As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

I noticed that this cache has been in need of owner maintenance for an extended period of time well in excess of the period of "a few weeks" as contemplated by the cache guidelines published on Geocaching.com. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other caches from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it (using the archive listing link in the upper right) so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location.

If you plan on repairing this cache, please log a note to the cache (not email) and then repair the cache within the next 30 days so I don't archive the listing for non-communication/action.

Out and about with the Mini Future Finder so we had to stop for a find and a play. The FF had a good long play because I just couldn't find it! I correctly deduced the hint but the cache just wouldn't appear. I widened the search area, went back to GZ, further widened the search area, went back to GZ etc but to cache. If the FF wasn't having such a good time I would have given up. Finally found after a good half hour of searching. Cheers for the hide!

Quick find, although a bit of stealth required when the site is occupied... tftc

Out walking early to get this cache. Thankfully the drizzle was keeping other early walkers away while we searched. Seemed to take an age to find this one as we were clearly on the wrong wavelength. Nice to make the find eventually. TFTC.

To all who might want to find this cache.

this is a cache in a PARK, it is no surprise, it is stated in the details. There are houses around and there are families who frequent the park.
We have young children who love geocaching so the intent of this cache was for families with small kids to have something fun and easy to find, with easy access and a "reward" of being able to play at the end, as our own children like to do.

If are you a single male who doesn't want to look like a dodgy paedophile (or whatever other comments we are being left), don't do this cache! It's quite simple really.
Our girls were very excited to place this cache and it certainly doesn't help receiving comments such as the one below (that has now been edited thankfully)

Location: North Island, New Zealand
Trout-fly found (Replaced) Burried Treasure (East Auckland) (Traditional Cache) at 8/9/2013

Log Date: 8/9/2013
Possibly the worst placed hide Ive found.

In a nutshell, if you don't like it, stay away.

To all others, have fun!

Fairy quick find after bumping my head on some of the equipment [B)] Mrs Kiwi soon came up with the goods. Cache number 7 for the August Challenge. TFTC

Came late one night again while kiddies home. Looked all around. Used my arm. But didnt find it but I think I must have uncovered it for HowickSteph. Checked with her once she found it, to check I was in the right area...which I was.

Came back today on a few occasions but muggles around. Came back short time later and found cache soon after. Saw 2 1/2 Kiwis driving away.

Had to wait a while before I could return the cache as a muggle was doing his dishes. But then had to quickly return it as a Jnr muggle and guardian was approaching to overtake the area. Quickly covered it up, hopefully good enough.

Read the hint, and decided where it probably was, and sure enough it was there in plain view not covered at all! I covered it a little better when I left. No muggles to be seen on a Sunday morning. Number 4 for 31 days of geocaching Smile TFTC

I have to totally agree with UncleSamNZ. I am sure I know the area to look using comments and the hint – but a lone male scrabbling around in a kids playground with all the surrounding windows looking onto the GZ is not a good idea.

This cache is OK for parents / grandparents with young children to use as decoys (or the ‘thick-skinned’)

Coordinates are close, just not exact, within 4M. Hint alert- It can't be walked on, but can be walked over.

If you don't like playground ones, don't do them.

Never a fan of ones in play grounds. As it is just me (male) looking around.

Gave up as co ord's not close (as mentioned in description) and too many kitchen windows with possible people calling the police as to why this man was wandering around the playground. I didn't want to stay around just in case the cops came.

Will wait for others to find it and get more hints from them.

DOH. I come back and no muggles. But I check the recent logs to find it MIA. Will try again when it has been replaced

27-Jul-13
Ok, checked this one, confirmed it's gone. Why would someone take it?
Will set another one here soon.

DOH.....muggles muggles muggles. Will try another day

Think this one might have been muggled already! Met with previous finder of this cache and it is definitely not there.

Found on the way home from work this afternoon. Didn't see it had been posted until late last night, and had been week and truly beaten by then so no rush. Tftc.

!!!FIRST TO FIND!!!

Mum saw this one come up, and after others further away had come up earlier, this one was SO tempting.
She said to Dad there was a new cache close, he rose, then sat "Nah, not tonight" he said... a wee while later Mum said "You would have that cache by now" - that sparked Dad into action... He was off...

And another FTF for the team. WOoooHoooo! Mum was pleased after the prompting!

He did note that the co-ords were out slightly, but said that the hint made it easy to find.

I've been planning a cache for this park for a while (wanted a puzzle cache there) so when this popped up I decided that at least I could get a FTF.... it's so close to home!

Sadly the log book already had a name in it. Well done AdamsFamilyof5.

Headed here on the way back after finding a newly published puzzle cache near Pukekohe. A quick find at GZ. Well done on the nice camo for your first cache. Thought I was FTF (which seem unusual as normally new caches are found in this area much quicker) but got home now to find out I wasn't. I must have signed the wrong side of the sheet! (It's not the first time it's happened!)

Thanks! Smile
