#8217Back o Bourke Day 3Bourke to InverellWere on a road-trip chasing some LGAs we need between Coonamble and Kyogle, via Cobar and Bourke. The car is packed with TOTTs and snacks and we are prepared for long drives and short walks, hoping to gather the required LGAs without damaging our DT average in the process.Cache contents were found scattered across the ground. Logbook signed and everything reassembled back into the bucket and re-hidden as it appeared it was in the first place. Thanks for the cache!
#8217Day 3 of our Northern/Western NSW Roadtrip.Bourke -> Inverell via 2 missing LGAs.A very long day of driving with minimal caches, upwards of 350km stretches of plain old nothing! Basically grabbing anything we can! end of copy paste Quick find, cache contents were soaked and scattered all over the ground. We gathered everything up and back in, but its in bad condition still TNLN SLThanks for placing and maintaining this cache Ned Kelly 123
Another great sized cache. Well done.We spent most of yesterday afternoon lazing in the thermal pools at Moree, which seemed to do us some good, but was most relaxing at least.Today it was time to move on though as we traveled from Moree to Inverell via a longish stop in Warialda where we picked up a number of caches. Inverell is where Mrs SKI's long past relatives used to live. Its a grand old town, with lots of impressive buildings from past times that seemed to be well-loved and maintained. We enjoyed walking round town just admiring them although things were very quiet it being a Saturday afternoon.A few quality hides were found today so we look forward to exploring more tomorrow.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Ned Kelly 123.**SKI Pair****
After spending a couple of weeks in Canberra attending the Mega Event it was time to head back to Brisbane. We have a few weeks to travel so we are meandering up through country NSW. We are finding the odd cache here and there were we have room to pull over with the caravan. This was an easy cache to find seeing how large it is.TFTC
Today we travel from Stanthorpe to Warialda via Kwiambah NP. Now were in Warialda for the night. We keep forgetting about the 1hour we lose coming from Qld . TFTC
Great easy access to this after safe parking in the rest area. Fav for us because of the size, it's always so nice to see, but sadly quite rare. Tftc
Well we were back on the road but seeing a large sized container meant surely it was worth checking out. Large ones are so rare to find these days.
I was happy to see once we found the cache that it was indeed a whopper. I haven't seen one this big in years and certainly not with such a short stroll.
Great job Ned Kelly.
Thanks for hiding one here adding to the fun of today's drive west. Cheers!

ading west from Inverell today, aiming to get to Walgett tonight by a slightly circuitous route to pick up some caches.
A straightforward find, just a matter of following the geo-trail. It's always fun to find a large cache and this one's a beauty. There seems to be few of them around these days ... so thanks to the Ned Kelly for going to the effort to do so.

Easy little park and grab. The cache is indeed a Whopper in good condition, signed and replaced. Thanks Ned Kelly 123 for placing the cache.
Thought we would stay in Warialda for a couple of nights, ride out the forecast wet weather, and grab some caching action on our way home to TAS after 10 weeks on the road. Today dawns an excellent day weatherwise, so we're out early to bag some caches. Well you were not lying when mentioning whoppers ! We also followed the well spaced footprints of a giant macropod here ! Thanks for these whopping experiences Nedkelly123
11135. Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1400 on a visit to Warialda for the day. Now we are exploring the village and surrounds. Lots of variation with the hides.SL Tnx Ned Kelly 123

GreyHams and myself have been targeting counties for some time now and this trip was to be the last of the NSW counties... It would see ALL NSW counties complete!
It sure has taken us through some amazing places in the state as we journeyed through all of the counties, this trip would see the last 23 counties needed of the 129. One again we saw a lot of variety over the four days from the scenic coast, lush green country side, rainforest, mountains and out west to a much drier and flatter landscape.
Counties were our priority for this trip, and an abundance of larges also made the select list, Virtuals, types, old ones, interesting ones and of course DT, if your cache made this list it had a quality that was needed... we also managed a surprise FTF along the way as well!
It wouldn't be a trip without the ladder, or the esky... and good old Qantas happily checked them in with our bags!
Day 1 saw us flying into Ballina, driving North up through Byron, a beautiful part of the coastline where shirts and shoes are optional! After a dash up a hill, it was along the beach to the most easterly cache of Australia, a clamber up the side of the headland for an earthcache and time for a virtual. Driving north to Mooball for our most northerly county and then back down and across to Tenterfield, arriving after a surprise FTF and a long winding drive through the hills where we stopped for the night. Chose our hotel for the man sleeping on the sign, and as advertised, the best beds, and indeed I did sleep as well... the quietest hotel in town where everyone was sleeping and the lady working there the loveliest... and the best Pizza we will ever taste in town!
Day 2 we left Tenterfield with a wave of a local horseman and made our way west to Moree before dropping down and driving to Tamworth for the night. Some unexpected locations along the way had us saying 'there has to be an earth cache on that!' and indeed dropping out of our lists there was and a few extra locations stopped at and enjoyed.
Day 3 was the trip from Tamworth, up to Armidale and back down again to drive across to Port Macquarie before starting our way north to stop in Kempsey. Some interesting caches and tracks, and the good little SUV was the toughest and most reliable of them all for some of the tracks that were lost in the highest of grass and the pollen of the grass seeds that left clouds in the sky as we passed. A trail of challenge caches tested the little car some more and GreyHams navigated us through with ease. The ladder had a work out and some great caches collected for the day with it.
Day 4 we left Kempsey with the plan of driving back to Ballina for our planes back home. Some newer larges had us down some more bumpy wet tracks, some a little more than we could navigate so a short walk to finish. Very tropical with the mountains, even banana trees and so much sugar cane too. A kayak for great DT was indeed a great addition. Also our down fall as the drive was long, the roadworks a plenty and our plane due, it was a rush and many cache changes to ones along the hwy as we raced north for our plane. Just 15 minutes late and watched as everyone else boarded but us. Getting home wasn't so simple, we got to plan 'F' and a journey of planes, trains and automobiles to get us home, but what a great trip!!!!
GreyHams was as always a great companion, driver, navigator, cache finder, planner, ladder carrier, disaster management solver on another very enjoyable trip, NSW counties complete... go team!!! Looking forward to the next adventure!

Love a large!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh what a trip! We finally bit off more than we could chew but it still somehow managed to end well!
Aquilus1 and myself have been striving on a mission for some time now... to get ALL the counties in NSW. We did the hard ones early actually, via two trips flying to Adelaide and driving to Sydney/Melbourne respectively. The previous trip was a simple Newcastle loop, so....finally the time had come....six months overdue because of Covid lockdowns to complete the last loop: Armidale/Ballina.
Of course, its not just about the counties, we crammed in a bunch of larges, DT, virtuals and even a Wherigo.
Day -30: Qantas screw us over and cancel our Armidale flight.... so a frenzied replan and Qantas agree to fly us to Ballina instead....bonus is that the car hire from Ballina comes with UNLIMITED km's.... this is great as we knew we would exceed the max by about 1200km...not cheap!
Day 1: We fly into Ballina, marvel at the super crap roads and all the people not working, but exercising, without shirts, in and around Byron. So glad my tax dollars support these people! After driving north to scary cow country we went west and made it as far as Tenterfield, but not before we got an amazing surprise FTF on a challenge cache in Casino....happy days! Yet another crazy late night pizza guy, and a lovely motel manager who had the BEST beds in NSW greeted us.
Day 2: Tenterfield to Tamworth, the long way, via Moree. Long drive through windmill country with some amazing walks for oldies and great views of cool mountains.....we said to ourselves "wow, look at that, there should be an Earthcache here that we could log fro the road".... and there WAS!!! We repeated this trick on day 3 as well. Got to love that. Outside Moree we found piles of various grains at the rest stop.... I wonder what that was about.
Day 3: Tamworth to Kempsey, we saw Armidale on Sunday... so quiet, but a great Virtual and a ridiculous journey through head high grass....for someone with allergies this was nuts! We managed a tricky challenge cache series and a multi that required Aquilus1 to go crazy high on a tree.... that ladder was well worth it yet again!
Day 4: More larges and then a great paddle for some great DT. The water at Stuarts Point was so nice, we kept going and going.....which in hindsight maybe wasnt the best idea, but we knew how far we had to get, and how much time we had.... the windy roads then roadworks however messed those plans up. 15 minutes late, watching them start to load the plane we werent on just sucked.... but, the HJ's (and our desperation) fueled the many new plans until Plan 'F', for fabulous, came to fruition.
We made it home, a little later than expected with slightly grumpier partners than ideal.... but we made it! Planes, trains & automobiles in the end..... so glad we didnt have to walk from Goulburn!

It was indeed a whopper, and a very well hidden one at that! We actually glanced at it when we first arrived at GZ, but went elsewhere to search properly, before looping back to inspect closely. Great job with this one - tftc!
Found by Mary and David at 13:10. Well this was indeed a whopper! The gauge in our GeoPrado is showing 44C! Mary is wishing we were closer to home so she could have collected a bag of dried cow manure for her Melbourne garden from around the previous cache we found. Our thanks to Ned Kelly 123.

Hi there Ned Kelly 123. Today was a tourist day from Inverell to Bingara and then Warialda before returning to Inverell overnight. We lunched at a cafe in Bingara then continued along our way stopping along the way to Warialda at The Ceramic Sculpture Park. This cache was a quick find and the container and log are in good condition. SL. Thanks to Ned Kelly 123 for this cache - our find #6636.
Second last day of 3 week road trip that included a week at the Clear Water Event in Queanbeyan over Easter. Today we travelled from Tamworth via Warialda with caches being our guides. Thanks to all the COs who placed these caches and showing us around this region of the state.
Travelling back to Brisbane and today, travelling from Tamworth to Inverell via Warialda. Found so many caches and thank you to all CO's who placed them out there in different locations. Found cache and signed log. TFTC
A short walk and quick find. Nice and quiet out here. Amazed that such a large cache survives. Log signed. TFTC
Decided to stop here in Warialda for a second day, in part to grab a few caches and because the area was so beautifully maintained. Just did the caches along the main road, will do the walking trail possibly on our return trip from the QBN Mega. Yes it was a whopper, but no burger of fries was had here. All good.

Enjoying finding caches that I don't need a microscope to see and there a few around here!
I have a large letterbox cache at home so I do collect large size goodies for it. Unfortunately that is where it all was when something took my fancy here so I had to use the little stuff.

A detour to Inverell and Warialda as part of my big adventure. I had spent the night in Inverell and was on my way again. Now in Warialda, I headed to this cache. A large cache! How could I resist!? It was quickly located at GZ. With my name added to the logbook and the cache returned to its hiding spot, I continued on my way. TFTC
Found this one easily on our way to Moree. Left a rather small yo-yo which wasn't in keeping with the LARGE theme, but all we had on board at the time. Thanks for placing this cache. Cheers from Bindair Dundat and Princess Madelyn.
Hi there Ned Kelly 123.
We found your cache **"The Warialda Whopper"** today. (This makes our find count 19475).
Today we cached around Bingara and Warialda. The aim of the day was to cache along roads we haven't traveled on since we became full time grey nomads. Once we've done that we can draw another line on our wall map).
We found 15 caches today (DNF'd 4) .We thoroughly enjoyed our cache raid. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels. Thanks also for placing a large cache container here. It made us feel really glad to find a large, kid friendly cache (with swaps) here.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
