanks for another *FTF*
Cheers OldSaint.
