Having had two DNFs already after dinner, and with darkness descending, I was pleased to find this cache. I'd had the clue for a different cache in my head, which didn't help. And there was someone living in a tent only metres from GZ, which I found off-putting. I was relieved when I checked the hint again, and soon had the cache in hand. Thanks for the cache, Tankengine
TFTC Tankengine great spot for a walk, great old building couldn't see much windows covered. Log signed and replaced
Out and about this morning with the Geomum, walking around the lake. I thought I might show her a few caches! This one Id not actually found before so was delighted to tick it off the list. And a fine waterfall it is too!The quest towards 200 Tankengines is gathering steam
After visiting the War Memorial Museum we we walked trough the parks and found these cache.TFTC
Lovely little waterfall here- so peaceful. We are here for the weekend for Floriade and are scooting around the town collecting smilies. Thanks Tankengine for placing and maintaining the cache for our enjoyment.
Nice quick find while out on a walk near the lake. Quick log sign and return, thankfully stayed dry.tftc
TFTC. The Creek area is currently fenced off but thankfully we didn't need to go inside
Caching day in Canberra I arrived last night and got the virtual at the airport which gave me a cache in very state and territory in Australia in 5 months. So today was all about numbers wont know untilI complete my logs how well I did but I walk 19.5 km. Off to my event soon TFTCThis was lucky it is on the boundary of the keep put section
There was a bit of a break in the cold spell today and the sun was out much earlier and things warmed up, even though the temperature only got to 13 degrees. We had been keen to ride our bikes round Lake Burley Griffin so today was the day. We only made it to the Farmer's Market on our first attempt then had to return to the van with our purchases! With that done it was back out to firstly catch the tram into town and then the ride round the lake. On our way round we picked up a variety of caches, trads, multis, puzzles and quite a number of Virtuals. Some were straightforward while others challenging.Lunch at the National Portrait Gallery was welcome. We made it home just as the sun was settingThank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Tankengine.**SKI Pair****
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Back in Canberra for ANZAC day. With a late morning start we were on the bikes through EPIC to the light rail then the plan was to ride between the bridges of Lake Burley Griffin but alas too many caches and too little time so another day at least to finish that task. Bit of a breeze today so whilst sunny it was still a little cool. some lengthy search didnt help with our time management. We saw at least 2 school groups cycling around the lake, lucky for us they were going the other way, whilst we were stopped having lunch. TFTC Tankengine
Since I'm in Canberra for Mega, I've enjoyed seeing many places as well as the warm weather. Here's one to find today.Thank you for placing the cache ?? Tankengine.
2/4/2024 Find #6966The final day in Canberra for KBreeAHH, Captain Terror and me, and we were going to pack it with caching before handing the hire car back and relaxing in the lounge at the airport. Having been up as far as Murrumbateman and then Yass this morning, we were now back down in Canberra for our final caches. We had decided to do a walking circuit around here to complete our mission. We were worried for a minute that we might not be able to access this one, as much of this area is roped off at the moment. However the cache was found perfectly on the edge of the roped area. Thanks for the cache Tankengine.
Up in Canberra to attend the Capital Geobash over the Easter long weekend. Found this one on the Tuesday afternoon after the mega while scootering around the lake.TFTC
Lol i had the right idea but slightly the wrong location good thing lefty losey didn't work..it was a big doh moment when I saw the cache while searching other nearby item.
Found during the Mega event. Tankengine, thank you so much for placing it for everyone to enjoy and highlighting this area.
Over here for Capital GeoBash Mega. One of many hidden caches all over the city and surrounds for Mega Day weekend. Night caching while muggles largely locked away. And so many rabbits out feasting, TFTC
Found 31 Mar 2024 at 12:26:50pmOut and about on a cycling tour of part of Lake Burley Griffin with Team_Crumble in a beautiful sunny day. We cycled about 20km today, picking up a few caches as we went. Many thanks to Tankengine for placing Commonwealth Creek II for us all to find
Massive caching days continue. My online logs do not match with days found simply because I cant keep up with online logging sorry. My alliance of 5 all from WA are three young fit boys and two less young ladies who try to keep them honest. We have been up trees and ladders way more than I like and, like all geocachers who insist on wearing shorts in hot weather, our legs are ripped to shreds from hiking. Logging WAC since the three boys usually cache with a fourth called the Cockburn Crew based on their LGA. Having an almost totally cleared map locally, its difficult to explain the excitement of having a map that has caches literally everywhere. Ive cached in Canberra once with my partner and also at the Queanbayen mega but theres still so many to find. Long days and during the few hours allocated to sleep Im so sore I barely sleep anyway. Thanks so much for your contribution to making the days so exhausting and enjoyable. Much appreciated!
Nice quick find. Love the gardens and park area around this cache. Thanks for taking me away from just riding around Lake Burley G.
We heard about a Mega in Canberra a year ago. Having never been to the big capital, we booked our accommodation and the planning began.Which caches shall we do? Wow they really love their mystery caches in ACT! Ok, we need to get our thinking caps on and solve some of these puzzles pronto. We have made the trek from Adelaide to be here and appreciate the efforts of all those involved to make the Capital Geobash happen. We have hired bikes to ride around the lake today.
As part of the tour group, we walked a ton of miles and signed all the caches as LT2. I can honestly say I was one of the slowest in the group so I often arrived after the cache had been found and signed. Great camo on this cache. Thank you for the smiley and the fun!The day:Today was day 3 of my time in Canberra for the GeoBash Mega from the U.S. and getting to spend time with my friends. Hooray! It was another day that started with an awesome tour around Lake Burley Griffin. The weather was warm and the cachers were friendly. We were led by tankengine, one of the cachers who had a hand in the gadget caches at the mega, has awesome mysteries and other caches in the area. He kept us moving the entire time and we were able to get all the caches on our list. Then I attended the mega which was a lot of fun. There were so many people! The gadget caches were amazing, the adventure labs were fun, and the evening get together for trivia was a blast. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but know that I appreciate you.
While attending the Capital Geobash with scramping we participated in the 3.5hr Walking Tour around Lake Burley Griffin with Tankengine. We stopped at some pretty cool locations along the way.We signed all the logbooks with LT2 to save space in them.TFTC and the tour Tankengine

Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers Tankengine! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!
Cockburn Crew on tour to the Canberra Mega. Day 1 involved a bunch of caching around Sydney before making our way to Canberra for the Capital Geobash. We found a huge variety of caches, and its great to cache in new territory that we havent explored much in the past. Unlike our home state of Western Australia where we have found just about anything and everything.A beautiful day with great weather and even better company. Thank you to the local COs for a great day in and around this great country of ours.
The third day in Canberra and surrounds for the OzMega Geobash across the Easter weekend.Made my way to the event location for the first time today and enjoyed some of the festivities there throughout the morning. The afternoon was filled caching all over the place with a high priority placed on older caches to help fill Jasmer grids.Another day filled with an amazing variety of cache types and containers were located and with a large group the competition to get hands on the log first was high, with plenty of laughs along the way too. Thanks Tankengine for placing Commonwealth Creek II for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 21:09 on 29/3/2024.This is find number 8546 for me.

On our bikes today. We were suppose to be having a non caching day, going to visit the sister-in-law, however she had to cancel due to important client meetings. The price of being a small business owner. Hall was on the cards but we decided to leave that for another day and go into the lake, picking up what we could and adding a few Ad Labs.Total Caches Found 15677TFTC Tankengine
This one took us awhile to find even using the hint. we was about to give up when Ian spotted it thanks

This week our family was down in Canberra for new years, and we went for a walk along the lake and stopped by some caches along the way. This was the first and a quick find. We did forgot a pen since we werent expecting there were caches. Anyway I have photo proof belowTFTC, #175
Something special or unusual goes here:The GPS had me walking around in circles. So I checked the hint and found myself barking up the wrong tree until I spotted th hide. The Generic Bit:Both Bri and Sal are on the road for a holiday. [^] Holiday - Not a caching trip. This means if we are stopping for a rest, lunch, dinner or to see something whilst on holiday and there just happens to be a cache nearby then maybe Bri can go and try to find it. Maybe. Day 4: We made it. Time to do some sightseeing. Today we visited the Canberra Glassworks where Sal bought some souvenirs. I looked at the prices and promptly walked outside to find a cache. [B)] Then onto the Old Parliament House Rose gardens, the War Memorial and then to Floriade. Luckily there were caches near all these spots and so we found about 8 or so. **SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. - BOING*****Thanks Tankengine for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.

The third day of our scooter package today took us to the area between bridges on lake burley griffin. The scooters were great and we focused mainly on traditionals and virtual caches here.

#22500. To mangle a star wars quote, this was not the cache we planned to be looking for, but it was in a nice spot (no waterfall today) and was a quick find. TFTC.
Damn, we meant to look for the old cache Commonwealth Creek, but it looks like we found this one instead! We had to pick and choose which caches to look for as we biked around the lake, so I wanted to target older caches. A good find regardless. TFTC.
