Woke early this morning and decided to head north to pick up a cache to complete the May challenge north of Brisbane. There were also a couple more need for my next DT Loop so it was a perfect storm to head north. After picking up a few lab caches in the area to warm up I soon moved on to physical caches in the area.Arriving at ground zero the cache was soon in my sights, log extracted and signed before replacing back carefully for the next lucky cacher.A big thanks to the cache owner for placing this cache for the enjoyment of others.Cheers

The third cache for the afternoon, it took a bit longer here but I got it. Had a slug guardian living on it! Thanks Konie!

80th cache and last for 2023. The walk down there was nice apart from the puddles which I managed to get through keeping my socks dry we saw a really cool lizard being attacked by crows which It then scaled a tree and sat at the top of. As we approached the cache I spotted a stone wall on where it could be placed and ran through the bush checked through a couple of rocks and bingo I grabbed the cache and then screamed as there was a massive spider sitting pride of place onto top of the cache I tried to get the spider of by rolling the cache but the spider ran laps around it after a minute I grabbed a stick and flicked the spider off causing it to run at me and across my ankle I was then screaming climbing the stone wall. After the spider thing I opened the cache and signed the log placed a TB in the cache took a photo and replaced the cache. FP given as it was a really dramatic and interesting cache. TFTC.

I had just ventured to a few nearby puzzle caches, when I thought I would detour past this cache before returning to the car. With the TOTT stashed in a bush, it allowed me to jog to GZ, and then venture off the path, where I had a reasonably quick find of the cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [Konie](https://coord.info/PR1NM36) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------Today, I joined [georode](https://coord.info/PR2V198) on a trip north to the Sunshine Coast, with the Caloundra [Midday Meetup at Kings](https://coord.info/GCAF30H) event providing us with the motivation for our northern drive. Before meeting [georode](https://coord.info/PR2V198), I visited a few targeted puzzles in Bells Creek that I hadn't solved until recently, and it was a longer walk than I had appreciated. We then tree-fished a few geocaches in Baringa, before meandering through the vicinity before joining the event for lunch. We both had notional times to finish our day mid-afternoon with either promises made to the family or home chores to perform, so we utilised our remaining time visiting *Howzat?!* cricket series geocaches that we had solved, in addition to the three newly published *MakkuMob* geocaches.

Heading to Caloundra to meet up with caching friends and stopped off to get a few Smilies along the way. This wasn't too hard to get to but I would hate to go there during the week aa there would be trucks everywhere and no parking. Log signed and cache replaced as found. TFTC

1:33:00 PM. A call from the CO that he was heading down to replace the cache. So I tagged along to make sure we didn't have cache blindness when we couldn't find it. After another search it was decided it was missing so after signing the new log cache was replaced and hidden. Thanks for the cache Konie.

While attending E_Smiley's GIFF Event, I became aware that she was arranging some assistance with a particular TOTT required for a particular cache that I also needed to complete a loop of my D/T grid. A plan was therefore hatched to meet up with domsky for a day of caching fun.

We had no difficulty in locating the cache, and with our names added to the log book, we continued on our way.

Thank you Konie for creating the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy Big Grin

There must be a huge demand on the Sunshine Coast for concrete… there is enough choice here… and by the signage I have to think there is a crime spree happening on the Sunnie Coast….

PirateLinda and I found GZ easily and soon after the nice sized cache…

Left AUS 2 CAN Tb that is trying to get back to Gympie… tftc…

Anyone want to buy some fencing or aluminium boardwalk… let PirateLinda know…

I love that geocaching helps you find some amazing little locations, beautiful walk and an easy find with the Mrs it is however disappointing to see that someone has come and stolen a bunch of the council /path fences (there’s large signs saying someone stole the fences) the nerve of some people! Thanks for the search Smile

Amazed to find this infrastructure here, especially the shelter with picnic tables. It feels like they were going to develop the wetlands further but haven’t yet. With the help of the hint, this was a nice easy find in this almost secret-feeling location.TFTC Konie

Found at 12:01 PM GAFF1.
On my way to find the Konedoku cache, I decided to make a slight detour (backwards) to find this cache and after a few minutes I was at GZ and wondering how the heck am I going to get in there without bush bashing Surprised
So after considering my options, I decided that a lot has changed in the last 7 years since this cache was placed and I just had to go in and bush bash, which makes this cache slightly more than a T1.5 these days.
However with excellent co-ords I was able to hone in on GZ and find the cache in the first spot that I looked in Big Grin
Thanks Konie

31-Mar-21
Found after completing some nearby puzzles. Found the replacement container, aided by a pen left above where it was hidden, pen worked so left it in the cache. Someone else had signed the log a few days ago. Thanks for the cache Konie.

**Found 26/03/2021 at 3:47:53 PM Smiley #1151 Big Grin**

Picking the geokiddos up from their mum this afternoon, had some time to kill before hand, so thought I'd target this area. Bring the mozzie spray! I did not and certainly paid the price.

Certainly needed some bush bashing to get to this one, however once in the clearing the cache was quickly in hand. All in good condition

Thanks for the cache **Konie** Big Grin

23-Oct-20
Native tibouchinas in flower alongside the path, looking lovely. After a suitably scratchy hunt I was presented with the cache. While just about everything in the cache is dry, the (original) logbook is sodden (and I didn't spot the replacement sheet). My usually write-on-anything scribble stick said nope to the sodden log. I managed to engrave a couple of Ws on the front page. TFTC Konie.

Out for a day of caching with Mr CuriousQuest. After finding some nearby caches, we stopped of to make a quick find here. TFTC

01-Aug-20
A kayaking morning with Team Tyrrell which saw us up at stupid o’clock was now completed, on our way home I mentioned I had a few puzzles I had solved and needed to collect and would he be interested in joining me for the walk, sure why not. I had solved these on a previous caching weekend in Hervey Bay.

We parked in the industrial park and headed in, a nice walk and having been in this area before I had a good idea as to where to go. We grab the puzzle caches and headed back to the cars. On the way back we noticed a trad nearby and decided to grab it as well, never let a quick cache go by. A short walk to gz and a little walk off the path, the hint was spot on. We found the cache and saw a damp log and a new log dry log. Team Tyrrell grabbed the trackable and with the log signed and cache returned as found we were off to travel home.

Thanks for placing this one here for us to enjoy.

Whilst out on a kayaking expedition today with Chamad, we decided to call in this area on the way back to Brisbane and tick off a few of the puzzles hanging around. There are some great D/T grid numbers to be collected here.

This was a nice easy find today after a bit of rummaging around in the scrub. The main log book was very wet but luckily there was a spare in the cache container.
Trackable picked up to continue its travels.

Thanks CO.

We strolled on down the path to GZ and headed into the bushy area where we signed the doodle pad for our 2000th cache find! Thanks Konie for placing this cache here. A milestone reached for us.

We have left a trackable!!

Realised that we'd passed really close by from the other direction, so stopped at the end of the nice concrete walkway and walked back 270 metres to make this find. As we were making our way to the cache we saw the end of a black reptilian tail disappearing into the grass, and on the way back got a much better look at the owner of the tail, as a red-bellied black snake was spread over the path and lazily slid back into the undergrowth as we approached.
The old log book is completely sodden but the new one is fine. A lovely big cache with lots of goodies. Thanks for the hunt!

11-May-20
Umm. Yes this one that I made smallwombat retrieve. It was a little beyond help in the beginning, but has I had bought my proper geo bag, i had spare everything.so we cleaned out cache, cleaned what we could and replaced into new dry bags. All good when we left. Tftc

10-May-20
This cache was sort of a consolation prize, after plans to collect some nearby puzzles went belly up..
mum and the aunt not keen on a half km swamp bushbash, we instead settled for this nice clean walkway hidden from everybody and thankfully shown us with a cache, brilliant. thanks for that konie.
contents were waterfilled and manky sadly, which is disapointing considering the cache itself.
we spent some time cleaning everything, drying swag, the logbook has ah, seen better days.. we left another one, and new ziplocks for stuff. only thing truly unsalvagable was a mini card deck.
hid away afterwards, this time hopefully sealed properly, and good deed done, we were back on the path towards lunch next.
this makes for find number 2225.

I was caching on the Sunshine Coast with the geoteen today, collecting smilies and clearing areas on the map. I parked up nearby and made the short walk to gz. A bit of bush bashing and a short search and I had the container in hand. Tftc Konie Big Grin

Nephew Ben (11) and I found this yesterday. Well hidden, but take note of the hint. It was a fantastic help. As others have said, watch your step - muddy and watery in places (even in the midst of this never-ending drought). Inside the cache was a small amount of water that had soaked into just about everything. The log book (wrapped in a damaged zip-lock bag) was fortunately dry. We signed and dated the log book and placed into a clean and dry zip-lock bag we’d brought with us. We removed 3 or 4 of the more water-damaged tokens (paper cards and fridge magnets). We replaced these with a dozen tiny treasures (all different, great for kids to find) in the plastic bag that we first found the log book in. Hopefully the layer of plastic will help them stay dry. This cache was a wonderful find and it was great to go exploring in a new part of Caloundra we hadn’t seen before. Thanks very much for this fun cache!

Got Message from Gannysmith1947 last night. Where are we caching tomorrow. I sent back a message to say. Up on Sunshine Coast Hinterland there a new Virtual. Need to do. Also FTF is still available.

So of we go in the morning. We got lucky. Got the FTF available and pickup few other caches to.

Staying in an AirBnB on Ascot Way so had to look for a few close caches. Out for an early morning walk. So many great walkways and parks. Only downside were the mosquitoes. Thanks for bringing us here. GPS spot. TFTC

06-Feb-19
I had found myself up this way because I needed to stop for a tele-conference (the things we do).

I had a look on the map afterwards and noticed two nearby offerings and decided to go for them. I parked my car 100m or from the entrance and motored in.

I did marvel at this little path.. and the picnic tables.. which seem to have never been used. I also wondered what the wetlands would look like in coming years.. and whether it would be all swallowed by development.

I turned off the path when the smartphone indicated and made my way in. I am not sure what the adjoining private land looked like when the cache was placed, but it has now been levelled and it looks like something is going to be built.

But the cache is not on private property and I was able to search for and find the handsome beast easily. I signed the log and returned the cache to its home safely.

A great excuse to get out and stretch the legs. TFTC Konie Smile

Saw a kangaroo from the pathway that leads to GZ. On the way out we saw the same chaps shooting arrows at a pig (life size and very realistic looking pig) that someone else saw back in April. Must be their regular shooting spot.

This was interesting, as the cap had been screwed back on and cross-threaded. It wasn't coming off for anything no matter how hard I tried. Hmm, what else could I try out here!? Then as I red faced and tried again, oops...dropped it, and the lid popped off. Phew. Signed and replaced. TFTC! #657

02-Apr-17
We were driving past a couple of dudes shooting arrows nearby and at first I thought we might have to walk past them to get to this cache. This would mean a hike through some long grass and if we copped an arrow in the back it would be a while before our bodies were discovered.

As I turned the car around and pondered what to do, the geodaughter said "Why don't we just take that footpath you have pulled up next to". Life is good when you make an accidental mistake and it works out. We took the path and avoided our pointy-shooting friends whilst heading towards GZ.

It was clear from the recent storm that the area had been underwater in the last couple of days but today there was only a small-stream running. We jumped over it "to the extreme" and the daughter grabbed the cache. The outside was really muddy which we cleaned up a bit but the log was bone dry. Hurrah! We signed the log and returned to the car. It was clear we had put the pressure on our pig-shooting friends because they had evacuated the area and we could leave in peace. tftc
