Unfortunately there's been a bit of a landscaping change in this area and the cache location has gone. Will sadly have to archive this one and hope to put one in nearby if possible.
Thought this would be a quick find but no such luck. Searched all the rocks.Theres been some upkeep done around the rocks and trees planted beside them so hope the cache hasnt been removed.
Nice view down the lake to the fresh snow. Introduced some muggle friends to geocaching. TFTC
Grabbed the ones over the road at lake camp and now onto these ones around here before heading back up the road to get the mystery and then back towards mt somers. was Planned that we were going to go further up the road towards the mt but silly me had forgotten to put gas in so had to scratch that plan pretty quickly but will definitely be back for a camping trip here ver summer and grab some of the ones up the road.
A nice quick find and after getting the mess of a soaking logbook out of the cache signed a new page and put it in the cache as a replacement with a new ziplock bag as the old one was torn. Now the job of getting the cache back as a van load of tourists turned up right behind just as we were signing. returned the cache unseen (kids and photos are a great disguise) and off we go to get another. Tftc and thanks for the great views of the lake. found with chiko1

Found by accident while on a tour to Mount Sunday. We hadn't bothered loading any geocache information but when stopping for some photographs I noticed the GZ looked suspiciously like a cache location. Thanks for the unexpected cache.
Having a fabulous day trip with fabulous views..We had to bide our time as a Muggle came walking towards us,once she had her back to us..we pounced.TFTH
Together with schrek77 I traveled two months through New Zealand and Australia . First we traveled with a camper for 6 weeks the North and South Island of New Zealand . Then we went to Melbourne where we visited the city and the surrounding area . then we went to closing in the north of Australia . During this time we visited several geocaches and were brought to very nice places through this partially . We also had the opportunity to visit some very old caches , which extremely pleased us . We wish to thank Owner for nurture and cherish the caches .
along with fiona84 month on a 2 journey through new zealand and australia. on the journey we passed through the cache to beautiful places and were also some very old caches log. many thanks for cherish and maintain the caches.
Mr Sharpe was running a race around the Arrowsmith Range so Mrs Sharpe and Threesharpe went for a wander around Clearwater. Threesharpe loved climbing over all the rocks around GZ. The lake became so still and the reflections were just perfect.
Was staying at Lake Camp with Jillymc and came down here for a walk and explore.
Had not downloaded a wide enough area so had no cache data for this area.
Thought the location deserved a cache and spotted straight away! Thanks

Wouldn't you know that quinella would take the credit . Ha - it was me who sat down and thought about a cache and what a fitting One for my 1000th. Didn't have a pen as quinella hadn't saved enough caches- nice to have someone to blame.
Hope you accept this as a log but have photographic evidence if required. Tftc

A wonderful view from this spot, and an easy find. Had an awesome couple of days here after the long weekend. There's so much to do here. And that scenery!
An awesome morning dawned. We waited for the sun to rise a bit & the frost/ice to start melting before heading out on a family adventure to the Ashburton Lakes district. A great day.
Stopped in at Lake Emma & Roundabout on the way in and they were frozen solid. Lake Camp was only 1/2 frozen but Lake clearwater was as solid as a rock with quite a few people skating all over it, quad bikes towing sleds, ...bonkers...even a go-cart thrashing around!
Parked up at a picnic table overlooking the lake (near this cache) and whilst I was cooking up some sausages Mrs TG and the boys wandered up to the seat/plane table and found this cache.
Nice one. Thanks!

Thanks to Peter Jacksons Edoras, otherwise I would probably not have visited Mount Sunday, what a amazing place. On my way back I stopped here for some more caches. TFTC
We stayed a night (very cold) on the nearby campsite and searched the cache in the evening. This day we could not see the mountain, but the next morning we had a fabulous view over all the mountains! Tftc!
Placed by my favourite people. Such memories of this special place. Cache safe and dry. TFTC
Another quick find with a beautiful view. Sadly the top of Mt D'Archiac is in cloud. TFTC

My first cache in NZ. Over from Scotland on a fishing holiday and visiting Lake Camp and Clearwater and remembered there was a cache here somewhere so put on my caching eyes and found it.
Beautiful spot up here and one of our favourite fishing spots in NZ. Didn't make. Note of the other ones up here so will have to return on our next trip to do these.
Beautiful sunny day.

We are on the road again!
Today we found some very nice geocaches and enjoyed it to walk along every single trail.
Thanks to to all the owner for hiding the caches!

Mallorcatommy and I were on our journey through the southern island of New Zealand. With the help of geocaches we came to so many beautiful places, saw breath-taking landscapes and had, all in all a very wonderful journey! Thank you to all owners for placing all those nice geocaches!
Now for the view from the otherside, a bit of a couple of bumps that made my mini complain. Cheers
having pitched the tent amongst the huge influx of caravans we were heading up to lake camp for a fish so just a slight detour ooops left my pen in the car , we did find it honest.
We are staying at Methven for the weekend. Heading up towards Mt Sunday today. Very strong winds here today. Fantastic vista across the lake.
Found it on a day trip to Lake Clearwater and back from Christchurch. What a lovely lake, very photogenic today, zero wind no clouds stunning reflections in the water, had some lunch here very nice. Other than a few people around enjoying the sunshine I had the GZ to myself no one to notice what 1eyednbf (1 eyed and proud of it) was up to. Quick easy find nice hide TFTC.
Found during a port stop while aboard the Celebrity Solstice. We were on a tour and this was a well placed rest stop, have to love it, when the bus stops 25 ft from the cache. tftc!!
Overcast day in Ash but the sky cleared and a beautiful day at the lakes. Found this on the way back from a walk up Mt Sunday more by luck than good management as the GPS batteries were flat and I'd forgotten to put in new ones. A windsurfer on the lake speeding around, looked like lots of fun.
Great place for a seat to enjoy the view.
