Time to let this series go. It has run its course (it was a long course). No longer interested in placing and maintaining geocaches.
Really good root around under both sides of the bridge came up blank. A bit rotten and old underneath it now. Missing in action I think.
Searched around for quite some time and used the hint but could not locate this cache.
Checked all over the bridge. No cache. Not logged for over a year. This cache is not here
Thought this was going to be another DNF for me today. After 10 mins or so of slightly damp and muddy searching I could not see anything at all resembling the hint description, and was ready to move on.
However as I went to leave my GPS decided that compass directions were actually the opposite of what they had been telling me up til now, and so I shifted to the other side of the creek and immediately found the container, exactly as described.
Thanks for the cache and series (only my third Plantigrade find, so plenty to go), and for bringing me to this lovely spot, day1976.

As I had the day off work today, I decided to find some caches I have been meaning to do for quite a while.
I had a peek on the wrong side of the bridge, and then I spotted it as soon as I went to the other side.
Enough paper in here for a fair few logs.

Spent a lot of time searching at the wrong end of the bridge before finding it quickly at opposite end. Log has disintegrated so placed a strip of paper in there to use. Tftc
Six years on, and there it is!! Maybe the vegetation has changed or maybe we had a boy look last time . Anyway, quick find. The cache is very fragile, however. TFTC!
Found it! Spent most of my time looking at the wrong end of the bridge, but found it easy once I looked in the right place!
Along such a beautiful walking trail!
This cache could do with a new logbook though... it’s falling apart a bit!

Nice quick find after using the hint. TFTC!
We were unable to sign the logbook as the paper is wet and will need to be replaced.

I’m trying to fill in some dates on my calendar so this one was today’s.
We came back to this area to get the coordinates for one of the plantigrade mysteries we’d missed getting last time we were around here. Doing the plantigrade multi for so long we’d forgotten about bringing a pen, so Bakinglove13 volunteered to run back to the car to get one.
The log is getting a bit dodgy, which we didn’t realise until after she’d run back already so we didn’t have a spare to add to it.
We started looking at the wrong end but once we went to the correct end it was a quick find. Love seeing all these big trees and a bit of sunshine and blue sky finally.
Thanks day1976

Out today walking (part of) the Plantigrade trail, the rain only made the area more lush and beautiful - having a great time! I find bridge caches really hard, but this one revealed itself no problems, TFTC!
Quick find here in another stunning area. Log is due to be replaced on this one though.
A nice walk through here on a warm summer’s day with Jules6. I spotted a likely geotrail as we walked up to the bridge and soon spotted this cache hanging around. Thanks Day1976
After attending a near by event cache , my friend BonnyBlack and I decided to grab a few caches in the Emerald area . A nice walk along a narrow bush track after parking the Car . BonnyBlack did all the work to find this one . Thanks day1976.
We found the cache after looking around for a little while in a very nice spot. TFTC
Well, this was a nice little diversion in my attempt to do the multi that seemingly is the main driver of people that go out and find this and the series of caches. I am rather sorry in my late and undetailed logs on these trads but I overall I really loved the walk along to work on the plantigrade multi, it will be one of those caches that I remember forever in my caching journey and this find was nd always be a part of this memory. Thanks for the cache and the legendary walk.
Initially I searched at the wrong end of the bridge... I've been using the hints in this area because of the poor GPS reception. And I'm a little impatient
Cache was found exactly where it was described to be. Log is a little weary but dry and still has most of one side still available. Thanks Day!

I did bounce around looking longer than needed. Once I worked out which way North West is I found it straight away
I was expecting a long search as bridge hides and I, don't go together. But surprisingly I found it straight away. What a lovely spot. Thank you
I spent a looooong time crawling around under that dank cobwebby bridge on the wrong side of the creek In the end it was very obvious and not nearly as hard as I though. TFTC
Continuing on our Plantigrade series this afternoon with Omegaman and l spotted this one from a short distance away while searching around the obvious structure. Our duties we soon completed and we were on our way. Thanks day1976 for the hide.

Out again with Happy Pants smashing some of the plantigrade series. after a short search Happy made the find.
Cheers for the cache

While we had not planned to be up this way another type of cache lead us to the area so we decided to complete this part of the trail with a bit of a walk. Muddy and slippery under foot but ok for walking if you don't mind a few mud splats. Once at GZ we realised the location and made our way around to spot it. We completed the signing duties and re hid in a likely spot. TFTC
I see this one would have become officially 'unloved' if BushwalkingBandit hadn't found it this week. Not sure I understand how that happens with traditional caches immediately next to formal pathways, but then there are *lots* of things I'm still to learn about geocaching. This one didn't make for an instantaneous discovery but happily I wasn't detained for toooo long. Thanks again day1976!
Today i had the day off, i needed to pick some hear up from Kalista, the weather cracked it on the way up and didn't stop for around 6 hours. I love this forest in the rain.
I parked the car at the A'vard picnic ground with the intention of walking along the track in both directions, picking up the caches along the way.
Such a pretty Creek and a great bridge, made a quick find and of to find a mossy tree, whilst walking to the next cache i saw evidence of the gold mining which took place over 100 years ago.
Tftc. Cheers bwbandit

An evening of adventure for 88andy88, ahomburg and I.
The main goal was a night cache for AH's 7000, and as it was still daylight, we stopped for a few on the way.
Another sneaky hide, spotted by 88.
Looking forward to doing this whole series. Cheers!

An epic adventure night in the beginning was forming and we were building up to a massive night as OzHockeyChick , Ahomburg and I began with finding this sneaky little fella....
I have been pegging a few of the plantigrade series off the list with future intentions to actually start at the start and hike the lot as the series was intended, and this was a great little hide just off the beaten track so to speak.
I am slowly falling for this series and the want to finish them from start to finish is growing...
Thanks Day1976

I had to make an early morning trip to Pakenham, so decided to take the dog and find some caches on the way home. tftc.
Headed out with Fleabag- and Isthisit? today for a short hike and to pick up a few caches and hopefully do a few more Plantigrade waypoints.
We were walking past here and having now just read pprass' comment I was looking for something in a different way so it's probably still there.
Thanks day1976 for the cache, the hunt and the fun.

Found at 2:40 PM GAFF1.
Another one where I was hesitant of getting down as I wasn't dressed for caching. However I was able to spot the cache and sign the log book, but when I tried to replace the tube onto the lid, the wire broke [B)]
I replaced the cache on the side of the boardwalk in a crack between two boards - same corner as the original placement.
Thanks day1976.

I was up at the crack of dawn to grab a few caches in the Emerald area today. It was a very thick foggy morning today.I left the geo vehicle and grabbed a Plantigrade cache before going for this one. Day light was now helping and after 2 DNF's I was determined to find this one. The log was not in a good way and found after a little searching. Returned as found
[blue]Thanks for this cache hide, day 1976 [^] Log was extremely wet, container was ok TNLN [/blue]

Took me a while! My GPS and I couldn't agree on which corner to inspect. Eventually got the little bugger. Log was mush, so I added some scrap paper. Not sure how long it will stay dry for. Thanks!
See Plantigrade for the full story.
I was running out of time. When I didn't see it within five minutes, I got on my way again. I'll give it another shot when I come through on the return trip soon.

Finally! After four attempts I have found one of day's bison tube in this area. Interesting bridge, thanks day.
I had been at Emerald for the day as Station Master for Puffing Billy and decided to stop off for some caches in this series on the way home. I parked on Kallista Road and set off south along the walking track. I arrived at the bridge to find my GPSr was still indicating the cache to be 40 metres away. Fortunately it settled down before I took off into the bush and it turned me back to the bridge. With the indicated GZ still floating around, I resorted to the Hint and after some hunting around I came up with the cache. At least I found it which is more than I could say for my next couple of attempts...
Thanks day1976 for the cache...the log sheet is damp and difficult to write on.

This was a cute little hide that was found by geosons aged 7 and 5. Log a bit wet so we tried to dry it out a bit in the sunshine before rehiding.

Another nice stroll to the cache site and once there I found it much easier to locate and retrieve the cache from underneath.
Rabbitto and I had been here previously when the cache was disabled. We placed a temporary cache, which as it turns out was at the wrong end of the bridge. Today we found both caches and retrieved the temporary one placed previously. I initially went with Rabbitto to where we knew we had placed the cache and sure enough - there is was. While we were doing this MMelb (the All Terrain Cache Retriever) was at the other end of the bridge yelled out that he had found the real cache. As others have found the cache the instructions must be OK. You are excused for not finding your own cache. We signed the legitimate log and replaced. Thanks day1976

As per G's log, we seemed to differ to the CO as to which part of the bridge was the NW side corner. M found the new cache and re-signed us into the log sheet at one end and we retrieved the temporary cache from the other.
I think we found the replacement for the replacement as there were no signatures on the brand new bit of paper.
Sad day when you can't find your own cache. Thanks Rabbitto for replacing this one, but today I tried to confirm it was there, but couldn't see anything!
After trying to confirm that there was a new cache in place, I couldn't spot it. So after 20 minutes of crawling around in the mud, I pulled out a new container. In the same spot, but hidden in a different style. Have updated the hint accordingly.
I found this cache today at 1:55pm as cache 12 of 12 in company of GJMMelb. We had seen that this cache was offline and the cache owner had been past about 8 weeks ago but unable to get back to replace it. Not wanting to leave a cache find behind, and to assist in the meantime, we brought along a replacement cache and placed at the spot as described in the hint. Hope this is ok. Thanks from D B-A.
Today I walked the entire length of the Planitgrade series and checked on all the waypoints of the multi, all but one of the traditionals and all the final way points for the unknown. Total distance travelled was 55kms, but I know all the short cuts! This one was the only one that was missing out of all of them. It's a bit annoying because I can't see how it could of got muggled and the water has not been up this high. As I came unprepared to replace any caches, I will disable this until I can get back here and replace it, shouldn't be too long.
Have had my eye on the Plantigrade cache series since it was first published and keen for the challenge of walking to its end in Cockatoo. Well today was the today and although the weather was not perfect it was good enough and after some short rain spells in the morning by lunch time most of it had passed. The track itself was easy with mud in sections as well as some sections being creeks of flowing water. On the hike today with me was Ahomburg and after starting at 9:30am we got to Cockatoo by 6pm, total distance of approx 30km with an average speed of 3km/hr. There was some nice hides and great scenery along the way.
This was the only DNF for us today. Gave this one at least 30mins if not more with short breaks for eating lunch inbetween repeat attempts at the same spots. Had a small torch which helped alot but feel that the cache maybe MIA. Its worth a check by the CO to confirm, I may of missed it. Thanks for the hunt anyway.

Passed by here with Danozz while on the path doing the Plantigrade multi. We weren't able to find it in the time we had and it was suggested to us by the CO that we keep on moving as he was coming down the path to meet us! Next time!!
Think i saw it but needed torch and other items to get this one logged TFTC [ i think }
Found on nice bush walk from Sassafras to Emerald. Lots of water in the creek and - surprise - quite muddy!
This one had me going for a while. Went back to the car to get trusty torch and cache was then in hand. Thank you for bringing me here. TFTC!
My good mate trailruning was on Holidays so we took the opportunity to grab a few in the Dandenongs, it was a rather wet day compared with the nice day we had before, we made progress on the Plantigrade series, micros in the bush with poor gps signal under the tree cover can be a real challenge, but we got them found.
I looked around for a while but failed to find it. It was bright out, and my eyes didn't adjust well to the dark, so I'll use that as my excuse. Good spot for a cache. Thanks for taking me there.
No luck for us on this occasion; would have looked for longer, but real life was beckoning. We'll be back!

Found @ 10:25am, find # 2412
I did see these new caches come up last night, but I wasn't planning on going anywhere then.
When I got up this morning, I thought about these caches and decided that it was a great morning for a bushwalk, so off I headed.
I had past by this one a bit earlier but I could not see it so I continued on to the others, on the way back to the car, I stopped off for another look but it still eluded me so I continued back to the car and grabbed my torch and came back for another look, this time, third time lucky with a bit of light on the subject the search was a little easier and after a long search the cache was finally found and inside was another clean log.
This was my last find for the day with a total of 8 find with 5 of them being FTF's and one DNF.
Thanks to day1976 for placing this cache and this series, I will need to return to walk a few more trails and find a few more caches and hopefully the multi and puzzles.
