Joint find with jdog&puppy and bigt&toof. Visiting family .. R.I.P to loved ones
Taurus Six and I started the day from Katanning after spending a lovely evening there last night , after a day of geocaching through the Wheatbelt yesterday. It was a very cold morning and constantly threatening to rain. After a hearty breakfast at the Dome we had a walk around the township this morning collecting a couple of Adventure Lab elements before hitting the road . Our geocaching plan for the day was to clear up caches and Adventure Labs around the Katanning area then do a circuit through Broomhill then back round to Kojonup before meandering our way back to Bunbury geocaching along the way . There was an array of different caches, and areas to explore and all in all it was another very enjoyable days geocaching .This is our first cache find of the day along with a nearby Adventure Lab. We are very happy here to turn a previous blue frowny into a happy yellow smiley. Today the cemetery was very quiet which gave us time to search ,but did not need too much time . Thanks for the cache find Joss Taylor.
The dead centre of Katanning has something we haven't seen before and I loved it... the flowers lining the top of the front fence. I was so taken with it I forgot I was supposed to be looking for an entrance. On our way to GZ we were amazed at the stunning chain around the enclosed graves. It's a solid chain and weighs a ton but it appears someone else must have been impressed with it too it as there was some missing. There's a lot of places to look at GZ and eventually we found the right one. A most interesting spot... TFTC josstaylor.
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 47 - Katanning Day. The morning was spent having a break while the car was getting serviced, and unlike in Canberra, cleaned. When I collected it after lunch not only was there nothing wrong, it was shiny again. Having been in Katanning this trip already, I have done all the close into town caches, so I did a few a bit further away. A lovely wetlands walk and a cemetery. Then another reserve near a sadly mostly empty dam. I was back at the van in time to do todays logging today. Off to Bunbury tomorrow.I can see why this is a hard cache, you have to be at the right angle to see it. Finding it was only one part of the problems. The tube was empty, so back to the car for some more paper. Container replaced. Thanks for the cache josstaylor47662.3 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2008 Compass Rose Silver A#101**Albida**
Another nice easy find for kiwinic and i, theres something almost therapeutic about cemeteries. TFTC
We stopped here on the way into town. We thought it may have been tricky but it was a quick find. Put back as we found. Not sure if it was supposed to have other camo on it.Thanks for placing and maintaining these caches
Quick find luckily as a funeral procession arrived just as we were signing the log. Tftc
Out and about again, nice early start and didn’t want to get out of the warm bed. Covered a lot of km as haven’t been to some areas ever, and some not in a very long time. Cleaned up a fair few today after getting back not long before the Caching event.
Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds today
Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides I found.

On another fun geocaching adventure with woolwood9.
Most caches found today were quick finds with a few requiring some searching.
Heading towards Albany but taking the "as many geocaches as possible on the way route"
It got to 35 degrees and there was lots of dust on the side roads.
SL *tm/ww NZ*
*Thanks for all the effort put into setting up this cache for us to visit!*
I looked all around the hiding location and was just about to give up when ww9 came over from making a sandwich. I said "looks like a really tricky one I don't think we can afford the time it might require to find" - ww9 said "really!, it's just there" and pointed to it!

Today the geocaching mission for TaurusSix and myself was to leave Bunbury very very early and head to the Kojonup and Katanning areas to try and obtains FTF’s for the many new caches that had come out yesterday. We had noticed them on Friday evening so decided to change our plans for Saturday and give them a go. As we were nearing Kojonup we still thought we were in luck as they had not been logged and the red FTF was still showing on the app. Expectatantly at gz we jumped out of the car only to find the first one had been found already. We must of only been a few minutes behind. As we refreshed the app we could see another cachers was heading from the opposite direction claiming the FTF.
Never mind though and well done to all the cachers who got there first.
It was still a great day for us , the drive was really pleasant and the sun rise was quite spectacular. Thanks Boyzrule5 for placing all these new caches and the interesting history lessons about the series.
Alas we searched and searched for this one with no luck.

Had to try to find this one previously with no luck, saw it had been found a couple of time recently so thought I would try my luck. Slightly away from area I had previously focused my search on, cache was found.

Working my way down to WAGB21 and collecting a few LGA.s and hopefully a pile of smileys along the way. Thank you to the CO’s for maintaining their caches.
On the road to WAGB picking up caches along the way. This is going to be a biggg weekend! Thank you to the COs for placing these caches and maintaining them.
Chwiliwr and I were headed to Albany for the WA Goes Big weekend but not via a direct route. This was one of the caches that we found on the way.
Cache found without problems. Log signed and cache returned as found.
Thanks josstaylor for placing this cache for us to find.

Temporary. come back and replace tube on the ground. Nice Katanning cemetery. Thanks for the cache and hunt.
So we tried to find this one yesterday and after searching for nearly 40 mins we gave up. Last night as I went to log a DNF I noticed that someone had found it mere hours after we left. With renewed determination we headed back this morning and after another 15mins of fruitless searching, happened to notice it lying on the ground. We signed the log, but with no way of knowing where it came from, we improvised a hide. Hopefully it stays safe. So glad we get to add this smiley to our list... it certainly made us work for it.
We managed to get a small log into this one but the lid is missing and may need to be checked out.
We hadn’t been on a road trip for a while so the long weekend provided an opportunity to do a bit of planning and set a course for Katanning. After a restless night in the tent due to rain and wind we were up and on the road early heading towards home. This cache was one we had targeted for the trip. Cheers and TFTC.
G’day there josstaylor, I was in this area today and found your cache Dead Centre of Town GC4GM55. I added my name to the log book at 8:01 am on 1 March 2020. A huge thanks to you for placing this cache here for us (and others) to find!

We must have struck lucky with this ingenious hide as we went straight to it, or maybe we have found so many of this C.Os over the weekend that at long last we have his M.O. sorted. Thank you for everyone one of them. We hope that you are still caching as you have certainly provided some enjoyment for us this Easter
I am down south again for the second weekend in a row, this time with the Geoson for a bit of a boys weekend. Stayed in Bunbury of the Friday night then headed for Walpole for night 2.
Headed home via Albany.
Spotted far quicker than I was expecting by the geoson. Nice concept. All safe and dry.

Travelling Australia since March 2014 now we are making our way west for a visit with family.
Stayiing in Dumbleyung for a few days, today we headed out for a drive in the countryside using Geocaching as a guide. Around lunchtime we found ourselves in Katanning!
Some interesting hides and some very busy urban hides which we havent tackled for a while. Yet a fun day out and about.
TFTC and sharing this part of WA with us josstaylor

There's not many towns that don't have a cache in a cemetery but at least this one wasn't a dreaded multi!!!
Mr Beetle found this one fairly quickly that heavens as there was a really cold wind chilling us to the bones here. So much for heading to the 'big island' to escape the Tassie winter!!!
This one had no log sheet in it so we put in a temporary piece of paper. Suspect it may fall out again though as the cap is missing off this nice hide.
Thanks.

Very happy to make a very quick find here as it is 5pm and we need to get back to our caravan that we left in Wagin.
Did a 2 day trip down south with the hubby to pick up some caches. We picked up our first cache in Narrogin then went to Highbury, Wagin, Dumbleyung, Katanning, Broomhill, Tambellup, Frankland, Pemberton, Bussellton, Dunsbourgh and finishing off in Bunbury. A great 2 days of caching with some great sights to be seen along the way. Thanks to all the CO,S for placing these caches.
We were prepared for a bit of a search but spotted this one fairly quickly! Great camo and love that you can search with no one around! TFTC Josstaylor, it's a good one!
Second time around trying to find this one needs a good eye to spot great cammo TFTC
We had a little bit of time to visit town and find some caches so targeted some of the more difficult ones. This one was first. The GPSr took us to one location and once it settled it bought us back to another spot and we spotted some camo and soon had the log out for signing. Tricky hide. TFTC
Brilliant is all I can say!! We looked for a few possibilities, then something caught our eye. On closer inspection, yes...there it was. Well done josstaylor on a great cache placement. Fav point added.
Out and about on a two day road trip through parts of the Great Southern with grandma allinaday. We visited many interesting spots and saw lots of interesting things. We also found many great caches, so TFTC and the fun we had searching for them.
Found it. TFTC Josstaylor. I signed as "P-P 17-11" came here to visit my two younger brothers who passed away in the 50's. The cache, Now this is a sneaky hide. I just noticed something that for some reason just didn't look right. You may need a log retrieving tool also.

pug002 found it on 24/4/2016 Yee ha as CO said this was the hardest, really exceptional cache we loved it. Absolute fav from us. TFTC josstaylor
Even with the new coords, we still couldn't find it. The difficulty rating is high so obviously a sneaky cache however maybe a cryptic clue of some sort would be helpful?? Would like to find this one someday!

We too came up empty handed. the CO needs to update the coordinates on the cache listing page.
Plug in the new co ords looked around for 20 minutes and no luck maybe today is just not my day will keep a eye on it
The tree that has been cut down was the location of the cache. Will fix it ASAP.
I cannot maintain this cache just at the moment, though I have been advised that trees have been cut down in the area. This may have possibly damaged/destroyed cache
Lost but not forgotten. TFTC. Tor and Betsy, the travelling Westies roaming WA at present. We are from Oxenford near the Gold Coast in Queensland and thoroughly enjoying the West.
Aww yeah finally got it! Both my phone and gps went nuts here so I really had to use my head it does however need a new log though as it is now full. TFTC!
