Nice little area. I've lived in Lead all my life and have never stopped to look at the memorial on my way past.
Nice hide woodpecker flew out of its hole in a tree and scared us but was interesting
US14 ET Highway Trip with Sol de Lune and Mtrax. Day 22. Time to cross a few more US states of the list for Caching, starting in Casper, Wyoming. Today we set off from Rapid City to go North to get to North Dakota. A travel day, but a high priority on caching. We saw quite a few small towns along the way and got to explore a lot of out of the way spots. Thanks.

Heading north from Rapid City via Sturgis and Spearfish heading to North Dakota ending up in a small town call Belfield
Our main aim was to visit and geocache in a few more US States.
Greetings from Canberra Australia.
Logged as "SAM" which is a team of three Sol De Lune, Albida33 and Mtrax. Visiting the US as a team for the 2nd time, our mission to complete the ET series but before and after do some more exploring and geocaching along the way. Our tour starts around Barstow and a few days in Las Vegas before caching over to 29 Palms before hitting the ET Highway straying at Rachel and Tonapah.
Our second stage of our trip saw us doing a loop around Wyoming, Nebraska, South & Nth Dakota and Montana before finishing back in Los Angles, our finds for the trip totalled well over 4,000 geocaches.

Heading out of Rapid City towards somewhere in North Dakota...grabbing caches as we went.

It is really snowing near Deadwood. The roads are getting slick & visibility is getting bad. We found the caches on Polo Creek Road but it's getting worse. We end up here as our last cache for the day. My son's BF, Levi, drives us in his high riding truck! It is very fun but about time to go back to Rapid City. We find the cache area and are thinking, we will never find this cache. A bunch of big rocks covered in snow. However, Levi and I decide to go for it. We are crawling over rocks & not even knowing how deep our feet will get into the snow. It's still snowing pretty good too. We've had good luck today so we give it our best shot. When we are about to give up, I find the cache. We couldn't believe it! 5 caches found today in the snow and cold! Woo Hoo So much fun! TNLN SL TFTC!
Found a cache near here called "Sunday gone Wrong" several years ago. Looks like the guard rail was replaced by the highway. Thought the snow might defeat us but it was not too bad at the Cache site.

Seems like we'd been to this one quite a while back but never logged it. It certainly wasn't how I remembered it. The monument hasn't changed though. TFTC.
