Time to let this series go. It has run its course (it was a long course). No longer interested in placing and maintaining geocaches.
Nice simple one just really wary of my bare legs in the undergrowth on a warm spring day!! TFTC
Found this one many years ago but didn't log it at the time. But went back there again last weekend to write in the log book.
Book was damp but sandwich bag seamed sealed.
Was over a year ago since an entry was made in the log book for this one.

We really enjoy walking along this track so we thought we'd grab a few caches this time. Had a lovely rest by the creek before quickly grabbing this one. Container a little damp, poured water out before replacing. Thank you!
With fallen trees post storm.. nothing could be found today.. maybe this one might need a review by owner please
#1920 - 8.30pm
Daylight was rapidly fading but Heymissjo and I were having such a great time that we didn't feel ready to go home just yet. So the age old theory was applied - just one more!!
Well, during the walk from the car to GZ, as we worked our way through giant prehistoric vegetation to the sound of screeching cockatoos, all the natural light quickly disappeared and deep, dark night engulfed the valley.
This is exactly how I like to cache!!
At night... just me and the elements - oh, and with the love of my life by my side too!!
At GZ, the GPS seemed to lead one way, then another. An initial search proved fruitless. We then investigated a broader area in several directions without success.
We looked around in quiet dismay - it could be anywhere in this jungle! So, we began to research past logs, but there were so many conflicting tales that it provided no help at all.
Or did it?!
Hang on... what's that?
No, it was nothing.
So yeah, as I said, the previous logs didn't offer anything useful.
And all the while during our efforts on the dark, we kept having to dodge huge mosquito mega-fauna which were continually drawn to our lights. But at the twenty minute mark, we also started finding leeches on us. It wasn't looking good. We began contemplating calling this off as a DNF - and that always precedes a final five minutes search with renewed vigour.
And that is when we found it.
Yeah, baby!!
In reflection, we (like many) made unnecessarily hard work of this. The GPS coordinates were perfect, but sometimes you just can't see the forest for the trees, lol.
As I opened up the cache and prepared to sign in, I noticed an unusually large squirming leech at my sternum. It had reared up on its tail and was hungrily sniffing the air. My well honed bushcraft skills instantly kicked in - read as: had a hissy fit and manically swatted it away in a blur of panic!! It flew through the air and landed upon the names of recent finders in the logbook I was holding! It would have made for an awesome photo, as it again reared up on its tail, but alas my ingrained bushcraft self defence technique instantly sent the acrobatic villain tumbling into the undergrowth with a second flurry of motion!!
Leeches are the worst!
Despite the dramatics, we very much enjoyed ourselves here. It's a beautiful area, easily accessible, and seemingly a million miles from anywhere.
Thanks, day1976.
All is well here.

The hunt for this was done under torchlight as the sun has fully set. We started with some wide circles, but after reading some logs, we narrowed the search. It was while I was flicking leeches off me squealing, that The Welder made his find. Cache nicely hidden and in good condition. Great fun, minus the leeches! Blah!

I finally made a start on the Plantigrade multi today and I looked for the traditional caches that were placed along the way. I think I ended up doing what a lot of other people seemed to do by searching one particular area where the GPS initially pointed, but then it seemed to settle a little further away from on obvious object. As I circled around I saw the tell tale sign of a hide and there it was. My last for the day before being picked up nearby. TFTc day1976
Out today walking (part of) the Plantigrade trail, the rain only made the area more lush and beautiful - having a great time! This took me a while to find, but reading some logs helped a bit. Got there in the end! TFTC!
I’ve alway wondered what this track was like. Nice easy find and thanks for introducing me to the area.
I had a dnf here a while ago after hunting for ages. Today I was pleased to have Jules6 along, because he had his hands on it soon after we arrived and fairly close to the track, while I was again 8 metres off into the bush. Thanks Day1976
After attending a near by event cache , my friend BonnyBlack and I decided to grab a few caches in the Emerald area . A nice walk along a narrow bush track after parking the car , and yes it is certainly humid . A quick find after arriving at GZ . Thanks day1976.
Spring is here and it's time to get out caching again. My stats this year are abysmal: 76 finds and 1 placement. I thought I had lost my caching mojo but maybe we can turn things around this summer.
We headed up in to the hills to grab some easy unlove. This was a wonderful cache to break the drought. An easy find in a splendid location. Very lush and lots of birds singing in the trees. A busy bee was gentle enough to let me get in close and snap a photo with my snazzy new phone. All up the experience was worthy of a favourite point. Thanks day1976 for bringing us here!

Found on 21 March 2018 at 4:46:39 pm. Find #2586. Took a while to find. Gps was all over the place and i think it was not in the place described by hint.
Awesome trail.
Thanks for the adventure.

Returned to look for this one again seeing that it had been found recently. Searching in the dark probably wasn’t the best idea, but at least I didn’t have the geokids with me this time. Found it after about 15 mins searching. Like the previous log, closer to the path than I had been searching, and about 20m S of where the coords had us. So glad to have a Smiley though, I’m slowly finishing up this great local series. TFTC
I am out walking today to do another leg of the plantigrade multi. It did take me a while to find GZ on this cache as there is so many mossy trees more mossy than the tree I found the cache on. I did do more bush bashing then what was needed. Thanks heaps the epic walk
Ok, I have a confession to make: I'm logging this cache nearly two years late.......but late is better than never right??? I only noticed because OzHockeyChick and I were planning the next stage of the Plantigrade multi. Thank goodness I wrote myself some field notes!
It had been a while since OzHockeyChick and I had caught up. We were enjoying the walk as we made our way through the waypoints for the Pantigrade multi and picking up the traditional caches along the way. We were so busy talking that we walked right past GZ and had to turn back.......luckily it wasn't too far. Thanks Day1976.

Back today with K from Mark&Kelly to do another section of this awesome series. We had a wonderful time, chatting, laughing, de-leeching, and of course finding the caches. Thanks again day1976.

Took a bit for the GPS to settle but I managed to find it
I had a good look in and around the tree today but have that eerie feeling I'll be back some time on my future searching.

Out tonight with Trailstevo battling leeches and picking up a few more cache from the series. Wet soggy, trees a leaf litter everywhere, bring on the summer ( and snakes?!). TFTC
After some time away, finally back into some night caching with Gunks. Picking up a few leechy hitchhikers as we found some Plantigrade as well as moving further along the main Plantigrade trail. Tftc
While we had not planned to be up this way another type of cache lead us to the area so we decided to complete this part of the trail with a bit of a walk. Muddy and slippery under foot but ok for walking if you don't mind a few mud splats. Once at GZ a lot of digging was required and we final found it. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Today i had the day off, i needed to pick some hear up from Kalista, the weather cracked it on the way up and didn't stop for around 6 hours. I love this forest in the rain.
I parked the car at the A'vard picnic ground with the intention of walking along the track in both directions, picking up the caches along the way.
whilst walking to this cache i saw evidence of the gold mining which took place over 100 years ago. Cache located easily. Despite the cloud cover and the rain the GPS was locating the caches just fine.
Tftc. Cheers bwbandit

Took a long time to find. Got a couple of leaches on my legs so watch out. About 8 meters out but we finally got it . Mum had an idea of were the cache might be. She walked over there and she got distracted on cute mushrooms and forgot what she was doing. I told her to look at the spot then there it was!
Trying to fill up July working towards the 366 day challenge so I needed one for today and had to visit someone nearby. The Plantigrade ones have mostly been quite challenging for us, but since this one had been replaced in December I thought we'd have a fighting chance.
It was a nice walk, not too muddy, but Geodaughter did pick up a leech while we were searching. We were almost there when we came to a huge tree that had fallen across the track. Thankfully we were able to scramble across and we were soon at GZ. The GPS was all over the place, as you'd expect, so it was a bit like finding a mossy tree in a mossy tree stack. We looked for quite a while and were about to give up but looked further down the track and noticed another likely target, so gave that a shot first. Geodaughter was standing on the track directing but I got distracted by some tiny little fungi (photo in log). She yelled at me where to look after I'd finished taking photos, and there it was, as per the hint, but not quite what we'd been looking for
Cache was in pristine condition with its nice new log book all safe and dry. On the walk back we saw some more cool fungi and took pics of some of the wonderful trees. Thanks for another fun adventure, we'll work on finding some of the others through the rest of the month

After successfully finding two caches in this series on my second attempt, I returned to Kallista Road where I had left my car, crossed over and came hunting this cache...despite the previous logs which weren't encouraging.
As I approached GZ I spotted "a particularly mossy tree" but it seemed a bit too far away so I pressed on. At GZ itself there were no mossy trees...but there was one not all that far away so I went and investigated. Fortunately it turned out to be a rather quick find...because the cache wasn't hidden exactly as described...and the Hint as given has no relevance...I suspect that the cache has been moved.
Thanks day1976 for the cache...a little maintenance is required...apart from the hide and the description not lining up, the log sheet was mush. I didn't have anything suitable to replace it with but I did leave an unused corner off a Post-It note as it was all I had.

DNF unfortunately.looked up and down in every fork in so many mossy trees.
I'll be back.
I'll be back.
Spiffy- and I continued our way along the Plantigrade multi and were joined by IsThisIt? for today's section. After a search of original obvious GZ we started to widen our search and then I went back to original spot and found the cache tucked away. Thanks to Day1976 for the cache.
Headed out with Fleabag- and Isthisit? today for a short hike and to pick up a few caches and hopefully do a few more Plantigrade waypoints.
We phone narrow in easily on the coordinates and I had a quick look around and didn't spot the cache and moved to another area that sort of matched the hint while good old Fleabag- had a look where I already had and made the find. I knew I brought him along for a reason.
Thanks day1976 for the cache, the hunt and the fun.

Made our way to the gz today with my eldest geoson and while he decided to stay put on the track I made the short detour and quickly found the cache. Thanks day1976 for the cache and the walk through this great area.
This was tricky! Checked three mossy trees, and eventually found it on my second visit to the first. It's well hidden, and NOT hanging, as the previous noted. Log was mush, so I replaced it with a small roll of scrap paper. I'm not sure how dry it will stay. Thanks for the cache!
Found it. Its in the tree not hanging. The tube is emerald green so if you are looking at it you will see it. The log is wet mush so did not sign. Tftc.
See Plantigrade for the full story.
I was running out of time. I looked and looked some more. But I guess I didn't see the tree I needed to see. My brain was not working well any more. I moved on. Next time.

Either my GPS is off or there's a mossy tree I missed. Feeling frustrated at this point as this is the third of Day's bison tubes in a row that I can't find!
An absolutely beautiful area with moss covered trees and a walk past black-faced sheep and lambs just like in rural Ireland. Unfortunately we had a good look around for this one and couldn't find it, even noting the logs that say it is no longer hanging. I didn't want to tramp around this fragile area too much, so will leave it for another day. Thanks for bringing us to a gorgeous area, day1976.
Found it after filling our geo tummies, extremely wet log, wasn't hanging, just laying in fork of tree.
This was a very pretty walk. After reading the logs, we found the tube, but couldn't sign it as it is too wet. Needs replacing when you are nearby. Thanks for your work setting these up.
There were some lovely big trees on the way in for me. Not as big as others that I have seen but pretty big nontheless. The fallen tree is a mixed bag as although it has made a mess of some of the mossy tree, at least I knew which tree it was, as the GPS had me at another one about 8 metres away. Then as I sat the GPS by the cache, it read 2m, 5m, 8m, 3m, ..... you get the picture!
I found this cache today at 1:35pm as cache 11 of 12 in company of GJMMelb. Another cache true to it's name. Being how the cache its hidden, it's hard to see how it got a little damp inside. Thanks from D B-A.
Found with Rabbitto on a mild day out doing the Plntigrade multi. This was the last cache we found for the day. Quick find by Rabbitto once at Gz. Thanks day1976

Have had my eye on the Plantigrade cache series since it was first published and keen for the challenge of walking to its end in Cockatoo. Well today was the today and although the weather was not perfect it was good enough and after some short rain spells in the morning by lunch time most of it had passed. The track itself was easy with mud in sections as well as some sections being creeks of flowing water. On the hike today with me was Ahomburg and after starting at 9:30am we got to Cockatoo by 6pm, total distance of approx 30km with an average speed of 3km/hr. There was some nice hides and great scenery along the way. This was one of a few caches found in the series today.
The quickest find so far, nice spot for a cache. Fresh log book which was extra nice.

Streak: 115 Days
After a last minute decision to ditch a plan to head to Licola for some hill climbing with my caching mate SedgwickDave, but after checking the weather, and overnight camping trip may not be too much fun with 90% chance of rain and Gail force winds. So we headed towards the "Plantigrade" multi to see how much of it we could do as it was intended, on foot.
I was lagging a little behing on this cache, and by the time I got to GZ, dave was already signig the log sheet.
Thanks to day1976 for the cache.

How's that luck. Massive tree has come down and decimated half of the mossy tree! I have replaced the container but the co-ords are jumping all over the place. I will endeavour to obtain better co-ords, but for the meantime, just look for the recently fallen tree in the vacinity.
Found the poor old mossy tree which is now a shadow of its former self, having been crunched by a MUCH larger tree in the last few days. Didn't try too hard to find the cache.
Logging this although the CO already knows about the problem, just to warn other cachers and so they don't have to also log a Needs Maintenance.
Found while out and about with my caching buddy Slink1. We had a great day and collected a few caches along the way. TNLN SL
My good mate trailruning was on Holidays so we took the opportunity to grab a few in the Dandenongs, it was a rather wet day compared with the nice day we had before, we made progress on the Plantigrade series, micros in the bush with poor gps signal under the tree cover can be a real challenge, but we got them found.
We spent way too long on this. GPSr's all over the place until I found the right object. BINGO.
It took a few minutes to find the right object to search, but once there, the cache was quickly found. Thanks for the cache.
GPS was jumping a little, but we coincidentally stopped at about the right location - a quick peek through the vegetation yielded GZ! TFTC.

I did see these new caches come up last night, but I wasn't planning on going anywhere then.
When I got up this morning, I thought about these caches and decided that it was a great morning for a bushwalk, so off I headed.
This was the first one I arrived at, I parked the car and started walking down the trail towards GZ, once there it didn't take long to locate the cache and on the inside was a nice clean log waiting for me to sign it.
Thanks to day1976 for placing this cache.
