Logs
Just catching up on logs from the long weekend...
We have traveled up to the Lower Hunter for the QB3 Orienteering Carnival taking place over the long weekend. After completing the day 2 long distance event at Quorrobolong we'd traveled out to Toronto for an ice cream reward on the way back, we spotted this on the map and couldn't resist a quick detour given the size, bush location and interesting cache description. Parking up on the road, we dropped down onto the main track, before peeling off when we reached the junction with the smaller track. We followed this pleasant trail along for a short way until we reached the rusty old ute. Here we dropped down again for a very short but easy bush bash to GZ and made a nice quick find of the awesome cache with its cool camo and well crafted outer wooden construction. A shame the door seems to have been broken off, but still a great cache we really enjoyed finding! We also found and took a TB we found inside which had been logged to a different cache. Many thanks for bringing us here, have a FP!

Our second find for the day after a nearby DNF. This time it was the middle sisters time to discover the cache and it was a very easy find. We parked up on the Buttaba Hills Road and then made our way about 150meters down into the bush. A nice spot I’ve never been into before. Lovely afternoon and a cool cache. Good hide and a recommended cache.
Yay!! My first ever actual find. I found this before anyone else in my group. I was with The Bronze, ImMaBoT and Rosalee. I really like that it was calming of the trees wooshing in the distance. The old car was really damaged and but cool looking. Some of the pieces falling apart. We put two Shopkins in the cache. A fun and easy cache to find. Highly recommended.
The name was very weird but I didn't care we went and did it anyhow. It was very fun that we could find things and help our Sisters. It was very fun. My sister Madelin found this cache easily. I helped her to retrieve it. We all wrote our names in it. There is not much inside. Dad took out two party poppers that had been popped. We've never been in this part of the bush before. The car was interesting to see.
The tree looks like it had a butt on it. We let my sister find this one as her first find. She was really excited. It's in a very open bushland area. It's difficult to get there. An easy and interesting cache.
Went a little in the wrong direction after we found the rusted car. Perserved and found it though. Great find.
Great little find! Had a heap of fun with the daughter on this one. Signed the log and picked up a trackable. Really nice spot, TFTC!
Nice easy find! Got the travel bug in my hot little hands and will drop off to the next cache. Thanks for the hunt!
Found today with my friend and my dad while we were at their house.

We've cached through here a few times, for some reason we'd never stopped here, I know once the kids were a bit spooked by the bush, how times have changed..... We parked basically as close as possible, and found a dit road. Past the rusty car and on to the cool cache.... now that IS a butt! Very cool..... the door has broken off, but is held by the nail.... dropped 2 TBs.... TFTC!

I don't think we found the direct route to the cache but it was a fun find when we got there! A favourite point for the hide.

After a steep slope, spider web dodging, dirt in shoes, the kids and I found the cache
Had no trouble finding the cache once I found how to get into it from the road. Nearly had to chase the "BATS"away as the cache looked too inviting for them. Dropped of a TB to look after it in the mean time .Thanks Team Wangi for the interesting cache.
Found today trying to catch up to some of the local ones. Followed a track down and needed to go bush to find the right track. Nice cache container, but some repair is needed, the timber near the hinge is split. TFTC Team Wangi

Out and about caching in the area with Tassie Trekkers after attending the OzGeoMuster over Easter in Morisset and this was one we found.. A quick find once at GZ. A steep track down. TFTC
While still staying at Morisset we travelled around the area with whitewebbs collecting a few caches and this was one of them.
An easy find at GZ.

Thought I’d tick off a few quick PnGs as I headed back to a morning activity at Mega HQ but running late, only had time for one. Just happened to pick the one with the highest terrain on my list but at least the actual find was easy.
Found It!
I didn't take the best route into this one but I got there. Nice cache hide but the camo is looking a little worse for wear...

Took the track downhill to within 95m of gz without seeing any obvious way in before turning back and decided to try approaching from the other side. Again got to about 100m from gz with no tracks in so I kept followed the track I was on which eventually took me the long way round but made it to the old wreck eventually. Love the caches little home and appreciate the effort put in. Plenty of wildlife out this morning with a kangaroo, wallaby and fox crossing my path. New log definitely needed and the wood has split on the bottom where the hinge is attached. Following the path I was on to get back led me to within metres of where I had turned back the first time. Doh! TFTC
We went for a drive around this side of the lake so i could find a few caches. i had driven past this one a few times wondering how long it would take to walk in and find it. Today we stopped. Left everyone else in the car whilst i ducked down the hill. past the old car wreck and into the scrub to make a quick find. TFTC
Had to bush bash across tracks but once I saw ol' rusty I knew I was close. Nice construction, TFTC
Lovely bush bash! Log desperately needs replacing-unfortunately I didn't have a scrap of paper to put in there. Cute little house!tfth

Another beaut find for the day! Parked on the main road & walked back to find an easy track down the hill. Bush bashed a little way downhill until we crossed another track. Spotted the cache, looked around & spotted the ute. SL TN left some Oz GeoMuster 2018 cards. Take one & log a 'will attend'. A Mega event in Morisset is the plan! TFTC Team Wangi

Found after the geo-daughter's inaugural driving lesson at the Rathmines boat ramp. Plus I need a few caches to calm down the nerves. The log was a little damp but still OK. Many thanks Team Wangi
After reading a log I parked on the side of the road and followed a track down to near gz. I then did some bushbashing and found another track with a old car body on it. Looked like a old holden ute or something. From there I made my way to gz and found a well constructed cache. Great to see, not many around here that are like that, mostly micros. TFTC
Parked on the road and walked down, at first following a track which seemed to go in the right direction. After a while the track took off the wrong way, so we did a bush bashing which was not very hard due to the easy terrain. The great cache was located from a distance and we could open it up and sign the log without any trouble. Then back up to the road again, partly on a track, partly through the bush.
I am sure I took the hard way into this one. For some reason I was swarmed by bees. I looked like "Pig Pen" with his stink lines out of Peanuts. Finally I found a great cache.
Log a little damp. Great Hide. Treasure a little scarce. Donated an electric guitar. Did not swap. TFTC
This was an amazing cache. Absolutely loved the camo and so happy to finally see this type in the wild. Don't be off put by the hill. It's not as steep as it seems. TFTC
It was one of tree locations. We would have bean stumped.... whatever I love puns. Found with DiscoverOz
Cache container has been replaced. This one is not as well cammoed as previous hide so the rating is slightly different.
